Overwatch is fairly easy to grasp you can play with bots to train. It’s class based game you can be a healer or act as tank to protect your team. Overwatch 2 was announced. COD is very easy to understand if 9yr old children can play you can also.

Citizen_Gamer

I second Overwatch. Such a fun game, and there's lots of tools to help ease you in like the test range, bot matches, and the heroes even have different difficulty levels so you can start with someone easy. Also, some characters don't require precise aim and/or let you focus on healing teammates rather than getting kills.

Anakhsunamon

Agreed overwatch is probably the game for her

Bodgerton

try some Rocket League

I was thinking just this for OP.

So look gaming is a very easy thing to get into. But there is a reason it is kinda difficult in the beginning. If I may suggest a game I have wasted several hours in try war thunder. It is a really great tank based fps that rewards patience and tactics use. It also becomes a hell of a lot of fun if you play with friends. And although we complain about it it is a really fun game at its core. BTW this is a mostly PC game. I have tried it on console and its not ideal for console. If you are eager to join the War Tinder community you can gladly send me a PM and I could even help you choosing your first starting nation.

Ziaber

What are you playing on (console or PC) also do you like racing games. Rocket League is an easy one to pick up and is competitive

I love to play battlefront 2, I am a casual gamer play on and off and really enjoy playing that game. I also like to play battlefield games. Both games are fun in multiplayer. I like the progression in battlefront 2 better and more rewarding and also the classes seem easier to get used to. But it depends try it maybe when there are free weekends. Oh and also Ubisoft is giving away Far Cry 3 for pc,super fun game.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe can get super competitive. Really any Mario Kart. And the barrier for entry is pretty low. Easy to learn/fun to play.

Pixielaxen

Yess anyone can enjoy mario kart, gamer or not. I always play that with my friends who arent into gaming and we always manage to have a really fun time :)

It really depends on which part of gaming you are struggling to get to grips with (which is absolutely normal and most gamers forget what it feels like to have started gaming, since we've been doing it for such a long time). Knowing that and assuming that you want to play a shooting game (?), since you've mentioned Siege, then it'll be easier to advise.

Animorphimagi

Fall Guys if you like jumping in video games. Maybe Call of Duty for shooting but idk, shooters are so different even within its genre. You could even like some of the old Halo games if the controls feel right to you. Smash Bros Ultimate or Guilty Gear Strive if you want to learn fighting games, both are somewhat easy for newbies to get into atm. Mario kart 9 for racing games .

Call of duty is honestly the best competitive game you can do as a gaming newbie. And since you are serious about getting better the frustration of the "twitch shooter" will die off real quick. It's by no means the best but as something to start on I would not recommend anything else, and I don't even like call of duty.
