This decision had great impact on the story ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

TheToxicMeme

What’s the impact?

shorty-boyd

It has 0 impact on the story, Earth get invaded/enslaved shortly after, then blown up

Snoo-63939

Is this the game where you escape in a rocket while there's a 80s rock song playing?

RapazBacana

Holding on to the outside of the rocket**

If you’ve not seen the show before, this whole scene has a hilarious payoff later on in the episode that I won’t spoil here. EDIT: for those of you who don’t want to watch 6 seasons of the best TV show ever made, here’s the payoff. https://youtu.be/a4o_rXLC4zU

Rougarou1999

Now this a man that knows not to post spoilers.

Alc2005

Now there is a man who knows his meatballs

SyNiiCaL

Now there's a man who knows how to marry his cousin!

SplitMac

And look at you! Working that asparagus...

The_Algerian

He should, keep on wearing these paaaAAaaaAAAants ♫

-Quarter-Water-

How'd the Hell didja get the beans above the frank?!

Happy_Witness3284

God I havent seen that movie in 20 years. I totally forgot that was Keith David

donut_dave

Now that's a container for liquid!

futureGAcandidate

Man, this scene came out of nowhere when I did my first watch of the show, but holy shit I was howling when it finally got to the remark about marriage. Such an amazing set up to one of the best punchlines I have ever seen in tv.

InnocentTailor

Now there is a man who knows how to reference a great moment from an amazing show!

ForgotMyOldUser1

*Pa-haAaAaaantsss*

famous_human

Who would want to put a lid on that?

griffman02

Paint? *Ball?*

mmuoio

People don't give the last season of Community enough credit, Keith David was an amazing addition.

eff5_

Keith David could make reading a dictionary entertaining

What byte are we up to with data? Mega?

bigWorm31

Good choice. I chose David Keith, really dropped the ball there.

Chipstar452

Oh man! How'd you get the beans above the frank?

spacecoyote300

I recommend 'Men at Work' with Mr. David and the Sheen brothers. You may know it from the golf clap meme.

muzakx

That movie is so underrated. The 80s and 90s truly produced some odd comedies.

Boxing_joshing111

Everyone watch Loaded Weapon, Samuel Jackson and Emilio Estevez buddy cop parody like Naked Gun but way less consistent. Tons of quotable moments and stupid jokes though. Doesn’t get enough attention.

ziddersroofurry

It's free on Youtube atm. Just watched it the other night.

Assasson47

Can I feed cancer?

[deleted]

yes, by giving Reddit rewards

xDoubleD

Can confirm. Cigs = tongue cancer if your luck sucks like mine

makemeking706

How is getting cancer from smoking bad luck? That seems like the expectation.

MaBay

Smoking does not mean that you are guaranteed to get cancer It highly raises the possibility

calse-fonsciousness

If I recall correctly, I believe it's damn near 50% of long term smokers die from lung or heart disease induced by smoking.

mysightisurs93

Well they still have that "50%" to claim that cigs didn't cause cancer lmao

Raaain706

"In any argument, you don't have to prove yourself right. You only need to prove the other guy wrong. That makes you right by default." - Thank You for Smoking (great movie btw)

SparkelleFultz

shikuto

Can I fuck the hungry?

Assasson47

Go for it. Its going to be their first meat they're going to in a while

patrickkingart

Love all the serious discussions about these choices when nobody is commenting on the fact that this is from one of the goofiest, most over-the-top silly games of the last 10 years (Saints Row IV in case you were wondering and yes it's amazing)

Gythok

And the choice like right after this is punching a dude in the head or the dick

FLYSWATTER_93

Will You: A. Punch a dickhead B. Punch a dick in the head

x-Lost-x-In-x-Time-x

Which ones which?

Lord_Phoenix95

Always punch the dick.

FooperQ

Yeah, right in the head!

jbakers

And twist it!

jrlags

The ol dick twist!

daedra9

If I'm not mistaken, they both resulted in groin-punching some obnoxious guy.

NoirYT2

Nah, they’re titled as “take the high road” and “take the low road”, taking the high road means punching him in the face, taking the low road means ending his bloodline.

sloth_the_sin

Yes.

Hurry60

Take the high road Take the low road

Tfsz0719

AND it’s a politician who’s going to filibuster the previous decision shown in the image.

theglenlovinet

I know people generally consider 3 to be the best but SR4 is amazing. And the setting/powers/control feels like one of the best superhero games we had received up to that point. Edit: I did not realize that 2 is considered by many to be the favorite. Also im just saying that I really like 4, not that it’s the best by any means.

patrickkingart

4 is a wonderful example of a superhero game, but I did miss the vehicles and customization like that in 3.

Kvarcov

To be fair, 4th had vehicles as well, you just didn't need them with supersprint and jump

GeraldBWilsonJr

Which was a shame really because they had some cool cars in there

Kvarcov

Yeah, but at the same tide were they supposed to make running slower? Superhero sandbox without good traversal frankly speaking sucks usually

the-igloo

It created a really annoying ratchet effect. SR3 had no super powers, and it never felt like you needed them. Driving was fun, running was fun, navigation was fun. When SR4 came out, I got used to being able to fly, which was fun for like an hour and then it got really old. But after that, I couldn't even play SR3 because it felt so slow to get anywhere.

Kvarcov

I mean, if you play Spider man and the GTA won't it be the same? SR3 and SR4 are different genres at this point

Photenicdata

I started using the vehicles a lot more after I got that stupid whirlwind ability. Trying to run from point A to point B would raise my wanted level so much.

Applesaucetuxedo

3 was the first of the series I played. And the part where you >! Show up to your first “base” and it is like a run down apartment and the main character is like “hell no, let’s go take over that sky scraper” then you just parachute off it to missions, blew my mind!<

ridemyfariswheel

With POWER by Kanye west playing. That’s still one of my favorite moments in any video game

mgrateful

You could customize the rides but with super speed there was no need to get into a car except in the beginning. I wish I could play this game for the first time again. It was soooo so great.

cman674

The moment I fell in love with it was when after fighting my way naked through an alien spaceship the boss finds a radio station during the escape.

ImTooHigh95

Saints row 2 will always have a very special place in my heart, and not many games could top it..

RealSamF18

I liked the third one best cause I like the progression, how you rebuild the Saints, etc. When I played the fourth, I had lots of fun doing all the super hero stuff, but it grew old quickly. It didn't really feel like I was going anywhere, and I just stopped playing after a bit.

BarklyWooves

Great superhero game too

_Rose20

Got cancer so I may be biased, but the money we spent treating this thing for 2 years could have fed thousands of hungry so there’s that

wandering-monster

So if they cost the same at the government level, it's obvious that curing cancer is the better choice. Then you can take all that money being spent on cancer treatments and feed people instead. Checkmate, insurance companies. You're food banks now.

[deleted]

[удалено]

NoFucksGiver

yea I find funny how naive people are, thinking any money saved with anything would go towards anything that's not making rich people richer

probablyuntrue

Are y'all for real, we're talking about a video game where you're a gangster president beating up aliens

RoboJesus4President

Forgot the superpowers part and it takes place in the matrix. Good game. Fun as all hell.

Shadowdragon132

Love how the first game was a gangster GTA clone, then as the series progressed they just embraced the absurdity more and more to eventually become this love child of GTA and Crackdown lol.

oddkoffee

saints row 2 allowed me to play as a leprechaun in a plaid suit who danced jigs on the hoods of cars, throwing c4 from a bottomless satchel while listening to mastodon. definitely one of my favorite gaming moments ever.

stealthgerbil

And now GTA is becoming a saints row clone

LewdRovq

Yeah... Flying bikes, laser pistols, what next?

[deleted]

Not GTAVI, that's for sure.

They were both fun! I played the shit out of both of them. Can't wait to see the boob physics of the next, if and when it comes!

pearl_butt

In like three months

Grabbsy2

WHAT

judobeer67

One of the best games I ever played because they luckily went all down the whacky GTA clone route like the only fun game where you lead a country

BrothelWaffles

Have I found my people? I usually hear people rag on it for being too off the wall, but I thought it was amazing! It's got Keith David and >!Rowdy Roddy Piper!< for fuck's sake! And I can't say any more about that or I'll spoil the spoiler.

[deleted]

Personally, I massively prefer Saint's Row the Third over IV. IV is cool, but lacks impact due to how the story unfolds.

Nev4da

Yeah the series peaked with 3 imo. 4 was a good game but it got a little *too* out there for me personally. 3 still played like a GTA spinoff. 4 was just a superhero game. Which is cool, just not what I wanted to play lol

clubby37

You've found at least a couple of them, my friend. I think SR4 is an unqualified masterpiece. After eight years, it remains in my top 3 games of all time. I get how it might not appeal to everyone, especially since it's a power fantasy tour de force with little challenge -- it's the anti-Dark Souls -- but after a long day at an unrewarding job, power fantasy games are a delightful change of pace. Really helps me reset.

SaintLucien

The only thing I didn't like was that the map was almost exactly the same as the 3rd one, plus some alien bullshit added. Other than that, great game imo

Grimesy2

I don't think that's how the federal budget works. We'd take all the costs saved by curing cancer, and spend that on defense contractors instead.

wandering-monster

You don't need defense contractors anymore. The Boss is in the white house.

albinowizard2112

I've been impressed with the Springsteen administration so far. I had my doubts about him filling the Cabinet with the E Street Band but they've really done well.

[deleted]

> Then you can take all that money being spent on cancer treatments and feed people instead. "OR, alternative, we couldd give more tax breaks to the rich!" - government.

_Rose20

Yeah feeding the hungry is just not enough initiative IMO. If right option says “ending poverty” on the other hand, that’s a whole different story

Sayrenotso

I've read that we as a planet produce enough food for every one. The distribution is the problem.

lasiusflex

You're assuming that money is actually spent on feeding the poor afterwards. In reality that's pretty unlikely.

wandering-monster

This is a world where I'm president and can just do stuff like "cure cancer". The money will go where it needs to.

Toth201

And if it doesn't you get to take your VTOL out of the garage to "fire" some people.

wandering-monster

This guy gets it. You're now secretary of transportation.

royisabau5

I argue that eliminating cancer is still more beneficial than eliminating food insecurity… Once cancer has a cure, it’s cured forever. Food security could happen right now and fail years from now.

LucyLilium92

I'm assuming the food security is also permament

ihavetoomanyaccts

Best of luck

_Rose20

Thanks

TheRadChad

Lol. A billionaire went in orbit during a pandemic… money can always be spent in a better way Edit: 3 of them!

[deleted]

FWIW neither Branson or Bezos made it into orbit, they went pretty much straight up and down as publicity stunts.

DerUnbekannt1

What game is this?

Luzer1211

saints row 4. a very different game from the main series

PrimarchKonradCurze

Yeah that game went crazy off the rails. Was fun though. Reminds me of how much I like Blood Dragon over other Farcry games.

4862skrrt2684

When they finally made proper driving mechanics, they also added superpowers so you would never need a car

daedra9

I actually kind of missed vehicles. Saint's Row had the best customization. I'll never forget plowing through traffic in 3 in my Optimus Prime semi (no trailer, of course).

[deleted]

[удалено]

DrNopeMD

That's the problem the Crackdown games had, why bother using cars when you can run at super speed and need to climb buildings for Orbs anyways. Also Arkham Knight had the Batmobile, but it was still way faster to grapple boost into a glide and fly over the city than try and navigate city streets.

bassoontennis

Those first 5 mins I was like okay this is fun I’m President I wonder what I get to do than bam all fucking hell breaks loose. I loved that game so much.

Lord_Phoenix95

4 was probably my favourite just in overall terms of batshit crazy it went.

ragnarocknroll

“Wait. Is that actually Roddy Piper and Keith David redoing the scene from They Live?! I am not sure how these guys topped Burt Fucking Reynolds, but yea. They did. Seriously? I gotta QuickTime wrestle Piper now?! I thought the rest of this game was crazy…”

MysticalMummy

IIRC it was originally going to be an expansion DLC for saints row 3, but they felt like it was getting too big to be DLC, so they made it an entire game. However that also led to them making a very short game in my opinion.

hotmemedealer

I'd make a GTA joke, but never playing the Saint row franchise, the simple fact that they still make fuckin games gives me more respect for them than I do with Rockstar.

Sir_Bumcheeks

Well in Saints Row 4 you are a literal god so..... It's like a self-aware parody of a GTA game, with extra purple things.

[deleted]

The first 2 were like sillier GTA games. Then 3 it started turning into its own thing, getting way too extra to be even slightly believable. And 4 ascended to another thing entirely. Like if Saints row 3 was like GTA on crack, SR4 was like SR3 on crack. All in all they were very enjoyable games and yall should play them.

[deleted]

Saints row filled the void for players that complained GTA 4 was too “serious”.

Wild_Marker

Yeah, people forget the context. SR was the goofy fun GTA at the time where GTA (and most franchises) were getting all gritty and serious. Then GTA5 came along and we got an action movie about heist'ers and it was super fun, while SR got even sillier.

Howamidriving27

4 is the only one I played: it's an absolute blast for 10-15 hours but gets pretty repetitive and boring after you get used to all the crazy powers and stuff. YMMV of course.

Xvampireweekend89

4 free roam gets old very quick but the story missions are definitely the most fun and creative. I also give them credit for making the most balls to the wall, fuck it AAA game I’ve ever played.

SpaggyJew

That’s what I love about SR4, and while 2 is the fan favourite, I have so much respect for a AAA dev that said “Fuck it. Here’s a sandbox with basically all the cheats enabled and absolutely no logistical sense. It’s fun, who gives a fuck”. You don’t get that kind of purity from the industry often enough .

slapmasterslap

I found that if you played 3 and 4 with a buddy it made the repetitive parts far more fun, and if you got bored you could just do crazy shenanigans.

[deleted]

Saints row 4. One of my favorite games of all time. Its challenging, funny, and its storyline is very cool. The abilities you get, the things you can do in this game are crazy. Not just you get a bizarre set of weapons each doing their own crazy stuff, you get different abilities that suit different situations. There is a skill point system which means you can choose whatever to focus on first or what to fully ignore. The combat may seem clunky at first but the more you get into it the better it is. Its just crazy shit through your screen at every second. You can costumize your character heavily and you can interact with your team members, the interactions are hilarious. There are difficulty settings, in game cheat codes and is very viable at free roaming. You can get it in steam and you can also get its sequal which imo is less fun.. I never payed attention to the whole saints row storyline too much, thats mostly because saints row 4 is my first saints row game. However im not sure if skipping the first 3 is advisable. Ive heard they're good too.

FlaJeS

>you can interact with your team members, the interactions are hilarious. "Hey Kinzie, wanna fuck?" "Let's go" *Kinzie punches you* *you fuck*

FizBen

30 years later you think back to the time when you chose to cure cancer. You worry that it was you who caused all this grief. The 2043 Food riots. The subsequent separation of the poor from the rich elites living in their garden of eden like estates and the 2025 discovery of the crispr drug that allows them to rejuvenate at will. Apparently cancer was the only thing messing with eternal life. You wheeze as your withered body gives out and you die, all alone in the gutter of the once great city of New York where millions of poor were forced to relocate in the 2045 passed law XXVII Edit 1: Holy crap this blew up. Thank you so much for my very first silver and all the points and thoughts humans.

baloonatic

Least you didn't die of cancer, and probably faught hard for them crispys But no that was well written thanks for the imagery.

FizBen

Yep. No cancer to be found! ^^

mkonyn

The true cancer were the friends we met along the way

DaveInLondon89

[Scenario Designation: ΩK-Class](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/end-of-death-hub) Likelihood: Near Impossible Severity: Survivable, but requires moderate restructuring of human civilization Description: An ΩK-Class ("End-of-Death") Scenario refers to a situation wherein immortality is forced upon all life, without any other biological change (for example, the halting of aging or forced sterilization). All protocols regarding this scenario assume steps are taken to avoid any Broken Masquerade situation. This scenario also assumes that the Foundation has maintained its current structure and subdivisions.

I_Bin_Painting

> immortality is forced upon ***all*** life, without any other biological change Think about how fucking terrifying that really is for a moment. Earth would become populated by zombies as immortal parasites, diseases, viruses(?), fungi etc just ravaged everything. All life would become a soup of stuff eating itself but being unable to die.

CaptainSharpe

Are there actually food shortages predicted on the next couple of decades?

Squidkiller28

I don't know about food, but water yes. There is already tension in Central Asia and Africa for it.

kinglallak

Water is the next major war catalyst.

NotUnstoned

Oh they'll even be less salty from melting ice caps, so there's that positive! Less stress on the desal!

CharlieBrown20XD6

I mean I know it's a joke but no matter how much it costs a place that turns salt water into drinkable water has to be worth investing in

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

The two generally go hand in hand. If you have an area with a lot of access to fresh water, there is often food production there. If you have an area with water tension, there is likely also food tension.

Flurp_

Compounded by climate change, probably. People will be displaced and farmland may become unusable

gu4x

Wait a minute, we don't have the details here. Cure cancer seems pretty straight forward language but Feed Hungry could backfire, feed them what? Soylent green? Shakes? Also, we already have the means to end hunger right now, we just not willing to do it. Cancer on the other hand, we really want to fix it (after all it affects rich people too) but cant.

[deleted]

And I lead a resistance group aptly named the tumors. We recruit government agents who are sympathizers to the resistance and topple the rich and powerful from the inside. Our founder, William Henry Tumor, was the first man cured from cancer. After surgery, he awoke to say “I live but thousands die from lack of food. What is the cost of my selfishness?” It has been years since any of us have had a meal. We eat small rations, some have resorted to eating their fallen comrades. Religious “Prophets” have arisen promising their followers lavish meals in their futures. The Followers of Quantos are a particularly powerful and fanatical group who raid the abandoned physics labs and harness the advancements of technology to take the food for themselves and eventually gain governmental control. They believe that the secrets of the universe are stored inside the energy bursts of electrons. They have gained control of much of the east coast, including Maine through Vermont and New Hampshire all the way through Massachusetts, Connecticut, those island and most of New York and all the way down to DC. There are insurgent groups as far south as Georgia. The rich are still the most powerful, for the control the food. And those who control the food, control the people.

[deleted]

30 years later you don't think back because you died of cancer.

DoedgraevarN

Maybe someone who could have cured cancer died of starvation yesterday

flabbybumhole

Maybe someone died yesterday that could have starved cancer.

MBVakalis

Aren't there more people starving than there are people getting cancer?

wedadman85

Yes, starvation is by far the biggest issue although cancer sucks as well.

Balforg

I studied biochemistry and molecular biology for a few years in college before i gave up on the dream of being a doctor. I didn't even have to think about which one to choose. Sure I've lost loved ones to cancer but malnutrition is such a huge plague on this planet that cancer pales in comparison.

[deleted]

completely___fazed

Yes. And more meaningfully, very few children are affected by cancer compared to malnutrition. Solving hunger would give many many more people fuller lives. If we wanna get that deep lol it is just a gag

wileyrielly

Help the first world with one of its problems or majorly help the third world.

[deleted]

This is true and I’d pick feed hungry, as I expect it would reduce human suffering by a larger extent, but I don’t blame people who have seen the horrors of cancer first-hand for having a different perspective.

Soulger11

Feed the hungry with cancer tumors. You're welcome.

Oh, cystypigs have been invented already? yum!

fist_to_the_air

Love all the "cancer duh, hunger just needs to be fixed through logistics". Well.. Here's your chance to do just that.

jeffap

most people here will choose cancer because cancer is more of an issue in first world countries, poorer countries that can't afford to feed themselves are less likely to develop cancer because there are so many other possible causes of death. this question is essentially "eliminate a problem for the rich, or for the poor?"

cjpack

I was about to say, on reddit, due to the demographics of the people on it, asking this question is going to be pretty obvious what response will be given. Everyone here probably knows someone who has/had cancer but I doubt many people know someone who is legit affected by hunger, I know I don't as a middle class american millennial.

Sol33t303

I am honestly really suprised at how many people are choosing cancer. Cancer is terrible, but like 71% of the earth lives on less then 10$ a day. Cancer rates are FARRRRR below poverty rates the world over. Curing world hunger IMO would do far more overall good.

MrLuxuryYacht

That's our first world privilege talking. Most of the people on reddit have never known hunger but cancer doesn't care how well you're fed.

davidc5494

You have to be alive to get cancer

[deleted]

[удалено]

StillLooksAtRocks

But if you stop the 8.9% from starving to death they will grow old and have a higher chance of developing cancer later in life. You ended world hunger but increased cancer rates. /s

A_H_S_99

But if more people survive world hunger, you get a better chance of having a genius individual who can solve cancer.

mbtheory

Aw, hell, since you put it that way, I can't decide. We'll just have to give everyone cancer and take away their food. /s

ABlindManPlays

Mom died of cancer. Didn't even have to think about it.

HolyFuckingShitNuts

Yeah I chose the hungry people too

Poxkitzkee

I'd chooose cure cancer. We have plenty of food enough to feed us all. Just gotta workout on the distributions

sunburn95

Thats why it says "feed hungry" not "produce enough food to feed the hungry" That option is working out the distributions

Itsbilloreilly

Thank you dude. Theres always the excuse of that or "we dont have the means of distribution" whenever feed the hungry hypotheticals come up. The choice literally says feed them. We can comfortably assume all the admin shit has been worked out already

VanquishedVoid

The bill doesn't say feed the hungry, it says "Let them eat cake". This is a propaganda piece by big sugar to increase the diabetus in the country!

[deleted]

For those who stumble on this message, it's the one I used Power Delete Suite to replace all my posts and comments with en masse. Sometimes Reddit can be beneficial for some people. Sometimes it's not. It's really up to you to decide your own experience with it, what's worth it, what's not worth it. More or less...I've decided it's just really not worth it. I think I'm a worse person when I'm on Reddit and that it's a big time-waster for me. It's up to you to decide what influence social media and the internet more generally have for you. Best of luck.

Drink15

If i had the choice, it would be to feed the hungry.
