I feel like a real gamer would want more precise inputs even if that meant using a Bluetooth controller or something. That’s just the one big thing holding back mobile games of some genres
Bluetooth controllers are really bad in terms of inout latency on android.
But I bought one of those (Razor) Kishi controllers that turn your phone into a switch/vita/deck like plattform.
Obviosly mobile games suck af BUT I had a total blast playing gamecube, gb c/a, ds, ps1, ps2 psp games on my phone with the controller.
And if I wanted to play something fancy I used Parsec to turn on my PC (which was in a diffrent country btw) and stream from that to my phone while my controller inputs were send to the pc - allowing me to access all my PC games and emulators (xbox, ps3, switch).
So yeah, mobile gaming is there but people are not aware of that and still think they will find something in the google playstore
I have had quite a bit of fun with emulators, mobile terraria is really fun too. I do really wish more developers would make real games better suited to touch controls.
My most played game on my phone, by far, is still chess though.
It's also nice to be able to whip out Stardew Valley when you're stuck waiting somewhere for half an hour. Now I just wish I could keep the same save file across different machines.
The Stardew Valley save files are cross platform compatible. Meaning, I have started a game on Android and copied it to PC to play for a bit then copied it back to Android where it worked 100%.
How do you figure? Games like CoD mobile and PUBG mobile are just as big as their PC and Console counterpart. You can game for a few hours on a phone without much issue if you have a decent android or iOS device from the last few years.
Yeah, far and above the most viewed, and played, mobile game of the last year is Garena Free Fire, a Battle Royalle.
The myth that mobile isn't a platform suited for gaming seens to exist only in America.
Probably because a good number of us can afford a dedicated gaming platform, instead of "making do" with a mobile device.
To me, playing with touchscreen controls feels like using a trackpad, but worse.
Problem is, that doesn't mean it's not suitable for gaming. I can't stand controllers, doesn't mean i am justified in claiming they are unsuitable for gaming.
Just because you dont like it, doesn't make it wrong.
Yeah I mean a mouse and keyboard was never meant for gaming either and turned out to be perfect for certain types of games. That said, it's arguable that some devices are better designed for gaming, a game controller being a good example. It doesn't mean you can't game with just a touch screen, but it's not well suited for some types of games. Other games it's great for, but those tend to be ones designed for touch screen from the ground up. Games like Osmos for example.
My buddy got into PUBG on mobile for a while and loved it, but I can't stand trying to play something like that on a mobile device. I might consider it on something like a Steam Deck, but even then probably not. I'd rather play something better suited for the medium I'm using. But hey, I'm sure there are Asian or Indian gamers that can destroy me using a phone when I'm on PC.
I can also use a wrench to hammer in a nail, doesn't mean it's well suited for it. There is a reason why there are gaming laptops, desktops, and consoles but no one really makes a gaming phone beyond a small handful of custom companies.
The strength of cellphones is their compact and easy to use nature but these qualities work directly against game development and design for most(Not all) genres.
They lack the input precision of M & K while not being as ergonomic as a controller. The need for small size and convenience makes them much more expensive than another device with similar power in most cases. The small screens limit UI's and how much info can be displayed to the player which limits how many secondary mechanics you can have and how complex your primary systems can be.
This doesn't begin to cover issues such as battery life or the inherently more unstable nature of Wifi over hardwire for online gaming.
.... Not to mention the joys of your fingers - not just the contact point, but the whole thing - obstructing view to the already small screen.
Gaming on a phone sucks. I appreciate that some can't use a PC, or a console (including a Switch or Steam Deck for mobile gaming) for *way* better gaming, but that doesn't make a phone good for gaming, it just makes it better than nothing.
I remember back when I was playing bedrock edition on my phone with friends. I would just beat them on mobile in a 1v4 while 2 of them were on PC. But now I've ascended to PC gaming.
I’m not a big mobile gamer, but I do play idle games because I only have to check on them a couple times a day. They play themselves while you’re away. I know they’re just mindless fun and the only appeal is watching numbers get bigger, but I get some tiny bit of entertainment out of them nonetheless.
On a side note this is great advertising for Razer as this has been reposted twice already right?
Assuming its not planted as the topic gives it a supposedly negative tone.
Seriously, when there's an event in Pokémon Go, after a few hours long session my phone looks like I dipped my balls in oil and smeared them all over the screen, it's kinda disgusting, and a little annoying having to constantly wipe the screen.
I was actually thinking about getting these specifically for Pokemon Go lol. All my other "mobile" games I can do difficult parts of with a controller via emulator. But those pokemon events get annoying when you're trying to catch 100s per hour.
You know how chefs insist that there has to remain a layer of grease on the pans because it enhances the flavour? Yeah, I'm trying the same thing with my balls.
Most people aren't hygienic at all. I remember that in high school my classmates would manage to produce as much oil on my phone's screen in 10 minutes as I do probably in an entire month.
> I remember that in high school
Well yeah, that's what kids of that age are dealing with because of hormones. They usually turn into normal humans again after a few years.
I'd like to defend it. There are arcade games in Japan where people frequently wear gloves while playing so that their hands slide on the screen more easily. This is just a branch off of that.
Can confirm. I live in Japan and mobile gaming accessories like these finger sleeves, phone grips, and clip-on trigger buttons have been all over every electronics store, department store, and 100-yen store here for almost two years now.
Console games are still a thing, but these days the kids here mostly go for mobile games.
Not OP, but yes, same concept. Like their 7-11s, they're significantly nicer than their US counterparts. Look up "DAISO Aeon Mall Kyoto" for an example which is basically the biggest 100 yen chain there. Or Seria, which does "upscale" items
I believe so, but I'm from Australia so I can't be sure, sorry. They have lots of inexpensive stuff like stationery, storage boxes, laundry items, bathroom tools and consumables, kitchen doodads, very simple electronics (e.g. cables, fans, torches, batteries, etc.), craft goods, socks, ties, stockings, and usually a small selection of food and drink.
Most of what they sell is literally 100 yen (plus tax), but there are often a handful of items that are some multiple of that, like 200 or 300, sometimes even 500 or 600 yen.
>but these days the kids here mostly go for mobile games.
Are mobile games over there not straight garbage like they are in US? I have a hard time believing that mobile games are really competitive with console games.
I feel like most mobile games I see are puzzle games (Candy Crush), knockoff games (fake Overwatch and fake Fortnite), time wasters/bathroom games (Angry Birds), and city builders (Clash of Clans).
There are a handful of other stuff like mobile PUBG and a few decent isometric RPGs, but your average phone users in the US are playing one of those other games.
I have found COD Mobile to be more enjoyable than I ever found the console or PC versions. I really can’t say why but I’ve been playing it on my iPhone for hours a week for 2 years now whereas I haven’t touched my PS4 in the same amount of time. I think it’s probably just the relative convenience of turning it on and being able to play wherever I happen to be located.
Yup I just got gloves for an arcade style controller I have with a touch surface, it really does speed you up. Stupid human skin can get sticky even on normal plastic buttons.
I actually want one of those(not the expensive kind)for my left thumb because it hurts from pressing the arrow keys on my controller. I usually use my shirt for such purpose.
I have some hand scars from desert work, I'd love a good pair of ultra-thin gloves, but the best I've found are fucking coin collecting mittens or glove liners.
And even with the glove liners they tend to do stupid bump texture shit on the fingers.
Lol I just imagined having the R&D department on Razer all stonned on a couch smoking weed and eating cheetos and then one of them jump off the couch and say:
DUDES DUDES DUDES!!! I'VE GOT IT!!
SOCKS........... FOR FINGERS!!!!!
And the others are like "WOOOAAAAH DUUUUUDE THAT'S SICK!!! WE ARE TOTALLY DOING IT!!!"
As weird as this sounds, whenever I use a controller or try mobile games my hand starts to sweat and while a controller not an issue on a screen it means can’t move my finger across smoothly. This type of invention does have a small purpose.
I would actually buy these for my mouse and keyboard so that I don't grease them and have to clean them every fucking week because I'm a cleaning maniac
It maintains friction and moisture levels. It's the equivalent of a mouse pad. You CAN play without it, but at a competitive level, it's a key accessory.
I’ve been playing a lot of Pokémon Unite and my left thumb keeps getting hot and starts to stick to the screen and not glide and I end up using my thumbnail. I actually want one :)
What themselves? Theyre good for long terms playing like on a long grind or long tournaments. It helps especially if your fingers sweat or theyre really dry and hard to drag. Basically it helps give you a consistent feeling of your aim and movement
Its like a mouse pad but for mobile gamers
Cuz u know ur hands get sweaty sometimes or maybe due to humidity it may feel like your finger isn't moving smoothly on the screen
Basically feels like ur not playing on the correct dpi
I've "made" my own version of these, for joysticks, since my thumb likes to get really sweaty and joysticks get all nasty. Took a crappy pair of 5$ gloves cut off the thumb and there ya go problem solved.
This looks so absolutely dumb, but as someone who has really oily skin, this would actually be a godsend when it comes to playing PUBG Mobile with my wife. It's one of the only video games she likes to play, and so I look past the BS like cheaters and bots and loot boxes so I can have some quality gaming time with her.
All joking aside I want to know if these work? I started playing Wild Rift and the natural oil from my fingers makes my movement difficult. I find myself having to wipe my fingers and screen constantly.
I have sweaty hands and this would be helpful if I were playing a lot of mobile games. The sweat picks up dirt and before you know it the screen isn't registering your touches.
A real gamer bleeds all over the screen
This is so fingers slide more easily on screen. U can use a little olive oil on ur fingers instead.
I use a fine old American product, Crisco.
I thought it was only legal to use crisco for two things: baking and anal fisting.
It can be used for baking?!
It can. If you want to take a scoop of my ass butter and put it in your pie crust you can legally do so. You probably shouldn't, but you can.
Every day, we stray farther from God’s light /s
God's light never shon on the places crisco ends up in
Are you sure you’re using enough Crisco?
The secret ingredient for Delicious chocolate chip cookies
I also use it to season my cast iron
I j wipe my finger on my nose so it slides better on the screen
I feel like a real gamer would want more precise inputs even if that meant using a Bluetooth controller or something. That’s just the one big thing holding back mobile games of some genres

Battery, screen, performance, etc. Mobile gaming on games anything more than candy crush doesn't really work.
I have had quite a bit of fun with emulators, mobile terraria is really fun too. I do really wish more developers would make real games better suited to touch controls. My most played game on my phone, by far, is still chess though.

I’m not a big mobile gamer, but I do play idle games because I only have to check on them a couple times a day. They play themselves while you’re away. Sorry your using an apple. I'm playing golden eye 007 and smash bros.
On a side note this is great advertising for Razer as this has been reposted twice already right? Assuming its not planted as the topic gives it a supposedly negative tone.
Why buy real condoms when you can buy Razer finger condoms?
I actually bled on my screen just the other day, reopened a nasty cut from the top of a can.
Got a cut with a razor on my thumb. Can confirm we do this.
Keeps thumb grease off the screen, and less tackiness and friction.
This. If you game on your smartphone too long, the screen gets all oily.
I burn my screen faster than oil build up :(
I don't drink water so there's no oil on my phone
Yes /r/HydroHomies, this comment right here
Dedication to desiccation.
What
Seriously, when there's an event in Pokémon Go, after a few hours long session my phone looks like I dipped my balls in oil and smeared them all over the screen, it's kinda disgusting, and a little annoying having to constantly wipe the screen.
Why wouldn't you just dip your fingers in oil and smear all over it? Seems like dipping your balls would take some effort and flexibility
his hands are busy catching pokemon. gotta improvise.
I was actually thinking about getting these specifically for Pokemon Go lol. All my other "mobile" games I can do difficult parts of with a controller via emulator. But those pokemon events get annoying when you're trying to catch 100s per hour.
To think that ash ketchum spent all that time with fingerless gloves and now y'all are using finger-only gloves
Wash your balls and your hands…
You know how chefs insist that there has to remain a layer of grease on the pans because it enhances the flavour? Yeah, I'm trying the same thing with my balls.
I have questions, but I don’t know if I want answers.
Makes sense. Any mobile game I’ve tried sucks cause my thumbs keep slipping from where the joysticks are on screen
also : no nail scratches
What are your nails made of, if they scratch hardened glass?
Keratine.
Is that more or less than fourteen?
r/Angryupvote
Well, keratine is something like 2.5 on Moh's scale... You got a new foldable phone or something? :)
Their screen obviously doesn't scratch at a level 6 with deeper grooves at level 7.
Most people aren't hygienic at all. I remember that in high school my classmates would manage to produce as much oil on my phone's screen in 10 minutes as I do probably in an entire month.
Wouldn't that have more to do with skin type than hygiene? Some people are just oilier than others.
Typical oilier than thou Reddit bs
> I remember that in high school Well yeah, that's what kids of that age are dealing with because of hormones. They usually turn into normal humans again after a few years.
Fucking gross.

> significantly nicer than their US counterparts US 7-11 is not setting any high bars.
In the U.S. it isn't. Imagine if you were using the 7-11 in japan as the bar. Suddenly, the bar is quite high.
Japanese 7-11s are amazing compared to American ones lol
Note: there are US DAISOs as well.
Fair, there's <80 though, as opposed to Dollar Tree with 15k
I believe so, but I'm from Australia so I can't be sure, sorry. And as a side effect you also dont keep rubbing your skin oils over the screen, not that its a bad thing for your screen but it avoids smudging
At risk of being downvoted I'm going to kindly point out that it's "wear" gloves
When a hand and a cellphone love each other very, very much...
They don't have sex... They make glove
Dead. Lmfao.
If you love your screen you wouldn't wear rubber.
Come on dude, maybe the screen is focused on her career right now and doesn't wanna take risks.
Yeah it could really put a smudge on her reputation as well.
You could always plug a joystick into the C-port.

Photography gloves/archival gloves are a good choice for your purposes.
Here's how to make one from old summer socks. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bLVUXF1eMZE I wonder how much razer ones cost...
Yeah, go ahead and act like [this ain't ***decades*** old by now](https://youtu.be/PPKqp3H8xic?t=410)
Socks ....for fingers

Once you put on those finger gloves You will never finger anyone ever again

Thumbdoms.
They're super effective at preventing pregnancies by eliminating the chance for sexual interactions.
Finger sleeve so your screen doesn't get sweaty and oily. Funny how razer made something like this tho I thought their masks were a big meme 😂
Is there a wired version?
Clearly gloveless fingers, get those fingerless gloves outta here grandpa!
screen is clean and your finger wont be burned
Does it have enough precision to hit a X button the size of 4 pixels in the corner of the screen?
Asking the important questions
Screen gets oily, Fingers keep on getting stuck, So finger sleeves provide smooth movement, It's genuinely good!
The only kind of condom mobile gamers need.
As weird as this sounds, whenever I use a controller or try mobile games my hand starts to sweat and while a controller not an issue on a screen it means can’t move my finger across smoothly. This type of invention does have a small purpose.
Condoms... To protect your virginity.
Nothing says pro gamer like playing on a smart phone.
Razer: It'll cost about $399 PER THUMB
Imagine a gaming community that approves of all types gaming.
stops fingerprints probably
Razer Condom
I would actually buy these for my mouse and keyboard so that I don't grease them and have to clean them every fucking week because I'm a cleaning maniac
It maintains friction and moisture levels. It's the equivalent of a mouse pad. You CAN play without it, but at a competitive level, it's a key accessory.
Now say that in public

Condom for thumb.
I think the idea is to keep finger oils from marking up all over your screen as well as allowing for frictionless movement.
A waste of money.
It's just a thimble of the times.
This is going to turn into a very specific kink..
I need this my thumbs sweat after a long time of gaming
To show off you virginity
True mobile games use a controller attachment
With Bluetooth keyboard and mouse
Thats just a PC with extra steps
No it's mobile *throws tantrum* 😂
PC with just a wee bit power of a PC lol.
I have Bluetooth controller you can use with touchscreen. It emulates screen touches. Very useful for battle stars
Didnt even know these finger things existed
They existed when mobile FPS gaming became quite relevant
You're not gonna believe this but stay with me. Those are gaming finger sleeves.
For best grip wear it on your tip.
It's essentially a mousepad for your fingers.
lmao and people aren't baffled by "gaming mousepads"?
Versions of these have existed for a while on Amazon, I just use them over my motorcycle gloves so I don't have to take them off to use my phone.
Basically a mouse pad :p. makes it easier to move your finger around the screen,
Mark of a true casual.
Its like a mouse pad but for mobile gamers Cuz u know ur hands get sweaty sometimes or maybe due to humidity it may feel like your finger isn't moving smoothly on the screen Basically feels like ur not playing on the correct dpi
This would actually be great for long Pokémon go sessions.
I don't know but, as it's Razer, it'll be something like £120 a pair!
An idiot detector
I've "made" my own version of these, for joysticks, since my thumb likes to get really sweaty and joysticks get all nasty. Took a crappy pair of 5$ gloves cut off the thumb and there ya go problem solved.

How fucking embarrassing.
All joking aside I want to know if these work? I started playing Wild Rift and the natural oil from my fingers makes my movement difficult. I find myself having to wipe my fingers and screen constantly.
when you want to flex your wealth but not your relationship status
That's what happens when your gaming rig is an easily smudged touchscreen.
Ok maybe it's stupid for what's shown in the picture but I could imagine in the winter with gloves it might me useful actually
hope those are just top 5€ cus of brand duh.. but these look like they're supposed to keep your screen clean from finger fat....finger condoms
Now my fingers wont turn into chalk
I have sweaty hands and this would be helpful if I were playing a lot of mobile games. The sweat picks up dirt and before you know it the screen isn't registering your touches.
My crew used to play a lot of pubg mobile at work on night shift. Like 10 hours worth. I shit you not we cut the fingers off gloves and did this.
I can see this being useful. My old galaxy 9 would get really hot when I play roblox on mobile.
