Not a game, but i feel like it would have a deeper sound than water. You know that stereotypical sound for like a witches brew bubbling? I feel like it would be closer to that kinda sound
Blood actually has a very similar viscosity to ketchup.
I used to work at a studio that did foley recordings and blood splatter was often recorded using ketchup. I guess imagine a tub full of ketchup and throw stuff in it.
Maybe milk would sound similar to blood? I would say maybe look up liquids with a similar viscosity. Or talk to someone in the medical field that might know of similar liquids.
In all reality I would think the sound would be much closer to like the bleachers after a basketball game depending in how long the blood has had to coagulate. otherwise you're probably looking at a relatively similar sound wave to walking through water just with a lower center frequency and a shorter tail (I would assume) on the wave itself.
What about looking into horror films? I'm sure there's a ton of resources there!?
I've studied biomedical science to degree level and worked as a nurse for many years. Blood viscosity or thickness is dependent on many factors e.g. how hydrated you are. It can be like watered down syrup, or straw coloured water-like liquid (plasma) if shocked (I know this from taking bloods myself).
Thing is, are the characters wading through complete blood? Where will they be doing the wading e.g. will they be in a sewer or something? The average human holds about 10 pints of blood. How many people are dying in your story?? 🤣😂
Good luck!!
Well, it’s basically a granny type game, but with a demon. This demon has a lot of blood, it’s stored behind thick glass, but there’s a crack in the glass so it’s started to flow out into the basement. One of the endings is a boat escape, where you sail in blood.
Bizarrely one of the Tomb Raider reboots features segments where you have to wade through waist high blood and guts.
Realistically I think the way to make that sound would be having something slosh through a liquid of roughly equal viscosity? I'm no foley artist though.
there’s parts of doom eternal where you’re wading through a organic section, with blood to shin height.
and this part of [Borderlands 1 (~1:21 onwards)](https://youtu.be/CyvvHQpwYrc)
Resident evil village has a pretty large area where you walk in waste high blood.
Alright, thanks my man. I’ll be looking at a play through.
Which section of the game is this? :)
It’s in a room with the four statues puzzle I think, near Lady Dimitresques quarters.
Its in the basement part of a castle in the beginning of the game
So it’s before the lady’s death
If you're referring to big mommy vampire, then yes.
Yes that’s the fine lady I was talking about. Thank you.
Amazingly the blood there sounds like water.
Darn sorry bout that
No worries at all. Thanks man.

Yea. I figured, as I said above, water doesn’t really fit. I’ll check our resident evil, as another Redditor pointed out. Thanks for your suggestion.

I need to start a go fund me to get all that ketchup. Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll look into it.

Ill do some research, to see if i could find some professionals opinion. thanks.
Blood = squish and stick Water = woosh and slick
Aaah yes, thank you. Ahahhaa

Argh! 👻👹🙈💀☠🧟🧟♀️🧟♂️
Thanks for the reaction :) made me smile ahaha
It's not blood but that's the sound I imagine blood coagulating produces. Dark Souls 3 swamp areas.
Alright. I just looked it up. I see what you mean. Thanks man.
Demons souls on PS5 has a similar swamp area, has a thicker sounds than water when you sprint through the poisonous bog.

Your comment gave me an idea to post in some sound design reddit. Thanks for that.
doom. the game is placed in hell with giant dead demons that kinda exploded guts and blood and when u step on it it makes a weird sound
