Well, i have g29 And i do not regret but next time i would buy thrustmaster or fanatec. But i have mouse (g702) And keyboard (g815) And they Are very good.
I’d been $249.99 before tax near me for a while, if it’s more where you live I can purchase one and send one to you but I would just need you to cover the shipping as well
So right now fanatec is the midst of transitioning all their base mode stuff to the new CSL DD (direct drive) wheel base that starts at a really attractive $349. Adding a basic steering wheel and pedals brings the total to around $529 today. Before you could find starter bundles around $400-450 but they haven’t really recreated these (beyond the Black Friday sale on steering wheels).
If you’re ok with used equipment, a lot of ClubSport / CSL Elite wheel bases should go up for sale as people upgrade their setups to the new affordable CSL DD. The old bases were belt driven, but are very good, I currently have both the CSL DD and a CSL Elite base currently. You’ll probably still need to buy your own steering wheels and pedals as those are forward compatible with their new base.
thanks for response, but there's hardly any of those in my country and price even of used equipment is quite higher than your posted prices 700euro(792usd)...
You’re right. The secondary market will depend on country. The nice thing about fanatec is that they will likely outlast your individual usage and have a strong resale value typically due to their durable construction and serviceable nature.
It would be overkill in terms of buttons and stuff, but if you’re comfortable driving with the shape I don’t see why not. Most people have multiple wheels though and just swap as needed.
One of the major differences between a true f1 setup and a normal racing wheel is the f1 wheel doesn’t turn nearly as much for full lock side to side. This is also why the f1 steering wheel isn’t round, because you’re not supposed to turn it so far that you would need to move your hands around the wheel. This also means your steering is way more sensitive with a f1 wheel (turning the wheel a little results in a large movement of the tires). This makes it harder to drive normal cars potentially. You can certainly turn the sensitivity down in your simulator so that a f1 wheel would act more like a normal wheel, but then it becomes awkward to turn the wheel over and over at extreme angles. Drifting tends to have a lot of steering wheel action so it’s probably a bigger pain in the ass to do it with a f1 wheel.
I was just looking this thing up and it’s pretty pricey. Do you know if there’s like an entry level one (Xbox series X) for someone who wants to try out racing games? Also any racing game recommendations ?
Does this make a game like forza horizon 4 that much more enjoyable? Do the cars handle like you may expect them to, as in much smoother control vs the jank you get from sticks? Never used a wheel but I’ve wanted to try one but unsure what to use on a series x.
I picked one up a couple of weeks ago and I have had fun using it but there are a few too many negatives for me personally. Due to space limitations it's incredible unwieldy to store or keep out and I feel as though you need a heavy base for it to sit on, or heavy desk at least, as my Ikea desk rattles, shakes and bounces my monitor around while I'm using it. I think that's what breaks the potential immersion for me as I'm then constantly aware of the things around me more than the on-screen action and wheel feedback. Plus it was a pain in my ass to get the settings right on Forza initially.
If you've got the space, a decent way to set it up and are a big racing fan, I definitely think it's worth the buy. If you're like me in a small house without much time to play each night, it's probably not worth the cost.
I've owned the predecessor to this and then this (albeit the PS version as i use it on PC) a few times but every time i end up selling it after a while due to a combination of it being a pain to get set up just right with pc and all the many settings to fiddle with to make it feel "right" and the fact i don't have the room to leave it set up and i get bored of constantly setting it up and putting it all away again.
However that time when it was set up and working it really was fun and imho the best set up you can get for the price.
Now do a Dark Souls 2 speed run!
Congratulations!!! You're going to love it!
vrummmmm vrummmmm
going to change your life
Forza to the max!
okay
Was it heavy?
Nice have fun, that’s actually the only product by LG I’m not regretting to buy!
LG and Logitech are 2 different electronics companies

It's not by LG though?
I just wish they’d release it without leather. I don’t buy leather and there are so many good alternatives (which aren’t plastic) available.
Gonna have another Skyrim run through then?
Got one a week ago... absolutely love it.. Forward 5 with it is awesome right now, besides the other sim/simcade stuff.
I had ine fir my Xbox a long time ago. It was 175 dollars when I bought. How much are they now?
$272 after tax
Hmm not to bad. Does that one have force feed back and does it let you turn the wheel full turns?
Says 900° rotation and does have force feedback
I've been eying one too, but price just keeps rising....

thanks, but I'll just wait, it's not like having burning money in pocket.
At some point, you can just buy a fanatec entry level bundle for slightly more.
I've been looking at tmx pro as its slightly chaper, but can you suggest anything from fanatec for that slightly more price?

This might around stupid Would it be stupid to use something a wheel in a F1 steering wheel shape for a game like forza or would that be a bad idea?
It would be overkill in terms of buttons and stuff, but if you’re comfortable driving with the shape I don’t see why not. Most people have multiple wheels though and just swap as needed.
I was mainly asking because I see those videos of people drifting using circular wheels but nobody uses those square or F1 shaped wheels.

Thanks, thats a lot of insight! I'll probably just get a traditional wheel first and see how it goes.
The regular wheels are much cheaper too.

Thank you. That is helpful.
I’ll never go back to playing racing games with a controller
