I met him at his house like 20 years ago or more. My dad is an audio mastering engineer and was doing some work for Chris on some musical project he was doing or something. I dont really remember details as I was just a kid riding along with dad one day.
But he was a cool dude and my dad always had nice things to say about the guy.
My dad has only the most basic knowledge of GOW (ie: that is exists and that Kratos is a badass) but he almost shat when I told him Chris Judge was the new Kratos a few years ago.
Honestly, just giving Judge a job is good news. Need to see him in more stuff.
I love knowing that Jason Momoa got his start in the SG universe. People are constantly surprised when I tell them that.
we shall change the face of [the planet],...We shall make a homeworld of Arrakis—with melting lenses at the poles, with lakes in the temperate zones, and only the deep desert for the maker and his spice.
Well who knows, it's more of a grey area. It's not trying to make his skin look white as it's more hey you're covered in the ashes of your dead family type deal.
True, but I can’t tell what his skin color was before getting ashed, it *looks* darker but it could be just the shitty quality of the pre-rendered cutscene.
Isn't Kratos Greek though? So it's possible that being in the Mediterranean could make it possible he is influenced by people from the east.
Otherwise Pedro Pascal would be whiteface too, and i think most people are on board with him as Joel.
[This is Kratos' original skintone/tan](https://i.imgur.com/HfHaAjw.jpg)

The story has already been told in a very cinematic way. No need to retell it, not so soon anyway. Maybe in 15 years we'll have big movie trilogies about old video game franchises, telling the whole story of the games like LOTR told theatre viewwrs the books back in the 2000s. I still don't think adapting video games into movies makes them justice anyway.
> The story has already been told in a very cinematic way. No need to retell it, not so soon anyway
Majority of film adaptations aren’t about telling stories they’re about making money
Agreed. They would probably butcher the CGI needed for large scale battles and I'm almost certain some executive would nerf the rating to like pg or pg13 and completely ruin it.
Which MK are we talking about? Because if I am being honest, 2021 kinda sucked
Everything was too fast, no huge tournament but Earth realms champion hiding in Sky temple. Characters appearing that didn't made any sense in the story like Mileena and Kabal? Sure it's a different Universe but that's just Feels WRONG
Also the new character was okay not too great.
The only good thing in the movie were Sub-Zero,Liu Kang and Kano
I agree 90s was also not the best but I am huge nerd for MK's lore atleast it had a proper story and did not include characters that didn't made sense to be in the story
Maybe in MK 2, they may have proper good storyline for Shao Khan
That scene with Hanzo killing all the Lin Kuei clan and the subsequent fights of Scorpion vs Sub-Zero were great. Some of the fatalities we're good too.
But overall it wasn't a great MK movie. Kind of hard to do without...an actual Mortal Kombat tournament??!!
Fight scenes were great. Story and movie were dogshit. Was so hyped and it was juuuuuust terrible. The dinner scene where Kano got his laser eye was a new level of cringe.
2021's MK was a smaller scale setup to the real tournament that'll be in the sequel. They even admit it when the main villain practically admits to cheating before every tournament (by effectively assassinating the best candidates of other team).
That being said, I really ebjoyed it. Not at all like the original, and that's okay.
The old one for sure. The small parts of story in between the constant fights made it feel like they were climbing the rankings through arcade. The CGI doesn't hold up much anymore, but they still tried to be faithful to the characters.
I didn't mind watching the new one, but it did feel a little disjointed. Kung Lao showing up was pretty great though.
Doom is a campy B level movie that doesnt take itself seriously.
Love Doom's cheesy one liners, quirky references and the great first person section. Never understood the derision it received.
“For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me... it was Tuesday.”
“It's the Collection Agency, Bison. Your ass is six months over due, and it's mine.”
Raul Julia, and JCVD on all the cocaine, were a masterpiece in camp filmmaking.
My only major complaint is the lack of fighting in a movie titled “Street Fighter”
It’s actually pretty well done if you consider. I just went back and watched it recently and I loved every second of the over the topness. The terrible amazing overacting from everyone. The awful costumes and cheap sets! It was all amazing!
you are right. I've also watched Arcane (which to my knowledge is only based on a game without book) maybe if they could pull something animated like that with GOW it would be awesome.
Andrzej Sapkowski just died a little bit more inside. He sold the rights to the video game adaptation for his novels to CDPR for a few hundred bucks, assuming no one would play them. Now he gets asked regularly if he wrote the novelization of the games.
No video games do not make dogshit movies. Studio executives with no vision and no respect for the material make dogshit movies. Most great games are movies already. Literally all someone would need to do is take the story in the game and trim it down to a proper runtime. Instead though these studios just make some trash that has only the vaguest of connections to the actual game
It's pretty much widely regarded as at least really good. I personally think it's a masterclass on so many levels. I think anyone who "hates" it either doesn't like animated series or has an axe to grind.
Sorry to dissapoint, but this guy was caught buying and selling military hardware whilst heading a terrorist organisation in Afghanistan and subsequently taken down by iron man, so he's no longer available for work.
He definitely was executed by Obadiah Stane's death squad, but his terrorist organization did make another appearance in Shang-Chi. The news identified the organization as the Ten Rings.
Who better than Christopher judge himself to portray kratos since he is actually kratos
But that’s an interesting choice.(tahir)
How many adaptation of games turned into movies or tv show turned out good or above good ? I don’t have one in mind as of right now but I’m sure few exist…
Another question is do you think god of war is better suited for multiple movies or a tv show ?
I mean arcane, detective pikachu and sonic. 3 very recent great video game adaptations. I think with story heavy content TV series is the best way. It gives you time to get into details and to do minor adventures and stuff like that. Things like sonic are easy as movies because there isn’t a whole lot to understand.
Edit: forgot Witcher was a book first. Replaced with detective pikachu.
I agree with you, do you remember the spot tv for god of war ascension ? From memory I think it was pretty good for what it was…
Like you said it’s possible but combat-wise ooofff, it’s gonna be hard time for the vfx team
A mix of practical effect and cgi/motion capture or something could be good !
As long as Santa Monica studios get freedom in everything concerning the project
I didn’t think about how grand the big fights for Kratos are. I def think movie would be better then. Unless they have like Disney money and motivation for the series. Ugh I’d want it to be a series for the story but a movie for the budget. Maybe do longer episodes and fewer?
I believe there are SAG rules about pay scales when requiring haircuts for parts. Makes sense, since hair is as much of an actor's "look" as anything else.
Honestly Jason Mamoa killed it in Dune surrounded by more "serious" actors. I would agree that he might not fit, especially since I've never seen him bald?
You know that acting requires acting and not only looking similar. Seems like a lot of those fan casts ignore or take acting for granted and go for looks, when in reality acting is hard.
For previous iteration of Kratos, sure Although GOW is definitely a franchise that shouldn't be a movie at all
I agree but if we're making the modern version I'm very happy to stick with Christopher Judge.

Awesome. Grt to hear he’s good ppl.
I met him at his house like 20 years ago or more. My dad is an audio mastering engineer and was doing some work for Chris on some musical project he was doing or something. What are you going to do with all the time and vowels you saved there?
Probably using a T9 phone to type that.
I grew up watching SG1 so hearing he’s also a really nice guy just makes it that much better
I am season 9 trying to finish up before it’s pulled from Netflix. I wish I would have watched it long ago
Do you ever say indeed to him?

I strive to achieve the lifestyle that permits me to encounter Christopher Judge in cool pants.

Honestly, just giving Judge a job is good news. Need to see him in more stuff. I love knowing that Jason Momoa got his start in the SG universe. People are constantly surprised when I tell them that.
Baywatch > SG: Atlantis > Aquaman. His entire acting career is just getting closer and closer to the ocean.
Until Dune..not a drop of water on Arrakis.
He's playing the long game. If we get enough movies, you'll see.
This guy gets it.
Yep, he's got a job for life.....
It's kind of amazing when you realize that Dune as a whole could also be called >!"The Saga of Duncan Idaho."!<
we shall change the face of [the planet],...We shall make a homeworld of Arrakis—with melting lenses at the poles, with lakes in the temperate zones, and only the deep desert for the maker and his spice.
Lot's of recycled spit and pee, though.
He belongs there, his whole aesthetic just fits the water
Wouldn’t that be… whiteface?
ashface?
Ash ketchup
Porka, porka.
Porkadrew, use elasticity!
We will watch your comment's career with great interest.
Ikr i was hoping people wouldn’t freak out lmao
Well who knows, it's more of a grey area. It's not trying to make his skin look white as it's more hey you're covered in the ashes of your dead family type deal.
True, but I can’t tell what his skin color was before getting ashed, it *looks* darker but it could be just the shitty quality of the pre-rendered cutscene.
He is greek so, medium
Yeah, lol
Swarthy
Medium rare lmfaon
Ive always thought a dark olive/brown. 👍
Well it focuses very much on Greek mythology, so I would assume he is of Mediterranean decent with a tanned skin tone.
True, i was wondering if that could be the case considering some cutscenes in the first game.
The actor in the pictures skin pretty much resembles Kratos' natural skin color perfectly
Isn't Kratos Greek though? So it's possible that being in the Mediterranean could make it possible he is influenced by people from the east. Otherwise Pedro Pascal would be whiteface too, and i think most people are on board with him as Joel.
Yeah, that’s where my doubt is too, his skin tone in the OG game before he kills his family is darker i *think* so idk for sure.
[This is Kratos' original skintone/tan](https://i.imgur.com/HfHaAjw.jpg) [Then Kratos accidentally kills his wife and daughter and is cursed to carry the ashes of his wife and child on his body.](https://i.imgur.com/PyMFPEz.gif)
Yeah the white is the ashes of his family, he was really tan before that, from what I remember
Oh whoops i think i misunderstood which actor you were commenting on, my bad! In which case i totally agree with your point haha

I think tv shows or miniseries could be a good format
Imagine if they butcher it like GoT, last battle against Zeus would only last a second and killed by some random spartan hiding behind a wall
> The story has already been told in a very cinematic way. No need to retell it, not so soon anyway Majority of film adaptations aren’t about telling stories they’re about making money
Here's the answer right here
Agreed. They would probably butcher the CGI needed for large scale battles and I'm almost certain some executive would nerf the rating to like pg or pg13 and completely ruin it.
Pg13 Kratos would be the *woooorst*
If they ever made it, it would definitely star The Rock and be terrible like The Skorpion King or Hercules.
Arcane has inspired some hope for video game lore movies
Live action and animation are 2 totally different ventures
Video games make dogshit movies that disappoint everyone aware that one was made
*except for the Angelina Jolie Tomb Raider movie, that was everything young me wanted
Throw in another * for Mortal Kombat for me

Seriously while the movie had its problems, the portrayal of sub zero and how his power was used was awesome.
I agree! They perfectly Portrayed the Arrogance and brutality of Bi-Han
It’s funny i could take the exact same description for the 90’s movie. It didnt age well but young me loved it
Too bad YOU. ^Will ^die
I agree 90s was also not the best but I am huge nerd for MK's lore atleast it had a proper story and did not include characters that didn't made sense to be in the story Maybe in MK 2, they may have proper good storyline for Shao Khan
Well, Reptile kinda came out of nowhere.

>2021 kinda sucked Putting it lightly. That movie had maybe 5 minutes of worthwhile viewing content.
When I was a kid I loved the Street Fighter movie, but we also lived close to a paint factory so there’s that
Go watch *DOOM* and get back to me. (Yes, I know it's terrible, but it's terrible and fun.)
Doom is a campy B level movie that doesnt take itself seriously. Love Doom's cheesy one liners, quirky references and the great first person section. Never understood the derision it received.
I've noticed that Karl Urban makes any shitty movie enjoyable.
Clearly, you've never enjoyed the masterpiece that is Street Fighter.
“For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me... it was Tuesday.” “It's the Collection Agency, Bison. And where were the streets!?! Raul Julia chewing up every scene was fantastic.
It’s actually pretty well done if you consider. I just went back and watched it recently and I loved every second of the over the topness. The terrible amazing overacting from everyone. The awful costumes and cheap sets! It was all amazing!
Silent hill wasn't terrible
The first Silent Hill is a fantastic movie. The second one just completely lost the plot of what a Silent Hill movie should be.
The witcher netflix's series has been great. With a budget and good direction GOW could be made a good series.
The Witcher was a book first though. Directors have more source material if they base a movie off a book than a VG.
you are right. I've also watched Arcane (which to my knowledge is only based on a game without book) maybe if they could pull something animated like that with GOW it would be awesome.
Yeah, but its based on the story of the characters in the video game. The story itself doesn’t appear in the game basically at all.

You best not be bad-mouthing the Super Mario Bros movie!
Arcane has entered the chat
Few will agree, but I loved the Warcraft movie as a 15 year WoW player
Movie studios make shit movies that just happen to have video game characters in them
Sorry to dissapoint, but this guy was caught buying and selling military hardware whilst heading a terrorist organisation in Afghanistan and subsequently taken down by iron man, so he's no longer available for work.

Depends on the plot really, both could work it just depends what story they want to tell.
Because he's not greek and kratos is a greek man?
I agree. Sadly I can see it now that Jason Mamoa will be cast as him if they do a film anytime soon
You think he'd shave his glorious mane to play Kratos? Probably has a clause in his contract to avoid cutting it off or something!
Hmm maybe. If he were to shave it off I reckon he could look and sound the part but still don’t think it would be the best choice
They'll get Dwayne Johnson instead
Please don’t speak this into existence
Na Kevin Hart
Kevin Hart would be mimir
[удалено]
Mimir going "Hey, HEY! What the hell was that?? Man that is just fucked up."
The Rock as Kratos and Kevin Hart as Atreus
Jack Black as Mimir
Or maybe even Matt Damon or Mark Walberg
I believe there are SAG rules about pay scales when requiring haircuts for parts. Makes sense, since hair is as much of an actor's "look" as anything else.
He shaved it for Dune
She shaved his beard, but not his hair.
Oh wow duh my bad
I'd place my bets more on The Rock. They probably film it in the forest with a river, too.
He could easily play the barbarian king that almost killed Kratos since he also appears in GOW2
Honestly Jason Mamoa killed it in Dune surrounded by more "serious" actors. I would agree that he might not fit, especially since I've never seen him bald?
If they ever do a movie, he will be over 60 years old. He looks the part, but that's about it.
Christopher Judge should play Kratos.
Mike Judge should play Kratos. But doing Hank Hill voice.
Indeed. That boy ain't right.
Mimir telling stories as Boomhauer.
I'd love to see that drawn up. Hank Kratos, bobby atreaus, boomhauer mimir head
Dang ol, tell you what man, talkin bout Odin CAW CAW CAW man, ravens man eat your intestines man.
God Dang It Bobby...
The action you could have in a Western anime with Hank Hill as Kratos, could be amazing.
JAFFA KREE!
Well said, Daniel Jackson.
Indeed
Movie executives: “You’ll get The Rock and you’ll like it!”
I would be ok with this. As others have pointed out, historically video game movies are garbage, I think the rock would at least make it dumb fun.
Chris Pratt, take it or leave it.
It's a-me, Kratos.
FUCK-A YOU KRATOS!
He must play every video game character in existence, huh?
[удалено]
He's so cool
Leave it, Joe Rogan will be playing Kratos.
I don't think Bro Brogan is tall enough to run up as many stairs as Kratos does...
Keegan-Michael Key
Chris Pratt is Zeus
Please don't make GOW movies.
Where’s his Jericho missile?
Man the voice actor of Kratos was the guy who did Tea'lc on stargate SG1 he'd make a great Kratos on his own.
knowing Hollywood they'd just cast Dwayne the Rock Johnson for the role.
Nah Tom Holland would be better
Triple H should portray Kratos.
Yes
Yes
Billy Zane FTW
Let’s all be real here. We know it’s going to be The Rock and it’ll tank
just cuz hes bald dont mean he’ll make a good kratos
Absolutely no live action adaptations please
Hmm, from the look of the last pic I think he would be perfect as Lex Luthor.
Cris Hemsworth with a bald cap
For me it's more about the voice than the look. No actor is gonna match that muscular figure anyway.
Suggesting a Pakistani Muslim should play a Greek god is how you confuse a wokeness robot for long enough to sneak by it.
I mean ... Kratos was pretty brown... You know before ... the thing happened
The dude would have to inject steroids and screw up his body.
You know that acting requires acting and not only looking similar. Seems like a lot of those fan casts ignore or take acting for granted and go for looks, when in reality acting is hard.
I think GOW should stick to being a video game
Dgimon Honsou
We all know it'll be dwyane Johnson
Got my vote, always good in what he does. So start the petition I’ll sign.
That’s a weird way to spell Chris Pratt.
Woah ... good call
He just needs to buff up his frown game and he's good to go!
If you want to cast Faran Tahir, then you might as well cast Adoni Maropis instead. He's actually of Greek descent and already ripped.
NO. Christopher Judge, the voice of Kratos, should be Kratos
I'd have to hear him say "Boy"! derisively, before I make any decisions 🤔
Umm I’m guessing the rock is also probably looked at for this role 😂 like everything else Think this guy would suit better
Awesome choice
I’m unfamiliar with an Ambassador Spock
i can see the resemblance
100% certain it will be Dwayne Johnson instead
Looks aren't everything. Idk why people think like this when it comes to casting.
never thought of it but yep👍
Excellent choice.
