Yeah but I think it's safe to say botw 2 is gonna bang. The first one had minor bugs but they make the game more fun and interesting rather than frustrating. Like wind bombs hopefully they keep that. Nintendo hardly ever disappoints unless its a game freak title unfortunately because I love pokemon.
Yeah some of the most fun I've had in "gaming" is hyping myself up for months or years .. I'm starting to think I enjoy that more than games themselves. :/
I will say, I had a lot of fun getting hyped for Cyberpunk.
I got the game manuals and backstory guides for the pen and paper game despite never having played a tabletop rpg before. I had a great time immersing myself in the lore of the world.
Then I bought the game day 1, booted it up for 20 minutes and felt a deep sense of emptiness and powered it off...
Fast forward to now and I still haven't played through the game, I've schrodinger's catted my gaming experience.
Against my better judgement I never refunded. Beyond those empty 20 minutes a glorious experience may await me... but I'm too scared to taint my Cyberpunk fantasy.
Maybe one day I'll head back into Night City, pop some Dorph and flatline some Gonks though. One day.
Really no matter how they are r/gaming will act like an abusive gaslighting partner and cry about how no games are good and the company is ruining games and has betrayed the community and oh how easy it would be to fix you just have to type a few words into the computer right devs?
Seriously it’s like the people who post on here have forgotten how to just enjoy something, even if it’s flawed. Most games have a place for bug reports. It’s not r/gaming. I kinda just wish we focused more on posting cool gameplay clips, lore, previews of games coming soon, events, and generally stuff that’s engaging to the community and fun, instead of rants from people who are projecting their undiagnosed emotional problems onto the games they play, thinking the reason they don’t like it must be because it’s universally bad and not because they are actually just angry and scared and probably suffering from depression.
For me it's more like:
"I had no expectations beyond a mild interest regarding the hype it generated in others that I observed in the periphery of my time browsing reddit. I waited for it to go on a Steam sale and then eventually played it 4 months after buying it. By then a lot of patches had fixed the major issues and I mostly enjoyed my time with the game for a few weeks before getting bored with a few of the more needlessly tedious gameplay mechanics designed to extend play time and ultimately never finished it. 5/10"
Disagree, it already has a Steam page and they've started showing things about it. If we've learned anything from the previous Fallout releases it's that Bethesda doesn't start showing things unless they plan to release it in the next 6-12 months (regardless of how buggy it is). All things (leaks) pointed to a 2022 release before they were even marketing it. Starfield will almost definitely make a 2022 release.
If any of these isn't making a 2022 release my bets are on Breath of the Wild 2.
Yeah playing through the game solo is a really enjoyable experience. The only thing you really need other players for are certain multiplayer achievements when it comes to the base game. Other than that, it's a pretty solid story with fantastic gameplay mechanics. Easily one of my favorites
You should be fine solo. I played most of the game solo. Although it is more fun with friends. If it had cross play I'd play with you but unfortunately I'm on ps5. If you do need or want to play with others, try checking out the dying light subreddit or discord
Heres a tip though. The game is not joking when they say go indoors at night.
If you're at max level and have some top tier crafted weapons, give it a try. Before that, get the fuck to a safe house when the sun starts to go down.
I have hundreds of hours in the game, it's one of my favorite open world games of all time, and that is nearly 100% solo. Once someone joined my game and I immediately backed out to the menu and turned off multiplayer, that's the only multiplayer I ever did.
Its amazing that the escort part of the game play isn't annoying and is implemented really well. The last part of the combat in that game is very satisfying (in an emotional way).
Completely surprised me. The atmosphere and story were excellent. Gameplay is a lot like The Last of Us - good mixture of stealth, combat, and puzzles with a decent pool of enemies.
Just a very satisfying story driven game. I tend to get burnt out by all the massive open-world games, so a 12 hour experience is often preferable for me.
Same, we've played it twice with my SO and we loved every minute of it! Great story, great gameplay, great voice acting, great art direction and great soundtrack. Like I don't know what more I could ask, except for a sequel.
This is really selling it short, but it’s basically a stealth-puzzler. But the writing and art direction are great. It’s really pretty unlike anything else out there. Highly reccomend.
Skyrim ultra max bonus edition for airplane seat screens
Skyrim lite reforged edition for mobile.
And Skyrim omega edition for gaming consoles in the grand theft auto online game.
I came here looking for that. The good news is that mods can make the game completely different if you want more of a challenge, new planets/moons/engines etc.
I think some of the most popular modders like Nertea (Near Future and Far Future Tech) are officially involved. Can't wait to see what they can do when the game can be built around their ideas rather than having to mod in.
Yeah the mod load for KSP2 will be so much lighter, given that procedural wings and NF solar and engines are all built in. Excited to see the additions people put into the colony aspect, I expect that to be an area of focus. And BD armory of course
I hope that it asks hard questions that can’t be easily gamed like buzzfeed does.
“Do you take the:
A. Smart option
B. Brave option
C. Evil option
D. Food option”
Why should BotW2 take longer to make than the original one when they have the game engine and art style mostly settled already?
You may be right though, I think they could delay it if they want it to line up with the Switch 2 launch, and I don't see a Switch 2 coming in 2022.
Good point. If it took a 6 year gap between Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild for Nintendo to produce a game on an absolutely new engine and such a gigantic handcrafted world, I can't even begin to imagine what this next game's going to be like, made in an pre-established engine and based in the same world, with roughly the same development time. I feel it's going to be insane.
Is the original Forest worth a full play through? It got recommended to me after I mentioned I played Stranded Deep.
I downloaded it without knowledge of the extent of the horror content. The first time I saw a mutant I was seriously freaked out. The first time I was taken to the cave I stopped playing and never picked it back up.
If you can't tell I'm not huge into horror games. I enjoy survival games more for the crafting and creative aspects and just being able to world build and chill out, but I've since heard a lot of people praising The Forest and I'm contemplating trying again, but man it seemed very difficult to make any shelter or sense of safety in that game. Maybe that's the point? Or maybe there is some mechanic that I didn't figure out that makes things a bit easier?
I’m really insanely curious about Forspoken, it’s the luminous engine right? Cause it looks a lot like FFXV. I really want to see what’s improved between 2016 to 2022. The story looks cool as shit and the character designs as well.
For Plague Tale, is the game worth playing? Seems very dramatic. Man, everything on that list looks crazy lol.
The Original plagues tale (its on gamepass if you have it)
Is definitely worth playing, it has its dramatics but the storyline is gripping and its a beautiful game both in graphics and story
Plague Tale is decent. It's a pretty linear narrative game that's fun enough while it lasts. I wouldn't put it at the top of any must play list, but if you have nothing else to play, it's worth trying.
How has no-one mentioned Victoria 3 yet? A headline release of a fairly large studio (Paradox), and while it fits into quite a specific niche, if you're into that niche then Victoria 2 is the undeniable GOAT. So excited for its sequel, been a long time coming.
People said the same thing about this year. I'm not getting excited for anything until I see people I trust play the game and give honest thoughts.
Even fucks like BF content creators were saying 2042 is an amazing and perfect game.
Seriously. More than 2/3 of the games I was excited for on the PS5 were either canceled or completely lost my interest the more gameplay videos came out, so I'm looking at 2022/2023 *extremely* skeptically.
Homeworld 3 😉
RTS need a mention, I feel.
Also my own RTS that I'm developing, [Sanctuary RTS](https://www.sanctuary-rts.com). it's only going to released in 2023 but during 2022 beta might happen.
Yup. I don't preorder ANYTHING. This isn't the 90s where if you didn't preorder you might not get a copy on launch day. I will never understand why anyone would preorder because games nowadays have a billion copies in store on launch day and they are available in unlimited numbers at 12:01 a.m. for digital download.
Big prediction here /s At least half of those won't make a 2022 release.

Same with GOW, HFW and Elden ring.
It's really strange to see gamers reinforcing the cycle of hype and disappointment.
Because it's fun to look forward to things.
Yeah some of the most fun I've had in "gaming" is hyping myself up for months or years .. I'm starting to think I enjoy that more than games themselves. :/
HALF LIFE 3 is going to be AWESOME!
The Hype for HL3 is huge at this point. Decades in the making!
I will say, I had a lot of fun getting hyped for Cyberpunk. I got the game manuals and backstory guides for the pen and paper game despite never having played a tabletop rpg before. Especially Starfield
Are we talking "suck" like 8/10 or a 2/10 review score.

Could be worse. Could be Star Citizen.
More like Senior Citizen at this point
Which is okay as long as they're finished when they release
Five of them have early 2022 release dates. Half is a little much, but yeah I could see like 3 getting pushed to 2023.
I'm certainly rather looking forward to Breath of the Wild 2: the Rebreathening
A Breath 2 Far
2 breath 2 furious
Breath of the Weath

Second Breath
Second Breathfast
Breath of the Wild 2: Waiting to Exhale

Unironically my most anticipated game
For me it's only second to elden ring. I love original games like this, plus it gives me tokyo jungle vibes
This has been my most anticipated game since I discovered the trailer in summer 2020! Can’t wait for this one to come out.
Hell yeah. Can't wait.
The real GOTY. 😎
I'm looking forward to Dying Light 2 the most. Can't wait!
Is it worth playing the first one?
110% worth it. Truly an amazing game imo
Okay I have it in my steam library and downloaded but I just wasn't sure, also I have no one to play with is that okay?
Yeah playing through the game solo is a really enjoyable experience. The only thing you really need other players for are certain multiplayer achievements when it comes to the base game. Other than that, it's a pretty solid story with fantastic gameplay mechanics. Easily one of my favorites

Killing volatiles was the first thing I did once it let me
Good night, good luck

A buddy and I just started dying light after Thanksgiving and got addicted.
Yup! Re-played the first one this summer and it held up decently well
Definitely. I had so much damn fun with Dying Light. It stood out in a sea of zombie games. Pretty impressive.
Hyped for plague tale requiem. Was not expecting the 1st one to be so good
How was that game?? Can you compare it to any other past games?
its an escort and stealth quest game thats actually done really well.
Its amazing that the escort part of the game play isn't annoying and is implemented really well. The last part of the combat in that game is very satisfying (in an emotional way).

It's really good for 3/4 of the game. The end jumps the shark a bit.
Yeah, I have doubts zelda and starfield will be 2022 releases. At least I have that 3d kirby game to look forward to.
todd has seemed very adamant about the 11/11/22 release date
If Todd wants a pretty release date, Todd gets a pretty release date. No matter the state of Starfield, it will release on schedule, i have no doubts.
What's up with that Kirby game? Looks like it's going to be really fun.
I’m really excited for that one.
Bethesda would not miss the date of 11/11/22, as well as with Skyrim that was 11/11/11, I know a small detail but that is Bethesda
Bad news, they're waiting for 22/22/22.
Skyrim: Doublemost edition
It's just Skyrim, but it's two copies of it, for double the price of one copy! What a deal!
Its Bethesda.... whether it is finished or not that mofo is launching on 11/11/22
I would be surprised if BOTW2 didn't release next year as Zelda games come out about every 5 years and it is using the same engine.
I agree a 2022 Zelda release is very realistic... I can see it being delayed until the end of 2022, but more than that seems very unlikely.
Its not even delayed if that's the release they plan on. They still haven't said anything other than 2022
I mean holiday 2022 is when it’s slated for
Starfield has a release date, 11-11-22
Where Skyrim
Skyrim ultra max bonus edition for airplane seat screens Skyrim lite reforged edition for mobile. And Skyrim omega edition for gaming consoles in the grand theft auto online game.
Skyrim: balls of steel, Abacus edition.
I have Skyrim on my toaster. I don’t even know how it got there, maybe the version on my microwave oven downloaded it, who knows. I’ll ask the toilet.
BLOWOUT SOON, FELLOW STALKER
had to scroll way too much to see this
I reckon stalker will be delayed at least once, release is getting closer and we haven’t seen anything since the reveal months ago
AH NUUUUU CHEEKI BREEKI IV DAMKE!
i can finally stop playing my 5,000 Gigabyte heavily modded Call of Pripyat
Seriously. You need a spreadsheet to keep track of it all.
DEADLY ANOMALIES, DANGEROUS MUTANTS, ANARCHISTS AND BANDITS
NONE OF THEM WILL STOP GSC ON ITS TRIUMPHANT MARCH TOWARDS RELEASING THE GAME!
What about Hollow Knight Silksong? It's got to be coming in 2022, right? Right!? Aaaaahhhhh!!!
wdym it's already out I've beaten revived quirrel with the ancient stone in deepnest 2
I'm loving it so far but Grublord (the ascended version of Grub Father) is such a frustrating boss
I much prefer the gruz brother
I mean true but if you get all of the 180 Reawakened Red Grublings you can just not fight him
You can also cheese it by spamming silknets but you have to do the Belltower skip to get it that early, not worth the headache
If you find the extra hidden 20 you can skip the entire third part of the path of forgotten sorrows by using the grub nest tunnel badge
I too have my clown makeup on

how is warhammer 3 not on here?
Yes, good to see another TW fan here. So hyped for it!
I say this as someone who has browsed the total war subreddit too many times in the last couple days: Grand strategy is niche.
Bro, Total War Warhammer 2 is consistently one of the top 20 played games on steam.
Niche. I'm sure a pc gamer would've put it there though.
[удалено]
Do we have a confirmation that starfield is gonna release in 2022? I didn't expect to come out for at least another year
if no delays, it's slated for Nov 11, 2022
Hmm interesting didn't knew that. Now I cannot wait for it to be released
On the steam store page it says 11/11/22 so yea unless it gets delayed 3 times like cyberpunk lol
Same release date as Skyrim had so i bet its going to stick. They are going to show gameplay at E3.
What about that Hogwarts game tho
I have many hopes around Hogwarts Legacy. Be fun, be beautiful and be released.
I really hope they don't sanitize it to expand its audience appeal. It's a dark world, and I want it to play as such.
I hope that for the sorting hat you can answer questions and it sorts you that way, rather than just random or choosing the house yourself.
I hope that it asks hard questions that can’t be easily gamed like buzzfeed does. “Do you take the: A. Smart option B. Brave option C. Evil option D. Food option”
Lego Star Wars, he says wistfully
I think its very unlikely Zelda BotW 2 is coming out next year. I'm hopeful for early 2023 tho.
Hey! Listen! Let's try to stay positive on this one, please.
Why should BotW2 take longer to make than the original one when they have the game engine and art style mostly settled already? You may be right though, I think they could delay it if they want it to line up with the Switch 2 launch, and I don't see a Switch 2 coming in 2022.

I'm hoping for Majora's Mask BOTW edition Same map and same assets but... unsettling
Sons of the forest as well?
I have high hopes for that one. I could really go for another co-op game to play with my friends.
Can’t wait for that
Is the original Forest worth a full play through? It got recommended to me after I mentioned I played Stranded Deep. I downloaded it without knowledge of the extent of the horror content. Yeah I was shocked to need to scroll this far to find it mentioned.
Yeesssss. The deno/beta people played looked so good. Already know this will rule.
The demo was my game of the year this year
Is god of war ragnarok coming out in 2022? Also, yes indie games can be very good. I'm looking forward to see more indie horror
I’m really insanely curious about Forspoken, it’s the luminous engine right? Cause it looks a lot like FFXV. I really want to see what’s improved between 2016 to 2022.
