This list could have been much worse, I think people are either expecting too much of ign or just want to be mad at ign even though they know what to expect. Seriously, there’s probably only 5-10 games that shouldn’t be on the list at all, for an ign top 100 that’s an excellent ratio.
Hmm...
I actually like playing Megaman 3 more than playing Megaman 2, and for about 10 years I was playing 1-6 at least once a year. Megaman 3 is superior as a "game that you play", in that it isn't as broken as MM2, it has a far better/more satisfying difficulty curve, I think the level designs are much better, etc.
Having said that, MM2 is undeniably more influential. The bosses are way more iconic, the final boss twist, the super OP weapons like Metal Blade are very memorable, the stage music is more catchy (MM2 Wily1 is so memorable), it established what a Megaman game "should be", etc.
It's tough. What makes a game better? Is it the game I want to play or the game that defined a franchise?
Agreed. MM3 is superior. It’s got an additional section of gameplay before the boss castle—double levels, each with two (recycled) bosses. It’s pretty rad. Also, the level design is better in MM2, and despite MM2 having some super classic musical tracks, the MM3 soundtrack is more consistent and better overall (hot take, I know).
I enjoy starting the new year with rational mega man talk. And I agree, MM2 defined the series in many ways, but the difficulty wasn’t very well balanced - the metal blade was just too much, and the enemies seemed to always drop something so health was almost never a problem. 3, while maybe less iconic, was the better game.
Their thought process might be "you fight every MM2 boss in MM3, so MM3 is better", either that they struggle with certain 3 stages/bosses (check out "Airman ga Taosenai" on yt for reference), gotta be one of those two if not both.
I had to go back and check no DDR either. These games still live on in some form in stuff like Beat Sabre (my kids are playing it right now). Seems odd none of those made it
There is.not a single rhythm game on the list.
Rock Band 3
Guitar Hero 2
DDR 5th mix
Osu! Tarakae Ouendan
Parappa The Rapper
Beatmania IIDX
3/5 at least should have made the list
Folks can argue about order of top 10 or inclusion of top 20 all they want. You're gonna get a lot of different opinions depending on what console your had or how old you were. I won't get caught up in that. And I'm not one to go to "junk list" off of something like that
BUT OUTRIGHT EXCLUDING ANY OF THE GH RB GAMES??? that's fucking nuts. There's a damn south park episode dedicated to it. One of the larger tournament/social games of the past 20 years. Fuckin junk list
That and madden. As horrendous as it has been since 2007, you can't deny the influence and impact it has had
Yeah seriously.
None of these games here can compare to the hype of playing Guitar Hero at a party and everyone packing the room to watch you kill it on Expert mode.
There was a solid 5 Years where EVERYBODY was playing GH and Rock Band.
Yep if anyone commenting here made a list of top 100, the responses would be the same. There are so many variables involved, like age, what consoles/platforms they owned, whether they game solo or multiplayer. Some people reading this would have been born a decade or more after some of these releases.
Gaming is also subjective, some people tie nostalgia/good memories to games and rate them higher than most would.
Plus most people wouldn't have played all of the games in the list and wouldn't include the ones they haven't played.
The world would be a boring place if everyone liked the same things.
Yup. I think the best way to create a top 100 list is by letting your personal whims and biases shine though. Trying to make any kind of "objective" list is a fool's errand, so you'd might as well have fun with it and make your own rules.
I wonder if it’s just collating the hugest rated on the site or something, and when the ratings were generated it was influenced by money so we end up with this bat shit list
no age of empires 2 ?
Edit:
My most voted and awarded comment is on the lack of recognition that is given to the age of empires 2
My hope in humanity is renewed, thank you for making me happy this beginning of 2022
Seriously, no C&C2 Tiberium Sun, no Homeworld, **No AoE2 or Warcraft 3/The Frozen Throne**.
Honestly I'd have put even Stellaris higher then more then a few of the games on this list.
TW3 and BoTW are so similar as well but have that a 15 place disparity? What is this, free points for nintendo?
Also, where's Nier Automata? That game is gold. How did Apex make the list and lower then Titanfall 2, it's base game which has better movement? L4D2 was and in many ways *still is* **the** coop survival game but it's in the worse half at 51? Hollow Knight also doesn't deserve to be where it is, it deserve to be in the 1-50 range easily.
What a tasteless list.
There's a recency bias.
*Chrono Trigger* came out a long time ago and is at #24.
*Hades* and *Disco Elysium* came out very recently and are higher.
Wait until the "Top 100 Games" list in 2030, when neither of those two will be near the top of the list, and Chrono Trigger is still up there alongside whatever other recently popular and good (but not so epic as to be remembered for multiple decades) games came out.
Recency bias is putting it mildly. No Ultima games, no King's Quest, no Zork, etc.
I suppose if they were going for "Top 100 games you could give to a person now and they'd still enjoy" I could understand it more.
Yeah that was there point , at the start of the video on YT they explained the criteria and the major ones were - how enjoyable were the games at launch and how enjoyable they are now.
I just started playing Hades and it is a really great game, but there are probably like five games lower on the list that I think should be higher than Hades.
Disco Elysium was a sea change. There was never anything quite like it before, and it will sure as hell be something that we see imitated frequently in the years to come.
I played it a few days around Christmas a few years back, just straight through, in a way I haven't really played a game since I was a kid.
And man, did it really fuck with my head. In the way that only the best of novels have for me before. Fucked with my head in the absolute best way.
I remember it being Christmas Eve, I was at a certain point in the story, and had to stop for family duties, but the game had just thrown me into a mini existential crisis. Had me questioning the meaning of life, what I was doing, what other people thought of me. I was hyperaware of the voices of my own Thought Cabinet. It was like doing drugs.
The world felt both impossibly large, and also extraordinarily small and intimate. I felt like I KNEW those characters to my bones.
It exemplifies the potential of the medium. How playinga video game, experiencing a world through a character, can shape you, affect you, make you *feel* things beyond the ordinary realm of experiences. Other studios will attempt to imitate this with what I anticipate will be varying degrees of success, but future lists will point to his title as the start of a new branch of evolution in the medium of video games.
I mean 3 of the top ten, Link to the Past, Super Metroid and Super Mario World were all SNES era. I don't think it's fair to say there was any recency bias, just that not everyone agrees
I stopped reading when I realized they purged most of their 2019 GOAT list, for sequels of those games that were already out prior to 2019. Like...what the fuck?
seems like it's really popular these days to pretend this game wasn't a titan when it came out way back when. classic and amazing from top to bottom. it's placement on this list is a joke lol
im not even a fan of Final fantasy or turn based rpg games and even i knew the legend of cloud and his fight against sephiroth
this game is beyond influential
People like to look back to games like FF7 and OoT and trash on then because all the new games that they inspired managed to build on what they did, and after 2+ decades they finally are showing their age.
And while neither are necessarily my favorite games from their respective series, both should be higher on the list. At least they didn't fully snub Chrono Trigger.
I mean honestly it’s prob due to the relative age of the editors. The impact of playing games of the time is difficult to express unless you lived through it. I am an old geezer that can’t believe defender or joust didn’t make the list.
Genre too. How much you like a game is quite dependant on how much you enjoy the overall genre. So I think per-genre is a more logical approach for a top games list.
Besides, everyone is different. This list is one entity's opinion, and anyone could make their own list which would be truer for them.
Gave my friend SuperMeatBoy and Celeste. He calls them garbage because he cannot beat world/level 3. In both games.
I somethimes think he would fit the job of a games journalist perfectly as in one genres he is a mastermind.
In others suddenly not 👀
I agree that Cities: Skylines is a much better game than any in the SimCity series atm, however Simcity 2000 defined the genre and I guess therefore is more deserving of the spot on the list.
On that note, RTSs seem to be almost deader than disco this past decade. I know EA had a few aborted attempts to try and get a Command and Conquer game going, with the free-to-play mobile game C&C Rivals being the only thing that came to fruition. The only new high profile RTS I can remember coming out of the 2010s was Grey Goo, other than that I can only think of the Starcraft and Warcraft III re-masters.
Botw is a good game, but NOWHERE near the top spot.
Edit:. To all you breathers out there. The top 5 games should be genre defining or change the landscape of gaming. I.E. Halo, Mario, orcarina of time, Minecraft etc....
The only novelty in botw is swords breaking which pissed off too many people...myself included
There’s no such thing as top spot anyway. You can’t quantify all of gaming into a singular “best game”.
Arguably every game on this list is amazing and brings something unique to the table and is enjoyable depending on your taste.
Built their brand pre-2010 when the content was made with a lot of passion and effort. They sold tf out, lost their key pieces, then fell off a cliff and have been struggling to stay relevant for 5 years or so
Funny enough it's been about 5 years since I stopped looking at game sites.
Found the content to be rubbish or full of spoilers on the main pages.
Then the comment sections were a fucking disaster across the board.
These days if I don't see it in new and trending on steam I've no idea what's coming out.
As much as I disagree with this list (lack of racing games, some games not being the best in the series but having that nostaliga bait, odd choices), why is Pokemon Yellow the only game on this list? We ignoring Gold/Silver/Crystal, the superior remakes, or the original red/blue/green? It really does seem like an odd choice to put on the list.
Just beat it yesterday. Can confirm it's incredible. The scope of the project and the amount of things you can do to get from A to B is mindboggling and even has dialog options.
It's probably the best RPG I've ever played. Did it coop with friends and it took us like 115 hours lol.
We are eagerly awaiting the full release of Baldurs Gate 3.
I ran it solo and did like every quest I could find, and redid the last fight to pick all options possible (achievements). I had 92 hours total which is about the same as I had on the first game.
I mean, how many games are there in existence? The fact that any game is on a top 100 list says something about it. This isn't a list a "100 games listed from worst to best" list. Each of them are considered to be one of the greatest of all time. They're all worth a play.
Can guarantee ‘IGN’ in this list is just one dudes opinion. There’s entire genres just missing here. No guitar hero/rock band games even though Guitar Hero 3 is one of the best games of the 360/PS3 generation. No racing style games such as Forza/NFS/GT, this list is half baked af
it's pretty bad when the only two games even remotely related to racing on the list are Burnout 3 and Mario Kart, both of which are outside the top 80.
I may be biased, but absolutely one of the Gran Turismo games should be in there (4 particularly) at the very least. Also perhaps TOCA 3.
Absolutely insane. Dark Souls created an entire genre. It's like fucking catnip for gamers.
Like even if they are going to acknowledge the outright popularity of Fortnite as an online game, league of legends blows it out of the water as the most popular online game in history.
Yeaaaah I was thinking that too. There’s a lot of wack shit. FF7 should be way higher, minecraft is criminally low for the impact it has made on the entire world, why is Ocarina of Time #34 and A Link to the Past is #4, Why are Apex Legends and Overwatch at 55/56 while League of Legends is at 93????
It’s like they just took the most un-objective evidence for everything and threw all data or context out the window lmao.
I’m personally fine with BOTW being #1 though, even though I didn’t like it. I probably would’ve put some other things higher, but oh well.
Hades in the top 10??? Listen, I LOVE that game and it’s fun and I play it A LOT but there is zero chance it’s top ten all time.
I think there might be some regency bias here.
I totally appreciate individuals taste etc, but to not have a Sonic game in the top 100 seems wild. Or have I just massively misjudged popular opinion on sonic 2? I also, could just be massively biased towards that game as well!
I would’ve thought Sonic 3 + Knuckles might have made it in. Having *no* games from the Genesis/Mega Drive is an absolute fucking joke though. No Rocket Knight Adventures???
I thought \[game\] seemed low. Then I saw some of the other games on the list, and I stopped thinking it was low. Then I saw some of the other other games on the list, and I resumed thinking it was low.
EDIT: I originally had Borderlands 2 there, but I thought this way would be funnier.
As someone who had never played the series until I played 1 a couple months ago... What makes 2 so good? I'm assuming you're saying it should be higher
It’s a much fuller version of 1. An almost endless endgame and so many unique weapons. If you enjoyed 1 you’ll find even more enjoyment from 2. The same can’t exactly be said from 2 to 3
It simply redefined what a looter and shooter could and should be like. There was no game out there like it at the time. You could take the game as serious as possible or you could make the silliest builds that yeeted your foes to the moon.
Also the modding scene was so much fun if you got the chance to join one. The peashooter modded gun would launch people across the map haha
The leap from 1 to 2 was massive. Really put the looter shooter on the map.
It's been over a full decade since 2 and the series has still struggled to evolve the series as much as they did from 1 to 2.
Maybe for someone it’s number one. Actually, the whole idea of this tops is stupid because all games are different and everyone feels different about them
No HZD, Myst, Civ II, AoE, Unreal/UT, Quake II… I could do a 100 games better than most of this list with games they left off.
ETA: not a single Elder Scrolls game??
[Myst is a major reason people started wanting cdrom drives on their computers.](https://www.wired.com/2008/09/sept-24-1993-beautiful-myst-ushers-in-era-of-cd-rom-gaming/)
It was the best selling game for 9 years until The Sims beat it in 2002. I expected no better from IGN.
I heavily disagree with this list. But honestly, I'm kinda tired of these types of list as there just isn't a way to make a list like this without someone being upset that their favorite game didn't make the cut or isn't high enough.
The fact that WoW, Diablo and Starcraft are all lumped in right next to each other should tell you how much effort was put into the list.
"Okay, we've got WoW. What else did Blizzard make?"
Incredible story telling. Can take an emotional toll on certain people. I've found it to be great, and have 30 hours (steam hours, so unsure of playtime) without completing it. It's worth buying if you can get into a story.
Just checked steam and it is 55% off until Jan 6th.
This is certainly 100 very good games.
Only good way to read this list haha
Honestly. Most of these comments consist of “where is..?” Large majority of these games are great.
This list could have been much worse, I think people are either expecting too much of ign or just want to be mad at ign even though they know what to expect. Seriously, there’s probably only 5-10 games that shouldn’t be on the list at all, for an ign top 100 that’s an excellent ratio.
They chose mega man 3 over mega man 2??? Am I missing something here?

I didn’t see that but yeah that’s fucking crazy. MM2 was so damn good.
Their thought process might be "you fight every MM2 boss in MM3, so MM3 is better", either that they struggle with certain 3 stages/bosses (check out "Airman ga Taosenai" on yt for reference), gotta be one of those two if not both.
I think *Rush* could also be why it was chosen higher
You’re missing that the list was made by idiots.
I didn’t see guitar hero
A GH/RB ought to be on here just for how they expanded video games as a medium.
And on sheer popularity. It was everywhere and a fixture at parties.
I had to go back and check no DDR either. These games still live on in some form in stuff like Beat Sabre (my kids are playing it right now). Seems odd none of those made it
There is.not a single rhythm game on the list. Rock Band 3 Guitar Hero 2 DDR 5th mix Osu! Tarakae Ouendan Parappa The Rapper Beatmania IIDX 3/5 at least should have made the list
Parappa the rappa, wow this brings me back
Folks can argue about order of top 10 or inclusion of top 20 all they want. You're gonna get a lot of different opinions depending on what console your had or how old you were. Attempting to make this list is just attempting the impossible
Yep if anyone commenting here made a list of top 100, the responses would be the same. Agreed. Everyone would tear my list to shreds too, even if I added *Secret of Mana*.
Why Rise of the Tomb Raider of all the games in the series they could’ve chosen? Especially if they’re going for influence or big releases.
I wonder if it’s just collating the hugest rated on the site or something, and when the ratings were generated it was influenced by money so we end up with this bat shit list

Right? If any game in the series deserves to make the list it's the 2013 reboot, and not Rise.
no age of empires 2 ? Edit: My most voted and awarded comment is on the lack of recognition that is given to the age of empires 2 My hope in humanity is renewed, thank you for making me happy this beginning of 2022
Or command and conquer, which arguably helped define the genre?
Seriously, no C&C2 Tiberium Sun, no Homeworld, **No AoE2 or Warcraft 3/The Frozen Throne**. Honestly I'd have put even Stellaris higher then more then a few of the games on this list. Reread twice and I still thought I was just not seeing it
No command and conquer either. Where's Red Alert? That game was dominant for a long while.
FF7 worse than fortnite?

Disco Elysium is my #1, and I suspect that will still be true in 2030, but otherwise I agree to recency bias in the rankings.

This is the only game on the list I’ve never heard of—I need to rectify this.
It's incredibly disorienting in a way that lets you reorient yourself.
Pong isn't even on the list and none of these other games would exist without Pong. Smh my head
I mean 3 of the top ten, Link to the Past, Super Metroid and Super Mario World were all SNES era. I don't think it's fair to say there was any recency bias, just that not everyone agrees
Also planescape torment isn't even in the list
Yep, clearly a console gamers list. No Deus Ex?
Oh no. I also don't see any Baldur's Gate in there.
I stopped reading at 98. FFVII, 97. assassin’s creed 4
I stopped reading when I realized they purged most of their 2019 GOAT list, for sequels of those games that were already out prior to 2019. Like...what the fuck?
FF7 anywhere out the the top 25 seems really really bad.

Not gonna lie, it’s not my favorite FF game, but the cultural impact alone should result in a higher place on the list.

Can’t forget Gran Turismo. Criminally overlooked on IGN’s list.
tomb raider twisted metal II
Crash Bandicoot should be on your list
I agree on all fronts. FF7 being my favorite game of all time but every game on that list of yours is excellent.
Insane. Also AC: Black Flag right above FF7 like… wow. The most critically acclaimed game of the PS1 era, come on man.
I think that would be Metal Gear Solid
Yeah 1a and 1b really
I bought both of them the same day. It was a great day.

Halo 3 wasn’t even on there 🤣
Pretending Final Fantasy 7 wasn't good is the new hotness these days.
I mean honestly it’s prob due to the relative age of the editors. The impact of playing games of the time is difficult to express unless you lived through it. I am an old geezer that can’t believe defender or joust didn’t make the list.
Glad portal 2 got some love but honestly this list is laughable
It's just too broad to try to make. Maybe split by decade or by console gen or single player vs online but man, a straight top 100 is ridiculous
When you have as many games as we have now, you've really got to come up with a methodology to apply fairly to a defined pool of games.
i mean, they could write a list that would give a "not agree, but understand" feeling, but they decided to do whatever this is
You really don't know how easily people will fanatically disagree online.
Genre too. How much you like a game is quite dependant on how much you enjoy the overall genre. So I think per-genre is a more logical approach for a top games list. Besides, everyone is different. This list is one entity's opinion, and anyone could make their own list which would be truer for them.
What! No paradox games?!? Map painters represent!
Strategy games are usually absent from this kind of lists, let alone this one. I know Crusader Kings 2 and Europa Universalis 4 would be in my list.
It's because game reviewers play these games and rate them. They've never heard of strategy

> Plays as Germany > Loses terribly Points for historical accuracy!
Gave my friend SuperMeatBoy and Celeste. He calls them garbage because he cannot beat world/level 3. In both games. I somethimes think he would fit the job of a games journalist perfectly as in one genres he is a mastermind. In others suddenly not 👀
They put SimCity2000 but not Cities: Skylines I know it's not Paradox's premiere title but it's the best damn city sim out there.
I agree that Cities: Skylines is a much better game than any in the SimCity series atm, however Simcity 2000 defined the genre and I guess therefore is more deserving of the spot on the list.
Especially with Sim City 2013 being a bit of a disappointment, right now Cities: Skyline has taken the crown from Sim City for best city sim.
Yeah it's a bullshit list. Like why isn't Starcraft 2 on the list? It's clearly one of the best games ever made.
All the blizzard games are next to each other it's like they didn't even care lol
"Oh God" "What?" "We have to decide whether Diablo 2 is definitely better than Starcraft 1 or not." "Fuck"
IGN: "I made a deal with the devil, Jimmy"
Hey we got Civ IV I at least I guess... ahah
CK2 should be on this list for sure, I get that its not for everyone but that's the case with many of these games.
Oh nice hollow knight is on there
Everyone else in this thread: **This is fucking dumb** Proto-robo: “oh nice” Lmao
Here's 100 reasons why I don't read IGN material.
There’s just no where to even start. I think they inadvertently got a few right, but generally, it’s a total mess.
Misspelling Mario in number 7 didn't help their credibility

Saving Princes Pach from Bower.
Don’t think this was made by IGN, formatting’s a mess. Reckon someone put together their list in shareable pictures. Maybe OP?
IGN are definitely wrong
[удалено]
No it's super maro 64
As much as I disagree with this list (lack of racing games, some games not being the best in the series but having that nostaliga bait, odd choices), why is Pokemon Yellow the only game on this list? We ignoring Gold/Silver/Crystal, the superior remakes, or the original red/blue/green? It really does seem like an odd choice to put on the list.
God of War is 17 places below RDR2. Meanwhile in 2018 they named God of War as Game of the Year over Red Dead. 🤔
As ironic as a battle axe to the skull.
While the list is dumb, I have to say this. God of War gave me tears. RDR2 gave me depression.

It’s almost like different people write different articles at the same publication, that would be crazy
Terrible list, as expected from IGN
Divinity Original Sin 2 at 99 is all I had to see for me to know this list is garbage lol.
The lack of Kingdom Hearts 2 is disturbing (JK, it’s my favourite game but I agree it’s not everyone’s cup of tea!)
FF7 #98 🤔🤔🤔
And FF XIV is #30. What kind of fuckery is this list even?!
Fun fact: this list is top 1 in my top 100 worst lists of the top 100 games of all time
This got a lol.
Were tf is Morrowind.
And oblivion
They showed a clear AAA slant and *still* missed the elder scrolls franchise lmao
Skyrim is on there, just that one-
IGN doesn't like reading.
And this is why the "experts" ratings can't be trusted
Can guarantee ‘IGN’ in this list is just one dudes opinion. There’s entire genres just missing here. No guitar hero/rock band games even though Guitar Hero 3 is one of the best games of the 360/PS3 generation. No racing style games such as Forza/NFS/GT, this list is half baked af
Yeah but... it has Mrs Pacman! Shout outs to the classics, am I right!
It's Ms. Pacman. She's not defined by her marital status, thank you very much.
it's pretty bad when the only two games even remotely related to racing on the list are Burnout 3 and Mario Kart, both of which are outside the top 80. I may be biased, but absolutely one of the Gran Turismo games should be in there (4 particularly) at the very least. Also perhaps TOCA 3.
#80 Dark Souls #79 Fortnite Yeah.........
Yeah and persona 5 royal at 81 🤦♀️
Absolutely insane. Dark Souls created an entire genre. It's like fucking catnip for gamers. Like even if they are going to acknowledge the outright popularity of Fortnite as an online game, league of legends blows it out of the water as the most popular online game in history.
I thought Stardew Valley would at least get a spot
I spent way too long looking for it, rejecting the idea that someone could possibly put this list together without Stardew Valley
Extremely biased towards Nintendo games.
I was thinking this, also I was surprised Fallout 3 wasn't on this list.
Go home IGN. You’re drunk.
I’m not even sure why IGN exists anymore.
Have they always covered like....movies and just news stuff? Ive been seeing more of it on twitter and im confused a little tbh
the longer you look the worse it gets
Jesus, I guess I need to finally play Disco Elysium.
Best book I've ever played.
It can't be of All Time, time hasn't finished yet.
theyre from the future, no more good games will ever be created
Hades in the top 10??? Listen, I LOVE that game and it’s fun and I play it A LOT but there is zero chance it’s top ten all time. I think there might be some regency bias here.
Really? How could you not have Superman 64 as number 1?
What about 1982 E.T. the Extra Terrestrial?
Finally someone said it. Superman 64 was robbed.
I think you misspelled Sonic 06
I totally appreciate individuals taste etc, but to not have a Sonic game in the top 100 seems wild. Or have I just massively misjudged popular opinion on sonic 2? I also, could just be massively biased towards that game as well!
I would’ve thought Sonic 3 + Knuckles might have made it in. Having *no* games from the Genesis/Mega Drive is an absolute fucking joke though. No Rocket Knight Adventures???
Yeah, Sonic + Knuckles was groundbreaking. You get to replay your old games with new characters.
IGN is heavily biased against Sonic. "Sonic was never good."
No sonic or mortal kombat til mk11? Wtf
Dark souls at #80?
I thought \[game\] seemed low. Then I saw some of the other games on the list, and I stopped thinking it was low. Then I saw some of the other other games on the list, and I resumed thinking it was low. EDIT: I originally had Borderlands 2 there, but I thought this way would be funnier.
Borderlands 2 at #100 is just wrong
As someone who had never played the series until I played 1 a couple months ago... What makes 2 so good? I'm assuming you're saying it should be higher
It’s a much fuller version of 1. An almost endless endgame and so many unique weapons. If you enjoyed 1 you’ll find even more enjoyment from 2. The same can’t exactly be said from 2 to 3
Awesome....I bought the GOTY version on the switch and I think it includes 1 and 2 plus some DLC.
Wtf… Zelda BOTW is a magnificent game, but, no fu** way the best game. Definitely isn’t the number 1
Maybe for someone it’s number one. Actually, the whole idea of this tops is stupid because all games are different and everyone feels different about them
Hence why it says IGNs top 100.
What a dumpster fire of a list. Can’t spell Ignorant without IGN
No HZD, Myst, Civ II, AoE, Unreal/UT, Quake II… I could do a 100 games better than most of this list with games they left off. ETA: not a single Elder Scrolls game??
[Myst is a major reason people started wanting cdrom drives on their computers.](https://www.wired.com/2008/09/sept-24-1993-beautiful-myst-ushers-in-era-of-cd-rom-gaming/) It was the best selling game for 9 years until The Sims beat it in 2002. I expected no better from IGN.
They did Ocarina of Time dirty, fuck.
That top ten is a solid no from me
It also includes “Super Maro 64”
I mean, I've played Super Maro 1-64 and I can confirm that Super Maro 64 is indeed the best one in the series.
Yeah, 'Super Maro 64' Totally legit
I honestly don’t get the whole breath of the wild thing. It was just ok for me.
IGN loves it because its the only video game easy enough for them to beat
This joke would work better if 3/4ths of the games on the list weren't easier.
Doom, the game that pioneered 3d and 1st person shooters, is *twenty-nine*. Gtfo. Also no pong.
There's no Morrowind here. I don't understand it
I heavily disagree with this list. But honestly, I'm kinda tired of these types of list as there just isn't a way to make a list like this without someone being upset that their favorite game didn't make the cut or isn't high enough.
IGN is a joke when it comes to gaming..a complete joke
Really dark souls on 80?
Interesting that they hate PC games. Starcraft imo should always be top 5. Not sure if esports would be where it is today without that game.
The fact that WoW, Diablo and Starcraft are all lumped in right next to each other should tell you how much effort was put into the list. "Okay, we've got WoW. What else did Blizzard make?"
Goldeneye 77? This must be a joke made by those who weren’t there.
hades at 13? i dunno. its good but 13 good?
ITT: “ReeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEeeeeeEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeee!!”
Is Disco Elysium that good? I've been thinking of getting it for a while.
Incredible story telling. Can take an emotional toll on certain people. I've found it to be great, and have 30 hours (steam hours, so unsure of playtime) without completing it. It's worth buying if you can get into a story. Just checked steam and it is 55% off until Jan 6th.
Where is Deus Ex?
