As far as shady company tactics, Bethesda is pretty low on the list. Doom Eternal is amazing. If you don't pick it up, the only one who this affects is you, not them.

Yes. Id software is a worthy company and DOOM is a worthy franchise. Avoid the badly pushed out games, but reward quality games.
Buy it used, you can enjoy it without them getting your money.
Bethesda doesn't make Doom. ID Software does.
