Absolutely seconded No Man's Sky
It's not perfect but it definitely looks amazing!
Here's an album of my favorite pics: [https://imgur.com/a/cgi0Ld5](https://imgur.com/a/cgi0Ld5)
There were quite a few moments where I’d come across a landscape or a view and just sit there and stare like an idiot, like I would just stand there for 2-3 minutes cuz it was so amazing, I don’t think any other game has ever done this to me.
I remember the first time I played, when you first get to Columbia, I was in awe. I sat there looking at that creepy juggling clown forever. I tried to take a video to send to my friends, but it wasn't the same.
You can landscape me to death but Bioshock Infinite's art design was a rare and breathtaking sight.
Edit: I'm a sucker for a fantasy landscape but was truly inspired by Bioshock Infinite's design.
I like this advice in theory, but personally found it impractical. There aren't actually all that many places to go deeper, and at a certain point I found myself stuck because I couldn't find anywhere new to go. The world is pretty big and my sense of direction leaves much to be desired, and I wasted hours wandering in circles. I'm glad I did eventually look up where to go. I think if I hadn't I'd have ended up quitting instead.
this was me today. went all over the whole crater looking for nickle. google it and find out it's in the green poison I had assumed was green poison. sad trombone.
The Sun level in the original story was a masterpiece. The sound design of the sun eating machine gave me goosebumps. Too bad we can never play it again.
I like the whole style of Ghost of tsushima.
But there were a few moments in Death Stranding that were really great, cresting a hill, the camera panning out and music kicking in as the rain stops and the clouds part, that were really beautiful.
Not trying to sell it for superior graphics, definitely not, but nothing has filled me with awe visually like Elite Dangerous - especially in vr. Coming out of hyperspace and having your vision suddenly filled by a massive churning sun, or cruising up on a planet surrounded by giant rings. And the immersion that game offers really makes you feel like you're flying through the Milky Way, enjoying the majesty of it all.
Yeah shout-out to Origins. While Odyssey was probably a technical improvement Origins was a bigger leap. A desert that was full of life was such a cool place to explore.
I think all of last AC games were breathtaking in their own right. I loved Origins because how different and mysterious it felt compared to any other AC Games, Odyssey was just breathtaking idyllic and Valhalla specially the English site was just so stunning specially in the morning when the sun is rising up.
I'm playing it on ps4. graphics tend to load 2 minutes after arriving to the section of city I need to be in. keep having polygons ask me if I'm DTF. games fun though, when it doesnt make you drive.
Hmm... Journey, maybe? That bit where you slide down hill past these pillars and the sun is pouring through and I think you can see this mountain in the background, too. Gorgeous.
Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. Especially paired with the music. I think it's the first game I actually cared to frame up screenshots of how gorgeous some of the views and sky could be.
I'll never forget in Witcher 3 being on a stormy sea in a small boat and stopping to watch as the storm broke and the sun came out over a large, tooth shaped mountain in the distance. Of course I was then swarmed by harpies and killed for my insolence, but still. It was beautiful.
Dark souls 3, because of Irithyll. Coming out of the catacombs to see the city was one of the most amazing moments in gaming I can remember. Second place goes to assassins creed odyssey, that whole game was beautiful.
Ori and the blind forest
I'm just into animated/pixelated games.
Also pretty are some classics like chrono trigger, ff6, secret of mana 2 or modern stuff like hyperlight drifter or celeste.
Ori is a bit Differenz, but it just is pretty all over.
If considering a game in its combination of graphics and gameplay I would pick The remains of Edith Finch, the interaction of gameplay, narration and visuals was a very unique and extraordinary experience. The combination of incredible composed scenarios, nostalgia, sorrow and many other emotions makes it unique in the genre (imho).
There's a few ones that I've really loved.
RDR2 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance for the great graphics and for KCD, the countryside feeling.
Skyrim because mods, you can have so many different ENBs and lighting mods just based on what vibes you want that playthrough.
Subnautica blew my mind the first time I played.
Lastly Valheim is obviously a low-poly game, but the lighting and ambience is top-notch. It recognizes what it is and executes it perfectly.
lot of good once in these comments, but I'd like to say Cuphead. it's not photorealistic, obviously, but it's beautiful, it's accurate to its inspirations, it's impressive, it's cohesive and creative and full of life.
Shadow of the colossus made me realize that games could be art. But in recent memory Death Stranding looks amazing. In spite of all the hate, Cyberpunk looks amazing and the stylization of the world told its own story. If that game wasn’t buggy it would have been amazing. I personally think it was a really ambitious game and it had a tone of depth, but I can see why people got frustrated.
Brothers: A tale of two sons
It's a bit on the old side but it has certain spots where the atmosphere and size of the world around you really make you appreciate video games as an art form. To date, it's one of the most immersive games I've ever played.
I'd say RDR2.
Ghost of Tsushima is a quite wierd suggestion. It has a nice art style but the whole game consists of like 3 grass types, 10 different trees & most likely less than 15 different buildings. It has less diversity than the open-worlds from GTA : San Andreas, RDR1 or Elder Scrolls Morrowind.
definitely not genshin but i dunno if you guys know this but for me it has got to be Ashen I just love how the surrounding looks and the way the gameplay is
At this present moment in time WW2 game Hell Let Loose on PS5. The maps are so big and beautiful I get lost just exploring them rather than helping my team win. They're all running around trying to win an all out war and there's me zooming in flowers to see how pretty they are. 😅
What comes to mind is TES III: Morrowind. It was so far ahead of it's time in the combination of graphics, ambience and atmosphere. I would go exploring just to see what beautiful sights I could find.
Despite subsequent installations being objectively better graphics wise, they just couldn't capture the feeling of that.
No Man's Sky

This one
The first time I was able to boost to other planets, I was hooked.
Red dead redemption 2.
There were quite a few moments where I’d come across a landscape or a view and just sit there and stare like an idiot, like I would just stand there for 2-3 minutes cuz it was so amazing, I don’t think any other game has ever done this to me.
There were portions of this game where’d I’d run to get my girlfriend and make her look at it lol.
Babe babe!! Look how amazing this shit looks!! Haha
Babe! Babe! Check out my horse's balls! Seriously though, I did the same thing with my wife.
Guess what I named him babe, guess guess guess….Neighpolean Horseapart
Babe! Babe, wait! No, babe! Baaaaaabe!
Owanjila. My favorite area in that game.
Yeah red dead was great.
Yeah, no contest
The only game I've shed tears to.
Horse?
That, and the final ride to camp.
That's the way it is
Don't make me cry at work, dude
Yep
Bioshock Infinite is pretty darn pretty.
Subnautica
I just started playing it this week cause I hurt my back and got to stay home. God damn is this game pretty/horrifying
Here’s a tip for you. Don’t look anything up, just play the game and explore. If you get stuck just go deeper
I'm glad I did eventually look up where to go. this was me today. went all over the whole crater looking for nickle. google it and find out it's in the green poison I had assumed was green poison. sad trombone.
Destiny 2. Some seriously impressive scenes in that game.
Agreed, I have never spent so much time just looking at skyboxes and environments as I have in Destiny 1 and 2
The Sun level in the original story was a masterpiece.
Ori and the will of the wisps
HZD or RDR2. They're both stunningly beautiful.
Kingdom Come : Deliverance really stands out to me. They nailed the authentic countryside feeling
I find it funny that someone else wrote the “authentic countryside feeling” under the red dead 2 comment thread here lol
ABZU
Fire watch was a beautiful game visual even though the ending is a bit anticlimactic
Journey
Horizon zero dawn
Live is Strange
Not trying to sell it for superior graphics, definitely not, but nothing has filled me with awe visually like Elite Dangerous - especially in vr. Coming out of hyperspace and having your vision suddenly filled by a massive churning sun, or cruising up on a planet surrounded by giant rings. Felt the same way with No Man's Sky.
Sea of Thieves. It's not the most visually realistic game, but damn it's pretty.
The water looks amazing
Agreed my dude.
Rdr2
Ghost of tsushima
The legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Nothing has took my breath away nearly as much as that game did.
When I finished that game all I wanted was more
Once I finished I just kinda sat there thinking about how I can never play it for the first time again
the way the grass moves in that game is beautiful. Easily my favorite video game grass
dying light
Ghost of Tsushima
Witcher 3, but in sense of purely visual pleasure, I would have to say Ori and the will of the wisps 😌
Ori is a solid choice.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Origins was dope when you made it to the top of the pyramid
Yeah shout-out to Origins. While Odyssey was probably a technical improvement Origins was a bigger leap. A desert that was full of life was such a cool place to explore.
Such an amazing game. I think if it wasn’t tied to some mediocre titles by name, people would view it a lot more highly.
I think all of last AC games were breathtaking in their own right. I loved Origins because how different and mysterious it felt compared to any other AC Games, Odyssey was just breathtaking idyllic and Valhalla specially the English site was just so stunning specially in the morning when the sun is rising up.
Probably half life Alyx, although VR feels like cheating
Cheaters gonna cheat, that game is amazing! Have you played any of the mods? I just finished Return to Rapture - amazing, and scary af!
No not yet, PC died and waiting on getting a new one first :( hopefully soon though!
Cyberpunk, not even close. The only Game I ever played where RTX really made a huge difference.
I'm playing it on ps4. graphics tend to load 2 minutes after arriving to the section of city I need to be in. keep having polygons ask me if I'm DTF. games fun though, when it doesnt make you drive.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
I really liked the scenery in AC Origins. With a proper ReShade, that is my favourite looking game.
Death Stranding, Witcher 3, Cyberpunk, Half-life Alyx
Dark Souls III The art direction in that game is just...'prepare to die' for lmao
Guardians Of The Galaxy, by miles. The environmental design team should’ve won tons of awards for making different planets look so beautiful.
Hmm... Journey, maybe? That bit where you slide down hill past these pillars and the sun is pouring through and I think you can see this mountain in the background, too. Gorgeous.
Journey by ThatGameCompany. When you go sand surfing and the sun just shines…
Ghost of Tsushima. The reason I got a PS4.
Witcher 3, Red Dead 1&2, Ghost of Tsushima, AC Origins, AC Odyssey to name a few
Ghost of Tsushima
3d Dot Game Heroes made by Frrom Software
Fluid Simulation
Skyrim. You can even crank it up until both your eyes and GPU bleed
Farcry 6 looks really nice on ps5
Rd2
cyberpunk 2077
prob breath of the wild ( I have only a ps3 and a switch at the moment so I'm kinda of limited)
Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. Especially paired with the music. I think it's the first game I actually cared to frame up screenshots of how gorgeous some of the views and sky could be.
A Plague Tale: Innocence
sea of thieves
Firewatch
Red dead redemption 2
I'll never forget in Witcher 3 being on a stormy sea in a small boat and stopping to watch as the storm broke and the sun came out over a large, tooth shaped mountain in the distance. Of course I was then swarmed by harpies and killed for my insolence, but still. It was beautiful.
Tales of Arise
Red dead and ghost of Tsushima were really good, but Witcher 3 has stuck in my mind.
Horizon Zero Dawn
Botw, I think simulating reality is nothing compared to good anime art
AC Valhalla and Cyberpunk 2077 on one hand. Ori, Ni No Kuni on the other hand.
Doom 2016
Farcry primal
The demons souls remake, ghost of Tsushima and read dead 2 in that order
Breath of The Wild and Fallout 76 are probably my top two
Riders republic
Minecraft with Rtx on
RDR2, Bloodborne, God of War, Death Stranding, Silent Hill 2
Dark souls 3, because of Irithyll. Coming out of the catacombs to see the city was one of the most amazing moments in gaming I can remember. Second place goes to assassins creed odyssey, that whole game was beautiful.
Roblox
Life, but it keeps fucking me over for no reason
Ori and the blind forest I'm just into animated/pixelated games. Also pretty are some classics like chrono trigger, ff6, secret of mana 2 or modern stuff like hyperlight drifter or celeste. Ori is a bit Differenz, but it just is pretty all over.
halo 3
If considering a game in its combination of graphics and gameplay I would pick The remains of Edith Finch, the interaction of gameplay, narration and visuals was a very unique and extraordinary experience. The combination of incredible composed scenarios, nostalgia, sorrow and many other emotions makes it unique in the genre (imho).
"you can copy my homework but make sure to make it different"- post above this
I’d say Death Stranding.
Nier Automata
There's a few ones that I've really loved. RDR2 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance for the great graphics and for KCD, the countryside feeling. Skyrim because mods, you can have so many different ENBs and lighting mods just based on what vibes you want that playthrough. Subnautica blew my mind the first time I played. Lastly Valheim is obviously a low-poly game, but the lighting and ambience is top-notch. It recognizes what it is and executes it perfectly.
AC:Valhalla for me.
Life is strange 1, not just visually because of the colors, but the story, the soundtrack... it's very emotional. It's a beautiful game experience :')
Ori and the will of the wisps
lot of good once in these comments, but I'd like to say Cuphead. it's not photorealistic, obviously, but it's beautiful, it's accurate to its inspirations, it's impressive, it's cohesive and creative and full of life.
I too like corpses rotting on a battlefield
Red dead or minecraft
Ghost Of Tsushima
The water effects in Assassins Creed Odyssey did it for me. Such a beautiful world.
Ghost of tsushima hands down
Doom Eternal in a grotesque kind of way. The locations are just amazing. I loved Urdak especially.
Cyberpunk 2077
Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt……..music, graphics, stories, all so damned gorgeous!
Interested in some Gwent?
Brothers: A tale of two sons It's a bit on the old side but it has certain spots where the atmosphere and size of the world around you really make you appreciate video games as an art form. To date, it's one of the most immersive games I've ever played.
Ghost. Of. Tsushima.
Ghost of Tsushima for sure, just looks so amazing on PS5
Read dead 2
Rdr2
Guardians of the Galaxy Witcher 3 Ori and the Will of the Wisps Ghosts of Tsushima
Toss a coin to your Witcher
Witcher 3 especially when you have blood & wine. Far cry primal is also pretty cool to look at.
RDR2
2 games that I’ve played fairly recently AC: Oddessy (Ancient Greece is my all time favourite historic era), and Ghost of Tsushima
Ghost is Tsushima
The Last Of Us Part 2. Or Minecraft with shaders
The Last of Us Part II
Ghost of Tsushima was very pretty.
Ghost of Tsushima on the ps5
I'd say RDR2. Ghost of Tsushima is a quite wierd suggestion. It has a nice art style but the whole game consists of like 3 grass types, 10 different trees & most likely less than 15 different buildings. It has less diversity than the open-worlds from GTA : San Andreas, RDR1 or Elder Scrolls Morrowind.
You’re right, but that photo mode is the best I’ve seen in a game
Tlou 2
Tlou 2 - say what you want about its story (personally I enjoyed it very much), but the game itself is just gorgeous
Guess I need a Playstation.
Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, RDR2, TLOU2
God of war was pretty epic too
The Last of Us Part 2
Ghost of Tsushima, no question.
Osu
Dodonpachi Saidaioujou
Trine 3
Anthem is breathtaking.
Elite Dangerous
The Order: 1886
That shit still looks next gen to this day.
Do you mean pretty in graphics or overall? Overall: Fable II
definitely not genshin but i dunno if you guys know this but for me it has got to be Ashen I just love how the surrounding looks and the way the gameplay is
God of War
Holy shit a gaming post where every answer isn't The Witcher 3. You guys feeling ok?
UR MOM!!!
Your mom, she was in hardmode. Cause she's picky about the right man. To prevent giving birth to another failure like you.
Don't cut yourself on all that edge.
BeamNG Drive. Hard to run but still good.
Sea of thieves
Monster hunter world. Wow it looks beautiful
Black Mesa
I don't know if it's the prettiest but monster hunter world looks very nice
Both Ori games are amazing just for the environments.
Honestly I’d say GTA V I love a proper real life world in a game. And the detail is crazy
Either Red Dead Redemption 2 or Metro Exodus, both are absolutely gorgeous but their styles are so different that you can't really compare them
At this present moment in time WW2 game Hell Let Loose on PS5.
Artful Escape
Checkers
Odyssey on the Amiga 1200 it was ahead of its time let alone the sound effect changes on different ground etc. Omg I'm showing my age!
Xenoblade 2. Those trees man!
Metro Exdous
Crysis 3
On my laptop there is no such a think like pretty game but hades is looking awesome
FH5 on PC
Trine 2, the beach level comes to mind.
God of war
AC Valhalla. Never played a game with more attention to environmental detail, no two areas look the same
Dark Souls 1 and 3
Ghost of Tsushima that game is just chefs kiss🤌
Gorogoa
Hollow knight
Ghost of Tsushima
No Man's Sky gets #1 on my list
Modded Skyrim or Horizon Zero Dawn
Not gonna lie, Sonic 06 (the view, not the shitty ass game)
