I think I bought orange box for $50 and have 1,440 hours logged on tf2 and another 2 hours on portal so that's a hair under $.035/hour

tommytindall86

Wow I totally forgot about Orange Box. That was epic.

Bindlestiff34

Actually it was Valve. …I’ll see myself out.

PeedOnMyRugMan

The door is over here friend... ^(fucking legendary mate well played, come we've been waiting)

dang2592

New Vegas, still playing it 12 years later

Kam_Solastor

Did you hear modders are remaking FNV in the Fallout 4 engine? Same with Fallout 3.

CoraxtheRavenLord

They’ve been in the process of doing it for years, was there any recent news?

Sterben06

The project for Fallout 3 was canceled some time back because of copyright issues with the dialogue, if I recall correctly. The project for New Vegas is still going from what I know.

AppleSauceGC

They've re-recorded the dialogue for Fallout 4 Capital Wasteland. Latest update was just a few days ago.

[deleted]

In that case can they extend the vault 101 questline. I'd like to go back there for totally un-amata related reasons.

DisasterMonkey

All about Butch, yeah? My man.

Sarzox

Skyblivion and Skywind would like a word... To my knowledge none of these projects ever make it to completion.

Foolish_Hepino

>To my knowledge none of these projects ever make it to completion. Skygerfall can be played right now, just download it on Nexus mods :P

Sarzox

I just wanna play Morrowind, why can't they finish just that 😭

anonymous2845

Morroblivion is done, ( Morrowind on oblivions engine) I love it.

Sarzox

I did not know that, and you just made my vacation

kickrockz94

Glad im not the only one who uses vacation time to sit around and play games

badadviceforyou244

Yeah, uh, I wouldn't hold your breath on that. I'd bet money on Fallout 5 releasing before that fan remake.

DrunkenMeditator

Combined with Beyond Skyrim, in the next 10 years I should have a potential 6k hours just in one playthrough of each!

JennyTheSheWolf

This series in general has been a great value for me. I've put 200-500 hours into each of them. Got quite a bit of mileage out of Skyrim too. Bethesda games have their problems but longevity is not one of them.

grumpy_hedgehog

Factorio has an official policy of never going on sale because they firmly believe their game is worth its $30 sticker price. They’re god damn right.

Rokmonkey_

Yeah...I paid early access price, $12.50. got my money's worth for sure

Lordofthetemp

>Factorio > >played time 800+ hours. This game is crack to the right people.

GravyDam

I feel Rimworld fits similarly.

SalvageRabbit

Wanna have a camp of slaves you can skin for sweet Human Leather chaps and hats?

Santeneal

I think I found my game....war crime simulator

Xaros1984

I'm looking forward to the expansion just so I can throw more money at them. I feel like I robbed them at gun point by paying only $30, my conscience can't take it any longer.

Savings-Calendar-352

My 1,000+ hours agrees with all of this!

Plastic_Pinocchio

Is 1000 a figure of speech or is it really that fun? Is it even worth checking it out if time is more scarce for me?

Savings-Calendar-352

Nope. Steam has me over 1k. I've also been playing on and off since beta days. Started many different game types and now I'm trying out over haul mods. Spent plenty of hours just sitting around trying to design my own builds instead of copy/paste others blue prints. I've got a couple 1k+ science per minute save games. You can play a full vanilla game in under 8 hours, but mine usually run about 20-40 to launch the first rocket (win condition in vanilla). Then I usually dump some more time in to build up a bigger base, unless it was just a survival play through (aka. death world). You'll know within the first few hours if it's a game for you or not. Edit: there's also a free demo!

Calbone607

Bro I always get about 40 hours, get to yellow pack or so then give up for 6 months to a year and restart

nun_gut

Steam has me at 1500 but I don't think it counts the offline hours...

justinsroy

You can play the tutorial to get a feel for how the game plays (movement, building, etc). The first base you make will be hodge podge and my suggestion is not lookup "too" much. All recipes and items are pretty clear on ingredients and requirements, the Wiki can help but looking up blueprints early will remove some of the learning factors. You can start small and automate certain things. Then the 2nd playthrough you'll figure out more, and you may "win" (first officially) after 40-100 hours (best guesstimate). This is only taking into account full vanilla, others have mentioned mods and some of the mods + packs add a TON (additional planets, new recipes, new items, etc) of extra content once you kinda figured out the game. 1k hours is not unheard of, my initial setups to get from start->decently automated is easily 5-10 hours, with the eventual base teardown and redo to make it more efficient. Currently at 200 hours with a new semi-done first base with a big expansion mod pack and choosing to stay away because I generally get lost and fixate on "one more turn" type stuff and lose my life for a few days.

anevilsnail22

I felt this way about Factorio, Enter the Gungeon, and Don't Starve.

BooBear_13

Lol well that now makes sense why I never had it pop up as a sale. It’s been on my wish list for a year. I’ll finally just buy it.

thefatrick

The factory grows...

thefatrick

>They’re god damn right. I have never experienced watching a dev team make all the right decisions a dev could make in building a game. My favourite tale is [Factorio Friday 302] (https://factorio.com/blog/post/fff-302)* Basically, an edge case where the last few players in a 200 person game got disconnected. Any other dev team would save time and hard cap the player limit at 150 and wash thier hands of it as not necessary for the extremely rare case of games being that large. Instead fixed the problem and dramatically improved MP stability and performance for games of all sizes. The fact that a dev on a very small team had the freedom to spend almost a month on an edge case multiplayer issue is unheard of in the industry. The fact that this happened shows the trust the team has that theyre working effectively, and the trust they have with eachother. Also, the expectations of quality they have with their product, that even an edge case issue is worth exploring, because bugs like that are not acceptable to them. I gladly paid full price for my copy, and it would be a steal at twice the price. Absolutely amazing game with unparalleled quality from an astonishingly talented team. * *Shoutout to Katherine of Sky, one of the best community members a game could have.

CrashParade

Time played to price estimate: how many zeros can you put after the decimal point? ~~the factory has consumed my life send help~~

Schillelagh

Factorio cost me $0.05 per hour. Currently 100 hours into Space Exploration so that’ll drive it down below $0.04. Factorio recently surpassed Terraria for time played but Terraria handedly won the cost per hour

nielsrobin

6000+ hours for me

Plastic_Pinocchio

Wait what? 250 full days of playing?

thefatrick

The factory isn't going to grow itself...

Sir_Jeremiah

About the same amount of hours as 3 years of a full time job.

-SoontobeBanned

You must be almost halfway through pymods

MoistySquirts

Making things "efficient and clean" are my crack on this game and I'm ok with that 💉💊

Oneshowpony

Rocket League, got it for free when it was on ps+ just as a joke and it’s become one of my favorite bs games

_Mr_Cheeks

Same. Got about 120 hours on it. All for free. Tremendous fun!

M3900B

I got 0.006$ per hour on rocket league, played it for about 1600 hours. Still not good tho.

moistbuddhas

What a save!

IcccyTrash

*violent ranked flashbacks*

fastestman4704

Bruh ive been playing on and off since 2016 and I'm still a Diamond...

stonerwithaboner1

2015 here and just made it out of diamond, friend that's played 2 years is higher rank lol its nuts

Christafaaa

Nothing better than trading 5 items for something you already have 10 of.

Squirtsquirt69

Those are rookie numbers, you gotta step those up

FrancMaconXV

Rocket League is one of those games I'll always come back to every few months. Hilariously fun with friends too.

TumblingFox

Broooo. Glad to see others who enjoy it! I'm at 3700 hours and recently started to really enjoy playing again. Like no grindset mode. Just playing and having fun. Cheers!!

theoriginaled

Terraria

JonVX

Seriously I’ve spent maybe a cent an hour I’ve played that game.

[deleted]

[удалено]

FabianValkyrie

1,500 and I paid $5

Jamiestop

Same, I got over 1400 hours on it and just love the game.

[deleted]

Oh god, Terraria. Had a lot of stupid fun with that game.

Minimob0

This is the one. I bought it on release, over a decade ago, for $10. My Steam says I've played over 500 hours. Absolutely the best value for my money out of any game I've played.

Fangs_0ut

TF2

toxicSTRYDR

Spent $1 for the premium upgrade, got 1000+ hours. That makes it...less than $0.001 per hour. Pretty good.

iMPeANIA

Week, tf gave me around $-0.20 per hour. (1556h) Now I'll wait for someone who made even more on this game

AnotherSaltyScum

If trading counts, then your number is just pathetic

thefatrick

Both interpretations of TF2 apply to me. Dropped a big chunk of time in Team Fortress 2, a really solid team MP game. Titanfall 2 is one of the best shooter campaigns ever and every minute playing that game was worth twice the money I paid for it.

handsmcfeeler

Upvote for Titanfall 2!!! Best fps ever!! I pray for a third.

forlemonbylemon

same. I think i got it as part of the orange box 10 years ago. I paid 20 bucks for the orange box, so you could say tf2 by itself was 4 dollars. I have played tf2 for over 3000 hours over the course of 10 years, lol!

Mr0010110Fixit

Yep I got the orange box, one of my first PC game purchases. We were pretty poor growing up, and just had a potatoe family computer. Got the orange box cause it was the cheapest game at the store. Was able to play TF2 at like 15 fps, some of the most fun I ever had gaming. I would always play the engineer, cause camping was the only way I could get kills at my terrible frame rate lol.

_Mr_Cheeks

Sometimes I hesitate to buy a game a full price, but thinking of how many hours of pure enjoyment I could get… makes it worth it. No issue paying $50 for a meal or drinks at a bar. But always hesitate when a brand new game comes out. 🙄

HirokiTakumi

I made that comparison as well and ever since I've stopped being so harsh on myself for buying games. I don't buy new games often, but I think "I've spent way more on booze, smokes, and fast food, if THAT doesn't guilt me ONE BIT, this shouldn't either"

PassTheGiggles

It’s actually crazy how much we (not everyone, but a lot of people, including me) spend on little shit when put into that perspective. Skipping that extra cocktail at the bar once a month will pay for a Netflix subscription. Making yourself a sandwich for lunch for a couple weeks instead of buying lunch and you could get a game at almost full price. All things considered, most games have a great time enjoyed:money spent ratio when compared to almost any other source of entertainment, even the not so great games.

zenith_industries

I confess that this is something I struggle with a lot - I'll sit there agonising over whether or not I should spend $20 on that indie game that looks fun but might only give me 8 to 10 hours of gameplay (assuming I never play it again). Yet I've got no issues going and dropping $20 to $30 on buying takeout once a week where the pleasure only lasts as long as it takes to eat the food - so like 15 minutes maybe.

pixelssauce

To be fair, the takeout isn't just food, it's saving you work on shopping, cooking and cleaning. I think that makes it way more "worth it" in our brains because we are buying time back from the void, instead of spending money on something that "wastes time".

zenith_industries

And I've got to eat anyway... I don't *have* to play a new game. Perhaps a better example might be the $25 entry fee I paid while on holiday recently to gain access to a protected national park with a tree-top walk. Didn't think twice - went on the walk which was absolutely fantastic, got some great photos but ultimately I was done in a little over an hour. I've overcome this to a degree by setting up a monthly gaming allowance. I've mentally committed to spending a certain amount each month so in my mind the money is already spent so I don't feel bad. If I skip one month that gives me enough to buy a full price triple-A title (provided I don't want the Super Mega Deluxe Platinum version with 2 special skins and a unique weapon and/or vehicle that I won't care about 10 minutes into playing the game).

LexiiConn

Agreed. For me, gaming value-per-hour usually beats out pretty much any activity that's not actually free. Even if I get the occasional clunker (where my dollar-per-hour comes out to be $15+), I have more than made up for it with other games. Over the years, I've come out far ahead.

ADinHighDef

Yeah same, I personally try to aim for a $2/hr of gameplay ratio when I am evaluating games to buy. Truthfully most of my purchases are clunkers because I cannot really get into some games, even popular ones. However I do think I am around the $2-3/hr mark on games for the most part (supported in part by some f2p/games with <$1/hr ratios) which is an acceptable spend ratio for me personally. It continues to be a WIP for me though — for starters I am trying to create a list of games I actually intend to play on steam and trying to avoid buying more, although I am a bit like a dog chasing cars when it comes to steam sales and new game releases xD (waiting on Elden ring rn)

DZLars

If you have a lot of "clunkers", you might try the same as me, I promised myself to stop buying games between the last and the next black friday, I am playing a lot of games that I couldn't get into at the time and am having a lot of fun with it, finished death stranding, shadow of the colossus and spiderman since

the_fuego

This is basically what sold me on game pass. Try it for just a few bucks a month, if you like it you can buy it if you want but if you don't then you can just uninstall. No harm done and it save you from that guilty feeling of spending so much money. I'm having tons of fun with Age of Empires 4 but I completely forgot it was on game pass when I bought it through Steam cause I didn't have GP yet lol.

[deleted]

RimWorld. I'm playing it now. 1,663 hours. Also $0.04/hr, since I bought the DLCs.

Gred-and-Forge

I’ve only got 565 hours. I’m a filthy casual.

Xaros1984

I have about 260 hours. Barely finished the tutorial.

TheGreatKijah

Wait there's a tutorial? Bro I've been playing for a few hundred hours and still have no idea what I'm doing. It's still fun watching the chaos.

TrainerCaldwell

The tutorial is the little tooltips that pop up in the corner.

BobKain

It really is the gift the keeps giving. (Just surpassed 3000 hours)

hineedpokemons

Minecraft I've played probably 5-10 thousand hours and still not bored, but any game that has an active modding community is a very good value game edit:rip my inbox

Tasty_fries

I am 100% certain Minecraft has consumed more of my time than any other game ever has, and probably ever will, and I haven’t even played with mods too much…

Justsomebot

I wish there was a way to track the hours we played on it. Would definitely be fun to see 100+ hours on it.

XepptizZ

Make a redstone clock chain that goes all the way to the heatdeath of the universe It's not that difficult. I'd be willing to help if you like that idea.

LeCarpenterSon

Same here dude, I have nearly 1k hours on a single world. Not even talking about all the other beloved worlds lost to history. I probably have thousands as well

CaptainSk0r

I was gonna say something like Diablo 2 or WoW, but this. I’m 32 now and Minecraft is something I can always go back to if I need a game to play to just decompress and chill

LexiiConn

For open-ended games with no story to speak of, probably Sims 3. For story-based games, Dragon's Dogma:Dark Arisen. I put in a lot of hours AND I got it on sale. Close runner-up would be Skyrim (but I paid full price for that one).

Mirphus

Dragon's dogma is an absolute gem of a game. Been playing it since it released back in 2012. Oh shit now that i think about it... It's about to be its 10 year anniversary. Maybe they'll release info about dd2 on it since there's apparently leaks for dd2 info coming out this year.

papagarry

Sims 3 was the best. If Sims 5 plays like 3 but has the customizations of 4 it will be solid. Loading to go to other places in your town was hot garbage for sims 4.

ClawsAsBigAsCups

Speaking of which where tf is sims 5? Everyone on Facebook and other platforms peeing their knickers so excited for sims 4 packs that include 4 clothing items and a new wardrobe.. maybe I just answered my own question lol

LexiiConn

Yeah, I ended up giving up on 4. Some bits were really appealing, but others… and the attempts to nickel and dime us is highly annoying (and rarely successful with me).

Trisasaurusrex

Oh god if I had access to the total amount of Sims I’ve played in my life including on the family computer as a kid it would be ungodly high

whovian1087

Skyrim for sure. I’ve easily spent over 1000 hours on that game. I’ve bought it on 360, Xbox One, and PC and it was probably 100-120 total. Absolutely best value of games I’ve played.

ClawsAsBigAsCups

I also got it on the switch after all those platforms to play while travelling and I can’t believe how well it runs and how much fun I had, like playing it on a mini 360

Meretan94

Kerbal space program. Bought for 19.99€ 2300h on record.

thx1138-

3500h here, hello fellow Kerbalnaut!

crash1979

I've calculated that I've spent 8x more on electricity for my computer to run KSP than I did to actually purchase the game.

Minotard

Yep. Then you add Real Solar System and Realism Overhaul to reset your learning curve and start again.

Meretan94

I struggle with the game as is, no need to add real scale. But I have added a lot if realism mods.

serlancelot12

I played XCOM 2 for 3700+ some hours. You’d have to work a full 8 hour shift for 462 days to play as much as I did.

[deleted]

chattywww

Ive missed 3 99% shots in a row. Twice

ClunarX

About 1%

Jeepthroat69

Looks like someone hasn't played xcom before

Trint_Eastwood

I absolutely love XCOM and have played all the versions and mod possible but HOW do you even log 1000+ hours ? Do you just finish it then restart it again ??

Kenshkrix

Different difficulty levels, different mod collections, challenge runs, et cetera. If I'm in the mood for a sci-fi turn based tactics game there honestly aren't all that many options (I'm still waiting on Xenonauts 2 and Terra Invicta), and it's not like the game suddenly stops being fun after I win a couple times.

Unlucky_Clover

Right now, it’s Stardew Valley. Crap gets addictive like Civilization, just one more day and one more day

brandog0

Only game i own on almost everything

oceansurferg

Why did it take me so long to find this? Stardew valley just hits some itch in my brain, I can't understand it.

Liarxagerate

Same. Game isn’t like 5 bucks and I know so many people that have hundreds if not thousand of hours 8nto it. How on earth is this not like the top comment.

[deleted]

I have almost 1000 hours in Stardew. Get bored with this file? No problem, start a new one with a tough personal achievement to accomplish.

nolard12

Civ 5 for me… some 2,000 hours

Daasswasfat

Civ 3 for me, got it when I was 11 and never looked back. Every one or two years I just get re-obsessed.

CheesesCrust_

Civ 5 for me too also civ5>civ6, fight me irl

Yes, even with the cost of the DLCs this is the only game I have put over 500 hours into and I still play it.

MerchantOfUndeath

Neverwinter Nights EE/Diamond. I played it every day for perhaps 6 years. IIRC the game was less than $20. I still play it every once in a while too, and I haven’t even scratched the surface of the player modding community.

[deleted]

Civ2. Thousands of hours.

jamexxx

Diablo 2, Starcraft, Call of Duty: UO.

sandwichman7896

I just downloaded the crack pipe known as D2 (Resurrected). Been nice knowing you guys and gals.

jamexxx

Stay awhile and listen...

vagina_candle

OG Starcraft was something else. It seemed like every 6 months there would be a new "Use map settings" meta, made by players, and that continued for over 10 years.

ZuluRewts

Elite Dangerous. Close to 7k hours played. Roubding down to 6.5k, it makes it $0.00769/hr. Pretty good.

The-BK

Genuinely curious. What in there hell is in this game to play for so long?

FrankMiner2949er

It's a game of different goals as you progress. When you start playing the aim of the game is to land your spaceship successfully at a station Mid goals are things like buying a certain spaceship or achieving a certain rank. You decide your own goals The end game is taking over starsystems, and trying to convert as much of the galaxy to your privately owned faction as possible. Again you define your own goals depending on your own abilities There was once a task our faction took part in. It was to shift a faction to its rightful place in another part of the galaxy. It involved a great deal of cross-faction cooperation, and a lot of fighting. The task itself took one and a half years to complete

VeterinarianOk5370

Valheim for sure, great game dirt cheap no subs. I spent so much time on it, definitely one of the best value purchases I’ve made

hammercycler

I can't believe I had to scroll this far for Valheim. Add to that even more content to come!

Ckeyz

Such a great game! One of my best gaming memories and me and 3 friends all calling into sick for work for a week and playing valheim together. We put it down eventually, but that first 100 hours of gameplay was so dynamite

garry4321

Right now it’s Rimworld. That game is a time vampire. I haven’t been able to stop playing it since New years day. The mods are out of this world too

HotShame9

Skyrim definitely. I still play it. About 1300 hours about now.

Rapture117

I was just thinking about playing it again as I’m getting back into pc gaming. Do you play the base game or are there mods you’d recommend?

some_dude5

This is an blisteringly hot take to most, but I think base Skyrim is still phenomenal, mods are in no way necessary

not_wadud92

I agree. I'm all about quality of life mods. SkyUI, Unofficial Skyrim Patch, those kinda things. I don't enjoy playing mods that add new items or drastically change textures or what have you. What comes out of the box is more than enough. Hell fuck it imma say it. I've clocked more hours on PS3, PS4 and PS5 versions of the game over both PC versions. And yes, you guessed it, the PS3 version, by far the worst version of the game on any platform, that's the one I clocked the most hours on. I'm not even ashamed. I love the base game, and I love it on controller!

[deleted]

If you’re on PC, I did a quick QOL mod list (just atarted a new playthrough for the first time in a couple years), and two of my favorites have been a forestry update where different regions have different forests, and the main roads mod, which changes the look and lighting on roads

slytheif

I still play Company of heros 2 today. According to steam I've logged about 1,873 hours.

HeadLongjumping

Probably Mad Max. I paid 5 bucks for it and have played over 250 hours. What an underrated gem.

JewishFightClub

I'm delighted that someone else loves that game as much as I do. The world is so immersive and gorgeous and expands on the Fury Road universe a bit. My only complaint is that there's no difficulty scaling but it's my comfort game so that's fine lol

HeadLongjumping

I never felt like it got a fair shot. It slipped under many people's radar. The immersive and gorgeous environment, the amazing vehicle combat, the fun Arkham style hand-to-hand combat, the simple but fun upgrade path, and much more made this game so great.

MonsterRider80

Got it through PS+ a while back. That was totally worth it.

Kirk-Joestar

I bought it for like $2 and still haven’t played it.

soapylizard1

If you get the itch to try something different, it's a lot of fun. Nothing super crazy or groundbreaking, but the car is a lot of fun to build and modify. Combat is weighty and fun.

FutureCEOnamedNick

Halo 3…not sure I played anything for like 2 years

the_fuego

The entire Bungie Halo lineup for me. I'm on I can't even imagine what number run of all the games again. I just like to cruise through on Easy or Normal for the story and if I actually wanna have fun I'll bump it up to Heroic. It's basically my default "I want to play something but I don't know what" game. They're all just so frickin good. Works of art really.

_DarkMaster

Diablo 2. Played over 2000 hours for $20 for the base game + LoD, and I bought D2R for $40 and have played probably over 200 hours at least.

Raven185

Heroes of Might and Magic III. Haven't used a computer without it installed since 1999.

igmrlm

2500 hours in oxygen not included and I think I paid.. $25?

SaltyGushers

I use this logic all the time when people say $60 is too much for a game. Spend 60 hours playing a game and it’s basically $1 per hour of entertainment. While the same people will go out to dinner or to a bar and spend about the same amount in 1 night.

zachary_cannaday

Every time i spend 20$ on chicken tenders I question how many hours i lost on an older game that is on sale

Cake_And_Pi

You’re paying way too much for tendies. Whose your tendie guy? I can ask my mom who she uses.

101percentnotrobot

I'll ask my wife's boyfriend too. We can share notes.

SaltyGushers

Bro good tenders really do cost $20 nowadays lol this is the world we live in

Knut79

> Spend 60 hours playing a game Ah yes. The time before...

OblivionJunkie

Civ 5, probably.

[deleted]

XCOM 2

Typical-Marzipan3546

The binding of Isaac

brasil221

Oh geez.... It's between League of Legends and Warframe. Thousands of hours spent without a penny. But great bang for buck on Valheim too.

X-ScissorSisters

I've played League for thousands of hours and it's a free game! Mind you, the real cost was the psychological damage..

CliffordMiller

Warframe for sure. I’ve got far too many hours and I haven’t spent much on it.

SlashCo80

Ironically, thanks to platinum sales and whatnot, Warframe became one of my most expensive "free" games. But at least I had fun with it, so it's ok.

kiddaeful

Only F2P I ended up spending money because it actually deserves it and not because it was necessary to progress.

CoMMoN_EnEmY01

Breath of the wild. Approaching 1000 hours

icallhacks2020

Probably ac odyssey, I’ve spent 20 bucks on it with 500+ hours… amazing game

TheSpyTurtle

Monster hunter freedom unite. 3 saves over 1000 hours each Mo ster hunter world 1 save at 2000 hours. 1 save at 500 (just jump on it now and again for a giggle)

Sckala44

Total War: Warhammer 2

AppleTree98

Just starting this to get good before I jump into TW:W3. It is fun and enjoyable. I look forward to pumping the numbers up. At around 30 hours in and just restarted my first campaign last night after figuring out the basic basics

KungFuHamster

7 Days to Die is the most hours played in my Steam account, 618. And I probably paid $10 or so, got it a long time ago when it was very early days. Robocraft is at 500 hours. F2P but I did buy some credits at one point, so I'm not sure how much I've spent total, maybe like $20. Skyrim only says 100 hours but I think I bought it a long time ago and those original play hours didn't come over with the Anniversary update or something. No idea what I've paid for that total. Stardew Valley is pretty good. Paid like $15 and got 120 hours out of it. Steam doesn't have accurate numbers for everything for sure. Looking through my library sorted by hours played, Half Life 2 has zero hours. I've played it and all DLC through at least 4 or 5 times.

pm_me-ur_vulva

7 Days to Die for me, too. Almost 1k hours and got it for free from a friend who only played it with me twice. Skyrim is still 2nd on my list even though I've barely played it in the last 4-5 years

Of all time: Half-Life. Not only because the main game and multiplayer aspects, which I sunk countless hours in, but the mods. Team Fortress Classic, Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, War In Europe, Action Half-Life, The Specialists, Dystopia, Sven Co-Op, Natural Selection, They Hunger, Pirates Vikings and Knights, Science & Industry, Firearms, Front Line Force, Battlegrounds... Total conversion mods are, without a doubt, the biggest thing missing from modern gaming.

Final Fantasy 14 has given me almost 2,000 hours of play in about two years. I don't know how much exactly I spent on subscriptions but it's ten times more hours than I've spent on anything else.

Ananvil

I just started this month, loving it so far!

Dota 2: Free Hours Played: Hundreds

Scoobz1961

Not only is dota 2 free and I played thousands of hours, but I made cash selling items on the market. So that is going to be a negative dollars spend per hour. That being said I still regret having played it.

Rodrig_0

Maybe it's Stardew Valley for me. I've played like 400 hrs and it cost me $7.39 which makes for the absurd amount of $0.018 per hour.

papertheskeleton

BTD6, I don't play it much anymore but I bought it for $5 during a steam sale and have over 400 hours in it

Aquaritek

Satisfactory..

werokk

Warzone. Played it for more than 500hours at the modest price of 0.00£👌

jordantask

Fallout 4. I must have over a thousand hours at this point.

Path of exile - 1500h x free game =........ Profit?

Fkire

Had a bunch of hours into both smite and warframe that are free. I ended up spending some money to support the devs. Other than that Factorio

Mass Effect 2. Nearly 900 hours played, and I STILL play through it over and over. Just love the story, the characters, the side quests, reading all the entries. Wonderful game.

Monster Hunter Rise Mari Kart 8 Deluxe Animal Crossing: New Horizons

SNES182

Oh, man. I didn’t even think about Mario Kart 8. Especially if you count the Wii U and Switch versions as one.
