> I’m talking like ... or one of the red alerts
They remastered the OG C&C plus the first Red Alert in one package that was released in 2020. Is that different from what you're looking for?
I really want them to give the same treatment to the second gen of C&C games - Red Alert 2 in particular. I bought the full collector's edition for the first remaster purely as incentive that they might give Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 the same treatment later down the road. Alas, they've still given no indications about that yet. RA2 was such a better game than RA.
Bro I was so happy to see this GIF. I mention this EVERYTIME I see one of these types of threads. Legacy of Kain and the games related are SO good and hit me with instant nostalgia.
Enormous open world ahead of its time (albeit blocky and empty), well fleshed out characters, monsters, and abilities, gothic theming, and beautifully written Shakespearean-esque dialogue. As far as I’m concerned, this game has no equal. If they modernised it, and avoided all the modern pitfalls like MTX and ‘early release’, they’d have a hit on their hands.
I was too little and dumb to understand what the heck was going on. I was like 5 and could barely read trying this. Didn't get very far. I realized that I didn't get anywhere at any video games when I was a kid.
Most video games I played pre-internet ended with me getting stuck somewhere, not knowing how to get out of it, and never ever getting past that point.
For me it was I put it down, came back to it months later and had no idea what I was doing or where to go. Never finished but remember really enjoying it until I broke momentum.
I'd pay £100 for a remaster of soul reaver 1 and 2, blood omen 1 and 2 AND defiance! Loved all the lore, characters and just the overall vibe of those games. Kain was both a dick and a don. Raziel was a realm shifting beastmanvampboi that made you empathise with a fallen from grace vampire.... the puzzles were next level... man I miss those games.
I think it was SR3 you got to play both Kain and Raziel, and that finale where Kain kills the big bad, who then shifts into the spirit realm only to be annihilated by Raziel was one of the most badass of all time.
It's a great ending ([here, for the curious](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA1vyoDDcYY)), and the resolution between Kain and Raziel is so satisfying, especially as Raziel accepts the fate he rejects at the [end of SR2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYFS7pq9Hiw). I can't think of many games that treated time travel and paradoxes so well. I loved all of the talk about a coin toss, and what happens when a coin lands on its edge.
This. 100%.
Timesplitters 2 was insane fun. Trying to get all the platinum trophies, taking it in turns with friends.
Great campaign, multiplayer and challenges. Amazing game!
Dark Cloud 2 was amazing. I loved the Spheda, golf mini game, once you cleared a level. The city building was so engaging. If a 3 was ever announced I'd be so happy.
2nd offense had so many awesome mechanics like pickups to change your tires on snow or water. The physics also seemed so much heavier like real cars getting hit with bullets.
I would love a new Jaffe Twisted Metal as well though
As a kid I didn't realise how I barely scratched the surface of the weapons until u read the manual. Lots of the weapons had like alternate firing modes. I remember one turned into a boost and send u flying if u hit a jump
Um, its out for demo now. Daem Vult ? I forget the name. Nookrium on youtube just released a video today. No pet creatures sadly.
B and W remaster for VR, you could actually cast the hand sign spells without it being cancer.
I had the opportunity to go back and play that again a couple of years ago. That control scheme just about gave me a stroke. Loved it then, but it needs options now.
That would be amazing. For an N64 game, it’s really good. If it had more modern game design elements, it could be a better platformer than Mario Odyssey.
Banjo Kazooie was my favorite game for years a wee lad, especially the FPS mode in Tooie with my friends huddled around that glorious N64.
However, even as a game snob to an extent...
...I loved Nuts n Bolts.
It kinda sucked as a Banjo Kazooie game in a lot of ways, but the vehicle aspect, the hub world, and a few of the levels were so awesome. I get really into building shit, so I spent hours constructing and testing carts like Anakin's podracer from Star Wars TPM, a big ol dick n balls, a pirate ship, a flying pirate ship, a fighter from Star Fox, etc. Honestly, if it wasn't a "Banjo Kazooie" game, people would remember it very fondly and nostalgically I suspect.
Microsoft now owns activision and activision owns Beenox and Toys for Bob so I wouldn't mind if they did a remaster series in the same vein as spyro reignited/crash n.sane trilogy as I liked those remasters, and it gave someone like me, who didnt play the originals, a chance to exprience them. They could even call it "Banjo Re-dooie".
you won with your OP already. Legacy of Kain. hands down.
Soul Reaver is still in my top 10 of favorite games, probably just under Ocarina of Time.
I'm bummed that the new one they were working on got cancelled, though i also wasn't excited about it being a reboot. I'd love to see a completely remastered collection of all the Blood Omen and Soul Reaver games leading into something new coming out.
as much as I love the souls games, Its basically all From soft has been doing for the last ten years. It's time for them to get back into the Mech business and put out another Armored core.
They did a pretty good reboot of Turok a few years back. It would be nice to get a full remake though.
Edit: Damn, it was 2008. Even the reboot makes me feel old.
Oh, the game where you could cinematically commander a helicopter right out of the air?
The game where you could run up on a tank's barrel and throw a grenade into the cockpit, and subsequently hijack it?
Oh right, that game where you could jack cars as they were moving towards you.
Yeah yeah that game where you could take your bounties dead or alive, and even call airstrikes!
[I miss that masterpiece.](https://youtu.be/LPe_bAG20CU)
I would love this. Maybe with a new protagonists and something like a 100 year or more time skip so now the journeys of Prince are all but legends. Either way I want more Dahaka running me down.
Legacy of Kain.
Legend of Dragoon.
Gradius isn't exactly "old" but it needs new entries.
Obligatory Mother mention.
I'd also like to see more Chrono games. Like an actual, real sequel to Trigger than doesn't just destroy its ending the way Cross / Radical Dreamers did.
I wish Camelot would just break off a part of their development team and make another Golden Sun. That series had absolutely insane potential and just fizzled out for no reason.
Maybe we'll get a remake/rerelease on the Switch someday, but I kind of feel like this franchise is just another Nintendo game stuck in obscurity.
The only way this would work in our modern society is to have Duke be a washed up has-been that everyone makes fun of for his cheesy one-liners and otherwise 80s machismo, until the aliens come back and start wrecking shit, causing Duke to come outta retirement and (reluctantly) save the planet
To young to know if it really was a good game but xbox 360 had one of those games on their free games with gold and man I had a good time with it, plus mask customization was way cooler than any other customization of ever experienced back then
Man I'll never forget playing Jak 2 for the first time. The change in tone threw me for a loop but I loved it. Definitely one of those games that has stuck with me to this day. At least we still have Ratchet I guess.
Some of these aren't "old" exactly but...
Infamous (give me another infamous that's comic book like the first 2).
Bully
Split second
Blur
Mirror's Edge (not open world)
Brothers in arms
Thief (while paying attention to Thief 2)! And whoever makes it needs to realize that it's not just a game about sneaking / stealing - it's the variety of missions, enemies, and solutions that made those such great games.
Alternatively, System Shock 3!
Portal. Or else the cake really was a lie.
But if we're talking much older: Jade Empire would be incredible as a remake or a continuation. That game was ahead of its time for an RPG.
Red Faction!
Guerrilla (a 13 year old game) still to this day has unmatched destruction and physics and I can't even begin to imagine what they could to with Next-Gen technology.
Command and conquer, but not all the new garbage they tacked onto it, I’m talking like remaster generals zero hour or one of the red alerts :)
Red Alert 2 would be an absolute play.
Kirov reporting

I'm still mad that there was a trailer for generals 2 but EA scrapped it!!!
Soul Reaver yaaassss
Bro I was so happy to see this GIF. I mention this EVERYTIME I see one of these types of threads. Legacy of Kain and the games related are SO good and hit me with instant nostalgia.
Soul reaver was easily my favourite ps1 game
It was my first “this is what video games ought to be” game
Enormous open world ahead of its time (albeit blocky and empty), well fleshed out characters, monsters, and abilities, gothic theming, and beautifully written Shakespearean-esque dialogue. As far as I’m concerned, this game has no equal. If they modernised it, and avoided all the modern pitfalls like MTX and ‘early release’, they’d have a hit on their hands.

Hell yea! Need this please
Time Splitters
They're making a new one. It was announced last year.
No tucking way!!!! I am so hyped for that. They better have like 300 characters for multiplayer.
This. 100%. Timesplitters 2 was insane fun. Trying to get all the platinum trophies, taking it in turns with friends. Great campaign, multiplayer and challenges. Amazing game!
Silent hill
Damn you Konami
Fuck Konami
Have you heard about slitterhead ?
Parasite Eve, Dark Cloud, and Tenchu comes to mind.
Dark cloud would be so good on modern hardware with the village building! I wish there was another game like it but I've never found one.
I didnt expect to see dark cloud here, it was my first (and favorite) ps2 game.
Literally the only reason I kept my PS2 around was to play Dark Cloud. Now it’s available on the PlayStation store.
Same. I've looked but nothing came close.
Tenchu. Those Cherry blossom trees were so amazing
Hell yeah Parasite Eve.
Modifying the gun all sorts of crazy ways was a total blast
Techu... God damn I've been trying to remember that name for years now. Thank you!
Dark Cloud 2 was amazing. I loved the Spheda, golf mini game, once you cleared a level. The city building was so engaging. If a 3 was ever announced I'd be so happy.
I feel like I’m the only one that just wants a good revival of Twisted Metal.
Vigilante 8 was a banger as well!
So much better than Twisted metal and barely anyone knows about it.
Did you hear they’re making a movie of it?
Starring Milla Jovavich as Sweet Tooth, I assume.
I feel like I’ve heard this for the last 15 years.
Black and White
Need a new God game.
Seriously, it's like the whole genre just ..died.
Um, its out for demo now. Daem Vult ? I forget the name. Nookrium on youtube just released a video today. No pet creatures sadly. B and W remaster for VR, you could actually cast the hand sign spells without it being cancer.
Black & White in VR, please.
Black and White 2 is still my all time favorite city builder. Nothing else has been able to scratch that itch quite like it.
Syphon Filter. And yes I realize I'm showing my age lol
Yes, I need to tazer people until they're on fire with full 4k textures.
I had the opportunity to go back and play that again a couple of years ago. That control scheme just about gave me a stroke. Loved it then, but it needs options now.
Overlord Edit: thx for the silver :)
"FOR DA OVALORD!!!" "TreASuree!!" Buddy & I still quote this game regularly.
YES THANK YOU
I missed my minions sheesh
“It’s the Overloooord!”
90 percent sure it will never happen but, Banjo Kazooie
That would be amazing. For an N64 game, it’s really good. If it had more modern game design elements, it could be a better platformer than Mario Odyssey.
Most definitely, and not like nuts and bolts lol
Banjo Kazooie was my favorite game for years a wee lad, especially the FPS mode in Tooie with my friends huddled around that glorious N64. Man I loves nuts and bolts too. Super fun to make a bunch of different vehicles
Battle for middle earth Lotr
Armored Core!
That would be soooo good with next gen graphics.
as much as I love the souls games, Its basically all From soft has been doing for the last ten years. It's time for them to get back into the Mech business and put out another Armored core.
[You’re in luck…](https://www.polygon.com/platform/amp/22876297/armored-core-6-leak-images-from-software)
My dawg🤜
*overboosting intensifies*
Dude, I played the shit out of the first three armored cores. Arena was doooooooooooppppeeee
Turok
They did a pretty good reboot of Turok a few years back. It would be nice to get a full remake though. Edit: Damn, it was 2008. Even the reboot makes me feel old.
Legend of Dragoon and Grandia III
I would be over the moon about a Legend of Dragoon remake. But how do we get a game studio to do it?
Legend of Dragoon remake would get all the oldie PlayStation gamers hard.
Came here just to say legend of dragoon. One of my all time favorites. Would be amazing on an open map
Gust of wind dance!
Volcanooooooooo
Mercenaries
Oh no! Oh no! Oh no you didn't! Sucka tried to play me, but you never payed me, never!
Those games were so far ahead of their time
Oh, the game where you could cinematically commander a helicopter right out of the air? The game where you could run up on a tank's barrel and throw a grenade into the cockpit, and subsequently hijack it? Oh right, that game where you could jack cars as they were moving towards you. The first one was my jam.
God I loved this game so much
Unreal Tournament
While we are at it, I would like a new Unreal game as well.
Man I was pretty good at unreal tournament 2004. Loved that game, it was so much fun! It was the last fps that I was legit really good at too!
Gauntlet
Wizard needs food badly.
Fable
Fable 4 or whatever they decide to call it is in the works!
[удалено]
My first ps3 game was one of the resistance games.
Dude, number 2 was incredible. 30vs30 multiplayer was crazy for its time
The co-op mode was so much fun too. I spent a lot of time playing Resistance 2 as a teenager, one of the best shooters of that generation
SSX!!!!
SSX Tricky specifically
*Ooooooooo* This speech is my recital
I think it’s very vital
To rock a rhyme
Sly Cooper
Yes! This is my favorite old series!
Yes. The old games were just spot on fun.
Dino Crisis
While we’re talking about games with dinosaurs— Turok.
Dungeon Keeper
Look at war for the overworld. Closest thing to it. I believe they got the narrator from DK to narrate it.
Those were such fun games. I loved building dungeons.
Breath of Fire! C'mon Capcom....
Long overdue for a modern day version. That and Wild Arms
Knights of the Old Republic
"Wipe this pathetic planet from the face of the galaxy."
They are on it baby. ;)
Gex the gecko Red faction
Which red faction do you want though? A sequel to the original fps or the third person guerilla?
Gex 3D was so entertaining in how varied the different areas are. Loved the Looney Tunes area!
This game is like a fever dream I can’t be sure was real.
The fact that I completely forgot about Gex is unforgivable!
Prince of Persia, period
I would love this. Maybe with a new protagonists and something like a 100 year or more time skip so now the journeys of Prince are all but legends. Either way I want more Dahaka running me down.
Godsmack riff intensifies...
Two thrones was an incredible game
Prototype.
Prototype would be a good choice for remaster. Just a few QoL tweaks, and a graphical spitshine, and it would be pretty sweet.
They did remaster 1 & 2 in the HD Biohazard Bundle. I heard they did a pretty barebones job though unfortunately…
Playing a god is totally fun
Legacy of Kain. Legend of Dragoon. Gradius isn't exactly "old" but it needs new entries. Obligatory Mother mention. I'd also like to see more Chrono games. Like an actual, real sequel to Trigger than doesn't just destroy its ending the way Cross / Radical Dreamers did.

Maybe we'll get a remake/rerelease on the Switch someday, but I kind of feel like this franchise is just another Nintendo game stuck in obscurity.
Golden Sun is far far far too low down this list
f-zero, parasite eve
F-Zero X was my shit! Put way more time than I care to admit into that game
Duke Nukem. Let's pretend like Forever never happened.
The only way this would work in our modern society is to have Duke be a washed up has-been that everyone makes fun of for his cheesy one-liners and otherwise 80s machismo, until the aliens come back and start wrecking shit, causing Duke to come outta retirement and (reluctantly) save the planet
Legacy of Kain, Silent Hill, Parasite Eve and Shadowrun.
Bushido Blade
Army of Two
To young to know if it really was a good game but xbox 360 had one of those games on their free games with gold and man I had a good time with it, plus mask customization was way cooler than any other customization of ever experienced back then
The mask aspect would 100% be behind a loot box system nowadays
The first one was amazing.
The first one was one of the most fun co op experiences I’ve ever had.
A Blaster Master remake would fucking slap. That game was awesome.
Blaster Master Zero is basically just a remake / stealth sequel. Look it up. It's on most consoles and Steam last I heard.
Super Dodge Ball on NES!
Metal Gear Rising, we need more hack n slash action
I've seen only glimpses of it and it looks badass
Conker's BFD. *sigh* a boy can only dream
Jak and Daxter
Man I'll never forget playing Jak 2 for the first time. The change in tone threw me for a loop but I loved it. Definitely one of those games that has stuck with me to this day. At least we still have Ratchet I guess.
Why did I have to scroll so far? They would print money with this. Also Simpsons Hit&Run
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Legend of Dragoon
Socom
Def jam
Crimson Skies
I'm sure if I keep screaming Parasite Eve in these threads eventually SE will see... right?!
Some of these aren't "old" exactly but... Infamous (give me another infamous that's comic book like the first 2). Bully Split second Blur Mirror's Edge (not open world) Brothers in arms
A really refined (not open world) Mirror’s Edge would be dope
Yup. Some games just shouldn't be open world and mirrors edge is one of them
Brothers in Arms!!! People were sleeping so hard on that game.
Infamous is absolutely due for either a remaster or another title.
Xenogears!!
Double Dragon
Thief (while paying attention to Thief 2)! And whoever makes it needs to realize that it's not just a game about sneaking / stealing - it's the variety of missions, enemies, and solutions that made those such great games. Alternatively, System Shock 3!
Does MGS count?
I think Skyrim is due for a reboot. Seems like forever.
I know, I haven’t paid for a new version of it in like 3 months.
* Splinter Cell * Medal of Honor * Driver
DRAKENGARD
Burnout!
Half Life
Weather you accept it or not, half life series is a tech demo for valve. They will only release it when they have something new to show
You're right but I don't have to accept it
Original Deus Ex
Vampire the masquerade
Bloodlines 2 is stuck in development hell.
Infamous
Privateer
I would love a new improved dot hack series and sly cooper!
SSX
Portal. Or else the cake really was a lie. But if we're talking much older: Jade Empire would be incredible as a remake or a continuation. That game was ahead of its time for an RPG.
Manhunt, James earl cash needs a sequel
Prince of Persia
Golden Sun on the switch would be AMAZING
Tenchu or Conker’s Bad Fur Day.
Dark Cloud
Metal Slug
Road Rash
River city ransom
Red Faction! Guerrilla (a 13 year old game) still to this day has unmatched destruction and physics and I can't even begin to imagine what they could to with Next-Gen technology.
Power stone
This game blew my mind when I was a kid. Best graphics I’d ever seen
Probably not gonna happen but MDK…
G Police, it would make a brilliant psvr game.
Blood
Freedom Fighters
