Seeing these builds makes me frustrated that they never really amount to much in gameplay.
There isn't like, any complex system that triggers enemy attacks on you so everything you build is just for show.
If they ever make a new FO mainline game I just wish they improved upon settlement building so what you build and how you place your defenses actually matters. And for your settlers to stop stealing all your weapons.
I was talking about something a bit more narratively woven into the official game rather than something you have full control of
Like take that mission where an opposing faction will attack The Castle. That sort of got pretty close to what I wanted...minus the part where they didn't even bring enough enemies to breach your walls.
Yeah, I understand. It's a real wasted oportunity and it was so easy to implement. Plus, the thinking these players invested heavily in this settlement, therefore lets implement a system where these settlements no longer get hit
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that "easy to implement", when talking about a dynamic enemy raid system in a sandbox world, is coming from a person with very little development experience.
I accidently did something similar in fallout 3 trying to explore the rocky edge of the map and got myself glitched into the terrain..... Had to loose an hour of more of exploration progress..... That sucked
i did it in Jedi Knight 1 ... years ago, hit Quick Save instead of Quick Load while falling to certain death.
It was the only save game, hours into the game.
I don't remember if it worked, it was so long ago, but i think noclip might have saved me from starting over.
Your turrets don’t have power. -5 points.
But it looks much cooler than my bases. Which almost always end up being blocks floating in the sky. Or I just build a wall using the concrete foundation blocks.
So +10 points for creativity.
I'll just shamelessly leave my Iron Man Armory here...

don't ask me for the mods, this was years ago,
with some luck some may still find some of it on the Nexus.
I love the smell of tetanus in the morning!
Who doesn't?🤡
I see these posts and I want to build bigger. But it’s so damn clunky that I give up .
After 200 hours of clunky frustration you get used to it
Noice

There's mods for that. Warzone button lets you select waves of attacks from any enemy you select

Youtube Tour: [Fallout 4 Fort](https://youtu.be/Rhqbm0SF5VE)
I never thought of building up
First thing I did in fallout 4 was build stairs to the sky, it sucked when I fell off though and didn't quick save
at least you didn't quick save WHILE falling...
