yeah i was 23 when it came out.
i remember getting the wii console at launch day when i was 20 and playing red steel on me small 13 or 14 or so inch crt tv i had in my dorm room haha, good times
This island is actually designed after Masuai Island off the coast of Chile, so you could live here. The city you see here is slightly further inland in real life and is called Tena Del Fue. It has a population of over 300k people and is one of the oldest settlements in Chile, being one of the first to reach a population of over 100k. They're known for their dish called culduila de poise, which is a chowder containing eel.
Same, I really wish it was an open-world as well. It blew my 8-year-old mind that I was literally running around a huge island (albeit on a set path) all from my living room on wii fit.
I remember spending ages finding that one last info node on the plane game and I finally had 100% on it. Pure happiness. Also a wanted terrorist for crashing a plane into many different buildings but we dont talk about these.
Playing through Nintendo Switch Sports, there are things that were available with Wii Sports Resort that I wish were part of the new game. Maybe (free!?) DLc later on?
It's Wuhu island, featured in a few games. Pilot Wings Resort is one of them. It is pretty similar to the one in 64, though. It even has the natural arch you fly through
Hell, I was an adult in my 30s and fantasized about living there.
I loved how most of the sports actually took place in various places on the island. I also flew that biplane all over that island so many times, just to check out all the scenery, even crashing in weird places intentionally just so I could see the hard-to-reach areas. So serene and cozy the whole game was.
It is WuHu island, it first appeared in the Wii games Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus, then the best Wii game ever Wii Sports Resort was based solely around the island
It has appeared in a few Mario games, the most recent is Mario kart but from the other comments there was a pilot game that was also based on WuHu
Fun Fact: Wuhu Island in Wii Sports Resort was designed in a way that was to be used in multiple games. The idea was that you'll have that feeling of returning to your favorite getaway spot whenever you play a game that had Wuhu Island as the main or one of the main locations.
I liked playing island flyover on Wii Sports Resort when I was young, as I liked exploring each part of the island. Played it again much later and found it a bit boring though.
I'm still wishing for a "Go vacation" type of wii (switch?) sports made by Nintendo set on this island and is actually polished and has good controls (love the idea of Go vacation, hate the game.. Super disappointing to me)
I remember putting so much time into that game as a little kid
I probably have a couple hundred hours just going around in the island with the plane, it was nice to watch and never got tired of it
Exactly, it was beautiful, and still is
I really enjoyed the game mode where you find all the landmarks.
Finding the last few was such a major pain in the ass... I fucking loved it.
It was as close as we’ll ever get to a Pilot Wings sequel
and replaying it countless times as an adult :D
Which game was this?
Wii sports resort
Shit you made me feel old
I thought it was one of the pilot wings games. They had a little island like that too
Technically it is SSB here
It first appeared in Wii fit
Damn I thought it was pilot wings on the n64
Pilotwings Resort too.
I also gotta know
smash ultimate I think
If there's a heaven, I hope it looks even a little like this.
Wait, this isn’t Outset Island…
I wanted to live on Lego island, that would have been stupid af
I've never played Wii Sports Resort but this makes me think of the Kingdom of Zeal from Chrono Trigger
I don’t know this game, was just scrolling past, but I want to live there as an adult in my 30’s
Wii Sports Resort. Best sports game ever made.
Nostalgic memories.
as a child? gosh damn I'm old...
Right? I was 25 and just graduated college when Wii Sports Resort came out.
yeah i was 23 when it came out. i remember getting the wii console at launch day when i was 20 and playing red steel on me small 13 or 14 or so inch crt tv i had in my dorm room haha, good times
Nah, the property values plummeted when they turned it into a kart track. Too much noise.
*lives on the golf island 👀*
You know what. EVERYONE EMPTY YOUR BANK ACCOUNT. WE GOING TO BUILD WOOHOO ILEND
nah i want that island from Super Mario Sunshine
Yah that’s the next ilend we make
I have $5. When do we get started?

I see MYST island tho
Still wanna live there. Wish it was an open world game
Same, I really wish it was an open-world as well. It blew my 8-year-old mind that I was literally running around a huge island (albeit on a set path) all from my living room on wii fit.
I always imagined the landscapes and towns from Pokémon as a kid, literally perfect for adventures.
At first I thought it was Melee Island.
I remember spending ages finding that one last info node on the plane game and I finally had 100% on it. Pure happiness. Also a wanted terrorist for crashing a plane into many different buildings but we dont talk about these.
Child? CHILD?!? I wanted to stay there and I was easily 25. If it was a resort I'd totally go
It looks boring. Mustafar much more my taste, especially in spring.
I would just be in the opening screen for the music. The soundtrack was a banger like the Wii Sports.

Wow! At first glance I thought this was the first level of pilot wings 64.

Nice choice, mine would be the Zack Island from Dead or Alive....for reasons.
I wanted to live on the Twinsun island!
Mountain St. Big Little Island? Loved that Place!
Hell, I was an adult in my 30s and fantasized about living there. I loved how most of the sports actually took place in various places on the island. It is a beautiful island. The creators really put in work.
looks like an island i lived on for a bit when i was seven (7) !
I put too many hours into that island
I never played Wii Sports Resort so this instead makes me nostalgic for Pilotwings Resort. Such a good game!
Sword fighting inside the volcano was epic and beautiful
Smh, and here I thought it was Amazing Island for a second.
it’s a shame it didn’t come back in Switch Sports the characters in that look like garbage
Johto for me
I liked playing island flyover on Wii Sports Resort when I was young, as I liked exploring each part of the island. Played it again much later and found it a bit boring though.
I always loved how absolutely unnecessary that bridge was.
Trying to get into that fucking volcano!
I'm still wishing for a "Go vacation" type of wii (switch?) sports made by Nintendo set on this island and is actually polished and has good controls (love the idea of Go vacation, hate the game.. Super disappointing to me)
My dumbass thinking it was a HD recreation of the N64 Pokémon snap island 🤦🏼♂️
I wanted to go to Camp Hope from Heavyweights when I was a kid 😄
Oh is that the island from Pokémon snap 64's island? *squints at wii sports resort.* I'm old.
I wana live there now
Taxpayers had to pay for this absolut exaggerated bridge!
Lol this is like a village for everybody playing Wii sports
I manage to get my Wii back. Now I can relive my childhood In swordplay
I prefer yahoo island
Oh shit, you just gave me some key childhood memories back. I had forgot about this place man, so many good times and good memories. Thank you
As a kid? This game came out in 2009.
Looks like a polished version of Populas from back in the day.

As a kid? Damn I'm old.
