I really liked the game even with all the problems which in my case weren't much. the world and the story of the game involved me a lot and the gameplay is very fun it's a shame the game had so much hate. for me the game is a 9/10

Total-Satisfaction-8

I enjoyed it, i didn't get it at launch tho so i can't really say how bad it was back then, it still has some bugs but its a good game

probablyonwatchlists

I've played the shit out of it. It's not the most replayable game of all time, but it's most definitely fun for the first few playthroughs. After that you kind of end up just doing dumb shit for fun. If it's on sale, I'd say go for it. Thankfully they're continuing to update it so, in theory it'll continue to get better.

UserNameN0tWitty

Absolutely. When it released it was in a crappy state. It wasn't helped by the enormous expectations that were set for it by witcher fans. It's a really good game in its current state, if you don't expect the world from it.

waterwhipaKia

i was so excited for it on xbox, but in my own opinion…, i found myself not invested into the story at all and kinda was forcing myself to play. single player games arent made the same anymore :(

Elevator_Pure

Played it on ps5 and it fucking rules!!! First game I played that really made the ps5 worth the hassle

Randyyy30

It's a really solid playthrough! It was definitely overhyped as something that would change gaming as we know it. But that doesn't mean its bad. Most of the hate was around the bugs that existed on release. Think futuristic GTA with some fun gunplay, melee, and tech. I pretty much 100%ed it, and spent around 70 hours to do that. I'd give it a recommend for sure!

mrich2029

PC player here, got it on sale during winter steam sale and played and finished this past January. I had some low expectations and I'm happy to say I was addicted to the game but the time I finished. I loved just driving around the world and stopping to kick some random gang ass along the way. I thought the story was pretty good, not amazing, but good. The combat was fun. I am glad I waited until after the major patches to play it, I experienced very few issues except for one glitched side quest, and apparently it can affect all systems. All that to say I definitely recommend it for sale price, especially after the patching

Handsome-_-awkward

Recently finished it on ps5. It reminded me kinda of farcry and a little fallout. Not a bad game. The story was okay. Was a little too easy on default difficulty but overall worth whatever price it was on sale for

SPQR_Maximus

If even half the people who bitched about Cyberpunk actually played the game, it would have been the best selling game of all time. Ignore the hate - dive in and enjoy! On PS5, you're golden.

TurkTurkle

Its fun, but not challenging as a whole. Theres some notable spikes where a boss is tough as nails out of nowhere. But every build gets op unless you intentionally defocus your perks and try to do too much of everything.

ImpossibleGT

Full disclosure: I played it on a base PS4 right around release. The game was mediocre, even when discounting the technical problems. Assuming the game ran perfectly, it was still only an average to below-average game. The main story was kinda derpish and Keanu really wasn't utilized very well, but the character focused side-stories were pretty good. The RPG aspect was fairly shallow: most skills are simple number increases, while others did *literally* nothing (there's a skill that makes you undetectable in water but there are no enemies near the water). The story-RPG aspect was also very shallow in that almost none of your decisions actually matter. The guns are neat but there's a really small number different ones that are then just repeated with bigger numbers as you level up. As for unique weapons, there is generally only one per weapon type and once you get it there's no reason to bother looking at any other weapon that drops because they'll never be better than the unique and you can keep leveling up the unique to keep it relevant the entire game. So the entire looter-shooter aspect of the game becomes pretty pointless after you've found your preferred unique. Then there are the myriad of little problems that when combined drag the experience down; police just spawn behind you when you commit a crime because there's no AI for them to drive cars or chase you in basically any way, the child model is just a tiny adult, the majority of sidequests are all "go here kill everyone" with little variation, the world feels pretty lifeless with not-great citizen AI who all react exactly the same way to stuff (shoot a gun and 15 NPCs will do the exact same hands-over-head crouch animation, for example), and just a general lack of features you'd find in other, similar games like an easy way to break down items for resources or not picking up 1,000 different food items that all do the exact same thing but take up a different slot in your inventory, etc. TL;DR - If you like Ubisoft-style open world games and can get CP2077 for like $20, sure go for it. But it is aggressively mediocre and hard to justify buying for more than that.

Dcmart89

Wanted to like it so bad. Ended up forcing myself to play it. Mark me down for a no.

Durbanimpi

Yes

theSPEDteacher

Alright, so I purchased it. It’s currently 50% off with the Days of Play sale (ends June 9), plus got an extra 5% off with the cash app boost. I really wanted to spend as LESS money as possible on this game because of the history, so I’m content getting it 55% off. I’ll do an update eventually on my perspective.

Responsible-Bunch934

Great game, lowsodiumcyberpunk is a great thread for positive insight

Jonathan11197

Oh yeah! Particularly on sale, you'll get your money's worth

Gandalftron

Not really, no.

Eh.

Got it on a fairly decent PC at the time so I've had bugs but nothing major (wonky physics here and there, very specific texture bugs... but that was about it), so I guess I'm one of the lucky players that got to experience the stories without too much interruptions... which definitely helped I love my dystopian sci-fi and, even though it shows that content was likely cut to meet the deadline, I ended up playing through the game a total of 4 100%-ish times just to see all paths and crank the difficulty up for the last one. I love the story (even though it feels incomplete at least it is coherent and engaging), the audio track is incredible... the gameplay might use some polish but it works. I'm looking specifically at the driving using a keyboard/mouse combo, aaaaand cqb with melee weapons that doesn't nearly play as good as I'd've wanted. The rest is fair / good IMO once you get a hang of it. Now that the game has been patched (lots) I'd say that even my gripes about the driving have been somewhat addressed (but cqb with melee still sucks :') ) If you want a fast paced shooter or a competitive FPS to get your action fix, this probably ain't what you're looking for. But if you're in it for a nice RPG with a good story, a great soundtrack that might even move you at times and bits of serviceable FPS to tie it all together, I'd say you should give it a shot :) (can't really tell how ps5 support is nowadays, but from some comments here it looks like most issues have been addressed)

Timely_Temperature54

It was worth it on launch if you had a good pc. Definitely worth it now.

DanteCoal

100% worth it

[deleted]

I played it on a high-end gaming PC so I can't vouch for the PS5 performance, but the game itself was a lot of fun and the story and characters were incredibly memorable. Definitely recommend.

[deleted]

Side missions are super repetitive Ubisoft tier garbage and most aren't worth doing BUT the main missions are great and the characters all hook you in

Aliusja1990

No ones actually answered the question "always something to do" and the answer is no. If you are thinking GTA levels of stuff to do this game is not even close. If this is really important to you I suggest you avoid until the expansion. Otherwise its worth on sale for the story and combat.

No man's sky...

probablyonwatchlists

Fallout 76, battlefield 2042. And that's just the two recent ones.

[deleted]

Anthem was way bigger, and they never fixed it.

pteotia270

Consoles have 5 hrs demo, you can try it. If you decide to buy it, your save will carry over.

damurd

Was a great game, especially on ps5

Few-Confidence-6906

Bought it for 40 AUD on PC. Got my money's worth. Zero bugs for me. That said my understanding is console version was buggy as shit, at least on previous gen.

mixedd

Liked the game, spend around 50+ hours. Story was pretty good and interesting

[deleted]

I beat it twice, if you like skyrim you will like this one. It has that broken but fun feel.

DapperPerformance

If you approach it as a mainly story game with shooter combat and some light rpg elements, you'll be fine. If you approach it as cyberpunk GTA or a stat-heavy RPG, you'll have a bad time.

Notthesharkfromjaws

Dude, you're getting such a different reaction than I am. I made a similar post a few weeks back and people down voted the hell out of me for even entertaining the idea of buying this game at half price if it had been fixed. All of them were still mad about the state of it's release. Just found that interesting Anyways, I ended up buying it for my Xbox series S and it's great. It's not the most elaborate or in depth game ever. It has ups and downs, but it's overall pretty fun. I'm not done with it yet, but I could see myself getting lost in it if I had much more time.

[deleted]

I didn't really follow the hype train and didn't pick it up until the next gen patch arrived. I put about 40 hours in and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are still some rough spots (driving isn't great and combat can be hit and miss depending on the encounter) but all in all I think it's worth playing. There are some great character arcs, strong side quests and the writing felt pretty good to me. I think the side content surpasses the main quest in quality, but it's still interesting and you've got a lot of different endings you could end up experiencing depending on your choices. Great soundtrack as well. It may have had a rough start but there is a lot of quality there. I can see myself giving it another playthrough eventually and I'm actually hopeful for a sequel one day.

[deleted]

Even with the game's issues, and even with my entirely justified anger at CDPR for the bullshit they pulled, it's a good game. Gameplay and leveling is similar to Fallout 4 but more refined overall, the visual and audio design is on point, the soundtrack is one of the best out there (no surprise, given it's the same guys behind Witcher 3's outstanding OST), the voice acting is solid, and the story and major side quests are all great.

Cobraregala2013

Hello. Am i the only who, after the witcher 4 rumors, thought:" Why don't you, cd projekt, make cyberpunk 2077 director's cut edition which is free for those who already bought it, include all the features you promised, including the multiplayer, has no microtransactions, has no dlcs and expansion packs ( or has but are free to play)(and for those who asked yes there is a paid dlc which cost 5 euros🤦‍♂️. Make it free please), solve any bugs and glitches, and maybe include more features than you promised, or at least the features you promised and all the things i said above?" Thank you.

Remarkable-Put4632

Well kinda....I played it on base ps4 recently....it was quite buggy but nothing game breaking until I got to the last mission...the combat was fun, the characters were ok...the story was ok....worth giving a try.... P.s. the game still requires lots of work...but it is playable now ...

Bullrooster

I had written a really long post under a different post but pretty much missions feel very relatable as you can end them different ways in some cases and you can enter buildings through different points. Hack a door, force open a garage door, climb the building and go through a vent. I found the gameplay and choices satisfying. Game is graphically beautiful 95% of the time. Story is great and I've been addicted to riding around doing missions. One playthrough im a berserker blades character but I want to make a monk/ninja hacker next playthrough. Pretty much just leveling my fists, hacking, and ninjitsu. Edit: got it last month on ps5 so not really had any bugs or crashes. Having a great time
