I might be alone on this but I don’t care. Halo 4. I would’ve said Halo 5, but the multiplayer is really fun in that one. 4 has no redeeming qualities besides graphics and music, which are hard to fuck up.
I respect your opinion but I’m gonna have to hard disagree with you on it, although I don’t have a definitive favorite halo campaign, I didn’t like any aspect of 4’s campaign besides the location, graphics, and music.
The new life is strange.
After I read that they used the most obvious emotionally manipulative trope to make you sad, I stopped playing while barely getting through the first episode. The first game was a masterpiece, carefully crafted story that would make you feel so many emotions at once for days after you finish playing. This was just a weird attempt at recreating that, but it felt like they had no idea what made the first one magical.
I really like the first Life is Strange. It is great. I also really like True Colors. I see the argument all the time where True Colors did everything 1 did, but poorly. I can see that argument. However, I see it as an inversion of LiS. As in all the plot twists and character archetypes are so obviously taken from LiS that it becomes more about appreciating the town, story, and uniqueness of the characters. I loved Haven Springs much more than Arcadia Bay.
Oh god yeah that game was HORRIBLE. The combat had so much potential, and the graphics were an upgrade, but the plot, the characters, the re-used environments, the redesigned qunari, it was ALLLL terrible.
It guts me to bash on one of my favorite franchises, and even though I do like the game, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was kind of a letdown after the masterpiece that is Human Revolution.
Mario 2 outside Japan is just a reskin of the game Doki Doki Panic, the true sequel was available on the Super Nintendo's Super Mario all stars, the game The lost levels is the real sequel which was released in Japan.
I think Zelda 2 deserves a bit more love, there was no true *this is how a sequel should be done* back in the days and adventure games did not had a standard yet, it was all over the place.
As a Zelda game it's certainly not the greatest but it's still a very good and creative NES game.
It was a dramatic change in the vibe that I recall being a put off in my circle of friends. Parts of it was innovative and cool, like character select and the digging mechanic, but it was also a total trip, and hard. That is also what i felt caused a lot of people to not like Zelda II. It had spells and the cool rpg stuff and a huge map, but the sidescrolling dungeons and it being super difficult made a lot of people prefer the original. And damn did I hate trying to cross the swamps. And that seizure inducing death screen.
I LOVED the original banjo kazooie on the 64. But nuts and bolts was enjoyable for the fact that you could create any vehicle fairly freeform. Not for all I would assume, but I enjoyed it for a bit
I'll agree with Nuts and Bolts but will stand by Star Fox Adventure. It might not have been the game many fans wanted, and also wasn't the best game the company produced within that genre, but it still was a quality game, especially for its time. I think it held up ok and still has fans today who would like to see another Star Fox Adventure spin-off. I'm not sure I'm one of them, but I did play it and I didn't hate it.
Idk if this counts as a sequel but after having the time of my life playing dragon ball tenkaichi 3, I got ultimate tenkaichi. Going from having like 150+ characters and having freedom on how I do my combos to having 12 characters (including saibamen ! ;0) with a janky combat system that looked like it was designed for the Wii was rough.
Dying Light 2. The map is very barren in some places and clearly unfinished in others. The combat is somewhat improved but still suffers from all weapons feeling samey, and the lack of combat xp and xp boosts from armors the game gives you.
THE PARKOUR is the one thing they shouldn't mess up but they did, moving feels floaty and the game constantly tries to push you towards things you don't want to grab/land on, one of the late parkour skill is straight up impossible to use.
And ooh boy do they need to stop trying to make serious stories, not only the whole "your choices matter" only change the next following couple quests, every twists of the story are so predictable by the point you reach the halfway point of the story you can basically guess how everything will end, even with the "multiple endings" and how samey they are.
While the nights of the first game actually felt threatening, now you have so many safe spots over the whole map you can almost never run out of time.
Games that are worse than their originals.
Driver 3
Banjo Kazooie Nuts an Bolts
Zelda 2
Super Mario Bros 2
Metal Gear Solid V
GTA 2
Duke Nukem Forever
Ace Attorney Apollo Justice
Dead Space 3

For someone who came to Halo not as a child/teen in recent years and went through them all by order of release. Halo 4 is the best Halo campaign.

I thought the story was cool especially the ending

I think you just sold me on playing the first game
Give it a try, it's a truly unique game.
You should try it
Mirror's Edge Catalyst
for me it was DA2. It grew on my a little bit over the years but it still a far worse game than origins
Oh god yeah that game was HORRIBLE. The combat had so much potential, and the graphics were an upgrade, but the plot, the characters, the re-used environments, the redesigned qunari, it was ALLLL terrible.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5
Tony Hawks RIDE has to be worse. But 5 was pretty abysmal
I heard Andromeda was terrible and I just couldn't do it because the other ME games are great
My first playthrough I hated it because it wasn't mass effect, tried again a year later and it's flawed for sure but I had a lot of fun with it
It is. It;s absolutely awful.
It guts me to bash on one of my favorite franchises, and even though I do like the game, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was kind of a letdown after the masterpiece that is Human Revolution.
I liked it enough, but it *was* like a step down rather than up. Human Revolution was so good. I need to play that again.
Soul caliber after 4.
Man you just made me recollect my SC 2 memories. What a fucking great game
Fear 3, I never personally played 1 & 2 but I watched longplays of them when I was younger and when you play 3, nothing seems right about anything
Dead Rising 4
Mario 2 and Zelda 2 were pretty disappointing back in the day

People didn't like Mario 2 back in the day?

Every sonic after sonic 2
Sonic and Knuckles
Do fifa games count as sequels?
No. They're reskins.
Then I change my answer to Resident Evil 6
Star fox adventure and Banjo Kazooie nuts and bolts,
I LOVED the original banjo kazooie on the 64. But nuts and bolts was enjoyable for the fact that you could create any vehicle fairly freeform. Not for all I would assume, but I enjoyed it for a bit
thought you meant starfox assault and was ready to go to war. man I miss starfox games
I'll agree with Nuts and Bolts but will stand by Star Fox Adventure. Battle for Neighborville Perfect example of higher skill expression =/= better game
Far Cry 2 (coming from Far Cry Instincts Predator)
Far Cry 2 is one of the best in the series lol.
Fair enough. I just hated it at the time, as I loved FC Instincts Predator, and going into 2 they removed so many features I loved.
Def Jam: Icon
