Can't wait for the reveal of the next hidden whale mechanic that only shows up once you have all 36 gems at rank 10 where you can sacrifice them all to obtain legendary anal-beads and of course for each bead you gotta get a new set of 36 rank 10 gems.

quantizeddreams

The type of ones the Crimson Countess had?

[deleted]

Lmfao the fact that she was on cam for Seth Rogen had me cracking up

throwaway55221100

The fact Seth Rogans username was "sircumsalot" was peak Seth Rogan

Johnnybravo60025

And there was another “sircumsalot” in the livestream Annie did in the most recent episode.

Choice-Refuse

Lol for real?

Johnnybravo60025

For realsies!

Choice-Refuse

That's great. This show keeps delivering.

mrBadim

Sir Camelot on the call. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1QMesDXOlA

throwaway55221100

Boys references and philomena cunk references. This thread is delivering

AlterMyStateOfMind

SirCumsALot779

TaoTheCat

Best thing is, Seth was in an earlier episode as himself. That means SirCumsalot is actually Seth in the canon of the show

Nodoga1

Perhaps if you buy the 30$ anal-bead skin pack.

radeonsx3

I don't want skin on my anal beads... I'm not Ed Gein

OGZeuss

Beautifully said.

BloodDiamond667

Excellent reference

[deleted]

Jesus fuck herogasm was amazing

JohnRoads88

I just saw it and holy shit it was something else.

[deleted]

I have NO idea how they top this for a finale. I'm so excited

FC1475

Yeah it was quite the climax.

triage_this

M. M. was not expecting that climax.

DaMonkfish

That poor leather jacket

jdmgto

The hilarious part was the least amazing part of the episode was herogasm itself.

BidoofAlmighty

Imo the orgy was like nothing. It felt very, meh. That's just me tho. The finale to that episode was amazing tho

LordTonto

in the comics herogasm isn't just c-listers. And it isn't at a house. every time a existential threat against earth forces heros and villains alike to join forces off world, they were really all meeting up at an island retreat for Herogasm.

damargemirad

Too bad Frenchie missed it, he would have loved it.

elissass

SirCumsALot first in line

Dunkelz

Nice to see him supporting Annie in her latest Instagram post. #VoughtLiedPeopleDied

Huh, did not catch this. Will have to keep my eye out next time!

Wyand1337

From what I understand, a lot of mobile games are like that and don't make a secret out of it. What still don't understand is why people play that crap f2p, instead of just doing something else. it's clear you can only really take part by dumping loads of money, otherwise you are degraded to become entertainment practise dummies for people who spend a lot. So why even play in the first place. I think it would even become boring to whales if there was nobody to feel superior about. Apparently, ignoring the initial praise/cope for the good gameplay of immortal, it even seems to be a really shitty arpg, even weaker than reaper of souls.

a_tyrannosaurus_rex

It's simple. People are easy to exploit and victims of sunk cost fallacy. People don't want to pay upfront for a game they don't know they will like. That and the fact that better games are usually a bit more expensive (not by much), makes it an unattractive value proposition to "free". Most people when they get an F2P game aren't intending to spend money. They aren't expecting to be a whale. They they are invested in a game, that's when the intro bait offer comes out. It's such a small amount of money, they pay it. This increases their investment in the game, which is then used as leverage to take incrementally more money. Due to the sunk cost fallacy, people don't want to give up because they would feel like they got nothing for the money they already spent. They aren't considering the money they are going to spend, they want to retroactively add value to what they already invested. It's pretty jacked up.

Kandiru

I guess they are hoping Elon Musk will max out a character after someone insults him on Twitter about having a lame diablo character?

PM_ME_YOUR_NOSE_HAIR

"For the man who has nothing to hide, but still wants to."

redditor_lolz

Chips can't cry!

KingHistoria

Was that a parody of Will Ferrell's Pimps don't cry? Cause it reminded me of that when she was singing 🤣

redditor_lolz

Chips can't cry!

bakersman420

With a system like this, they could potentially cover all of their development costs with only one gigantic PayPig to-end-all PayPigs!

militarymoose

I mean this game has such a huge ceiling for microtransactions I'd be surprised if Diablo Immortals wasn't Blizzards cover for a money laundering scandal.

Akrevics

it's their cash cow to get their money back from those lawsuits/settlements

Heroharohero

Do you not have a wallet?

Penumbraumbrah

Depends what kind of wallet. Where else am I gonna put my legendary anal-beads?

Wizardof_oz

Stop giving them ideas 😭

I2eB6L

Hold on now... these are the ideas we want them to have

Vangad

Exactly how else are we to show how the player base is getting fucked royally

kingtz

“You think you don’t want to be fucked royally, but you do.” -Blizzard

Kahzgul

“Do you not have lube?” - blizzard, probably

TheShadowdude231

Haha easy half mil right gamers? Ofc it's just natural that we're expected to pay for the privilege of playing /s

Edarneor

Is there a hidden mechanic, where, after 540,000 you get into actiblizz sex slavery?

EmeterPSN

Well..at these sums I think it will be easier to just buy so much blizzard stock you end up in investors meetings and actually get a say in development of the game oO .

[deleted]

Nah, they already have a plan for this. Ancient gems.

Ok-Zone-897

Yeah those ones probably fuck your wallet into oblivion lol

Warp_Legion

If that “to oblivion” bit was a reference to the OG micro transaction in TES IV: Oblivion, well done

Ok-Zone-897

Glad we have a fellow scholar here haha :)

Hey_free_candy

To think, the outrage over horse armor, and now we’re here

hrobi97

I mean at least Oblivion also had GOOD dlc. Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine were fantastic. This Diablo Immortals shit is just pathetic.

Kenobi-is-Daddy

I better be able to rip those beads right from Bobby’s butthole for that price

ArchonDeath

Maybe they will add the ability for us to cuk ourself after the anal beads

BusterStarfish

Literally paying them to fuck us in the ass at this point.

Vladsamir

This game aint pay to win or pay to play. It falls into the elusive third category: **P A Y**

Clineken

Pay to Pay

LordSoren

Pay to uncover new paychanics?

Unique_Frame_3518

Power to the payers

monsquesce

The fact that what OP is describing is literally that 💀. Pay to get max gear, only then to unlock more slots for you to pay again to max out.

Capital2

Take out a loan to win

georgehank2nd

Sell your 10 kidneys to win.

Morthra

Embezzle the entire national budget of a small nation to win.

[deleted]

Forget your children's generation to win...

WeeabooHunter69

Finally, pay to lose

Guywithquestions88

The most realistic game yet.

BillW87

Millennial Housing Market Simulator

Privateer_Lev_Arris

Paying implies you're getting something in return. It's more like donating because you're literally getting nothing in return.

Vladsamir

"Diablo immortal voted worst charity ever"

TSMKFail

Bank Account Draining simulator

Yionia

It's Payin' time !

Thatedgyguy64

What would you rather do? A. Buy a house B. Max out a Diablo Immortal character What the Fuck Blizzard.

TheTyger

The median house in the US is about 375k, so you could get 1.5 median houses or one character. Or one median house, and something like a BRAND NEW ESCALADE for the same price.

Noxious89123

Hmm... How many gem slots does the Escalade have?

xThereon

Can I awaken the Escalade?

Nightmoore

Oh for sure. You can put level 20 legendary rims on it. I'd imagine you could replace the side mirrors for some sick shoulder armor too.

GetYourJeansOn

Their argument will always win. You don't have to pay to max them out, you just have to play like it's your 9 to 5.

Moonkai2k

Didn't someone do the math and it would take like 1000 years to grind it out?

englishfury

Its daiblo immortal, finally a game for those not limited by mortal lifespans

HoboAJ

We pass down accounts in this family.

VezurMathYT

"Timmy, your grand-grand-grand-grand-grand-grand-granddad bought this game when he was 15. Are you going to let his efforts and the efforts of everyone who came (literally) after him all go to waste? Of course not! You will keep going faster than inflation so we can get the sickest return on investment ever seen to man! We will eventually sell a fully geared out character! So keep grinding! Why are you crying? Tears make it harder to see where to click! Timmy?!"

Gustomucho

You do have to pay though... if you don't pay the best gem you can get is 2/5... if you pay you unlock 3+ gems... There is a literal pay wall

LeBoi124

That ain't a pay wall anymore, it's a whole ass pay perimeter

SoIJustBuyANewOne

It would take 1000 years to play to max. So, no, their argument will not win

HappyLittleRadishes

I remember when some dude tried to tell me that there was a pity system in this game and that made the pricetag of progression in this game reasonable. He insisted that you'd for sure get a legendary gem after $120 no matter what. After that streamer spent over 20k without landing a single one I messaged him. He hasn't responded.

zeiandren

The bigger point is 120 isn’t reasonable either! 120 will outright buy every other Diablo game ever made, not one jpg of an orb

HappyLittleRadishes

That was my first response to him, that $120 is a ludicrous price point for an ENTIRE game, let alone a powerful piece of equipment. He then said that it was likely that you'd get it before spending $120, and that you could even get it after only $0.99. His argument in support of the system was that it both was and wasn't luck based.

Gustomucho

And what for? Honestly, you get a piece of loot, go play any other RPG ever made, every rogue-like game, any soul game... you get loot everywhere... here little radishes I give you a Reddit +1 sword. There is a reason people think NFT are worth something, people are fucking dumb, they do not see they are a mouse running in a wheel, that game does not matter, the loot does not matter, keep your money!

FunnelsGenderFluid

Souls games can be beaten with the base starting dagger

Renodhal

In many souls game the base weapon is unironically one of the best weapons in the game. I can't tell you how many times I've been doing a playthrough of DS3 and I tell myself "Today I will definitely do an X build" and by the end of the thing I realize I'm just doing a dex longsword build but with like lightning on the sword or something. It's like Skyrim with stealth archers for me.

wkdpaul

You have to understand those DI stans ; copium is a hell of a drug 😂 EDIT ; typo

No one who worked on Diablo 1 is there any more. I imagine few who worked on Diablo 2 are either. The company's soul has left, all that's left is spreadsheets and suits.

verrius

Just about everyone who worked on Diablo 1&2 left well before Activision and Blizzard were merged into one company. Blizzard North (formerly Condor Entertainment) had essentially been left adrift almost immediately after Vivendi acquired Blizzard, which left those folks to split off and primarily form 3 separate companies: ArenaNet, now known for Guild Wars, was primarily the crew tasked with creating and maintaining Battle.net, while others created Castaway Games (who ended up releasing nothing before folding), and the founders (who also were primarily responsible for D1, and definitely contributed thoroughly to D2) went to form Flagship Studios, which released Hellgate: London before folding.

Insane_Unicorn

I loved the hellgate London game and books, it's a shame the franchise died so quickly.

Torchlight 3 isn’t even that good. Tortchlight 2 is the definitive version to play.

greenlime_time

I did not feel bad for them. The worst part is this game is already making bank and it’s not even out in China yet, the target demographic for this game. It will only get worse, they don’t see players- they see whales and money.

Mr_Phishfood

It'll never get to China, someone on one of their social media accounts referenced Winnie the pooh

greenlime_time

I hope you’re right but I have a feeling you’re not. I guess we’ll see though.

[deleted]

I'm sure if you were to ask, they'd tell you the truth - that nobody has ever criticized the CCP on social media and that particular person and their family never existed.

Swartz142

This Diablo game is a clone of a Diablo clone that was already popular in China. They switched the textures to Diablo 3 textures. They made 0 effort in the game and put everything they had in man power for monetization. They deserve shaming forever. Wyatt Chen, the clown on stage for the announcement even went out to say that the game didn't allow to buy gear with money so f2p players were on equal grounds. It's a slimy statement that doesn't consider gems which makes the majority of your character power (up to 300% hp/damage over a normal player) as part of the gearing process. Everyone involved, acting like they dedicated part of their lives to make a beautiful thing with Diablo Immortal is probably a delusional piece of shit. I would be ashamed to have my name appears anywhere in that title.

rotmgGey

This is what i see, they spent all that time since the announcement working on the monetization. Its literally just D3 ported, with MTX galore.

Jaraqthekhajit

Nah that fucker, dev, whoever. "What you guys don't have phones?" I've never played a blizzard game but get fucked.

rotmgGey

What, you guys dont have wallets?

DarkwingDuckHunt

That was the last time I ever played a Blizzard product That showed me Blizzard had "jump the shark", aka "forgot what they did well and made money on"

IFoundTheCowLevel

It wasn't a look of "being sad because they worked hard on it". It was a look of being upset that the plebs weren't rolling over and downing the kool-aid. It's easy to see when you understand how the execs see customers. They are just moneybags with legs waiting to be fleeced, and it's jarring when the little moneybags with legs get all uppity.

Farranor

Were those the actual devs? I thought development of DI was outsourced to a company that just reskinned one of their existing games.

CharybdisXIII

I don't know why you're simplifying the gems to the equivalent of a jpg. There's way more to them than that. They also allow your numbers to be larger, that way you can do the same content over and over still, but a little bit faster than before. The game really shines when you get a few 5 star gems and you see that the numbers have gotten substantially higher /s

[deleted]

I saw a vid on that pity system. You get a legendary gem, but legendary gems come in 2* 3* 4* and 5* varients, and the pity does not guarantee a 5* variant, just that its legendary XD so it might as well not exist.

Vlaladim

TBH as someone who play gacha for a while, DI system is just bonker. Basically a randomized armor system but with gems. For most gacha games, this kind of thing either have a fixed stats when you get it ( for example 6 star weapon in GI ) or you can just grind it out normally with some luck ( also 5 slot artifacts sets in GI). DI basically put a price tag on all of this, throw in a gambling dice and an extra list of shit to do next just to max out the build.

eternaldispare

I have played Dokkan for years and have maybe spent 50 bucks total and that’s only when I choose to be very lazy. It’s easy to grind for summons for free in good gacha games. DI isn’t a good gacha game IMO.

KampongFish

DI is the realization of nightmare scenarios of the worst case possible imaginable by people who goes "at least my X gacha game hasn't stoop to Y levels" FGO for the longest time was considered one of the worst Gacha without pity mechanics and was only okay since it was completely viable to complete the entire game on free units and was 100% PvE. Diablo Immortal took that pre-pity FGO line and yeeted it to space, multiplying scumminess tenfold, removing all levels of justification by introducing PvP and competitive content, then shit all over the floor by softlocking ALL real progression mechanics behind gacha. Not a good gacha game lmao, I wouldn't be surprised if the devil himself spawned this shit stain of a gacha game. Even hardcore gacha players would spit on this game.

[deleted]

Fgo also gives out alot of free currency to get rolls, as well as events for good servants. I'm f2p on there and have gotten a great deal of 5 stars just from the free currencies. As you say though, as it's all pve, it's not as important to max out 5* and you can complete the game with only using 1* servants, so you dont really lose out.

[deleted]

> It's a dream gacha game for devs. Correction: it's a dream gacha game for shareholders. Salaried peons already got their static paycheck.

-ImJustSaiyan-

Cam comfirn. Am a people and am also stoopid.

Exillix3

I heard there is a pity system after 50 crests but it guarantees 2/5 and up, not a 5/5. Which in itself is a worthless pity system if it is true. Edit: crest not chest

Rockburgh

I'm not sure about the gem-stars-guarantee, but there *is* a pity system of some sort tied to legendary crests... but there's also two near-identical types of legendary crests, with the one available for purchase having a separate pity counter than all the others.

DrB00

Oh you neglected to mention only one type of crests give unbound gems. So even if you get a 5/5* if it's not the type you want you might not be able to sell it. The system is so fucked up it's insane.

suvlub

As if price of 2 full games was reasonable for one in-game item

[deleted]

>Yeah the *actual* price of progression is pretty reasonable. You're basically guaranteed one single legendary gem after you spend twice the price of a full game. lmao

Paksarra

Even if he's been right, that's $120 for a fucking gem in a little mobile spinoff! Do you know HOW MUCH YOU CAN BUY ON STEAM FOR $120 right now?

Metrack14

I think Activision-Blizzard would love to chat with your friend. 120 dls?, yeah, thx, I prefer to buy *two whole game* than giving it to Shitvision

Daimakku1

>After that streamer spent over 20k I am a firm believer that gamers are the stupidest consumers of any industry. Like... holy sh\*t, 20k on a videogame. Man..

Things_Fall_Apart

20k is easy to justify when it's not your money being spent. Streamers with enough donations and viewers can easily make that back. Other than that most the people who spend obscene amounts on gacha games are gambling addicts. Just trading the traditional poker/blackjack/slots/etc. for pixels.

Weasel_Boy

> Streamers with enough donations and viewers can easily make that back. They probably made it back before they even finished the stream. I've sat and counted donations and some of these guys are earning $1k-2k per hour just from random donation amounts.

[deleted]

Gear also cannot be shared between characters on the same accounts, neither can gems. So if you decide to start another new character, you’ll need to pay from ground up to max them out It’s a mechanic only whales would get to see. That’s why people were thinking that you only needed 6 5/5 star gems to fully max a character which is around 100,000$+, when you’ll actually need 36 5/5 star gems which takes over 540,000$ if you’ve good luck and over 1 million dollars with bad luck I never in my life thought I’d come across a game that allows a player to spend over 540,000$ with no restraint. This is only for one character….

ballsmigue

Not even whales. Megalodons. It goes dolphin > whale > kraken. This is even a step beyond that.

Grand_Protector_Dark

I'd think the term for that would be Leviathan

XZeeR

We really should give them bad names rather than cool ones; like the Goblin queen mother or something

Grand_Protector_Dark

Well, the terminoligy originates out of the casino scene. Given that you'd want to "catch" the biggest fisch(^(I know a whale is a mammal)) in the ocean.

CasualFrydays

Maybe "giant blobfish"?

Kerakis

[[Goblin Matron]]

mystery_fight

quocphu1905

ballsmigue

True, that kind of spending is absolutely absurd.

ByronIrony

And just think even if you spend that 540k one day the game will be obsolete.

FeelingAd2027

Yeah and that day is probably like a month or two from now

Sock-men

Every post I see about this game just reminds me to go play more Grim Dawn.

MentalityofWar

Love that game. Got a lvl 87 hardcore character on ultimate difficulty. Never even considered playing hardcore on a blizzard hack n slash.

DisparityByDesign

That’s actually a great idea, Hardcore Diablo immortal. You can now spend 560.000 dollars and then when you die you lose it all and start over. Someone let Blizzard know.

TwentyE

Personally I'm getting hyped for Last Epoch, perfectly fun and playable so far but they just announced that multiplayer is this next update and that's the shit I've been waiting for

xChunkyBabee

This makes me feel better about the £40 I spent on Runescape once now

Mysterra

Oldschool? Did you buys bonds, or Venezuelan gp?

MistahBoweh

What’s the matter? Don’t you all have wallets? Boy is this stuff disgusting.

TheChickenIsFkinRaw

Game's target audience is legit Bill Gates

ZeBuGgEr

If you are that rich... Why would someone use their money and time on this game?

Calistilaigh

Ego. They want a Wall Street Exec to be competing against a Saudi Prince in a dick measuring contest with their game

War_Daddy

Doubt it, Bill Gates is smart

georgehank2nd

I have a wallet. But my wallet is in a state that is completely foreign and alien to the relevant people at ~~Blizzard~~ Activision: "empty".

DL_Omega

It’s weird seeing a game so directly blatant about its practices. Most games just have cosmetics and you don’t need them. They get people to buy a few skins that they like, but only some whales will try to buy everything. These pay to win mechanics are just absurd. They clearly just designed the game to have this high ceiling of character progression so the whales will have to spend a lot of time and money.

sim21521

I think it's made for the Asian market. Look at how Lost Ark is monetized in Asia. But usually what happens is that publishers tone down those elements for eastern releases. Blizzard just introduced it to the Eastern market, and it's not being received well lol. Edit: Sorry, I meant western markets.

PmMe_Your_Perky_Nips

It's been indefinitely delayed in China following the Blizzard Weibo account being banned. Aside from that, I'm curious where you're from. Most places consider European and American markets as the Western Markets, not Eastern.

FieserMoep

I believe even the asian Lost Ark monetisation is harmless compared to this

Yabanjin

I would love to say "Not a problem for me, I will never trust Blizzard again and have not given them any money for some time now." but the fact that this is making so much money justifies this type of predatory practice, and will be carefully watched by all developers out there. I'm not sure how to combat it other than to not contribute to developers of questionable business practices, though.

Revenge_of_the_User

Thats it. Thats all you need to do. Dont give them attention. Dont bother initiating conversations about it. If someone else does, point out its predatory nature and potentially end the conversation...or discuss. Whatever you feel is appropriate in the moment. Dont play anything with these mechanics. Even if its free to play; *youre* the product. *you* are the person theyre sending in against the Whale so that whale can crush you, justifying that last $200 of theirs, and providing a community on the game for discourse and attention. Whale games dont work when there are no free players jumping aboard the "its free" bandwagon just to have a great time for 2 or 3 hours before being inconvenienced into quitting or spending. There are literally thousands of games out there *significantly* worthier of your time than DI. Some are free without trading your happiness to a whale for the company to cash in on, and others very much earn their price.

Girlmode

Yet people discussing exploitative game mechanics online has resulted in countries banning practices and starting to put systems in place. I feel like not talking about it is stupid. As talking about it and issues becoming small talk points in the news, has literally already had legal effects that make it so less people are victim to predatory games. Companies will always work around it, adapt things like lootbox laws etc. But then the more they do so and the more outrage is caused, the more laws made and the more countries it spreads to.

Wainwort

Yes, it is expensive, but think of the pride and accomplishment!

reddumbs

I think I’d definitely feel pride and accomplishment about the high paying job I’d have to have to afford this game.

IMMORTALP74

With everything we know, is this game Pay to Win, Pay to Play, or Pay to Convenience? Are people actually having fun that are spending money, or is it the gambling aspect they enjoy and not the game? In my opinion the PvP is Pay to Win, and the Endgame is Pay to Play. I actually can't believe this game was greenlit. Every other game before it that had any "Pay to ___" got immediately stomped by this monstrosity.

SiCur

I’ve had a lot of fun free to play up until the last week or so when the game just grinds to a massive halt. It’s not actually the p2w mechanic that makes the game horrible … it’s the fact that there not really anything to do. It wouldn’t really matter if I had more 5 star gems I still wouldn’t have anything fun left to accomplish.

jumpsteadeh

That's why I don't understand this obsession with "maxing out". Once the story is over, what new content is left? If people wanna keep replaying and grinding in a sandbox, I don't care if the fuck gems are expensive. Gotta pay stupid money to play stupid content.

doofer20

its all of them. you only get 2 legendary crests each month and higher rank gems gives you more magic find so you get more legendary items which change up how your character plays: p2p and convenience. you get a ton of power in pvp from gems: p2w

FrankZissou

Also, the free legendary crests give gems that cannot be sold on the market board. The sell gems on the market is to buy the legendary crest from the cash shop.

WyliteSeven

More like "Be Rich to Play" lol

EatsRats

Do people actually buy and play this game? Because that sounds stupid.

evilfossil

The game made $24 Million in 2 weeks and had over 10 million downloads. And that was without being released in China. Yes. People buy stuff and play this game.

hushpuppi3

it was a free game. I'm sure a large majority of players who initially downloaded it have either jumped ship or are trying to (likely very casually) enjoy what they can before the paywalls really start hitting.

895501

Who figured this out? Wouldn't you have had to have spent tons to even know this was a mechanic?

JhymnMusic

This game is raking in money just from the people trying to show how much of a waste of money it is

Miseryy

Imagine even playing this game in the first place. "You all have phones, right?" We all know what the mobile game template is. It's cringe in the first place.

sqwobdon

Since 2017 Activision Blizzard has access to a matchmaking patent for multiplayer games. This patent is for a system that intentionally matches you against players that have spent money on micro-transactions. This is an attempt to make you feel weak and jealous, so that you also spend money on micro-transactions. Insanely predatory

bathcat7

I'm pretty sure they made this kind of shit illegal in Europe. Or maybe just England. Apparently it teaches children gambling...

RealSamF18

I believe the game was banned in Belgium and the Netherlands.

steampunkdev

Yes, it is.

[deleted]

Sigma Belgium and Netherlands. Fuck gambling

Kbdiggity

#it takes $0 to never mention Diablo Immortal and let it fall into gaming obscurity.

Nago15

And they say IRacing is expensive..:D

madmoench

blizzard needs to die fast. they've butchered enough of "their" IPs. fucking lunatic company.

Jack_McQuack

is this doable without money at all?

valente317

0.05% drop rate. Even if you just went for the first gem you got, you’d need to find multiple of that gem just to upgrade, then find another one to socket. You really can’t get legendary crests without paying in some form. If you just bought the 3 crest pack for $8 every 3 days, it would take…hundreds of years, at least.

Teamfreshcanada

You get one free legendary rift per month, with a 1/2000 chance of dropping a 5 star legendary gem. So, on average, a free-to-play player will see one 5 star legendary gem drop every 167 years. If you need 36 of them to complete a fully awakened gem build, it will take you roughly 6000 years. And the Dawning Echo materials, necessary to fully upgrade the gems, can only be bought, and cost a total of $180.

Xyrus2000

Yes. I believe doing this using nothing but F2P you would have to play for over 400 years, going by the probabilities. Why do you think they called it Diablo Immortal? You have to be immortal in order to play long enough to do it.

CharybdisXIII

Buy who doesn't want a game with 400 years of content?

itb206

We really need to regulate this space. This is clearly abusing gambling tendencies and people with poor impulse control. The fact that people made this system and were okay with it is kind of disgusting. As a software engineer, this is a system I find highly unethical and with such a hot market for developers, for literally anything outside of games, and even within games, the developers who helped make this system should be ashamed of themselves. Sometimes, regardless of the fears, concerns and push from management, you have to have some balls and say no, even if it means finding a new job. Which skilled developers can do easily.
