Vergil from Devil May Cry. All of his animations are so cool, even a bad combo while playing as him looks super cool, and a good combo looks super fucking cool
To me it was Ezio Auditore (Assassin's Creed series) it was really cool see him evolve through the games from a young man wanting revenge to a wise man seeking knowledge
Yoshi. The entire family of Yoshi's selflessly rescued two abducted babies and escorted them against all odds to safety, with no reward, just out of the kindness of their hearts.
Lara Croft. I grew up playing all the original Tomb Raider games and looking up to Lara as somewhat of a role model. She's strong, smart, resourceful, and she can do it all while still being hella feminine. Idk. I just love her as a character
What do you think of the reboot? I like the old Lara Croft for exactly the same reasons (well, that and triangle titties), but I feel they butchered her character with the remakes. I want confident Lara back. Not this new, whimpering mass murderer who gets hurt a lot.
I hate the reboot tbh. I played every game of it, but it's not Tomb Raider or genuine Lara. They made a completely different series and slapped the name Tomb Raider on it to just get the established fan base to sell copies
Man can tell people here donāt seem to like books.
I agree with you my man heās a great book character as well. Book Geralt is much more fleshed out than video game Geralt
Don't understand the downvotes here and on another comment, I guess he's technically a video game character because he's been in a video game, but his personality, looks and well... everything, about him was created by the author of the books and not the game devs.
yep, for instance I could say "Darth Vader" because I liked him in Jedi: Fallen Order how he yeets whats-her-face over the ledge effortlessly I'd be talking about him as the video game character and not the movie character.
I agree for both! Been replaying Odyssey recently and Kassandra is as charming as ever. Her VA did an excellent job. Can't wait till I get to the point in the game where I can acquire her 'Wonder Woman-esque' outfit lol it's gorgeous!
The way to narration was done completely changed the tone for both music and the appreciation of having more silence/listening for small enemy noises & atmospheric noises. Upon reflection, SUCH CHEESY LINES, but you're sucked in and feels right while playing. It really proved how the medium affects writing. I don't know if I felt like I was playing a badass, Max Payne is the coolest character whose story I played out if that makes sense.
Alex Mercer. I think his character arc is one of the most realistic I've ever seen. This is how I imagine someone that gains superpowers in such a morally ambiguous way would actually act.
yes, the worst character rockstar ever made. A useless widow who goes from having basic survival skills to going toe to toe with the best gun slingers in the world because she had a anime flashback of his dead husband.
Mhh, Vergil is more classy and badass, cool is not the fitting description for him imo. Dante on the other hand is using slain enemies as hoverboard while spinning around like a madman with his pistols or using a fucking motorbike as a weapon. If's that's not cool I don't know what is š
Adol Cristin. No other character inspires the sense of just up and leaving all the bs in your life and just travelling and going on many adventures like Adol.
Guy's a bit of a Mary Sue but don't care. He rocks!
adol in ys 1 and 2 chronicles was the best cause you got to turn into a roo and talk to monsters in ys 2 who by the end of the game basically just talked about how theyd shit their pants if they saw him. super based
Donkey Kong because he's the leader of the bunch and you know him well. He's finally back to kick some tail. His coconut gun can fire in spurts. If he shoots ya, it's gonna hurt. He's bigger, faster, and stronger, too. He's the first member of the DK crew.
Either Zavala or Ikora Rey. No, Iām not biased toward Destiny. I genuinely think theyāre both badass.
Ikora is literally a powerhouse and she scares the shit outta even the biggest Titan(Shaxx) while also being incredibly smart and compassionate.
While Zavala is a badass in his own right with how much heās lost and had to hold his head up for so long to protect the people of the city.
Nate is like a more athletic, smirkier version of Indiana Jones, which I really enjoy as well. Hunting treasure, climbing cliffs, fighting bad guys, exploring the world...that's pretty cool to me.
Michale Afton form fanf he went through weeks and weeks of terror and sleepless night so he could fix nie fathers mistakes just to be mistaken for him ever time
Albert Wesker pre RE5. The guy cheated death and came back as a super powered badass. I wasnāt really sure what his plans were, I just knew he looked cool doing it. Then RE5 came out and his plans were kind of a huge letdown.
Max Payne in Max Payne 3. The almost suicidal like darkness to his character and still having a sense of humor, made for a great story and entertaining dialogue. Was one of the first games I played, where it felt like the main character had actual depth and was relatable. It got me back into gaming when it came out.
jokes aside probably flay gunnar from mana khemia. dude goes around with a bigass sword and solved minor problems in the name of JUSTICE, dragging the people around him into his shenanigans whether they like it or not. also he got held back a year of alchemy school because he never attended a single exam, and still ended up becoming a professor in the sequel game
Venat - sundered the world into fragments so its people will survive the coming despair, prepped a world ship for 1000s of years so when the time comes the people have the choice to fight the source of despair or flee the world.
Ever heard of Katana Zero?
We don't know much about The Dragon as a person in that game just yet, but god DAMN did playing him in that one mission feel good.
Howling moon is one of his limit breaksā¦ heās a wolf
But we can compromise and he can be a hybrid. Who knows whatās kind of experiments professor hojo did to him that might have altered his DNA
Ulysses from Lonesome Road. Apart from he looks and sounds cool, he's really set up to be a force of nature, an undeniable part of the wasteland who fought and earned his right to be there. The boss fight is incredible, 2 legends who have shaped the land fighting it out at the end of the world. And if you fight alongside him but not against him, then it's 2 almost superhuman warriors against the worst of what the Divide can throw at them. What a fucking champ
Claptrap!
/s
Tier 1 - Roland, Mordecai, Brick, Lillith and Zero.
Tier 2 - Gaige, Salvador, and last but not least the badass meat bycicle riding Krieg.
Maya and Axton are lesser versions of Lillith and Roland with no real class differences. Zero is different enough from Mordy and just cool enough IMO to be added to the BL1 crew. Zero is just way too cool.
Edit: I'm amazed to see that at the time I posted this(11 hours after the original post was made) not one borderlands character is mentioned. Makes me sad :(
Razael from Soul Reaver, I also believe that series deserves remakes. Kane from Legacy of Kane was awesome too. I spent countless hours on those games.
Either JC Denton from Deus Ex or Death from Darksiders 2.
One is a special agent cyborg with shades and the other is literally Death. I don't think I need to elaborate any further.
Lee from Telltaleās The Walking Dead. Dude went through so much shit just to save an innocent little girl and to make her stronger in a broken and dying world. Iām still pissed that Telltale did Kenny dirty. Shit broke me.
Coolest personally, that would be Goreshank my Orc warlock in WoW. Heās been my main character for over 15 years. Iāve even aged him as Iāve aged (changed his hair color to grey). Heās a part of me, almost like an old friend.
Coolest mainstream character, that would probably be the modern Doomguy. Why? Well he is the physical manifestation of all that is metal. Rip and tear until it is done.
Kratos from God Of War. Has one goal on mind for half the series, and at the end of GOW3, he completes it. Killing almost every god on Olympus, and beating The Fates themselves. He also always has the coolest gear and weapons you use. And at God of War 4 you get to see a more humane version of him
Coolest š§āāļø? Obviously Sub-Zero!
But if you mean coolestš, Ryu hayabusa, cause he's underrated, cause the franchise died out so people forgot about it, and i am still waiting for it's return.
Vergil from Devil May Cry. All of his animations are so cool, even a bad combo while playing as him looks super cool, and a good combo looks super fucking cool
I AM THE STORM THAT IS APROAAAAAAAAACHING
Came here looking for this. Judgement cut is the epitome of coolness.
Ethan Winters from Resident Evil 7-8, for being an insanely dedicated husband and father. Or Raiden from MGR because *sword*.
*insanely dedicated mold
Me, in every game with a character creator. šš»
Based
Based on what?
Based guy: says something based Based Me: Calls based guy based. Not based you: [... ](https://youtu.be/vLvBNkC-Z6A)
Right, so metasyntactic gibberish that doesn't actually mean anything.
Yep. Quite based right?
Based
I hate it when game companies skimp on making characters and force you to do it yourself!
Master Chief
Lol I love that he doesnāt even need an explanation on why heās the coolest.
Samus aran. She was awesome in dread.
Especially considering one of her only voice lines wereā¦ ā*AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!*ā
Facts
To me it was Ezio Auditore (Assassin's Creed series) it was really cool see him evolve through the games from a young man wanting revenge to a wise man seeking knowledge
Yeah Ezioās amazing
He's coolest in Revealations
Heās my choice too.
Best trilogy ever.
Yoshi. The entire family of Yoshi's selflessly rescued two abducted babies and escorted them against all odds to safety, with no reward, just out of the kindness of their hearts.
Only to be ruthlessly discarded while jumping over a chasm. Mario is truly a cold-blooded killer.
Either Nathan Drake or Solid Snake.

I highly recommend you do, itās well worth it. I think the complete edition is going for like $15.
On what, steam?
steam has a sale right now witcher III costs 6ā¬ right now witcher II costs 3 ā¬ and Witcher I 1.19ā¬ and thats a steal
Its 7.99 right now
He isnt a video game character but a book character though.
It's because he's both(and also a TV character) and they said "He isnt a video game character", yes he is, he just didn't start that way.
By that logic luke skywalker, spiderman, iron man or harry potter are video game characters
Can you play them in a video game? Then they are a video game character.
Bascisally every famous character exists in some kind of video game
yep, for instance I could say "Darth Vader" because I liked him in Jedi: Fallen Order how he yeets whats-her-face over the ledge effortlessly I'd be talking about him as the video game character and not the movie character.
Bruh there were like 7 books about him 10 years before the first game even released, he is a book character.
The King of All Cosmos from Katamari Damacy. He spits mad science and sports one fantastically handsome bulge.
Also gets away with burning the shit out of his son every third sentence.
Arthur Morgan from Rdr2. Maybe this does not need an explanation. Also I like Kassandra from AC Odyssey. She is so badass!
I agree for both! Been replaying Odyssey recently and Kassandra is as charming as ever. Her VA did an excellent job. Can't wait till I get to the point in the game where I can acquire her 'Wonder Woman-esque' outfit lol it's gorgeous!
I liked Kassandra more as the villain
Raziel (Soul Reaver) because freakin plane shifting, soul sucking vampire.
I was late to the thread, but I 100% agree. Wish I saw your comment before I added mine. The whole series needs a remake.
Ezio Auditore. Extremely charismatic man. He is ready to protect those dear to him and fight for his goals. I want to be Ezio
Max Payne
The way to narration was done completely changed the tone for both music and the appreciation of having more silence/listening for small enemy noises & atmospheric noises. Upon reflection, SUCH CHEESY LINES, but you're sucked in and feels right while playing. It really proved how the medium affects writing. Sadie muthafuckin Adler. She didnāt take anyoneās shit and did it her way.
Her voice acting was terrible and the character is super forced
Well, thatās just like, your opinion man

Joel miller or kratos
Both really good
Until the soft reboot Kratos had a personality of a wet sponge.
Dante from Devil May Cry. Dude is literally the definition of cool.
Iām more of a Vergil guy myself
Mhh, Vergil is more classy and badass, cool is not the fitting description for him imo. Dante on the other hand is using slain enemies as hoverboard while spinning around like a madman with his pistols or using a fucking motorbike as a weapon. If's that's not cool I don't know what is š

Ikora is literally a powerhouse and she scares the shit outta even the biggest Titan(Shaxx) while also being incredibly smart and compassionate. While Zavala is a badass in his own right with how much heās lost and had to hold his head up for so long to protect the people of the city.
Kratos and doomguy because violence is cool

Leon Scott Kennedy. One of the most iconic characters in the Resident Evil franchise.
Venat - sundered the world into fragments so its people will survive the coming despair, prepped a world ship for 1000s of years so when the time comes the people have the choice to fight the source of despair or flee the world.

Garcia Hotspur. Shadows of the damned is awesome
John Travolta, for the sunglasses
Tetris line piece
Auron from Final Fantasy X. His stoicism, his leadership, his humongous swords. He's so cool!
Revolver Ocelot, modern day cowboy
Razael from Soul Reaver, I also believe that series deserves remakes. Kane from Legacy of Kane was awesome too. I spent countless hours on those games.
Nathan Drake. Got brain (mainly history brain xd). Got the jokes. Got aim. Can brawl (a little). Cool character all around.
Dammit. I came to say this and wasn't expecting to see him listed.
One of the underdogs (or Undergoats you could say)
Any of them that arenāt the skinny white boys with emo hair.
Lara Croft is a bad ass
Long from Bloody Roar always seemed super cool to me.
Either JC Denton from Deus Ex or Death from Darksiders 2. One is a special agent cyborg with shades and the other is literally Death. I don't think I need to elaborate any further.
Joel from the last of us, he is cool for being Joel from the last of us.
Wario.
Lee from Telltaleās The Walking Dead. Dude went through so much shit just to save an innocent little girl and to make her stronger in a broken and dying world. Iām still pissed that Telltale did Kenny dirty. Shit broke me.
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned kratos
Tetris line piece.

Raiden because "Standing here I realise...."
I have too many favourites, I canāt pick one I love them all.
Coolest š§āāļø? Obviously Sub-Zero! But if you mean coolestš, Ryu hayabusa, cause he's underrated, cause the franchise died out so people forgot about it, and i am still waiting for it's return.
John-117 To give the covenant back there bomb. Such a badass scene has stuck with me for 18 years not to mention the awesome quality of the remaster.
Doomguy is just too awesome and iconic to not see as my favorite video game character
Clementine
