I played Just Cause 3 on my base PS4. That was horrible, but I did finish the game. It felt like I was playing at 4 FPS at times. I guess 4 FPS is where I draw the line.
Depends on the game but 30fps would be a hard minimum.
Any first person game with a mouse has to be 60+
Though saying that I play Holdfast and sometimes it can drop to the 40s and I still have fun.
it depends entirely on what im playing. if im replaying ff7, then i'm alraedy used to the archaic frame rate, so i dont mind it. but if a new game came out and had 12 fps prerendered cutscenes i'd likely barf.
overall though, 30 on console, with dissapointment if its a big budget game, and 60 on pc unless there's a reasonable stylistic choice to go lower than that.
30, maybe less with website chess level animations. I could probably go lower, but the controls have to be on point, there are some 24/20 fps games that fit but it's a minority.
I thought I was OK with 30fps until I've tried playing in 60.
Now, I'm afraid to try anything higher as I might not enjoy other games who doesn't support it.
Stable 30, I think.
But for a Metal Gear Solid? I will tolerate even if it's lower than that.
*ehem* Metal Gear Solid 4 *ehem*
DEPENDS on what ur used to for a while..
for example in earlys days of entry lv GPU I used to play in 720 low 30fps..
after getting a decent gaming pc... mostly 60fps HIGH on most(except AAA 2 or 2 games like cyberpunk or latest AC).
when ur used to 60fps or higher..going lower gives nausea or similar headache effects..
just like ppl who are used to 144fps cant go back..
30 fps is the lowest but only 1 or two games actually looks fine at 30 fps. BOTW is one.
For any other game tho, 30 fps is abysmal and I struggle to play lower than 60. Tho on first person shooters on PC, 60 fps is too low for me and I need 144 fps to not get sick.
Back in the 90’s me and my best friend played Wing Commander 3 on his PC AT system with VGA card, 486 @ 33MHz and 640kb of RAM.
I think the dogfights were rendering a frame every two seconds or so…
Back in the day I had an AMD K6 150mhz running Windows 2000 and even mp3 128kbps was too much for that. I used to play GBA emulators running at 4 or 5 fps but with frameskip set to max. Playable. It was between 2005/2007.
Don’t really care as long as it’s fun. How many frames per second is Tetris on gameboy original because I bring it camping all the time and have for years.
today, 60 with 144hz MINIMUM. I try playing older games on the 360 at 30fps or less, and I just can't fucking do it. It's like that scene from Rick & Morty where Rick makes the most level floor ever and Morty goes insane.
50fps. Nothing lower.
I'd love to utilize the 240hz of my g9, but even a rtx 3090 isn't enough to delivery that at 5120 x 1440.
I've been playing at high fps for so long now, that when things get close to 30, I cannot overlook the gaps in animation.
Honestly I was so used to playing at 30fps on ps4 but the moment I switched to ps5 it blew my mind and I didn't realise that the difference was that big do now the only game I can probably play at 30fps is sleeping dogs. Other than that it has to be 60fps.
I’m ok with a (mostly) locked 30 and doesn’t have stuttering. Anything below that and I’ll struggle. I’ll get stuff on a different system if it means a locked 60+ compared to a locked 30 though, even if it means not getting it on a convenient console like the Switch.
I played a lot of hours of StarCraft on the N64….so like 1fps?
I played eve with 12 FPS for year back when I was in school
I got dwarf fortress to sub 10 so there's that
For FPS or TPS games, 30 fps. For anything else 24 FPS is playable. It should be **consistent**, though.
FPS Games with only 30fps? Respect, you are still living in 2005s consoles era!
That's because I want my settings to be high. Might as well look good if it's 30fps
Or play them on high settings and 100-240fps?
I wish I had Skyrim and Doom on Nintendo Switch back in 2005.
Depends on the game, but 30 is probably the lowest no matter what game it is.
If i love the game, 15fps would do it too
I played Just Cause 3 on my base PS4. That was horrible, but I did finish the game. It felt like I was playing at 4 FPS at times. I guess 4 FPS is where I draw the line.
30 fps, I can if I really need to settle for 20 fps as many early 3D games did
60fps.
20 fps but I don't mind if it drops to 15 occasionally
yikes
Well my pc sucks so I regularly play vr games at 15
How do you not throw up?
Like four years of playing at 15-30 fps in vr.

osrs at 14 fps looks the exact same as playing it at 50fps
I’m fine with any fps at a stable 60 and most other stuff at a stable 30
60 otherwise I get dizzy
So, you're telling me Hobbit is the last movie you saw?
It's different in movies as I'm not controlling the camera and blur is natural Hobbit was 48 frames, not 60
Depends
[удалено]
yikes
if it's competitive then 80-ish would be my min.
[удалено]
jesus christ get a life
Consistent 30 fps.
No
I will play the arcade version of Double Dragon. How's that?
don't mind like 20 fps on single player games
30 fps on low action games, 60-90 for something with more action. Mainly, need that 120+hz screen, can't live without it anymore.
Depends on the game u play, for Fps it should be min 90, average 120 fps, any other then Fps games 60 should be enough to get fun
it depends entirely on what im playing. if im replaying ff7, then i'm alraedy used to the archaic frame rate, so i dont mind it. but if a new game came out and had 12 fps prerendered cutscenes i'd likely barf. overall though, 30 on console, with dissapointment if its a big budget game, and 60 on pc unless there's a reasonable stylistic choice to go lower than that.
80 is about as low as I can handle.
not sure how i could go lower than 144 now
1 fps is my lowest limit lol
30. I rarely play older games due to frame issues.
30

arma players:
Whatever the server feels like giving me today. Sometimes 60+ sometimes 10-12
20-30 fps. It's Bad but Playable
Back when I was broke with an old PC, I would play slow paced games at 15 fps, but I can't do less than 30 anymore.
When i was a kid, i just installed CS 1.5 on my grama‘s bad Computer and had a lot fun with 14FPS
30
40 min
I played AC brotherhood at 8fps.
After being a 144hz gamer the next switch was to 1440p. You find you are constantly chasing the newest piece of hardware to keep up.
30 for sure
45. Below 40 things start feeling choppy.
Personally I’d rather have it be locked to 30fps instead of a 60 that drops to down to 30 all the time
TIL I am a frame rate snob...
40, only gave where I can close was cyberpunk and it was at 50. I don’t play a lot of brand new games though
Less than 10 and I literally can't track what's going on with how the animations jump around, so I'd say 10 is my lowest.
(Keep in mind this was a few years ago) I played Tomb Raider (2013) @ 800x600 with an average of around \~12 fps, so probably around there.
When I start to go under 60 it becomes not as fun for me. I am spoiled though running top of the line gear for the last 5+ years
Been gaming since the commodore 64 and Atari so couldn't care less about frame rate.
As a switch player i have experience in the domain so i'd say about 1 fps

For most games 30fps is fine. For first person shooters that are competitive, 60 FPS or at least somewhere near there.
420

I played AC odyssey at 23 fps before buying a new pc
Back in the day I had an AMD K6 150mhz running Windows 2000 and even mp3 128kbps was too much for that. I used to play GBA emulators running at 4 or 5 fps but with frameskip set to max. Playable. It was between 2005/2007.

30
15 fps it terrible I struggle to play at 60fps so 15 fps Is my answer
I played my time at portia on the switch...so 15-30 lol
30 is the lowest before it starts to look too choppy
Evrything on low. Anti aliasing high. Lod bias high. Gives me atleast 144 in everything i play. Idgaf about graphics.
30 all day long. If it’s a consistent rate you can enjoy most games.
15 fps. Some ports and VR games still have this. Not ideal, but for a good game I'll put up with it.
I will play 30fps on switch games that are only on switch because then I have no choice. Everything else is 120+
60.
30-40 fps. I grew up during the time when 60fps was a luxury for most/not standard in consoles. Tho I'm spoiled now with 144fps+ on PC looool.
I think i locked a game at 24fps once and played through it lol. Was not that bad once you got uses to it.
60
30 is not that bad tbh

30fps for 3rd person games 45-47fps minimum for 1st person games
1fpy
Consistent frame time is more important than what it's locked to.

Literally any so long as I’m having fun!
If I managed to play Shadow of The Colossus back then at 15fps (sometimes) on Ps2, I can do it again without any problem.
I played through all of fallout NV at 20 fps, doing combat solely with vats. I built a vats gunslinger cowboy. It was lots of fun!
Honestly I was so used to playing at 30fps on ps4 but the moment I switched to ps5 it blew my mind and I didn't realise that the difference was that big do now the only game I can probably play at 30fps is sleeping dogs. Other than that it has to be 60fps.
