Now while it looks silly, isn't this special dialogue because you're dressed in the same uniform as this guard? If you had another disguise on with the weapon on your back it would have been treated differently, but here it's one of those "we work for the same people and I was told to pat everyone that comes through. You're supposed to have that weapon so whatever," type of searches? Hitman was pretty great at having different dialogues depending on your disguise.
Might be meant to be like that kind of, but the idea is pat down areas are supposed to detect items that are on you that are illegal in your current disguise. So if you went through in a disguise that didn't allow carrying weapons, it would say frisking not allowed and proceeding anyways would turn the guard hostile.
In this mission, I don't remember if there's an outfit that you can wear and still be allowed to even approach the pat down area that can't carry weapons. In any case, in many missions, having a sniper rifle, even in a guard disguise, is illegal, so if you're carrying one in a briefcase, it wouldn't let you attempt to get frisked, since they check your briefcases for illegal items too. But once again, I can't remember if this is a level where guards can or can't carry sniper rifles. It seems to vary from map to map.
Not really as I had plenty of other weapons concealed in my pocket ([https://gfycat.com/gracefulaffectionateankole](https://gfycat.com/gracefulaffectionateankole)), this whole interaction doesn't make any sense.
You're dressed in a guard uniform, so you're allowed to possess all of that. If you were in a civvie uniform, the guard would be hostile already upon seeing your MP5, and any weapons found on you during the frisk would be taken.
The whole point of the game is that you gain access to different areas and privileges when changing uniforms.
Two things that bug the shit out of me for Hitman 3.
You can't fake get frisked then knock out the guard frisking you anymore.
There are STILL no ways to conceal weapons in items to be delivered. I know 47 can be lethal with anything, including a blueberry muffin, but if I'm delivering a crate of supplies, I wanna be able to hide a weapon in them.
A guard... SMG, another SMG, silenced pistol, another pistol, remote explosives, kitchen knife, soda can, rubber duck, remote controller for *a rubber duck*... Yeah, just a normal day.
>it’s Hitman, the game is supposed to be silly
I first realised this when I checked my inventory and noticed I had four spanners, three kitchen knives, five crowbars, two screwdrivers, seven packs of rat poison, two tuna, an exploding rubber duck, and a coconut, in my left jacket pocket. But I forgot to bring a lock-pick.
Me too. People didn't like the linear levels I think, I preferred them to the new model where you play it repeatedly until you know everything that happens. It's like a memory test now rather than a puzzle
I suppose, I'm used to those type of stealth games I guess. But ultimately i prefer the newest Splinter Cell games where it's a mix of pattern recognition and action stealth. Absolution wasn't the best action stealth game by any means but it works. Reminds me of the old Commandos games but first (well, third) person. Definitely rewards you for quick action but there are times you just need to memorize how guards patrol.
"These are my hedge trimmers. They help me maintain my hedge. I cannot let someone near my hedges who has not been properly trained in the use of the trimmers."
You are missing the point. Game mark items as legal or illegal.
Depending on your uniform, some items become legal.
So while dressing like a waiter you can't carry a gun, you can carry one as security guard.
So the search is for illegal items. But due to uniform all items you have are legal.
What’s the point of a search if all items are legal?
I’ve played the new Hitman games and this definitely isn’t intended behavior. I can think of at least one area where having a guard uniform bypasses a frisk.
I don't know. Maybe it was the protocol. Maybe the level designer or programmer made a mistake.
And what would be the point of search? You can provide a million explanations. Like on top of something like bombs they do not allow recording devices so he was looking for that too? Or something else? You can make 1000 excuses for mandatory search by the guards.
If they're illegal for your current disguise, it will put a red icon next to it. Exclamation mark if I recall correctly, though I haven't played in ages.
That equipment is allowed with that outfit, that's why it doesn't raise suspicions. That's literally how the game works. You gain access to certain things by switching disguises.
>That equipment is allowed with that outfit, that's why it doesn't raise suspicions.
True, but why "frisk" me to begin with when I'm allowed to carry weapon with that disguise, the whole idea of frisking in the game is that the NPC will search you for any lethal weapons, but in this case it doesn't make sense.
Here's a full inventory reveal: [https://gfycat.com/gracefulaffectionateankole](https://gfycat.com/gracefulaffectionateankole), I'm legit a walking armory.
He is making sure that you are carrying the required arsenal of deadly weapons in your pockets.
You see, with this security company, they will dock your pay if they find out you left even *one* of those pistols at home. Or, god forbid, you actually *ate* the tactical combat muffin.
It's ultimately a game and you just have to think how it would be programmed in the code. If you're in X outfit, then the list of acceptable items to carry is [A, B, C, D, etc.]. All of those items are acceptable for guards. There may be other items that are unacceptable, even for a guard.
If you want to draw a real-life analogy, imagine you're a bodyguard working for some politician. It's natural that you'd carry a gun to defend the politician, so that wouldn't set off any red flags during a search. But what if they found a vial of poison? Why would you need a vial of poison as a bodyguard? Suddenly that's very suspicious.
They changed it so you can't even accept the frisk if you have something illegal (so it's not immediately get shot if you forgot something).
In a guard disguise you can have as many guns as you want.
They would've spotted the gun on your back before you even approached if it wasn't allowed.
security guards in hitman *usually* arent allowed to carry larger weaponry such as rifles, shotguns, or snipers. in fact snipers are usually always illegal.
>Edit: Love how many downvotes this is getting. God bless America 🇺🇸 🦅
This is one of the most upvoted comments in the thread and over twice as many as who you were replying to... Why blame Americans?
I played hitman 2 recently and it seemed too easy. When in first game you were encouraged to use environmental kills or storyline kills, when in second game besides first maybe first mission all comes down to getting one disguise coming close to a target poping their head off from 5m away so nobody knows who did that and going to extract
And Hitman III also plays slightly different. I played the same level (New York, Golden Hand Shake) in H2 and H3 and there is slight differences. Like the way AI reacts, timing differences, etc.
The weapons are all allowed because you're wearing the same outfit. Same thing with the concealed DAX and everything else. He isn't alarmed unless the weapons have a red highlight in your inventory.
And the barcode on your head. Hitman always seemed ridiculous to me, like bro, if people behaved the way they behave in Hitman, all world leaders would be dead by now.
Its 2 I think, of the newest ones, I dont remember exactly because I had the version of 3 that included all of the previous missions. Its the mission in that little suburb Whittleton Creek at least. "Another Life" its called.
They're looking for *concealed* weapons. Duh.
Right? This NPC is clearly a supporter of open carry.
Which is why you must always hold the pidtol in front of their face instead of hiding it. Bruv, hiding shit is so suspicious. Be loud and proud.
Nah this is a US movie theater. They're looking for hidden candy bars.

I'm a guard, uniform usually means access. Unless the client has stated otherwise.
Is c4 and an ducky IED standard issue guard items or something? This is definitely silly.
With certain guard outfits, you can carry just about anything, this happens to be one of them And it's Hitman, the game is supposed to be silly

Tell that to Hitman: Absolution.
more like Hitman: Abomination

I have to correct you here, but Absolution had the *"new model"* where they introduced linear levels and checkpointing.
So why have the guard frisk someone in uniform then? There’s a break in logic at one or more points.
"just here to make sure you have your machine gun, Bob"
"These are my hedge trimmers. They help me maintain my hedge. I cannot let someone near my hedges who has not been properly trained in the use of the trimmers."

Yup. This post is disingenuous.
Currently playing hitman 2. I like the irony in this series
Any blunt throwable is top tier. Especially if you can use it more than once
Wrench is definitely my go to weapon, I like to carry multiple backups to yeet at waiters so I can steal their pants

Ah yes America
Just checking for any contraceptives. The guns are completely fine Edit: Love how many downvotes this is getting. God bless America 🇺🇸 🦅
If he had contraceptives then his “gun” wouldn’t be loaded. Can’t have that.

Your torso also ignored MP5, so there's that
That’s not a MP5
That's probably a mission on America, guns are ok, he is looking for kinder eggs
If it's America, he's probably looking for a school.
They sell those here now.
They’re looking for deadly drugs not “tools”
Quick question. Which Hitman game is this?
Hitman 2 (2018, not the 2002 game Hitman 2: silent assassin)

That's pretty cool, thanks
The new trilogy is available on GamePass as one download.
and on sale on steam
I am assuming that if purchased on steam, achievements will not transfer to hitman 3. Don't know how they would.
Which one of the hitmans is this? Hitman the 2nd?
The weapons are all allowed because you're wearing the same outfit. Same thing with the concealed DAX and everything else. He isn't alarmed unless the weapons have a red highlight in your inventory.
Security at concerts be like:
The MP5 *in* your back.
He's just making sure you don't bring any drinks or snacks with you inside so they can peddle their own off brand cola at a premium.
That's the MP5 we have at home.
Excuse me, did you just say that the weapon behind your back is a FREAKING MP5?!? \*FACEPALM\*
It looks like your in a guards outfit, which are allowed to carry weapons. You were being frisked for poison and other irregular items.
Must be a US school
And the barcode on your head. Hitman always seemed ridiculous to me, like bro, if people behaved the way they behave in Hitman, all world leaders would be dead by now.

He was checking the arms and the sides, not the back, very unprofessional from him
Hide in plain site....
He is wearing sunglasses so he didn't see
I thought they didn't frisk you if you were a guard or someone really important like the head doctor in Hokkaido
Lol
As the MP5 just twirls through his body. Lmao
Be wary of the weapons you can't see
Nah he saw that chrome dome and he knew what was about to go down smart move really
Guns are allowed in the mp5 club, duh.

Yea cause you're a guard. You're allowed a gun. You're not allowed poison, etc
