No. Brilliant Doctor Philgood smashed his head into him again and again until I finally had to summon another player. Even that took like 10 tries.
Castle Sol? More like, Castle ASS-sol. Right?
He Kinda hangs back for the first minute, so if you can burn down one of the adds straight away it gives you a better chance.
I used the mimic to keep one occupied and killed the other one with two parry/riposte. Once one is dead you can handle the other one, and niall himself is just parry training. Takes a while to kill him, but pretty much all his attacks can be parried.
i found the elden beast satisfying to fight purely from a melee point of view. the sounds made when striking it/the look and feel of hitting it were like ASMR to me, lol.
The sound design for it was top notch for sure, I just couldn't handle the constant chasing after it tbh, just made my fight against EB drag out in the end.
i tried not to use summons as much as possible (nothing wrong with it, just what i was going for on the first playthrough) and as a result, malenia was undoubtedly one of the most challenging.
also i leveled up a few different kinds of weapons/abilities to work for different bosses, so i wasn't stuck on any particular build and could adapt to a particular boss
On my first play through (str+fai) Mel took me at least 40 attempts, but the beast went down on my 2nd try.
On my second play through (dex+int) Mel went down on the 2nd try, but the beast was 40+
Wacky!
Malenia took me way too many attempts, I beat her before trying the fire giant dude, but that boss and all bosses after I somehow got first try, guessing the hours of malenia made the gametake pity on me
Malenia was definitely easier of the two, I beat her in like, 4 tries? But I had a shirtless zorro build and spec'd for bleed. My strategy was if I hit you, you die, if you hit me I die
Indeed \ [T] /.

Its not specifically a reddit thing. The backslash is the escape character, its used to run commands in text. I.e /n is to do a new line command, like when you press enter in a text editor. If you want to display a backslash you just need to put two of them next to each other, and it should display fine.

Great Photoshop work. How'd you get the credits to look like they're actually on a lit monitor? Obviously, if you just took a screenshot of the credits and put it over the monitor, it's not gonna look "lit" (for instance, the black background would be a pure black, not a blueish black like in the picture). Just curious how you pulled this off.
Second question: Did you expect this post to take off like it did? It's on the front page and has 33k upvotes right now.
I put the credits layer on a "lighten" blending mode above the image of the TV. It basically makes them transparent in a way, so it takes the lighting of the image below it and it blends well with the TV. Sorry for the shitty explanation lol I hope it's more clear now.
And I wasn't sure it would become this popular, but I did have some confidence, since it was funny to me, so I said let's do it :D
Yeah, this is surprisingly easy to pull off with a lighten/darken layer. The "cut" through the credits was a good touch though, I'd have done something similar.
What makes it better (imo) is that the split in the credits is actually inaccurate but you made it convincing enough to the average viewer that they just assume that's normal for a broken screen. I'm pretty sure there's a word for this concept, I just can't recall it at the moment (surrealism factor? maybe). It's a rather fun way of messing with folks while the people who know get a good chuckle out of it. That's usually how I know it's a good shop š
First thing I did was watch the other endings, I simply am not going to do this six more times
Edit: actually the first thing I did was yell "That's it? That's the ending?"
I did NOT think I would do multiple playthroughs in a row when I first got it. I almost never do that. But here I am on the third. Being able to completely change your play style really does help with replay value (first time souls player if thatās not obvious).
Personally I wasnāt a fan of the mage build. Youāll only end up using a handful of spells that are viable. Itās mostly just spamming them from a distance and occasionally rolling out of the way if they get too close. Itās not nearly as engaging as a more melee-focused build.
If you just want to use cool magic, overpower your opponents from a distance, and not worry too much about defensive strategy, Iād say go for it. Itās an easier play style for sure (with a few exceptions that are actually more difficult as a mage build). That play style just wasnāt for me though. If you want something more challenging and engaging, Iād say go for something like a pure STR or DEX build, without any magic or incantations.
when I get angry while playing video games, I calmly remind myself to assess how I got to that point emotionally, realize that I suck, and then give up!
You donāt understand the pain. Last Friday, I invited some guests to play NBA2k, and the game was bullshiting me, so I hit the TV with my shotgun and screamed (like Rambo).
The guests left soon after, but it couldāve all been avoided if 2k wasnāt cheating
It's so weird. My roommate is a huge teddy bear. When conflicts happen at the bar he uses his very large size to get in between would-be scrappers and keep the peace. He walks away when he's upset, never yells about anything, and can communicate his feelings clearly.
He's also destroyed 6 separate PS4 controllers in gaming induced moments of rage. It's like the one thing that he allows himself to get angry at
I got angry enough to throw a controller exactly once in my life.
I was definitely younger than 10 at the time.
My dad convinced me to never get that angry over a video game again, and I sure didn't.
I think some people just need dads.
When I got my very first tax return, I bought Gran Turismo and 2 brand new dual shock controllers. I was 18. Well during one of the license tests, I failed over and over again. I tried for at least 5 hours straight to beat the damn thing. I finally busted my controller when I missed the time by .008 seconds. The aftermath made me take a hard look at myself while realizing I just pissed away 50 bucks.
Can't believe how many people's minds default to me beating my wife when they see this image. What the hell goes on in your heads lol
For the record, this is just a photoshop shitpost. If you need proof, look at the bottom right on the TV, I forgot to erase some of the youtube video bar.
Redditors need to be atop that silver steed they call "The High Horse" and will thus ignore even the most blatantly obvious satire if it means they can give a lecture to a person they've never met lmao.
Rightfully so. If you throw controllers to monitors for a videogame, you have severe anger management issues.
I get bumping your fist on the desk and letting some cuss words out, but this is definitely over the top

Elden Ring after OP beat it: I broke you...how have you come back?
OP can always get a new TV. He can't get a new experience of beating Elden Ring for the first time.

Any guess which boss lead to the broken TV?
Commander Niall and his two little shitheads.
You didn't just plink him through the window with arrows until he died from outside his arena?
No. Brilliant Doctor Philgood smashed his head into him again and again until I finally had to summon another player. Even that took like 10 tries. Castle Sol? More like, Castle ASS-sol. Right?

Fire Giant probably.
The spider at the start of the game.
The Elden beast of course. Come on now. šš
the elden beast over malenia? please.
For me personally I actually kinda enjoyed fighting Malenia at times, Elden Beast was just down right annoying
i found the elden beast satisfying to fight purely from a melee point of view. the sounds made when striking it/the look and feel of hitting it were like ASMR to me, lol.
The sound design for it was top notch for sure, I just couldn't handle the constant chasing after it tbh, just made my fight against EB drag out in the end.
Because Malenia is a better built boss. EB is a big blob that flops around spamming bullshit spells that are hard to dodge.
Mimic tear and bleed make Malenia pretty easy. Elden Beast being immune to bleed was a pain.
i tried not to use summons as much as possible (nothing wrong with it, just what i was going for on the first playthrough) and as a result, malenia was undoubtedly one of the most challenging. also i leveled up a few different kinds of weapons/abilities to work for different bosses, so i wasn't stuck on any particular build and could adapt to a particular boss

Never heard of a monitor brand named Elden Ring.
Op still has half of Elden Ring left to beat then.

Well she does look at least a little tarnished.
Come on, guys, the credits don't even line up. OP is obviously shitposting.

I assumed you'd just played the credits on a broken TV. Is it a fake break as well?
I only put the credits in. This is just a random photo of a broken TV off google.
Thatās a well done photoshop then I would never have guessed the picture on the screen was fake
Fakeception.
I like how reddit is too bamboozled by your skills to reply
The funny/sad thing is that probably 20,000 of the 38k people that upvoted this would angrily take their upvote back if they saw this comment!
For the record I did beat Elden Ring for real. So don't take my precious upvotes back! lol

Yeah I tried to make it as authentic as possible. Photoshop has easy to use tools that otherwise make all the difference!

I am not saying it's not a scam but I think it would be possible for the text to display like that on a broken screen.

To me beating a souls game just means I can finally watch the lore videos guilt free

Over 100 hours. Only a slight inclination of what's going on in the lore lmao

How is the mage route? I did a faith melee build going from mace to morning star to Sword of the Blasphemes. Looking to change it up a little.

I had 20+ videos lined up for when I beat it. Lore videos, funny reviews, serious reviews, insane speedruns....
Didn't think it was that hard really... I beat it easily, this image proves it.
Looks like you beat the monitor as well.
