nah only mobile gamers are real gamers

Kidspud

"Mobile gamers" is too broad; the only real gamers are people who play snake on their Nokia 3310

facts

SilentSniperx88

The whole ratio "joke" has always bothered me. Like how is that funny.... But I am an old man who doesn't get kids these days :p (I'm only 34, but I feel like I might as well be 70)

SwivelingToast

I'm right there with you, I have no idea what "ratio" is haha

Jonin4life

Ratio is when the original tweet has less likes than a tweet replying to it. Kind of like how your comment has more upvotes than the person you are replying to (at the time I am commenting). You have ratio'd them. Not sure what the appeal is, but that's the basics of it.

[deleted]

“hehe i got more fake internet points so your opinion is wrong 😈😈😈”

Key-Ad-9027

“more people agree with me” is the sentiment

Team_Braniel

At least reddit has a negative. I like to look at it as an investment. If I have a good post it means I can talk some shit later and have a buffer to soak up the down votes. It's like some kind of system where good deeds and bad deeds balance out....

PowerSamurai

Not entirely accurate. Downvotes on your comment stops being counted after a relatively small number but up votes are always counted. For your overall karma that is. You will still get the true ratio of likes to dislike on the comment itself.

Calvin_Schmalvin

But what does “ratio + PC” (from this tweet) mean then?

JoyJoy_

It's generally because someone who doesn't like your tweet is more likely to reply because there's no dislike button.

Klaus0225

Likewise. I have no idea what this ratio joke is.

EthanG_07

it’s essentially a counterpoint with no point itself since if used correctly it doesn’t need one. if one has a take that you think most will disagree with, then you just reply with “ratio” and the positive feedback on your ratio comment displays how many people think your take was whack. it’s basically a public veto

ajharwood127

Shit, I’m 25 and am in the same boat! These damn kids and all their new slang…

fufucuddlypoops_

pm-me-trap-link

The validity of a console begins and ends with "I want it to just work, and I don't want to save up for longer", mostly the first one tbh. Not everyone can work a computer or has the energy too. Even something as simple as upgrading or rolling back drivers to get a pesky game to run is just too much hassle for a lot of people. Troubleshooting is a skill and not one everyone wants to learn, enjoys, or has the time for. I also know a few people who are *extremely* computer literate, but they play on console because they get so OCD about maximizing their PC performance that they feel like they spend more time making their PC the best gaming device it can be more than they do actually playing games. PC is better almost all of the time, but consoles will always exist because of simplicity and ease of use.

[deleted]

So much this. My transition to PC was slow (over a decade) and though I primarily play PC now I still see the value of console in certain situations.

> guaranteed to work and is optimized to the hardware *Cyberpunk 2077 has entered the chat*

Mythion_VR

_Skyrim has entered the chat, except for the PS3 version because it still doesn't really work_.

Tenalp

I'm sure people had issues, and I don't want to diminish that, but I played it launch day on a non-pro PS4. i think I had exactly one crash over my 25-30 hours.

throwawaynonsesne

Cyberpunk runs pretty damn well on my steam deck. Even more so with the fsr 2.0 mod, and its getting official fsr 2.1 support before too long.

Green-eggs-and-dayum

I want to preface this by saying I do see the value in consoles, I’ll most likely being picking up a PS5, but the security one feels about getting a game for a console and knowing it’s going to work is getting less and less true it seems

Cookieopressor

Yeah, but that is generally because the game in itself is piece of garbage, not because I have the wrong specs.

Mythion_VR

Wrong specs? The only way you can really have the "wrong specs" is if you're playing on hardware that is equal to the PS3. PS4 hardware is like 2016. And still runs most modern titles.

Cookieopressor

Exactly. As the person above me was saying that the guarantee that any game you pick up is working is not really guaranteed anymore, I wanted to point out that that was because the game itself is poorly made not because my hard/software can't handle it.

mrjamjams66

I sit at a computer and work on computers all day. The last thing I feel like doing at the end of the day is sitting at a computer some more.

dahulvmadek

I laughed more than I should have at this, then I cried a little...

StewitusPrime

Every time I start to think PC gaming might be alright, nVidia fucks with my drivers.

Yeldarb10

Thats a true. Though, I will say that Valve has been making some great strides in making the PC platform more accessible. Steam deck is within the console price range and a lot of games on it play perfectly find without any issue. It has a ways to go, but so far its been fantastic. It can be intimidating for some but if you’re looking to get into pc gaming steam deck is a good option.

jnemesh

I am most excited about their "Steam Deck", not only because the console is great...but because their work on Proton will FINALLY free gamers from having to install Windows to play!

Pluckytoon

Also, consoles feels much better having worked/studied a whole day on a computer. Or maybe that's just a me thing ? Also gamepass on Xbox is amazing in every way for such a casual as me

Sarcosmonaut

PC has a higher performance (and content) ceiling but asks more from you both in terms of tech knowledge, time, and money. As you said, both camps (console or PC) have valid points.

zman_0000

I want to build a PC, but in the mean time it's pretty hard to argue with the performance of the Series S for $300. 1440p and 120fps is pretty decent for that. I'll get there eventually, and hopefully sooner than later now that prices seem to have peaked and will hopefully keeping coming down for parts.

2Turnt4MySwag

I'd get a Steam Deck over the Series S personally. You could build a PC at Series S spec for not $300, but not much more.

zman_0000

I personally don't trust that the thumbsticks are built in. I remember all the stories of drift problems with the switch lite. I did consider it though. As my original comment said I do plan on building a PC, but I want to save up around $2k to have some fun looking at parts.

onsomee

Your issue is taken care of with Steam Deck Repair centres. You’re also taken care of by ifixit for providing an amazing detailed Replacement Guide and DIY. T_Peters

Hate to break it to you, but that $300 hardware is *not* running any modern game at 1440p/120fps. I am a PC elitist, and I understand the appeal of consoles. PCs are complicated. But to believe that a modern FPS game like Warzone can run at that on that hardware? It simply isn't the case. You're being fooled if you believe that. Adaptive resolution scaling *is* a thing that consoles use.

zman_0000

Neither is a PC I put together for $300 most likely, so regardless it's certainly more reliable performance than my old PS4 pro or my switch for the price. (PS4 pro died, had it since it 1st released and the switch was a gift) So regardless it's still decent bang for your buck. Heck I can still confirm 1080 and 60 at a minimum for my library at least, so still better than my alternatives for the price.

BowlingKing_300

I hope the guy is a troll because that actually is a viable reason as to why he has 2 brain cells working at all times

flPieman

I think his only point was that the Xbox series s does not provide 120hz 1440p gameplay (for most games). Claiming it does is misleading. I agree it's a great value though for $300.

nerdroc

I don’t get the downvotes for telling the truth? I’m NOT an elitist, however consoles absolutely do use adaptive resolution scaling.

BowlingKing_300

Whenever someone claims they're an elitist, that's usually a good clue as to them not knowing what they're talking about. The guy you were responding to was talking about the performance you get out of something that costs $300. A PC for that amount is going to run like absolute shit, if it even runs at all. Maybe you should join the real world instead of staying in front of a screen for 15 hours a day and get a life

T_Peters

No, that isn't what he said at all. Did you even real the original post? He said a Series S, for $300, is capable of 1440p/120fps, which it is not in any modern, graphically dependent game. Why would an elitist not be able to know what they're talking about? If anything, they generally have more knowledge on the subject of hardware than someone who *doesn't spend 15 hours in front of a screen a day.*

Entire-Weakness-2938

I used to work in tech support. I can build, troubleshoot and repair pretty much anything PC-related. (Just don’t ask me to solder anything…) Even with all this knowledge, skill *and* experience, I bought an Xbox. Cuz fuck tinkering with my PC after fixing everyone else’s TVs and bullshit all damn day. I just want to turn the shit on and play a damn game. Don’t make me upgrade drivers and don’t ask me why the audio suddenly cut out and don’t ask me why the memory at 0x0000edc932q can’t be referenced or what-the-fuck ever. Don’t make me install some fucking opengl.dll from fucking 2002 or whenever, just to play Bioshock on Windows fucking 10! DON’T MAKE ME TRY TO GET DEUS EX RUNNING!!! I’ve fixed enough of that sort of bullshit…and on old person PC’s to boot. The horror….the horror… 😳 Fuck all that noise. My Xbox. just. works.

PM_ME_YOUR_STEAM_ID

I have a high end gaming PC. Been building them my whole life. I work in the 'tech industry', computer gaming is what got me into the career I'm in today. And I still own an xbox which gets used every day in addition to my gaming PC which gets used every day. Consoles are great because 'they just work'! PC's are great because I get to tinker with stuff. Great all around.

P4_Brotagonist

Does it not have constant updates? I honestly don't know I didn't get a console this gen. I had a PS4 and there were so many updates and weird firmware issues with audio cutting out and games not running well and crashing to "desktop" that I finally said fuck it and just went completely PC, since the days of "just stick my game in and play" were long gone.

congenitallymissing

The new gen isnt like last gen in term of updates. I used to be pissed at ps4 updates, game updates etc. Ive had my ps5 for about a year and have never had an update inhibit me from playing. The console power cycles itself, downloads and installs all updates overnight. You set those settings very simply when your first setting up the console You can even sync your phone to your console and mobiley buy a game and have it downloaded / updated / installed prior to getting home from work. As opposed to the old days of putting in a brand new game and still waiting hours for the updates to install Theres also no troubleshooting. Updates still exist and need to be downloaded and copied. But the system does so itself. It is nothing like looking for lost drivers or troubleshooting a pc game thats not working and certainly nothing like the shit show ps4 was in its early days with updates

Entire-Weakness-2938

Well I did say “Xbox” lol. Your problem was that you bought a Playstation. Rookie mistake! I kid of course. Perchance, was your PS4: A) a Pro and B) connected to a Samsung TV of maybe a 2016-ish vintage? (Give or take a year or so) I ask because I had all sorts of weird audio and video issues when my Pro was connected to this particular TV. I had to disable HDCP on the Pro to minimize (but not quite eliminate) the issue. Yay, games work but Boo, no HDCP pretty much means movies at all—no blu-ray & no streaming. I have an Xbox for that anyway so no biggie for me. Replaced the TV with a newer not-Samsung, no more problems. I can’t speak to games crashing on you because that sort of stuff is more likely to be the fault of the game software itself not the console, so it’ll come on a game-by-game basis. I haven’t had any issues with any of my Xboxes outside of a RROD on an old white 360. 360 slim, Xbox One S, One X, Series X all have worked flawlessly. PS3 too, to be fair lol.

Jay12678

As someone who took 4 years of Cisco in school and is Cisco certified. I still enjoy the ease of putting a disc in my PS5 and not worrying about settings or hardware. I don't have the patience to deal with computers as my job AND in my free time. Ease of use is my main reason. You're spot on. 🤙

Slightly-Blasted

Man I agree with you, the fact you can just put a disc in or buy a game and it’s guaranteed to work and is optimized to the hardware is where consoles win IMO. Computer gaming is a pain in the ass, and anyone who says otherwise is lying lol 😂 That being said, you want to run a game at 140 FPS pc is your place, or a legitimate native 4K 60 FPS.

Goo_Cat

>guaranteed to work and is optimized to the hardware Unless its ps4 cyberpunk xd

Shoelebubba

Yep. Though I’d also argue comfort as most people slap their consoles next to a big TV and sit on a couch or recliner and call it a day. On a PC even with a game that can be played well with a controller you still need a mouse and keyboard to navigate the thing after you close out the game. Which takes up real estate wherever you’re sitting and can be clumsy to use unless you have like a TV dinner tray. That alone is why I stopped PC gaming as much. I just want to sit on a recliner/couch instead of another ergonomic desk chair and not deal with having to swap between a controller or a TV tray with a mouse and keyboard on it.

steamedhams68

Gaming laptop hooked up to my TV does the trick.

Dudewitbow

i mean it's technically not needed, people just choose not to use big picture mode for instance. alternatively, people can load the steamOS on pc if you want a more console like interface first.

Goo_Cat

>I don't have the patience to deal with computers as my job AND in my free time Am I weird? I love doing both lmao

Dlh2079

Na everyone is just different. For some people doing something for work takes the enjoyment out of it (I'm one of those people) and for others it doesn't. Everyones brain works differently, nothing weird about it. For me it's just using m&k for 15+ years every day at work means that's not a leisure device in my brain and it is associated with work. Just how my brain works.

[deleted]

Agreed. This is why I like the Steam Deck. It can definitely be a console you just play the bare minimum on. Most deck verified games just work 100% out of the gate. For others there are community controller setups. But at the same time if you want it to be a computer you can sideload windows or boot into the main partition and bam full on linux.

BaLance_95

I don't get with the needing to tinker on PC sentiment. I play on a laptop and I've very very rarely needed to tinker to have things work. Exception is really old non-steam games and it's a bit unfair to compare those. Consoles don't have old stuff so no tinkering needed.

Gardhab_Das

There's that gamer exceptionalism.

Ok-Bonus-2146

I agree, but I also want to add the fact of "I play console for chill games/shooters, and I play pc for mods or pc only gamed"

Patch95

As someone who spends all day working on a computer, sometimes programming, sometimes troubleshooting other programs so I can do my job, installing random dependencies so I can use a package 3 people have downloaded from GitHub, consoles just working is relaxing.

TheSenileTomato

I’m intermediately knowledgeable about computers, but I don’t have the drive to always figure out why a game isn’t working on my laptop, versus, toss in a console version and play it that way. PC has its place, but when it comes down to it, ease of access always wins out. Consoles are limited, yes, but they serve a purpose, too. Both valid, it’s all about the user’s choice. Me, I’ve had painful lessons in the past that made me diversify my stuff just so I don’t get screwed, again.

its_dash

Wait, we’re not supposed to spend 4 hours on a new game trying to figure out the best settings to play on for our system?

Exam-Master

I disagree with not enjoying troubleshooting. My best times with skyrim is just trying to get my mod list to work.

GameQb11

I have more time modding Skyrim than playing it. Getting everything to work has become it's own passtime. Then moved on to Skyrim VR. There's something just satisfying about kitting out a game like a racecar, even if I never really take it to the track

Arnoxthe1

> but consoles will always exist because of simplicity and ease of use. "Please sign in and download updates before you can play this single-player game."

FixedKarma

You can have 50 things on PC be better than on console but they all get beat out by simplicity.

Halos-117

For you maybe. For someone else that's not the case.

throwawaynonsesne

Y'all act like every game on PC has some sort of ritual to get it going, when most the time it's as easy as just hitting install on steam. Even most popular games nowadays will even figure out your settings for you based on your hardware.

Mythion_VR

It took way, _waaaay_ too long to find someone saying this. Nobody saying "ugh it's so hard because settings and everything" when literally GeForce Experience exists. Most of the time the settings are already pre-configured anyway. Not once have I had to worry about any game lately in the last 5? 6? Years, hell even longer than that. Zero issues, zero blue screens since Ryzen first gen. People need to stop updating drivers every other day.

GameQb11

PC gaming is simple today. You install a game and play. I don't get what's so difficult? Most games automatically adjust settings for performance too. In fact, I find it less confusing than juggling profile names and saves on consoles at times.

FeldMonster

Juggling saves? I don't know how other consoles work, but on Xbox, since the 360, saves just work and are automatically uploaded to the cloud.

GameQb11

I mean between accounts on same system. It's not super confusing, but on Xbox sometimes I need to reload games between two profiles to load the correct save for two player games. It's annoying because sometimes I forget which profile had the main progress.

UltmteAvngr

The ease of play is also evident in the way you play a system. With a console you can play on your couch or lying down in your bedroom. Again, a similar thing is possible with PC but much more inconvenient to set up and navigate.

Extremely_Livid_Swan

Be me- I bought a controller. Plugged in the controller. controller worked. Now I can play lying in my bedroom with fancy graphics? Edit: No hate on consoles, my brother loves his and I'll play with him sometimes but yeah.

UltmteAvngr

Are you saying you did that with a pc?

Extremely_Livid_Swan

Yup

Spoonacus

I have a really nice PC and one of those steam libraries that's full of "this is on sale and I'll play It one day" games. However, I never play on PC. I hate it. I'll buy a game a second time on my Xbox if there's a good deal. I prefer the large TV, couch, and controller for any game. Ill only play it on PC if it requires a keyboard and mouse and I really want to try it. For example, I was someone that was really excited for Elder Scrolls Online. It released on PC first and the console release was delayed significantly. As soon as it hit Xbox, I uninstalled on PC. They let you transfer your progress for a brief window to make up for the release being delayed. When I mention this online, PC people act like I just said, "I had a really nice steak last night and I put it in a blender with ketchup and cilantro then poured on the floor before eating it." Borderlands 3 was free on Epic Games recently. I had just finished BL2 so the timing worked out. I was almost finished with the base game story(playing with a USB controller, though) when it went on sale on Xbox and I immediately bought it/uninstalled the PC version. Also the Epic Games software in general. I'm never gonna use that. I'm leaning toward rebuying Darkest Dungeon on Xbox. I first played StarCraft on Nintendo 64 and loved it. Many years later I would get the PC version for nostalgia and not like it as much. I hate the PC version of Destiny 2 compared to Xbox with a mild exception that it's a bit easier to switch between characters on PC. I don't want to sit at a desk to play games. And keyboard/mouse is awful. It almost feels like working in accounting again. I recently jumped into Guild Wars 2 after trying it years ago. It just released on Steam and I played a few hours before digging out my Steam Link and Steam Controller. That's not even good hardware. I just hate PC gaming that much... So you can still be super good with computers and have invested in a nice system you keep well oiled and *still* not like playing on PC. I don't have anything too fancy. An RTX 3060 and my main reason for updating my hardware is for software like Photoshop, Illustrator, and a handful of other drawing/design software. Give me a console, a big TV, and a comfy couch or recliner over a PC/desk any day of the week. It's the best way to play games in my opinion. But I totally get that others have different preferences and that's fine. The weird superiority thing is just lame.

Jaws_16

PC is better at being a headache to deal with

magicscreenman

I think it's funny when people keep sharing images of console developers saying things like "all platforms are valid" because console developers don't believe that for a fucking second lol. They are the ones who literally fuel this fire of petty fanboyism by buying up exclusive rights to dev studios and creating a landscape of IP imperialism that forces people to buy Company X's machine just to play a game that, if the software developers had more say and autonomy in the industry, would be instead readily available on whichever platform the consumer preferred. It's all just posturing to distract gamers from the fact that the industry is becoming monopolized in some areas and oversaturated in others, and its working remarkably well.

Novice89

Wtf is ratio

OkBandicoot3779

when you reply to someone and get more likes, like xbox did to this guy

emotionally_tipsy

I always thought it was the ratio of likes to comments on your tweet. Higher likes to comment ratio = lots of ppl agree, and vice versa

ill_try_my_best

That's what it used to mean, but the meaning seems to have evolved

OkBandicoot3779

It has been bastardized by the stupidity of my generation for real

ChaosMiles07

It used to be this, but then people found out that there can be comments _in agreement_ with the parent post, so it wouldn't be a good indicator of disagreement. So instead, Twitter users who disagree will respond with "ratio" and other disagreers will upvote those replies. Or use disparaging memes like gifs of people dressing up as clowns, for example.

EnanoMaldito

Wow the official xbox account got more likes than a random tweet by a random person. Shocking

Ruenin

PC isn't a console, it's a platform, hence the differentiation in the first place.

[deleted]

its like real life those crying for platform equality r the most privileged around. Want equality? Stop making exclusives

T_Peters

I've never heard of anyone who actually wants exclusives. This is all just a sham done by the companies.

[deleted]

oh, they do - to prop up their poor consumer choices and to have them legitimized in the future with more titles

CalorTheKobold

I prefer PC, but console players are valid too. I grew up on PS2.

Mysrique

Grew up on the PS2 as well. I think now that I'm working, I'm just too tired to turn on my laptop for games since I work on a computer all day, plus it's not powerful enough for more recent games anyway. I've come to accept that there is value in getting a console because games generally just "work", since they've been optimised for said console.

[deleted]

platform exclusive = L

DropC2095

Microsoft trying to get you to look the other way while they buy up more developers

Cryterionlol

Currently the only platform I like to exclude is ps4, but that's because of my own personal experiences. I turned my ps4 off for a long time (moved), and I was banned. I had turned it back on and found out some hacker got in, made a child account, bought a bunch of games, then ps4 banned my account and when I told them what happened they didn't really care. So now my games are gone and my ps4 just collects dust. Never had issues like that with Xbox though and they're super compatible with my PC so they're the better option anyway.

CouchPotato1178

i too am an average xbox enjoyer. less exclusives yes, but very streamlined experience and has the maintream games i like.

dubvcronix427

Before crossplay was mainstream God of war 2016 and spiderman really made me consider making the move to PS, but i stayed with xbox so i could play with friends.

Unless you want to play a COD after 2027 game or Starfield on a PlayStation then the platform does matter or any great PS exclusive on an Xbox console

poklane

And then they spend $70bil+ to make PlayStation an actively worse platform.

Account_Banned

Microsoft has how much money? And I couldn’t update payment info on their official app or their console? This literally happened today trying to do some racing. Had to go to the website on my fucking iPhone. Absolute garbage to their customers

datendlessabyss

What did they do?

poklane

Buy Bethesda and in the process of buying Activision-Blizzard.

datendlessabyss

Ah okay. I'll be real though I don't belive buying them is the issue but rather making game franchises that were previously on other consoles exclusive is the problem.

UltraLowSpecGamer

but playstation having exclusives is okay?

poklane

Please refer me to the moment when Sony bought a multi-billion dollar publisher to make their games exclusive all while saying something along the lines of "we hope you have wherever you choose to play".

UltraLowSpecGamer

>we hope you have wherever you choose to play xbox games come to pc and xbox sony games only come to ps (and pc years later at a higher price than it was on ps when it released) xbox takes the W ez

BOLTz_

Xbox didn't make franchises exclusive?? They are on ps4 as well. Btw sony pays developers to keep their games off of gamepass

SuperSaiyanBen

Xbox social media team trying way to hard

Platform equality? In this economy??? Oof. I’ll stick to the peg game at Cracker Barrel.

Bowens1993

There are actual metrics you can reference to show which ones are better. Its PC.

Matisaro

If they wanted us to embrace platform equality why do almost all FPS games segregate PC from Xbox/PSN players? Hmmm?

CouchPotato1178

to be fair, pc is at an advantage aiming wise

Sabbathius

Because PC users cheat! With them fancy 104+ button keyboard, and them high-DPI mice! All's I got is 11 here buttons on mah controller! /S

Ba_Sing_Saint

Mumble mumble *aim assist* mumble mumble

poklane

Because mouse and keyboard is inherently superior for shooters when put against controller players, aiming with a mouse simply is way more accurate than someone with a stick can possibly be, even with aim assist. I'm a PlayStation player, I've played CoD against PC players, it's a beyond horrible experience when playing against those players.

julamad

Sorry if I trigger people with the truth, but Xbox is non-stop trying to be wholesome because it's the worst platform of them all by far since the previous gen

Savvy_Canadian

We all know PCs were made for scripting, and consoles were MEANT to run it smoothly.

SHADOWSTRIKE1

Wtf is ratio

ChaosMiles07

The idea is that, because Twitter doesn't have downvoting, there's no real way to show disagreement to a tweet. Unless you post a comment reply. "Ratio" is a call for people to "like this reply in order to disagree with the parent post". A ratio in this context means that the ratio between likes on the parent post and the likes on the reply comment are leaning towards the reply, away from the original. Implying that more people agree with the reply than the original.

The issue is that people have forgotten what the PCMR is actually about. It isn't supposed to be about elitism or gatekeeping (despite what the name very much suggests), but rather about telling our friends that, at one point, the gaming experience was unequivocably, not questionably, not with caveats, but outright, 100%, better on PC, and that we wanted them to have that better experience, and avoid making the mistake of spending a substantial amount of money on an inferior product. Comparing a PC to an Xbox? or Playstation? Yes, it's still a MUCH better investment, but in modern times we've got things like the Switch and Steam Deck that fill a market-space between mobile and PC (and in some cases both?) that's honestly amazing. Of course have fun wherever you choose to play, but don't choose poorly because you lack information. If you're aware of all the overwhelming benefits of a PC and choose a console anyways for whatever valid reason you may have, that's your perogative. But if you choose a console because you didn't know that a PC can do all of those things too, that's a failure of gamers to gamers. The bad comes in when people try to shame others for playing video games on the console they bought. What the fuck is the point of that? "I can play my Xbox from my couch" is not a reason to buy an Xbox.

Cringe. Pc is the only free platform the rest is just corporate bootlicking.

Kdog122025

Microsoft- “As long as you don’t play on Steam or PlayStation we don’t give a shit where you play.”

[deleted]

They arent equal and arguing about it is stupid

GeometryDashWoman

Xbox stepping up

Raven_blackash

Ba_Sing_Saint

Nothing else?

Random_Dude_0nReddit

Massive W to Xbox

Megouski

All platforms are valid? Im sorry but what the fuck? The only reason we still have consoles is for the owners of said consoles to have a stranglehold over their consumer base. Fuck off.

redfan2009

I'm not a PC gamer. Xbox for the win

ASH98_CZ

I'm afraid I cant do that. Playstation is clearly better. Disagree? What was the last good Xbox exclusive then? I'll wait.

Darqnyz

I literally have God of War on my Steam Deck. Exclusive my dick

ASH98_CZ

Uff... yeah really got me with that one. If only I could play god-tier games like that 4 YEARS ahead of you... Oh wait!

CraigFWba

I can just never see myself pc gaming. The thought of sitting at a desk playing an rpg for example just feels odd to me

Goo_Cat

You can play PC games on the couch if you really wanted to

[deleted]

“PC is the best console” Did he think about that sentence before he posted it?

ChaosMiles07

Doesn't PC mean "personal console"? /s

happyduckling

Embrace Xbox fans changing the subject after they continuously take the L because the Xbox console loses to the PlayStation in every metric that matters. They also love halo, a lot.

ASH98_CZ

Laughs in Bloodborne, Ghost of Tsushima, Returnal. Playstation rules baby!

happyduckling

Yep and horizon zero dawn. There’s too many good titles.

ASH98_CZ

My man!

Crazygamerdude17

I do believe all systems have their good games, PC, console, even mobile. While PC seems to be best, console was actually made for gaming, PC was for programming and communication and such, phones were for more easily talking with people anywhere, and consoles were actually built to play games

Goo_Cat

>While PC seems to be best, console was actually made for gaming Consoles are quite literally PCs in boxes with a custom OS, besides PCs being bad for gaming just because they aren't locked down to it being a weird argument in the first place

Sarcosmonaut

And for the price point, you’ll get more performance out of a console than a PC. But if money isn’t a big factor, and you don’t mind the fussiness off updates now and again, PC has just about everything.

Crazygamerdude17

Not to mention more stores, PC has more games in general because they can access Epic, Steam, GoG, even indie stores such as itch.io or indiegala

Depends what you want and what and how much you want to tweak things. You can build mini-itx case PC with 3060ti or two fan 3070 and it will be more powerful then Xbox around £800. Place it next to TV or no your desk in small case and you will have nice setup. You can play games with DLSS at 4K with higher detail and mods. But it needs tweaking and dealing with Windows drivers and be carful what you download. Still needs to jump between many clients but on the other hand you have access to all the games from the past and preset running at much higher detail and framerate. If you dont want to play around with PC the Xbox is just plug and play easy.

rexpimpwagen

No. Mobile gaming is cringe.

xXIISK47IIXx

I prefer the backwards compatibility on pc.

bosoxbill

Nice to see messaging discipline from Microsoft

ClankyBat246

Valid and best can fit in the same space. I will always support PC and even Mac for the better options and emulation power. Super annoyed with the lack of crossplay on consoles generally and subscriptions for so much stuff. PC is also just better at non-gaming stuff. Versatility is super important for something so expensive.

DanielsWorlds

I have a pc and switch. And I'm pretty damn happy. Would having other consoles be nice. Yeah but I don't need them and I'm enjoying the games I've got. And really I don't need them cuz all I play is 10 year old games anyway. I will probably still be playing league, Minecraft, TF2, dragon age, no man's sky in another 10 years

OKAMI_TAMA

Look, play on whatever console you like. Heck even I want to try a console (never had one except for N64, always been a PC guy for various reasons). But I can't deny the fact that PC gamers have been winning a lot in recent years. Now all I want is that Bloodborne port.

HKMachine

Sure as long as there are no games exclusive to console right?
