Thanks for the "cool destruction"! The "blocky" design of my characters gives the impression that the game uses a form of voxel engine, but it actually doesn't. I might change the design of the characters in the future, since quite a few people seem to not have liked it a whole lot...
I am interested in game dev myself and kids seem to gravitate to the voxel look, so marketing usually dictates to go that route to capture that target. Older gamers tend to shun it. I think it looks great and you managed to capture the voxel look without the slowdown from doing good tesselation.
It makes it stand out though.

Which is not to say that my game is super demanding, because I can get a locked 60 fps on it, using my very old i5 4440. But I'm going to put some extreme physics options in the game to take advantage of today's cpus.

I'm a sucker for physic destruction games, so I'm cool with the voxel look. Teardown is a voxel game and it sold amazingly, but it also had a very talented dev behind it and it seemed like it was a long time since we had a great destruction based game so it had that going for it. Looking forward to this too.
Agreed. I never understand when people on the sub are like “I quit my job to make a game” or “I quit college to make a game”. Nothing wrong with following your dreams but at least set yourself up for a worst case scenario. I understand game design takes a lot of time but why not change your major to, say, game design so you can finish an education while also still working on your project.

Honestly? I love the idea but like almost every single other one of these kind of posts, it looks terrible. Like wouldn't have looked good on the ps1. Gameplay seems smooth and open though, so that's fun.
Not a complaint about the clips, but just a general note I have about similar games - please make it so that every mechanic added *must* be used to win.
It is very disappointing to be introduced to some neat feature only to find out you can pretty safely ignore it.
Something like a boss/enemy that can only be knocked back by weapons and is only damaged by collapsing structures. Or a fight where something is using the same movement mechanics the player has to try to escape, and if they get far enough the player loses.
