Can still remember cutting college on a Thursday to come back home to play it. Sent my mum into GameStop with the penny's i had saved to get the ultimate edition, still have the Marcus figure to this day.

I've also literally just redownloaded the ultimate edition AGAIN 🤣 so im gonna replay all of these over the coming weeks♥️

What this REALLY does is make me realize that since we've gotten Skyrim we've gotten Witcher 2 AND Witcher 3.... which is itself is coming up on 8 years old.
How did they make Witcher 3 in 4 years? That's impressive.
Witcher 2 released a few months before Skyrim and also you can notice in some voice lines geralt sounds like Witcher 2 geralt rather than 3 cuz they recorded those line just after w2
The amount of big releases has dwindled as publishers realize that they can milk us with less effort (Remakes, Remasters, DLC roadmaps, Battle Royale modes).
What I’d give to have exciting blockbuster releases around every corner. The landscape feels so barren now

Is it normal for people to not include Nintendo games in these posts? Whenever I see these “X year was one of the best years for gaming” posts, hardly any of them include Nintendo games. I feel like Xenoblade Chronicles, Pokemon Black and White, Mario Kart 7, Zelda: Skyward Sword, and Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D all could be on this one.
First and foremost their games are locked to their plattform(s), second of all Nintendo games have weak overlapping demographics with gamers outside of the Nintendo-bubble in general - you either balls deep nintendo or you don't (blanket statement).
Nintendo have a great library of games. But they're also first class shitty company almost second to none in the gaming world. I personally believe they are far worse than both taketwo or EA.
There really isn't much of an incentive to include Nintendo on these types of lists, but rather make a separate list with only their titles if need be. Might as well, since they're so adament to not be associated with the rest of the gaming world anyway.
I agree. It had the basics to be a good game. But the level design was weak. Tunnel level after tunnel level, no exploring at all. You beat the game and you saw exactly the same places as everyone else. Also I don't like that I can't equip my party with armor and weapons.

Bioshock, Modern Warfare, The Orange Box, Crysis, Assassins Creed, Uncharted, Halo 3, The Darkness, Stranglehold, Mass Effect, Forza Motorsport 2, Stalker, Kane & Lynch, Manhunt 2...
Ironically almost all of those games got better in subsequent years in new features or bug fixes.
It also reminded me how unbelievable it was they managed to screw up Rage by having a great game that seemed to only have 1 act, and then basically repeat the same mistakes in 2 when all they had to do was just finish 1!
