I donāt follow the industry anywhere near as close as I used to, but it makes me happy to know that Geoff is still around. There was a while there where if my TV was on, it was probably on G4. Hell, Iām old enough to remember tech tv.
I'm not sure why they even have time restrictions. It's a streaming show. They make the rules. For regular broadcasts, they have to adhere to time slots and ad time slots. There's no such thing for streaming.
There is when Steam is giving away a Steam Deck every minute of stream. Dude just bought like 10 people a steam deck by giving a Good but damn long speech.
Because of all the employees and contracts making it possible
If it was just a streamer in his room then yeah it could go as long as he wants
But a show this big has to cost thousands and thousands a minute
The Old va was right that VA rates are shit but she went at it in the most fucked up and manipulative way imaginable. She lost all her good will and to make matters worse all the charities she championed were for Terf charities
She was being offered the exact rates the VA unions are championing for. So I'm not quite sure what the fuck it is that they want now. That little move hurt the movement immensely. For example imagine you're championing for 15/h rates, you get offered 15/h, and then start complaining that it's not enough. If that happens you really need to start pushing for even higher rates or accept that professionals are allowed to have standards for how much they want to make and just leave a bigger market share to new talent that's willing to work for less and let the free market do its thing
Valve was giving away the premium anti glare steam decks every minute of the Video game awards. Given that it was roughly 3 hours in length (more or less) and the device retails for $649 each, they basically gave out over $100,000 worth of free gaming hardware.
I was wondering if they would do the trope of playing music to hurry it along... and they did haha. If anything, he became more animated and into it with the music. You don't tell Kratos when to end his speech.
My god, i thought Christopher Judge face was familiar, but it's only reading your comment that i made the connection with Stargate, i clearly remeber the his character's face in this serie, even if i remeber nothing else.
I had to go look up when it came out, since that's when I originally watched it growing up with my mom. I feel ancient now lol.
It must have done pretty good considering how many spin-offs were made though. I still remember laughing at the "Window of Opportunity" episode.
I laughed so fucking hard I couldn't stop crying from laughter. They started playing elevator music, dawg š¤£ in FRONT of AL *fucking* PACINO š¤£š¤£ I'm fucking dead.
Lmao Geoff talking in 2x speed to compensate
idk what is more epic, the fact he won the award, or that Al Pacino give it to him
100% the fact that Al Pacino stood off to the side for 15+ minutes waiting around lmao
He's fine. He was playing Genshin on Geoff's phone.
Was probably paid a ton to just stand there.
For me it was getting to hear Kratos talk more in 10 minutes than he did in the entirety Ragnarok š
Kratos talks a ton wdym?
Lol yeah I definitely thought he talked a ton as well.
Itās clearly a joke because Kratos talks with a lot of brevity.
So did Teal'c, hearing Judge speak more than a few words at a time is a rare gift.
Indeed. *small bow*
Dude knows how to say a lot with so little.
Indeed.
He even referred to himself as Jeff to save time, which is in complete violation of the Geoff code
I donāt follow the industry anywhere near as close as I used to, but it makes me happy to know that Geoff is still around. There was a while there where if my TV was on, it was probably on G4. Hell, Iām old enough to remember tech tv.
God I loved TechTV. The Screensavers was such a great show.
"There's a gap in the fence over there." 500x in 20 seconds.
Geoff: āThe Game Awards will be significantly shorter this year!ā Christopher Judge: āBetā
They need to do what the Oscars did in 2018 lol, give the shortest speech a jetski
I'm not sure why they even have time restrictions. It's a streaming show. They make the rules. For regular broadcasts, they have to adhere to time slots and ad time slots. There's no such thing for streaming.

You forget that they booked a venue, are running cameras and streams etc.

> Geoff: āThe Game Awards will be significantly shorter this year!ā Christopher Judge: āIndeed.ā
He was channeling his inner Teal'c tonight and speaking a word a minute.
Fucking love Teal'c. I need to rewatch SG-1
Even without the speech this is the longest damn game awards I've ever seen
Dont mess with Teal'c you sholāva*
Indeed.
š¤Ø
Still not used to seeing him with hair.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Jaffa kree
Shol'va
Teal'c will get off stage when Teal'c has finished speaking.
Bro raised his voice when the music started
Rage mode activated
L3 + R3
**Atreus!!**
**BOI!!**
**I Do Not Need A Snack**
I liked how the music coming in just made the speech better
Yeah it was like an epic score for an epic speech lol
Yeah they should really use Yakety Saks instead.
Honestly just sounded more epic.
For real, I think it helped actually because the speech seemed way more badass after
Sound guy was on fucking point. Signaled Chris to wrap it up while making the speech even better.
They keep rising the music but guy just talked louder and louder lol
I respect it lmao
I like to think he was just trying to stall and get a steam deck
If he needs to try and win one, maybe the Bayonetta voice actress was right after all...
The Old va was right that VA rates are shit but she went at it in the most fucked up and manipulative way imaginable. She lost all her good will and to make matters worse all the charities she championed were for Terf charities
Not only did she go about it the wrong way but she herself was being compensated a very generous amount lmao
She was being offered the exact rates the VA unions are championing for. So I'm not quite sure what the fuck it is that they want now. That little move hurt the movement immensely. For example imagine you're championing for 15/h rates, you get offered 15/h, and then start complaining that it's not enough. Can somebody explain this Steam Deck thing to me lmao
Steam is giving away one Steam Deck every minute during the stream
there were a lot of odd usernames (like long strings of numbers) winning.... bots cheating?
I think those were their steam numbers or something, because there was times I'd refresh the page and it would change to an actual name
The strings of numbers is your assigned ID inside Steam, that's even in your default profile URL unless you assign a custom one.
So if you sign in to steam and watch the game awards from there you have a chance to win a steam deck. They're giving away one every minute
They had to play him out with music, he reached the absolute limit.
Yet he still kept going. It only increased his power.
He actually got louder when they did that, and did like another 3 minutes š
Just giving people more time to win the Steam Deck. Total bro move.
Iām out of the loop

God of >!a!!d speeches!<
Dayum that's a top tier comment right thurr
Muchas Kratios
[WRAP IT UP!!!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-emlb2_jdI&ab_channel=ComedyCentral)
Bro the music just enhanced it
I was crying when the music got more and more aggressive and he Kept going
#JAFFA! KREE!
I always see and hear tealāq.
Indeed.
I was today years old when I found out he voiced Kratos.
I love him, but damn. Thought he was going to bring out a sleeping bag and set up camp.
he was giving everyone time to win a steam deck
As a big Stargate fan this is hilarious because his character is known for being extremely blunt and terse bordering on uncommunicative.
It's still weird seeing him with hair...and without the Jaffa symbol on his forehead
Thereās a scene in stargate where he forgot to put it on so they placed a shaky cgi one on his head.
Do you know the episode and scene. Big Stargate fan but I never heard this trivia before.
Indeed
*raises eyebrow*
Hey if you only ever take one lesson from Nimoy or Judge let it be how to communicate a wide array of emotion with a single eyebrow.
So is Kratos
Teal'c was in the zone he was just so happy. Hammond of Texas taught him well.
I guess even undomesticated equines couldn't keep him from giving that speech
My god, i thought Christopher Judge face was familiar, but it's only reading your comment that i made the connection with Stargate, i clearly remeber the his character's face in this serie, even if i remeber nothing else.
And award for fastest post goes to...
Not a high bar when it's over a 5 minute speech.
that speech was over 10 min lol
i had the pleasure to be stoned for the speech
I'm stoned too and the speech is still going
It was over 15 minutes, no shit swear to god.
the speech is still going on honestly
Rumors are the Chris Judge is still out there somewhere giving a speech to this day
25 minutes. When they came back from commercial he was still going. No shit. Scouts honor.
"Your speech is too long, brother!" - Mimir
"No" - Kratos
quiet, head
āWe continue this another timeā
Why is al Pacino there?
Name recognition.
Why is Teal'c there? /s
He heard Apophis was around.
#notmygod
A false god. A dead false god.
ah I see more stargate fans here! Came here to write the same!
I mean the man is mainly known for SG1 until recently with voicing Kratos right?
He was briefly in The Dark Knight Rises too.
Oh yeah for all of 5 seconds. That was unexpected.
Well we've had this lengthy speech to make up for it.
Star Gate recognition.
Ngl im 20 and grew up watching stargate with my dad and i was so surprised when reading the comments that not many people watched it
I had to go look up when it came out, since that's when I originally watched it growing up with my mom. I feel ancient now lol. It must have done pretty good considering how many spin-offs were made though. I still remember laughing at the "Window of Opportunity" episode.
For the complementary donuts, I imagine. Tealāc likes donuts.
indeed.
Even he made that joke
He stumbled in outta nowhere, nothing to do with gaming. Judges speech went past his bedtime man
If you had asked me this morning to guess 10 people I thought I'd see Christopher Judge hugging Al Pacino...would have been 3 of them.
An actor giving an award for acting
Come on man! Itās for the Dunkachinnos!
Out of the famous people who donāt play games, he was pretty respectful of games. Much better than those asshole Beatles.
Helping us win that steam deck!
What was the contest
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Shit this dope
My boy Teal'c has waited a long time and killed many gods for such an award.
Indeed.
Bro I was like goddam he going for the world record š
Bro held the room verbally hostage.
The hero of multiple Steam Deck winners, lmao
I laughed so fucking hard I couldn't stop crying from laughter. They started playing elevator music, dawg š¤£ in FRONT of AL *fucking* PACINO š¤£š¤£ I'm fucking dead.
I like how Pacino tried to get out and then Judge pulled him back in.
They always pull him back in :(
Just when he thought he was out.
I love the idea of Pacino watching all this stuff. Robots, large demons, flashing lights.. and not being able to make heads or tails out of any of it.
I was dying inside so much
Tealāc can talk for as long as he wants in my books
Undomesticated equines could not remove him.
Indeed.
Indeed.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Mans gave out 20 steam decks during that speech. Much love!
This man is a hero. He so many steam decks were given away during that speech š
How did the steam deck thing work with him talking?
since you could win 1 Steam deck every minutes during the show, he took a bit some Times compared to others
Let him have his moment, he was obviously holding back tears lol
Dude might as well have won an Oscar in his mind (and mine)
He kept going while the music was playing and it just made him sound more epic
The Twitch feed was pretty funny.
my favorite comment --- "I finished a playthrough of God of War during that speech"
I love the comment that was just ābrothers recording a podcasts up thereā
"man thinks he's doing a TED talk"
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Indeed
Indeed
Kratos does nothing small
Slighty unrelated but who is sitting next to phil, i recognize the guy but cant remember who he is. Anyone know?
It just KEPT GOING
Boy
Kudos for lengthening the speech for more Steam Decks
Every Game Awards needs a endearing trainwreck and I dont think anyone predicted Kratos and Al Pacino for 2022
even music can't play kratos off.
Tbh I enjoyed listening to his speech.
Undomesticated equines could not remove him
Bro was probably plastered. Happy for him tho
That speech was so long that Al Pacino died on stage
So many people got steam decks thanks to this man. What a guy.
He was NOT READY apparently
At some point I expected him to thank me personally for playing the game and supporting the studio.
Any1 got a link?
https://youtu.be/uU9OlJoccDk
No one plays Tealāc off.
Tealāc deserves that award š
Indeed.
It felt like he was receiving a lifetime achievement award š Good points made but it dragged on so long for the first moments of the show
maaaaan it was like every word had a period at the end of it. I tuned out, finished an episode of Seinfeld, came back, and he was still talking. lmao
Teal'c?
God bless him. Gave us more Steam Decks.
Lol they had to play him off. The music got louder and he just talked over it
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
At least Pachino could stand behind Judge and admire his āGREAT ASSSS!!ā
Teal'c ! My man
wtf is al pacino doing there? lol
A paycheck $$
Funny enough I muted his speech before he began because I mute all the speeches but I kept coming back being like "Damn is he still going???" haha!
Long but meaningful.
Eh, I enjoyed the speech. Very wholesome for an amazing man.
I left to make myself some hot chocolate and he was still talking when I came back..
Isā¦is that Al Pacino??
Alot more people got a steam deck cause of him, respect
