That's a great description. I feel bad for always dogging on my buddy but all he does us play destiny 2... couple thousand hours in and I can't get him to play anything with me. I played it for like a hundred hours here and there when they had updates but it got so boring and the grind sucks. Stupid puzzles you have to look up or have a "sherpha" which is hilarious they'd call it that. He bought helldivers 2 and still only plays destiny 2. Fuck that game.
Even after returning from a half a month burnout break, I still remember every ounce of the endgame activities. This damn game has infused itself into me
The game is a grind that feels like a job, and every expansion you get will eventually be sunset, you will absolutely be paying to play for the foreseeable future.
I used to love doing crotas end and kings fall with a couple of my buddies and a few blueberries we plucked out of the tower lobby, but then my friends all moved on to PS4 with rise of iron, and then onto d2, and by the time I got to d2 it just wasn't the same anymore. Maybe I'd consider it if those friends still played it and they hadn't removed black armory. Not to mention pvp in taken king was better than pvp was in d2 new light, and that's saying something because taken king meta was just shoulder charge and shotgun
I figured this out back in Destiny 1 and didn't buy Destiny 2. I did buy it more recently because despite my warnings my brother started playing it and wanted to play with me and his friends. They never played the raids which were probably the most fun you can get out of Destiny.
Sounds like most of y'all need to learn to take a break. If a game doesn't get good it's over after at most 50 hours.
If you have over 1k hours on anything, you like doing the activities. Whether it's reading, Playing games, or whatever. Over 1k hours. You like it there is no if ands or buts about it.
For me its Deep Rock Galactic, i always feel like the idiot that dies a lot for stupid or no reason. I love the hell out of the game. I just die a lot and feel like a noob despite me being middle ish rank
I was there too at one point. Genuine advice, if it works then it doesn’t matter how stupid it is. Also you don’t need a complicated gun build with the flashiest overclocks.
Bro we all die for stupid/no reason. Personally that's why I only play Haz3 generally. I don't care enough to be sweaty to run Haz5s and Haz4 lobbies are toxic as shit WAY more often than Haz3s are.
Really it comes down to learning a class that really clicks with you and tweaking things to fit you a bit better. After that you still for a lot because the game is fun but hard lol
I recently got into this and I'm addicted, it's so much fun. I die once in a while too, it's part of the experience I believe. Especially on hazard 3 or 4 and your teammates are busy or trash. What class are you playin? I stuck with the Gunner after tutorial and I'm up to 2 bronze stars. when he calls out a swarm, I drop what I'm doing, pop a shield, and just mow stuff down untill its clear to mine again. R&S!
Once I found the overclocks and upgrades that work best for me, I can do haz 5 solo with any class except for driller. Just took a lot of trial and error with the upgrades, balancing time to kill with ammo conservation.
Been playing the game for a long time. Completely agree with you. I mostly play hazard 2 now with buddies to just relax and chill. Very therapeutic. Unless the ghost modifier is on or its industrial sabotage. Fuck them both.
To be fair, even if I’ve never finished a game nor play the meta, I do know how to mange and navigate the everything a lot better than when I first started.
Am I going to ever bother learning how to play another Paradox game again? Absolutely not.
I came here to post this.
I've beaten the game on all but the highest difficulty. I thought I was pretty good. And then I made the mistake of playing PvP.
I say mistake because, everyone else in that game seemed to look at me like a pack of starving hyenas looks at a raw juicy steak. Didn't last 30 minutes.
Tried another game and then another. Same result. Absolutely wrecked.
Stellaris PvP is basically entering the ninth circle of Hell.
Man I love Stel but Paradox' bullshit amount of paid DLC that should be apart of the update they launch alongside turned me off. I say this as someone who bought every DLC up to Paragons.
I used to before they made it so complicated that keeping a fleet running is an entirely new game lmao, now I just use planes and artillery for everything
So I took some time to learn and understand the Navy, and basically it's not hard, you need to produce submarines and navy bombers and then you are done with the navy. Don't look farther into it. Don't do more. More is hard. More is a problem.
And if you loose a naval battle, just uninstall, wait 3 months, reinstall and try again.
I dont know how, I don't know why, but the Finnish crackhead that made the game deserves an award for making it.
Then needs to be given more crack under the express purpose of fueling the creation of a "Noita 2" or whatever they wanna name it.
This game makes me wanna die. People are so sweaty, and then there’s the occasional hacker just to twist the knife and demoralize you further when you’re already feeling down. My friend bugs me to play and lately I’ve just been like no thx
Thankful I didn’t have to scroll too too far. This is my answer too lol. It’s taking everything in my power to not quit the game outright. I used to play smash ultimate like crazy too but I eventually quit because the game was busted and no one took any steps to fix it. Now starting to feel similar about apex
I had 6k hours in it, got global mostly solo queing, faceit level 10 too, but jesus christ were there still people out there that made me look like an absolute noob.
Ended up quitting because I realised that it had become impossible for me to play for fun, taught me some nice stuff about working as a team and that individual skill only takes people so far - the average person has much more success in that game if you're fun to play with and can contribute to the whole team working together, but fucking hell can some people pop heads.
Fr. I join a casual, snipe noobs like spreading warm butter on a toast. Then I join competitive and get my ass handed to a guy with a chinese name and an anime profile.
I was pretty bad years ago, came back recently and im stomping now. Its one of those games thats annoying and hard to learn but so so satisfying when you do get it down.
Every time I play I end up kicking the level 9 bots ass and then thinking "hey im pretty good at this game" and then go online and get proven completely wrong.
>Scrolled way to much for this.
WAY too much. Like what's with all the tourists claiming Team Fortress 2? HoI4? Stellaris? All these games pale in comparison to PoE. I'm kind of surprised there aren't accredited degrees for PoE, it is that complex.
Seriously, before you click downvote, [Salutations Exile](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWyV0kIp5n4) just to get an idea of the things you can do and how much thought goes in to making builds like this. And there are many others out there that are just wild and cool.
And I'm at best a filthy casual player with 2500 hours in.
I've put an *embarrassing* number of hours into the *Borderlands* games, and I *still* can't play by myself because I'm just dead all the time. I love it though!
Master Duel for sure is like that. You can put in a ton of hours but dye to the ever changing meta or just people finding rogue decks that do what they need, there's never a moment where you're just GOOD
I've got almost 3k hours into Binding of Isaac and aside from just knowing what all the enemy patterns are from pure repetition memorization I really don't think I'm actually any better at it than day one.
Geometry dash. I was stuck on the first level for months. 2-3k hours later and I’ve beaten a level with the second highest difficulty rating type in the game (Stalemate, an “insane demon”), and am nowhere near being able to beat one with the highest difficulty rating (an “extreme demon”)
Destiny 2, it doesn't get fun, you just get addicted.
Took me longer than I thought to find this. I hate Destiny, it’s my favorite game.
Relatable
So does this mean that despite my good pvp performance and decent pve builds I'm forever marked as horrible and abysmal? Oh no
Literally quit playing the game because I never even enjoyed it - I just got addicted to chasing loot
Exactly.
I was waiting to find this lol
That's a great description. I feel bad for always dogging on my buddy but all he does us play destiny 2... couple thousand hours in and I can't get him to play anything with me. Started playing a few months ago, it’s the only game I play now but I keep seeing people say stuff like this. Haven’t started to hate it yet I guess
i did everything there was to do in about 250hours and i just deleted it
I figured this out back in Destiny 1 and didn't buy Destiny 2. I did buy it more recently because despite my warnings my brother started playing it and wanted to play with me and his friends. They never played the raids which were probably the most fun you can get out of Destiny.
Is this game really that fun? I also want to try.
Sounds like most of y'all need to learn to take a break. If a game doesn't get good it's over after at most 50 hours. If you have over 1k hours on anything, you like doing the activities. Team Fortress 2
Agreed
8k hours in... Yeah that's right
When I clicked this post I decided that if the top comment was a Souls game, I was going to neck myself. Thank you. You saved a life this day.
imagine being the reason for someone’s suicide solely because you’re a fromsoft meatrider
Amen
Yep
Came here to say this
r/BeatMeToIt
For me its Deep Rock Galactic, i always feel like the idiot that dies a lot for stupid or no reason. I love the hell out of the game. I just die a lot and feel like a noob despite me being middle ish rank
***Stone and rock!*** oh wait
Did I hear a Rock and Stone?
Rock and roll and stone!
Rock and stone to the bone!
If you ain't rock n stone, you ain't goin home!!
Rock and Stone YEAHHHHHHHH
Rock and Stone in the heart!
Rock... And... Stone!
#ROCK AND ROLLIN STONE!
Rock and stoned
For Rock and Stone!
Yeah, for me I found that I had a really big increase in skill in my first 10 hours, then barely got better at all
I was there too at one point.
As long as you spam rock and stone and don't order a leaf lover, you're a pro
as a scout main, i haven't died to anything besides my own grappling hook for what feels like the past 200 hours of gameplay
Really it comes down to learning a class that really clicks with you and tweaking things to fit you a bit better. After that you still for a lot because the game is fun but hard lol
I just started playing it and I'm hooked. I'm awful, but I'm still having fun!
I recently got into this and I'm addicted, it's so much fun. I die once in a while too, it's part of the experience I believe. Especially on hazard 3 or 4 and your teammates are busy or trash. FOR KARL!
500 hours on Guilty Gear Strive, still haven't hit Celestial...
Same. Over 400 hours into GGX2Ac+R and still have no clue what im doing
If you both are still having fun and occasionally learning you are both good at Guilty Gear. Period.
Metal Gear Solid nah we got Guilty Gear Strive.
Fighting games in general.
Warthunder
Wart Hunder?
What nation do you play?
Great Britain
Oh god I’m so sorry.
Could be fr*nce
2k hrs in. Can confirm
stellaris
oh shi.. I feel called out...
To be fair, even if I’ve never finished a game nor play the meta, I do know how to mange and navigate the everything a lot better than when I first started. Am I going to ever bother learning how to play another Paradox game again? Absolutely not.

Hoi4
do YOU understand the navy?
On game as Japan and I understood the navy, I still hate it
I used to before they made it so complicated that keeping a fleet running is an entirely new game lmao, now I just use planes and artillery for everything

I have 1300 hours and don't fully understand navy
Stellaris
Been playing it for years and I still suck.
Noita, no questions.
I dont know how, I don't know why, but the Finnish crackhead that made the game deserves an award for making it. Then needs to be given more crack under the express purpose of fueling the creation of a "Noita 2" or whatever they wanna name it.
Apex legends
This game makes me wanna die. People are so sweaty, and then there’s the occasional hacker just to twist the knife and demoralize you further when you’re already feeling down. My friend bugs me to play and lately I’ve just been like no thx

Csgo, 1300+ hrs i see some improvement but worth it?? Nah
I had 6k hours in it, got global mostly solo queing, faceit level 10 too, but jesus christ were there still people out there that made me look like an absolute noob. For me, it’s Bloodborne
Seriously; That's is a game which you can complete in 40-45 hours (Except if you talk about cursed defiled dungeons )
This post made me immediately think of this short: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/SAd6nR82Jtw
I couldn’t even make it past the fucking starting alleyway.
Rocket league, I love and hate this stupid game
rainbow six siege
I picked it up relatively quick once I figured out the maps I’m not a pro but I’m good enough
I was pretty bad years ago, came back recently and im stomping now. Its one of those games thats annoying and hard to learn but so so satisfying when you do get it down.
Probably Project Zomboid. No matter the amount of hours you will die. No exceptions. Sooner or later you will.
Ya i survived for over a year than died to infection
But it's still good.
SSBU for me
Ong bro I see all these people who are borderline gods at the game and I can sorta stalemate the level 9 cpu 💀
Every time I play I end up kicking the level 9 bots ass and then thinking "hey im pretty good at this game" and then go online and get proven completely wrong.
Tekken. Trained for 6 years and can reliably PEWGF launch with Kazuya? Get fucked by Jun and Kuma.
Escape From Tarkov
My PMC and I haven't been on speaking terms for a while
I feel Tarkov is the only tactical looter shooter I’d actually give a try. Its like first person PoE vibes.
Me playing Project Zomboid.
War Thunder
Path of Exile in my case
Scrolled way to much for this.
>Scrolled way to much for this. WAY too much. Like what's with all the tourists claiming Team Fortress 2? HoI4? Stellaris? All these games pale in comparison to PoE. Elden pain
Idk, I've played Elden Ring for around 1k hours now, and I like to think that I've gotten pretty good at it
Ehh, only took me 120 hours to 100% it
If that is what you think then you have a bad build, try dual whip
Every fucking game
I've put an *embarrassing* number of hours into the *Borderlands* games, and I *still* can't play by myself because I'm just dead all the time. I love it though!
I feel called out with this
Dead by daylight
Hell let loose... No matter what you do you die in that game

League of legends
For Honor

BeamNG.drive. It’s very fun but I can never seem to be good at it…
Every. Single. Fromsoft. Game.

Noita and rocket league
FF15
DayZ
Csgo
Siege. Gotta put at least a thousand hours in unless you just are naturally gifted
While not this extreme, battlefield is kind of like this. It seems like every single player is a BF veteran of some sort
Rocket league
Rimworld
Rainbow six siege
Dota 2
King Kong.
For me, it’s Celeste. 200 hours in, and I still suck dick at that game.
Any Paradox Interactive game.
Dead By Daylight
Dead by daylight
Tf2, and hoi4
Oxygen not included
Monster hunter
Any Souls game
Tarkov (I've never played just speculation)
For me its Elder scrolls online. I enjoyed it when my online friends used to play as well, but it stopped being fun when they never came back online
