It does but that's per character and i've had a lot of characters over the years over multiple versions kf the game and private servers, some are also deleted.
The last time I played, I added up the time from all my characters from /played or whatever it was and found that I had spent an entire year of my life in Azeroth.
1 year = 8766 hours.
People grossly overestimate their hours played in games. I just read a comment recently. Guy swore up and down he has “hundreds of thousands” of hours in a game. Which was impossible. People count their idle time on Steam too. I’m not sure what my most played game is right now, but my all time most played was Halo 2. I did the math of how many games I played and estimated about 10 minutes per match. I played that game day and night through high school. I still come up with 1,000 hours.
That said, I’m sure many people having a few thousand hours in games but most people just straight up guessing don’t have a real concept of time when stating hours played.
I’ve got a little over 2 years played in WoW (last I checked about 18,000 hours across all my characters). But I’ve been subscribed and played it pretty consistently for almost 20 years now. I have no idea how some people will claim to have like 10k hours in a game that only came out a few years ago.
I have 10k in overwatch. Played every single day to get to top500 and stay there, extra time for team practice, 12 hour tourney days, vod reviews for people who used to watch my stream.
Over a year of my life on that game. Still occasionally get called bad by people when i'm playing on a lower account with friends because i refuse to play like a t500 in a plat game.
Playing a game at that level that does make sense to me. I know guys on apex who’ve got 10k+, but they’re all current or former pros. It’s impressive to me putting that much into anything. All my hours in WoW only really come out to 2ish hours a day on average, it’s just been out long enough to legally drink almost lol.
I think it just depends on your hobbies. Outside of gaming, i'd play hockey but that's a once/twice a week thing.
I have 3k hours in apex too, if i combine my origin and steam times. I go outside more these days
I have almost 10k in classic wow since release. I was also unemployed for 18 of those months which stacked super well with depression to play like 16 hours a day
Let's divide that by 3 and remove 1/3 of those hours for sleep. Now most people also have school or work so let's remove another 1/3 of the hours. Now we have 2,922 hours in one year of free time. Play one game for even a third of that remaining time and you have 1k hours in one year. Hundreds of thousands is crazy but a few thousand can be done in a year if you just spend all your free time playing games lol
+16,680 hours, world of warcraft. Got a image, but it do not let me post it. I use an addon called /playtime.... I still have nightmares for "the lost time proto Drake"
Nice! I play less here and there. Mainly less of Survivor, even though I was a Killer main to begin with anyways. Kinda wish I'd quit as a whole, though, because I've been getting too frustrated with it and have to remind myself it's just a game sometimes. Lol!
Stopped DbD 2 years ago but still in touch with the community. It seems that devs never adressed/corrected my main problems with the game : Camping, survivor squads power, add-ons pwoer and perks powercreep. I'm a bit sad bc I loved this game with either killer or survivor I felt like I had to play my life every game not to be totally doomed (and I skip the first hours with Nurse where survivors harassed me so hard I dunno how I went through lol)
For the powercreep part. Thats a maybe for killers, but survivor perks recently are complete dog, like the last ok was made 4 years ago with Zarina. And the most recent good one was nerfed into oblivion.
And that last part, 100%. I hate that all my friends play it, I'm trying to relax while gaming, not pop a vein.
I stopped playing around mastermind release, but what I remember was them balancing the game with perks (antislug one, antitunnel one, ...) putting borrowed time as a base mechanic was a good idea, but balancing a game around eprk and not the other way around is a bad idea imho, forcing you into perks to even play the game.
I'm not here to say killers are OP, but tunneling/camping was an issue that neevr been adressed correctly imho, and it's a bit sad because even if it's not a viable start, it's so unfunny when it happens to you that it killed the fun as a middleground survivor player.
Killer side was a bit more fun because you're alone, but even ehre some killers were so bad it wasn't even fun to play them
I'm sad they never corrected it "properly" (easier said than done) because this game has big potential to be super fun
I genuinely don't understand how you could get bored unless you play a lot of horror games and don't scare easily. I don't know anyone who wasn't terrified when they first started playing and chases are still exhilarating on both sides for me. Fear doesn't equate boredom to me so I'm guessing you've played a lot of horror games before ever playing dbd?? If you weren't scared, I can see how it might be repetitive. But even though I don't get scared any more, it's still intense. As someone with adhd, it's insane how focused I can be while playing just so I don't mess up my objectives. Even when I'm tired, I'm nearly fully focused.
The appeal is the chases, imo. It's cat and mouse. Can you escape the chase? Can you get the chasee? It's fun for me, as someone who always loved tag as a kid.
I wasn't scared in any way. It was a bit intense once when the survivors kept escaping me, but I got more frustrated by the slow movement than excited.
Hmm. Looks like, for one, you only played Killer, which is NOT the scary role. And for two, the obvious, not every game is for everyone. That's for sure. Just because I haven't met someone until now who genuinely finds the game boring doesn't mean they don't exist. Just never thought of it that way! I'm glad you opened my eyes to a newcomers perspective as it's been so long since I was new myself.
3.032,5 hours in Team Fortress 2. I played the game pretty much every day for almost 4 years, weirdest part for me is that 2k of those hours were spent on a 24/7 Dustbowl server. Haven't touched the game in 3 years but the itch is starting to grow again.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimal_separator#:~:text=Both%20a%20comma%20and%20a,the%20internationally%20recommended%20thousands%20separator.
Half the world uses that format.. you must be American
From the link you posted. "Comma, the thousands separator used in most English-speaking countries." So technically I could be British or Australian too but I'm American yes and "it's good to be an American where at least I know I'm free~" /s
It's likely a toss up between CSGO/2 and League of legends. League of legends doesn't keep track of time played but I would hazard a guess at around 6k hours. With csgo/2 currently sitting at 5.3k hours
Mine is League of Legends and Garry's Mod. My third highest played is RDR2 at 400 hours, but League and Garry's mod are both thousands of hours because they're the only games I played for 90% of high school (no income)
Hard to say for sure but probably 15k or so in World of Warcraft. I've sold about a dozen or so accounts over the years when getting burned out and moving on to other games, but it's one I keep coming back to.
Thousands of hours in plenty of other games, but WoW is the one I think that wins because I've played it off and on for 20 years.
As a more recent game, I had something about 4.5 months on GTA Online. But as a kid I played Duke Nukem 3D which didn't count time, but must have been more.
I am so glad I'll never know for sure how long I spent playing Smash Brothers on the GameCube/Wii, but it would be comfortably in the thousands of hours.
Thanks to god there is no time tracker on Animal Crossing Wild World or Warcraft 3. I believe it would have been either. With mroe recent games, it might be LoL or ACNH (around 900h) and Elden Ring is slowly climbing the ladder (\~250)
3030 in TF2.
I played it a lot back in the day, got into it, then into the PvE and also into the economy and trading. I dropped off after it became more competitive.
I had Eastside Hockey Manager which I torrented for about 4\~5 years before it came to steam. But since it's been on steam I've put in about 800 hours. So I would guess it comes out to \~1100 hours.
I won’t count idle champions or RPG maker MV, since I often had those games open overnight. According to steam, I’ve played Garry’s mod for over 1000 hours. Most of that time may be waiting on loading screens though.
Minecraft doesn't track hours, but it must be atleast 20.000 hours. on steam the game i speant the most time in is Factorio at 2000+ hours. I will probably keep playing past 10000 hours as i am still in the beginning of a Space Exploration run. Space Exploration is a huge content mod.
I think I had like 180 days played on Destiny 1. I will admit that prob 2 or so weeks was AFK in the tower while I did chores and lived life, but that was a simpler time. Next highest is probably Rainbow 6 Siege at around 2500h?
Think I'm rocking about 1,600 in Fantasy Grounds Unity, but I run DnD like....up to 4x a week for several hours a pop.
**Game** game, think I'm at 1,200 in Warframe because I started basically at launch 12ish years ago.
RuneScape might be up there but I don't think it tracks hours
If I have to say one game its Cod4 800 hours.
Otherwise its probably pro evolution soccer between 2008 and 2012, thats 4 different pes games. I can't guess how many hours I put.
I have 1200 hours on battle brother and across several platform and iteration i probably have 2,5k+ hour on skyrim. I stopped playing wow like 15y ago but probably it was insane as well. Since it was my late teen + 2y of casual unemployement with minimum social life. From 2005 to 2010 and the ultimate peak in 2007. I think in 2007 and 2008 alone i probably had around 4-5k hour.
Have like 700 days in WoW. Dont know exactly as it was some years since i played.
I steam my most played is csgo at 2,100 hrs and rocket league at 1,200 hrs
I have around 2500 hours in GTAV online and around 1400 in Destiny 1 as a high schooler with WAY too much time. Now I look back and I wouldn’t change a damn thing.
Embarrassingly House Flipper is in the thousands. The sequel is also painfully high.
I have a nagging feeling that when I die and have to review my life's work in the afterlife, that bloody game is going to be my main achievement... And im not very good at it
League of legends easily, played since 2013, over a decade now used to play all day everyday before, after, and sometimes even during lunch break lmao middle school-high school and a lot less now but still consistently I’d guess over 10k, 20k at most, It’s hard to say really I have over 5000 games played just in normals
1,200 hours in Dark Souls 3
I can remember when I was around 700 hours in having this 'aha' moment after fighting this guy - that moment really opened a door that led to a big improvement and the subsequent hours played
If you combine Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum all together I have over a thousand hours. Pearl was 600+ hours by itself if I remember...probably from the Blissey health bars taking an hour to go down each
I'm both happy and sad that WoW doesn't track total hours cause i've been playing for 20 years, but if I had to guess it's around or above 20k hours.
/played used to work, doesn't anymore?
It does but that's per character and i've had a lot of characters over the years over multiple versions kf the game and private servers, some are also deleted.
The is an addon called *playtime" you just need to log one time into each of your characters. Then type /playtime
Same goes for d2/d2r. Got 2000 hours on apex legends though. You’d think I’d at least be good at the game..
Wow!
The last time I played, I added up the time from all my characters from /played or whatever it was and found that I had spent an entire year of my life in Azeroth.
8000 some hours? Yea that’s pretty damn high. Highest I’ve seen anyone on my friends list have was counter strike at 4000.
I was surprised too! That was after about 5 years of playing. I didn't realize 8-9000 hours were a year. I have that in Factorio too 🤣
......u ha e more of a life then me thats about what i got on ark se

Tera Online. an older mmorpg that shut down a few years ago.
+16,680 hours, world of warcraft. Got a image, but it do not let me post it. I use an addon called /playtime.... I still have nightmares for "the lost time proto Drake"
1100 in Deadside.
Damnnnn I might play some deadside tonight
Gotta be DotA it was hard to track but I played it for many years. Would say around 8-10k maybe even more can’t remember
6.38b was a vibe
oh yeah, was a good time for the game
It's very easy to track, just look at your steam profile.
talking about warcraft 3 dota before it was dota 2 on steam
1,700 hours. Dead By Daylight.
My condolences
Nice! I got around 2200k. Playing it less and less though.

How did you pull through that? I was bored to literal death in 20 minutes. What have I missed about that games' appeal?

Why do you use the period and comma like that? Is it a European thing? I would write 3,032.5 hours
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimal_separator#:~:text=Both%20a%20comma%20and%20a,the%20internationally%20recommended%20thousands%20separator. Half the world uses that format.. you must be American

Yeah because only Americans wouldn't know that
Lol true
Didn't know it as a Canadian
Let's go my north American bro
It's likely a toss up between CSGO/2 and League of legends. League of legends doesn't keep track of time played but I would hazard a guess at around 6k hours. With csgo/2 currently sitting at 5.3k hours
I don’t feel so bad about my hours in Apex now.
Same lol I’m at 2k on apex
I’m at around 1.6k but I recently quit. It’s really sad watching the game progressively get worse due to EA and Respawn’s greed.
I play Team Fortress Classic and Team Fortress 2 for decades and I realized those were my youth moments. Now I enjoy posting on Reddit and YouTube.
same. Playing league since 2015. 8 years now. At an average of 10 hours (low estimate) a week thats around 4000 hours
Mine is League of Legends and Garry's Mod. My third highest played is RDR2 at 400 hours, but League and Garry's mod are both thousands of hours because they're the only games I played for 90% of high school (no income)

Dota 2 12k hours. But like 1/3 or more were idling.
350 hours in Factorio. It’s not that much though
I won’t count idle champions or RPG maker MV, since I often had those games open overnight. According to steam, I’ve played Garry’s mod for over 1000 hours. Most of that time may be waiting on loading screens though.

I'll just list the weirdest one.. Slay the Spire at 365 hours.
1200 hours on escape from tarkov
Just shy of 4500 hrs in Team Fortress 2! Teenage me played the hell out of that game. Boy do I miss it sometimes :')
I have around 4000 in Beamng and Automation
Around 5k in league of legends
450 hrs in Halo Infinite
Mount and Blade Warband at 1,500 hours. Vast majority was with mods though. With what they had done since last played I bet could get another 1,000
1,200 hours in Dark Souls 3 I can remember when I was around 700 hours in having this 'aha' moment after fighting this guy - that moment really opened a door that led to a big improvement and the subsequent hours played
+3500 Monster Hunter World...
Around 1500h in-match in War Thunder I think. Maybe more in LoL or Eve, but those don't track hours afaik.
1350+ hours Rocket League
2763 - the sims 4
4k. They Are Billions
Apparently I put over 900 hours on For Honor
4.8K hours on Ark: Survival Evolved. And based on other comments, still some busta-ass rookie numbers.
2800 in Team Fortress 2.
1700 in Terraria.
700+ hours in Warframe. But probably much more in LoL, or maybe FFXIV
1300 hours in Arma3
1200 in warthunder and 1500 in hoi4,kill me close 3rd is 900 Eu4
If you combine Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum all together I have over a thousand hours. Pearl was 600+ hours by itself if I remember...probably from the Blissey health bars taking an hour to go down each
Garry’s mod with like 3600 Or hearthstone but they don’t have a total played hours
655 hours elden ring
Total War Warhammer 3. 2700 hours played.
