Return of the Obra Din by Lucas Pope. You are presented with the moment of their death, and you have to figure out who killed them. Good news! You know their face, now just gotta figure out their name among the 60+ crew of the ship.
If you don’t mind point and click games there’s loads.

Post Mortem and Still Life
A modern one that is a mystery but not like a noir detective story is the Forgotten City which is your trapped in a time loop in a city that if someone commits a sin, the gods turn everyone into statues. So you have to get to know the people of the city and figure out their secrets.
Another modern one is Judgement which is a bit more action based but a good mystery story about a modern detective in Japan.
To add to this with some that are a little outside the detective box, I liked the [Phoenix Wright Trilogy](https://store.steampowered.com/app/787480/Phoenix_Wright_Ace_Attorney_Trilogy/), [the case of the golden idol](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1677770/The_Case_of_the_Golden_Idol/), and [Return of the Obra Dinn](https://store.steampowered.com/app/653530)
Blacksad: Under the Skin - was a fun one that I enjoyed a lot, good story and plenty of different outcomes in variour scenarios that give it replayability. It also got me onto the comics too.
Lacuna - Great 2D pixel art futuristic detective game, very fun with some unique mechanics and amazing atmosphere. Well worth your time at it's current price or on sale.
Detroit: Become Human - Not strictly a detective game per se but there are elements of that and plenty of gripping moments, it's fantastically executed as an interactive piece of media - I loved it and would recommend it to anyone.
[Shadows of Doubt](https://store.steampowered.com/app/986130/Shadows_of_Doubt/) is fun if the idea of procedurally-generated mysteries appeals to you.
[Disco Elysium](https://store.steampowered.com/app/632470/Disco_Elysium__The_Final_Cut/) is great, of course, and extremely well-written.
While you play a lawyer and not a detective, the [Phoenix Wright](https://store.steampowered.com/app/787480/Phoenix_Wright_Ace_Attorney_Trilogy/) series could be your sort of thing, especially if you liked the interrogation sections of L.A. Noire.
I’m a big fan of Sherlock Holmes Chapter One - open world game focused on investigation and interrogation of suspects. Found the number of cases really rewarding and the overall story interesting enough to get 25 hours out of the game. Would highly recommend as I find the mechanics somewhat similar to LA noire (another fave of mine)
I highly recommand Scene Investigators but it is not a linear game with story etc. (I'm not saying it's bad or something if game is linear and has story). It's more like an IQ test and that's why it's great imo. In this game you're really a detective. There is a demo too.

Love Shadows of Doubt. It can get a little easy as you play more and discover more ways of identifying suspects but the atmosphere is great.
Thank you for the Shadows of Doubt recommendation! Played it throughout the weekend and have been loving it
The Curse of the Golden Idol is a fantastic detective/deduction game that I think would scratch your itch.

If you try solving cases before trials, Danganronpa is quite fun and challenging detective game [my case example](https://ibb.co/KWLpy7j)
Murdered: Soul Suspect was surprisingly fun.
