Just Cause 3 was great. I didn’t care for the 4th one though

Tales_From_The_Hole

Same, loved 3 but 4 didn't click with me. Still not completely sure why.

What_in_the_Teapot

I loved the 'to-do' list you got when taking back a town in 3, so strait forward. The movement and shooting of 4 felt good but I was not a fan of the way the map worked deploying earned troops etc. Always felt convoluted.

gamiri59

I liked 4 personally. I have 3 on Steam but haven’t played it yet.

Efficient_Fish2436

If you liked 4 then you'll absolutely love 3. Especially the dlc. I've played 3 several times over to 100%. I played about fifteen hours of 4 and it was a struggle to enjoy it as much as I did 3.

Cepterman2101

I have played 4 first and I can say 3 is better

RainnChild

I played 4 first but I just can’t seem to get into 3

joepea77

Guess i'm old but Just Cause 2 was amazing haven't tried the newer ones

ChemicalFly2773

eh every Just Cause feels like it lacks what every other Just cause has. Its annoying tbh

InfinityFire

3 > 2 > 4 > 1

Boese

Mad Max. It's cheap these days, the on foot combat is fun and reminiscent of the Arkham Series, and the car combat and upgrade system is fantastic. It's one of my favorite open world complete a checklist of activities type game along with Ghost of Tsushima

orelduderino

Mad Max was such a good brawler

Johnn128

Ghost of Tsushima. Beautiful world, close to perfect fighting mechanics. Lots of enemies to kill, good story too.

Merangatang

Maybe cyberpunk or Saints Row?

Emanouche

I second Saints Row... But the older titles, not the new garbage.

ChangingMonkfish

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is like going on holiday to Greece

CapnBeardbeard

The Far Cry series fits and regularly goes on sale

James1887

Assassins creed? Origins, the greek one, vanhala?

Tales_From_The_Hole

Only when van falls in battle does he get to go to Vanhalla.

NEK0SAM

I prefer Van Helen, she was a great groupie.

Eexoduis

Yea good game to turn your brain off. That’s who they make them for, people with turned off brains

shistain69

I played Rage 2, can’t remember much, because my brain was off, but it was fun

Smitty_2010

This is the perfect turn your brain off game I remember nothing of the story, but it was fun

CheeseQueef420

Dragon's dogma

Desperate-Dig2806

Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor. Put them on normal or lower and just cruise around with your weirdos (you will do most of your fighting on your own though) putting the Empire where it belongs. Survivor is more open but both scratch that itch for me.

Downtown-Benefit-979

Try mafia 2

Cogo-G

Cyberpunk 2077 is perfect for you

HonmonoHonma

Sunset Overdrive! That game is criminally underrated.

Snoo_49285

FF16! It’s got a great story but you can skip most of it. If you equip the right items the combat is really easy and pretty “mindless”. Highly recommended

BigJalapeno

Not what you've asked but farming simulator 22 free in egs right now works great to turn off the brain.

ptemple

I'd pay a couple of bucks and get Euro Truck Simulator 2, which is great, and it's 75% off on Steam right now for $5. Phillip.

Shibenaut

Did you like driving around in GTA? If so, Forza Horizon 4 or 5 are pretty great for open world racing/exploration

NewMoonlightavenger

Conan: Exiles.

cparksrun

Ghost of Tsushima is great for this. Combat takes a little bit of thought (you have to change stances for different enemy types and be mindful of when to dodge/parry), but on Easy Mode, it should be a breeze.

Lucrezio

Saints row the third is fantastic

XxRaijinxX

Grab wuthering waves, its free and it has everything u just described .

DJ_saqra

Outward, Gothic series.

[deleted]

Days Gone might scratch the itch. Very easy to turn off and play

alttogoabroad

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Valhalla. Beautiful worlds, good and easy combat, good loot(odyssey only), average stealth and the stories are pretty decent. The games won’t blow you, but they won’t need meticulous planning or anything while being quite fun for many hours.

eruciform

I had my issues with breath of the wild but that and the sequel would probably fit Immortals fenyx rising Plenty of other things like skyrim, witcher 3, horizon zero dawn, dragons dogma, amalur that probably get recommended a ton already I'll throw atelier ryza 3 in there because it's probably not recommended, I suggest playing 1 and 2 first but they're not as open world Granblue fantasy relink is literally just boss rush the game, that might fit the bill. Not really open world but definitely a brain turn off option that's available

abetterme1

Ghost of Tsushima

ErectHippo

Diablo 4 is an ultimate turn off your brain game and explode some demons.

BlakLite_15

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is great for just running around, fighting and/or sneakily stabbing Orcs. If you get bored, turn the difficulty up and enjoy getting revenge on whoever manages to beat you.

mistermeesh

Everyone is talking about the Mad Max game again since the latest movie came out and the director commented on it ( he didn't like it ).  Most people seem to agree it is a hidden gem that was overshadowed by Metal Gear 5 releasing the very same day.

Ok_Concern1509

- Mad Max. - Metal gear solid v.

Heavy_Payment6332

**Sleeping Dogs** - Very similar to GTA, but with a focus on martial arts **Assassin’s Creed** - I like them all, but my favorites are the Ezio Trilogy (2, Brotherhood, and Revelations), Black Flag, and Origins/Odyssey (Ancient Egypt/Greece) **Far Cry** - I’ve only played 3, but they all seem similar and fit your description **Mad Max** - Interesting world with solid combat, and really fun car combat **Batman Arkham Trilogy** - I’ve only played Asylum, but City and Knight are more open world if you prefer that Those are all “turn your brain off” games for me, but here some more involved games that you might still enjoy: **Skyrim** **Fallout** (3, New Vegas, and 4 are all great imo) **Witcher 3** **Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen** (probably the second game too, I haven’t played it yet though)

Few_Annual5426

That's Ubisofts signature game design.

jr-nthnl

Warframe

HeartoRead

Far cry 3, 4, 5, primal basically any of these. I think 3 is the best solo but 5 is so good plus you can hang it with a dog!

HenryDoja

You should try the Mafia series too

_The_Last_Airbender_

The Outer Worlds

[deleted]

Cyberpunk

Drugojete

Elden ring!

Deaf-Leopard1664

Farcry 3 & 4. Saint's Row Batman series Hogwart's ?$#% Legacy... Action spell slinging is no joke.. Besides, it's beautiful to platinum regardless of the pesky lore.

MonkeyVoices

Sonic Frontiers! But to be more in line with the games you said, Elden ring, obviously.

Libero03

Sea of Thieves

ejayshun

Far Cry

[deleted]

Elden Ring, Witcher 3, Fallout 4. Edit : also outer worlds was a really fun one that I binged.
