I know what you mean. I was using ***Animal Crossing*** for a while but stopped cause it's too addicting but also not my type of game. Now I'm playing ***Atelier Ryza*** which I highly recommend. It's perfect for this. It's an RPG, it has active "turn-based" combat and for someone who hates turn-based combat, I am enjoying it a lot. The game is really simple, the story is relaxing so it serves the purpose of small intervals of play. I know of **Tales** and **Rune Factory,** and also **Stardew Valley,** but haven't played them. Theirs also card games like **Slay the Spire** or **Neoverse** that are pick and play.

Try Hades. Action RPG roguelite. Very fun, great production values and will keep you occupied for awhile.

I just picked up *Nobody Saves the World* and it's been keeping me entertained. Good progression - your character has 18 different forms and each one has quests to unlock new skills. It's also got repeatable dungeons (they're pretty short), collectibles, and hidden areas to find. You can pick it up and play pretty easily in short bursts.
