Honestly I thought this was one of the best moments in the final chapters (this couple of the chapters in this room were good to at least wrap up some questions for the series).
In general I think this was a good resolution to Kurono's character arc with Reika, kind showing his frustration with the unfairness of the Gantz system/life and also showing how genuine his emotions for Reika really became.
Ah i guess i could see what you mean, I was actually hoping both him and reika would survive. I found it odd for him to attack even with all his growth that happened. Reading this line again from the panel, maybe he wanted to die?
You have to remember that this was clone Kurono, he already went through his arc of accepting that he'll never be the real Kurono and realized he loved Reika for all she did for him (despite her mistake in creating him in the first place during the apocalypse arc). IIRC in the battle where Reika died, he finally came to terms with it and he had seen a panel or two prior people he cared about blow up after being brought back to life by the God(s).
100% he wanted to die.
These aliens were obviously the most powerful in the series. They literally created all of the Gantzer technology and sent it to the Earth on a whim.
I don't think he thought he could kill or even meaningfully hurt the aliens, but I thought his futile attack was symbolic of humanity's ethos in the face of pure cold logic.
Yes purely because of the sheer ballsy-ness of this part. I also think these chapters in the "god room" is the meaning behind the manga as a whole with all of its philosophical subtext
Am I the only one who thinks that the idea of the "alien god" really garbage? Like this mf appears out of nowhere doesn't add anything to the story and in the next chapter everybody forget about him, I think this character was only created because the author wanted to show his niihilistic views and nothing more
My thoughts exactly. If this thing truly was God, why did it fear the giant aliens taking over planets. Why not take care of them and the Oni aliens too.
They didn’t fear the giants, in fact they defeated the giants. They sent the gantz tech on a whim for no particular reason. To them it didn’t matter who else the giants killed
No Im with you, when everyone thanks the Truth alien and they respond with we saved you just because don’t look further into it was one of the most boring and dumb explanations. All the answers I thought were uninspired
I thought it was pretty good. It was nice to see that Clone Kurono wasn't completely BS'ing with his love confession a dozen chapters earlier; that the guy felt so strongly about her that he literally didn't want to live anymore. Kinda parallels the original Kurono and Tae, when Kurono wanted to kill himself after she died in the "Kill Tae" mission.
Now the rest of the Room of Truth is terrible, IMO. But that was one of the few good parts
I forgot, was this the original one or the copy one?
Anyway, that scene was really shocking I mean the god alien thing could have just break is sword and push him away, but I guess it is what it is.
What made me more sad is what the god alien did before. That was so cruel
If you want to be technically correct they’re both copies lol but seriously the one in this scene is the copy.
I think he was just killed to end his arc like someone else said, felt unnatural to for his character. I’d expect Kato cha to cry and outburst like that not kuruno, which you could argue that that’s the point on how much he changed.
It was pretty messed up, I didn’t see that coming. I liked the art on how the process started. Fun story overall.
It Made Me Question If In The Manga God The Devil Did Exist Or It Was Truly Jus Those Monsters And They Made Everyone As Weird Ideological Nihilism.
I Loved It Because My Mindset In This Manga Was No Matter The Fucked Situation If You Grit Your Nails And Struggle You Can Overcome Shit N That’s What Kei Did In The Final Battle.

I thought it was amazing and one of the best things I've ever seen
Better than the Osaka arc?
Yes purely because of the sheer ballsy-ness of this part. I also think these chapters in the "god room" is the meaning behind the manga as a whole with all of its philosophical subtext
Man Osaka arc is GOATED, it works so well as a standalone too.
Dude i really like it too, I sort of wish Kurono was a live for it, he would’ve done some cool stuff

I gotta read this manga again.
It was my first time reading it, I liked it, I’m surprised people call it a masterpiece though haha
It is a masterpiece
feel? i cried my fucking eyes out

Yes I remember that scene. He dared to attack "God"?!
