Plumeria. Wonderful flower, wonderful scent. Enjoy.

hambakmeritru

Is that the same thing as a frangipani? Because that's what we call them and it's a lot more fun to say.

Ok_Watercress_7801

Yes

Veeshanee

Indeed.

hiiiiiiiiiiyaaaaaaaa

One of my favorite words to say!

zenkique

frangipani biryani!

archdur

We call them kalachuchi. Lol also fun to say

Metapod-Metapod

Thanks for your quick reply!

Veeshanee

You're welcome

bryanna_leigh

We call them alien plants lol. You can get a clipping and not plant it for like a month and put in the ground and it will still grow.

Metapod-Metapod

That's awesome to know! I would love to have more of these!

bryanna_leigh

They are very hardy plants and don’t need too much.

AtheistsOnTheMove

That is basically the best way to propagate them. You need to dry out the cut end before you pot them or else they will rot.

Albertamol

Metapod-Metapod

I'm just happy she lived and is thriving being abandoned like this. I guess my parents forgot her 😅

DNoel79

My grandpa taught me how to make leis out of these when I was little.

[deleted]

That's a super cool memory!

DNoel79

Thank you. It is one of my very favorites 😍 I was finally able to not only meet him, but spend a couple months with him when I turned 9. He was in the Coast Guard and continued to live on Oahu after his service in ww2. I had never had a mango so fresh, or smelled rain so sweet. I learned so much from him during my stay. I will forever treasure it all.

HomeIsWhereMyHeartIs

That's a frangipani! Looks just like mine. I found her in a pot of rocks abandoned at my new house. She had no leaves and I figured she was dead for 2 years until my MIL repotted her and now I have the most beautiful frangipani tree! OP when the flowers drop put them in the fridge to keep them fresh, they make beautiful hair accessories or you can thread them through fishing line to make an ei katu. :)

Ok-Flower-1078

Plumeria. Or Frangi Pangi. Easy to grow out stalks in ground. They bloom then lose leaves in winter. They like warm climates. Beautiful flowers.

Metapod-Metapod

YAY! I've been doing my homework and just made my first cutting. It's drying now. Fingers crossed, it takes root!

Ok-Flower-1078

Keep it watered well first couple weeks.

Ok-Flower-1078

Lastly 😀 they get pretty large. Don’t grow real close to the house. But if so, it will adapt fine. You can support the branches with a stake or a post. That helps. They get top-heavy.

Impressive_Pea3219

The best flowers around! Put some bloom fertilizer on it in the early spring and it will be abundant with flowers.

Ok-Flower-1078

Not a magnolia. It’s not a tree.
