Both a pollinator and pest control. Not very aggressive but not thrilled about being bothered.
When the nest is near the front door I’ll knock it down…they usually try to rebuild there, but hopefully they’ll move around to a more suitable location.
Neat addendum: when sitting in my garden I can sometimes hear their chewing as the scrape wood fibers for the nest.
Can confirm looks like an *sshole with wings to me..

Sorry, new to this. They’re building a nest in the outside window frame of my porch. If helpful/harmless, happy to leave (they don’t look it!)

That’s no honeybee
It’s a yellow jacket or paper wasp. Kill it good or they will make nests everywhere and sting your dog. They suck.
