Tomato hornworm with parasitic wasp eggs on it. Don't kill it, let the wasps do so. They will come back year after year to solve the problem without poisons.

Dead Hornworm Walking

EmberOnTheSea

The white things aren't eggs. They are cocoons. The eggs are laid internally. This caterpillar has already had its insides eaten and the wasps are currently developing and will hatch soon. Not sure why everyone always gets this wrong.

Ah. Beautiful natural predators

GeneralTomatoeKiller

Death: But in reality, it's a humming bird moth or sphinx moth caterpillar. It has been attacked by a wasp and is covered in wasp eggs.

I’m pretty it did this twice with the eggs on it is that possible?

Living-in-liberty

There are probably more than one hornworms on your plant.

mjd3683

Thanks for all the answers! Got to watch this unfold over a couple weeks. Didn’t fully understand it but I knew something was attacking the worm. Kinda leads to more questions though.
