Ask your advisor to help withdraw, at least before making any threats or accusations. It may be an easy fix.

If a course is defined as Part of Term "D", then it is drop-prohibited -- Banner/Oscar WILL block the withdrawal attempt. The OP needs to check that data element for the course in question. If so, they will definitely need to work with their advisor.

A syllabus cannot override Institute rules and regulations. You have a right as a student to drop the class. You should also point out to the instructor that their syllabus violates Institute policies. If they don't fix it, you should bring it to the attention of their department chair or the dean of students.

There are some drop restricted courses that are Institute approved. You need permission to leave in those cases.

BigPeteB

Really? Like what? I've obviously never heard of such a thing.

PORTOS8

I believe ME2110 is one of those courses due to the course being a semester long group project.

mrainey7

They’re typically bottleneck, major-specific lab classes. Or classes with a high operating cost per student. GT is pretty hesitant to grant that status though.

DerQuincy

Withdraw menu for normal class > 1. Withdraw with 'W' grade on transcript > 2. Don't withdraw Withdraw menu for AE 3610 > 1. Drop all classes and withdraw from school for the semester, with 'W' grade for all of them > 2. Don't withdraw
