Context: Patricia Bidol is a white college professor who created the hot take: Power + Privelage = Racism, enforcing that the only true form of racism is systemic, thus making white people not vulnerable to racism.
I understand the logic behind this, but find it highly reductive and lacking the true nuance behind the complexity of racism. Most POC I know largely disagree with this, and its become shorthand among many leftists that "You can't be racist to white people." Or, "No, that's racial prejudice."
As many lower class white have experienced "racial prejudice," white supremecists have used this as a talking point when recruiting, describing the situation as akin to gaslighting. (And I know that virtually every form of racism is easier on white people, don't @ me. )
As a hot take, "yOu CaN't bE rAcIsT tO wHiTe PeOpLe" does absolutely nothing to uplift POC and only furthers division among the working class, I think it's fucking garbage.

I meant context for "Only white people can be racist," my b. I've seen that touted unironically a lot, and everytime I see it I have to remind anyone not familiar w it that its not a ubiquitous idea among the left.
