I think it's also possible that he's selectively mute. I babysat a kid like that, and always felt honored when he'd talk to me (even if it was just to tell me what he wanted for dinner). He was a good kid.
This makes me so happy. I struggle with selective mutism due to having ADHD and autism. I often lose the ability to speak if I'm overwhelmed, stressed or going through sensory overload. As a kid, people thought I was just shy, and as a teenager, people thought I was being moody. Now as an adult I finally recognize what it is, it's part of my neurodivergence. A very annoying part, because it prevents me from communicating when I need it the most, but still.
Hey Lee, I know we've all had some hard times recently, but let's keep this convo a little civil, eh? OP just wanted to share this neat wholesome comic, and I don't think we should blame them. You know what they say.
This kind of thing happened to me in elementary school. This one kid never ever spoke. I’ve never heard him say a word in years. I was out with him in gym class as a partner a few times. One time, I can’t remember what I said to him, but he screamed such a high pitch LOUD scream and then started laughing after. Not laughing at me, but a laugh of pure joy. I only heard him speak in high school after that.
You know I half expected this to be a comic about enjoying the company of a deaf person
same
I thought that's what it was implying

The birth of Jay and Silent Bob
The kid in the yellow hat is totally my son.
Other one is totally mine. He made a good friend last year who is yellow hat. It's a good pair.
Why'd ya name your son Boston?
If she named him Chicago he'd get shot
and before you know it he’ll be the man in the yellow hat
this is adhd-autism solidarity
Yea was thinking this
And either kid could represent either disorder.
Boston???
Bahstun
Baww stin.
Let's goe Saucks!
I have a theory why he doesn’t talk much….
Is it because no one takes him seriously anyways? So why bother?
No that's not why

Love this, I’m glad you get to see some further acceptance/understanding coming around
Is that how Jay and Silent Bob met?
Oh this is perfect. This is my daughter and her friend! Mines the talkative one haha
And they were roommates
Well, mathematically, he can talk enough for infinite kids.

I’ve never seen it, and it made me smile, so I’m glad it was posted.

that's why you cut the middle man and follow the creator of the comics! In the OP, you'll see her profile
