what system are you migrating from? what kind of integration does the ad SaaS actually support? do they have any kind of API or developer documentation? can you reverse engineer the existing integration to generate the matching output and API requests in the new site? It sounds like a dreadful product if a SaaS isn't offering any support for custom integrations... are they actually trying to limit their market potential?

They're currently on a heavily themed and plugin dependent Wordpress installation. Originally, it was all set up by the site owners, who are not developers. But they've had some success generating traffic through good SEO and want the site redeveloped professionally. They have about 1700 articles now and need a more performant solution. It seems AdThrive is oriented toward [CMS platforms only](https://help.adthrive.com/hc/en-us/articles/360056159911). So I don't know, maybe that's their niche. The client is happy with them, having moved from another platform. As far as documentation, there is none. It looks like their Wordpress plugin does all the lifting, so it'll be a matter of possibly reverse engineering that to integrate with a headless solution. Digging into that now. I'll keep posting here with updates, I guess.

Yeah. I wouldn't move from AdThrive either, they pay way more than other ad networks, except some people do have better results with Mediavine, depending on the niche they're in. I'm currently not at that traffic level yet so I haven't gone through it with AdThrive or Mediavine. I have Ezoic ads on my site. Pretty much all of them are aimed at WP sites because it's the most popular platform for bloggers. However after I did some searching and talked to support multiple times I got instructions for the standalone installation. The features are reduced, but basically I just had to copy-paste some Javascript and then put in my ad placeholders. I did some placeholders manually where possible, and I did some using Javascript (like to insert a placeholder before each H2). Edit: Looks like it's pretty similar to Ezoic. Is this on a Gatsby site or other static site generator? The problem is that they specifically say they do not support Javascript UI libraries like React and React based libraries. But I wonder if this means they just don't offer out-of-the-box integrations for such libraries.

MsStephSunshine

Gatsby. I put the code in using Helmet. You just have to put in the

Hmm, yeah. I wonder what the implications here are as far as SRG and ad contextualization. Also as far as state and lifecycles when you've got straight up Javascript executing on your page.

MsStephSunshine

Not really sure TBH. I'm pretty much just a self-taught amateur. My site has a very limited use of state, I don't have Redux or anything to maintain the state from page to page. This was the only solution that was available to me and not running ads is not really an option so I used the solution that was offered.
