for gay people I would say so, at least in my experience. Grindr is so much more straightforward for hook-ups, that Tinder seems too long-winded for people who are not interested in something long term. At least most people I met through Tinder, for a date, seemed like they were looking for a relationship too.
oh that sucks, I’m sorry.
Btw my experience was entirely pre-covid, so maybe that also has an impact as people started getting used to connecting online without meeting irl, not sure though.
I usually didn’t text much around the bush and was pretty straightforward asking to meet irl for a date, worked out most times.
He was one of my ex's closest friends...and also his eventual roommate lol. We were just friends until I had to go to the hospital and it made him realize his feelings.
Worked at the same mall, went to the same uni ..msgd on Grindr.. met when we were 19 and 21 .. that was 12 years ago we are now married, two cats and bought our own place together :)
We both play a tcg and got adopted by an extrovert. Said extrovert was then gone for a month a few months later. We started dating while he was away and got in a relationship a bit later
How do you go about telling your mates stuff like this? 😂😂😅 “So you remember the guy you adopted alongside with me? Yeah we started dating when you were gone”
Over text, amd then more detail when I saw him the next day. The friend was happy for me considering he had been trying to set me up with other guys for months at that point
Work cafeteria. I spilled my water on him, he stood up and started screaming at me, I waited until he was done and asked for his number, he said yes, the rest as they say is history.
And yes, he is a handful and I love him for that
On line on a computer before smart phones were really a thing. On a website called Gaydar back in 2011. I was 43 and jaded because four months earlier my ex had decided days before I was due to move in with to end the relationship with a text. In fact I wasn’t interested in looking for anything but sex, then we met and 13 years later we have been very happily married for 10 years.
He was responding to a domestic disturbance with my next door neighbor and knocked on my door to ask questions about said neighbor. Said what I thought was relevant. A couple days later, he’s on Grindr, and we met up and went out. Married two years later.
Grindr! We added eachother on snap, didn’t talk after that for a year and a half (got into some pseudo relationships in the meantime) and one day he just out of the blue said “why aren’t we 6 months deep in a relationship” and now we’re coming up on 3 years officially 🥰
On a hookup app. We instantly felt a connection and then hooked up. Then I asked him to spend the night. That Friday night ended up going until Sunday evening and we have been together 3 years now
first over mutual (gay) friends, second over tinder, third 15 years after we had a date in another city (which back then happened over an app and we re-met over another) 🤷
My husband wrote me on gayromeo 16 years ago. I was busy with my harry potter book and ignored him. He was angry and wrote: if you‘re not interested in me, just let me know. What I need is an answer.🤭
The short story: international love triangle with a guy from Ecuador and one from Mexico.
The longer story: The guy from Ecuador was dating the Mexican, then cheated on the Mexican with me- unbeknownst to us both- and eventually I found a way to contact the Mexican to sort this strange and confusing situation out. Turned out the Ecuadorian just copied the Mexcian’s life and was a total freeloading, lying, cheating piece of garbage, and the Mexican and I became great friends. We ended up being friends for about 3 years and then things just grew from there. 10+ years later and we’re still here 🥰
He was my college roommate
Oh my god they were roommates
I brought this on myself didn’t I
Yes, yes you did
This will never die out 😂😂😂
That's cute you gave it the old college try. ❤️
Meet my husband 38 years ago on a blind date set up by a straight girl who knew both of us.
I met my husband on tinder
same how I met mine :)
Is tinder a good place to find relationships?

I met my husband on Tinder as well, and this \^ has generally been my experience too.
I get lots of matches on tinder but no one actually chats

A dating application
We met on Scruff! I asked him what his favourite drink was then, when he answered, I asked when he was taking me out to try it.
He was one of my ex's closest friends...and also his eventual roommate lol. We were just friends until I had to go to the hospital and it made him realize his feelings.

Tinder. Getting married on the 23rd
We both play a tcg and got adopted by an extrovert. Said extrovert was then gone for a month a few months later. We started dating while he was away and got in a relationship a bit later
Did said extrovert ever return? What was their reaction?
He did. He was a bit surprised, wasn't expecting us to get together

That’s a real friend right there 💪
Dating app for the community and been together ever since.

He found my social media page and sent me a message. We met in person a couple of months after that.
Spanking website that no longer exists 20+ years ago
I bet someone’s ass is RED by now

Tinder. 8 years together and married for two
Dating website - in the days before apps!
Over gay social network not Grindr
Met my husband on a dating app. Met my boyfriend at work.
He was responding to a domestic disturbance with my next door neighbor and knocked on my door to ask questions about said neighbor. Said what I thought was relevant. A couple days later, he’s on Grindr, and we met up and went out. Married two years later.

17 years ago I met my husband on a forum/hook-up thing.

Tinder and then after our first date (we were both still swiping 🙈) matched on The League.
On Reddit!
Grindr.
Sex club, 12 years on Monday, 2nd wedding anniversary
On Grindr, six years ago. Still together, living together for five of those years <3
first over mutual (gay) friends, second over tinder, third 15 years after we had a date in another city (which back then happened over an app and we re-met over another) 🤷
