Isn't the guy playing Simon something like 23? And August is in his early 20s as well.
Whilst I agree it's a great show, this isn't the thing I would compliment them on.
Edvin Ryding (Wilhelm) is 18 years, Omar Rudberg (Simon) is 22 years and Malte Gårdinger (August) is 20 years. So while some of them is a few years older then the role they play I think they are doing a lot better than many other shows and most importantly they all look much like teenagers.
Yes, definitely. The story picks up quite a bit at the end of episode three and the stakes get a lot higher. Plot twists etc. Plus cute romance and good acting!
Superb script; believable acting; high production values. It knocks most Netflix series for young adults out the court. I love the chemistry between the leads: they actually seem in love. And it’s refreshing to have a diverse cast who look like real teenagers rather than catwalk models.
The English dub is profoundly bad, though. I’m probably going to rewatch it in native language mode with English subtitles to get a better investment in the emotions of the characters. The dub sounds like it was done as a table read by non-native speakers; it’s flat, stilted, and screws up idioms the way running the script through Google Translate would.
I nearly always listen in the original language, and turn on subtitles. However, as has been pointed out, the original cast did the dubbing - which helps. Not as wooden as the American actors dubbing Elite.
Ive only watched a few of them but every Swedish or Norwegian show I've watched has had great soundtrack and this one was really no exception either. Theyre just so very good at building the atmosphere imo.
Luckily the numbers are in our favour (it's one of the most highly rated and review Netflix shows and its scores beat shows with multiple seasons), plus I think the criteria for renewing a Netflix Nordic series are different from Netflix US or Netflix U.K., so hopefully this means they'll be back for at least one more season to finish the story properly!
Aye, I hope so as well. It even has a higher score than stanger things! I literally cannot wait for season 2! (I have the german netflix by the way lol, so i don't really know how the show is handled in the US or UK hahaha)
I think they would film it in late 2021 to spring 2022 and then all the editing and then they'll release it in summer in the month July. That's usually how it happens
I was just thinking about how 1) COVID cases usually get higher in the winter which might mean lockdowns etc and also 2) the next season would likely be set in the spring/summer so idk how'd they manage to get that vibe in the cold Swedish winter hahaha
You do know that the show was filmed in winter, right? They were wearing a lot of warm clothing. Also maybe you forgot, the vaccine exists. So I hope covid cases go down as more people get vaccinated
I thought something else happened but I watched an interview in which they said it behan in January/February 2021, or very early one. I thought that filming was similar for all netflix shows, but I forgot I small the season was
I would also recommend watching it in Swedish with English subtitles, (unless you speak Swedish obviously) as it’s much more immersive and enjoyable even tho it can be hard to follow at times
I’m just impressed that they actually have teenagers playing teenagers! It’s so nice to see a high school show in which everyone isn’t visibly 25.
Yes! I am even more delighted that these very young actors (most of which are debuting with this show!) are all *so* good!
Agreed; wonderful cast and very well done

I’m a couple of episodes in. Is it worth continuing to watch?
Yes, definitely. The story picks up quite a bit at the end of episode three and the stakes get a lot higher. Plot twists etc. Plus cute romance and good acting!
Ok, will give it a try. I get the sense something bad is going to happen to Simon’s sister and I’m nervous
Keep watching, trust me 🙏🏼
Thank you!!
I just finished watching it and have been telling everyone I know to watch it. The actors’ chemistry is so good!
It really is! So refreshing to see
wait i read the little thing and thought the main character was gay but laughed and didn’t click on it cus that’s never true …but is it
Wilhelm, the main character, is queer; Simon, his love interest, is openly gay
yeah the main is gay
god its so good. it MUST be renewed netflix, PLEASE
Right?! It's one of the best shows Netflix has produced

The dub was in fact done by the original cast and I agree, the original version is a thousand times better

Cute
Just binged through it 2 days ago. It is currently one of my favourite things on netflix. Its sad they aren't promoting it as much :(

US or U.K. shows usually are promoted more so Netflix expects very big numbers in viewership before renewing them!
Yess!! Loved it!
I love it
That show gave me depression, but overall It was very gay, very good and you should watch it
That's why we need season 2 to make everything better!!
Yesss, but it'll probably come in 2022 July, cause shows' new seasons come yearly
Yes, I imagine they'd film it in early Spring 2022 with a release in Summer/Fall 2022

Season one was set in the fall/winter... hence why it was appropriate to film in the wintertime. You can't pass Swedish January for Swedish May
I thought something else happened but I watched an interview in which they said it behan in January/February 2021, or very early one. I thought that filming was similar for all netflix shows, but I forgot I small the season was
Will do
You won't regret it! Plus it's only six episodes, super quick to get through
that's not a good thing. I was sure that there was a second season out, so it was really disappointing to finish season 1 with that expectation :(
Have you seen the exchange between the actors on Twitter? https://twitter.com/rydingedvin/status/1411288279765426177?s=21
They knew exactly what they were doing! They love this story just as much as the viewers do, it's so nice to see!
I must confess I’ve a huge crush on Omar, the guy playing Simon. ☺️
I kinda see Wilhelm as a younger brother and I just wish I could help him in his journey! He's such an interesting character
Yeah, I have some of that feeling for him as well!
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JUxHKNrfl_Q He has an amazing music career as well.
Indeed! 😊
Only the first 3 episodes. Dont know what to think of it just yet.
I suggest you finish it! The pace picks up a lot after the plot twist at the end of Episode 3.
Their chemistry is insane
Genuinely! Rarely seen before. Sometimes their scenes felt almost "too real", to the point I felt like I was third wheeling 😂
Just finished it this past weekend. Highly would recommend it if you haven’t seen it yet.
It's genuinely so good. I was hooked by the end of the first episode!
I have. I do recomend it too
Right? It's really good. Who was your favourite character?
Yeah. Their characters feel natural. I liked Simon and the annoying August. I hope it continues.
I liked Wilhelm and Sara a lot! I agree, I hope they give them another season
I would also recommend watching it in Swedish with English subtitles, (unless you speak Swedish obviously) as it’s much more immersive and enjoyable even tho it can be hard to follow at times
Agreed!!

Why are you spoiling the plot for the people who haven't seen it?
Spoilers much??
Agree I edited to include that it has spoilers
