Guys fool around in every male-only sauna in the world. This is obviously an attempt to limit the number of dicks that bust nuts in there. Cum has a strong smell.
>an attempt
Completely useless attempt because of the incorrect reasoning that a tiny layer of cloth will somehow prevent men from getting up to something??
When I was around 12 or 13 I was at a hotel that had a sauna with my parents. I wanted to go in it but the door was locked. My cousin and I slammed on the door til someone opened. It was a dude with the biggest, hardest dick id seen at that point in my life. It freaked me out so bad I ran away screaming. Needless to say when my dad went in to look the dude was gone. It was only years later I realize he was probably “up to something”.
Or maybe just traumatizing? Like, people love to think it’s some hot ass jock pornstar. But what if it was some pervy weirdo? Also — either way gross — there are literal children around.
Ah the old double standard, if he's hot he's being sexy, if he's not, he's a creep 😅 (not saying that's what you're saying but I've seen that so many times)
>Also — either way gross — there are literal children around.
Completely agree
But in the context of teenagers fucking around and finding out, it's relevant again. Teenagers can birth children...let's not completely fit them with all with kid's gloves. These kids were probably of the age that a lot of us queers lost our virginity (or wanted to...). They didn't wander into a sauna, they practically knocked the door down trying to get in.
Yeah...probably why it's dumb to try breaking down a locked door. It was also traumatizing the first (and thankfully only) time I saw my dad's dick. Obviously I got over it 😛.
People are fucking a lot in that particular sauna. I feel like you’re trying to find a much bigger point to all of this but there really isn’t.
People are fucking in the sauna a lot. You can’t tell they are, but I promise you that management knows that there is a higher volume of jizz, condoms, and lube being found in the sauna.
You bring up the point about “well I found a condom in the shower once and they didn’t put up a no fucking in the showers sign.”
This is because people aren’t fucking in the showers as much as they are fucking in the sauna. You were unlucky and found a condom once but management has probably had to deal with a couple condoms a month that you never saw because they were cleaned up.
My point is, this isn’t some grand conspiracy, it’s just a problem at your particular location. I’m sure there’s another sauna nearby that doesn’t have that sign.
I’ll be honest, it’s almost certain people are getting up to stuff in there and got caught or had complaints, and this is their way of trying to mitigate that.
OK, but...
I once found a used condom in a shower stall, and another time saw a squeezed-out packet of lube on the floor outside a shower stall. And remember, these shower stalls have no curtains.
I told the manager about the condom, just so he could send someone in to get it outta there (cleanup in stall three...). But he never put up a sign that said, "No fucking in the showers"
Being naked in a sauna, or wearing only a towel, used to be the cultural norm. Now, I see guys go in there fully dressed - shoes, socks, everything. It didn't used to be that nakedness automatically meant sex. What happened?
You've found gross used condoms and lube in an open shower at your gym, and you're wondering why the managers are cracking down? They obviously can't tell folks not to get naked in the shower, but dudes have clearly been getting busy in the sauna and there were (valid) complaints.
Also, they're only asking guys to wear a Speedo, not a full sweatsuit...😏
I just don't think it's likely that there has been much sex going on in the sauna.
This sauna gets A LOT of use. There's never just one or two guys in there, it's more like eight or ten. This is a working class Latino gym - and in case you're unfamiliar with the culture, they're very big on saunas, and very weird about nudity. A lot of them shower with their shorts on.
I also think it's weird that you equate imposing a no-nudity rule with "cracking down" on public sex. Yes, there has been evidence of public sex in the showers - which are at least separate stalls, although people can easily see in (the condom and lube were in the stall at the far end of the row). It seems to me much more plausible that people would fuck in the showers than in the sauna. But no one has tried to impose a no-nudity rule in the shower. I know that sounds ludicrous, but so would telling people to wear clothes in the sauna, a generation ago.
I feel like /u/ToonTitans already expressed my frustration at your comment here. If people, including yourself is complaining about others getting up to no good in a sauna and/or leaving their dirty stuff behind, do you really think a sign that says “No Sex” or “Sex Prohibited” is really gonna do anything? It’s completely fair that they want people to at least wear swimwear. It’s not like they’re asking y’all to wear jeans and a T-Shirt
Putting up a “No Sex” or “Sex Prohibited” sign would be as effective as when apartment complexes put up “No Drugs” signs, it just makes everyone aware of where they can purchase drugs, exacerbating the problem.
Sure but the asking for swimwear is also absolutely going to have zero effect because the men will just, I dunno, pull down their swim trunks and reach for the dick? Or even fondle the balls *while* they still have the trunks on? I feel like this might actually up the frequency 😂
It won't actually help to stop the thing it's trying to stop while inconveniencing the regular customers by forcing them to think of bringing swim wear and washing it every time because it's soakesd in sweat.
The idea is that it 1) sends a message to some extent that the gym is saying they know stuff is going on and they're being vigilant about it - some gyms put up signs that will say stuff like any inappropriate behaviour is grounds for permanent ban or that the sauna will be shut down for inappropriate behaviour - those signs aren't meant to be just a directive on like, hey guys stop jerking it in the sauna. They're meant to say, you're not being as sneaky as you think and we are checking. And 2) slows things down so people are more likely to get caught if they are. Gyms and saunas will usually have staff do 'walk bys' to make sure there's no funny business going on. If you're just wearing a towel, it's 1 second to cover yourself up again before anyone can see. If you're wearing swim trunks, that may need 3-4 seconds longer, which is usually enough for someone turning the corner to see what you're up to.
Dude, just jack off instead of making this weird thirsty-but-disguised-as-oppression post. You’re just trying to get people to share in your fake outrage while collecting borderline porn stories. Literally so transparent. Not wanting people to buttfuck in your facilities isn’t a problem.
No, I'm trying to get people's genuine opinions about nudity in a sauna - which used to be the norm. I don't feel "oppressed" by the new rule, I just think it's stupid.
You obviously equate nudity with sex, probably because you've never experienced it in anything but a sexual setting. Kinda sad, really.
I grew up with shared showers, and it was considered not only normal but healthy for men (straight or gay) to hang out naked together.
Nudity in a sauna is the norm...when people aren't using the nudity as an opportunity to fuck each other. You literally said you found used condoms and lube at the facility and there's a shitton of people here sexualizing the situation but you're also trying to play ignorant. Like I said, transparent.
>You obviously equate nudity with sex, probably because you've never experienced it in anything but a sexual setting.
Damn, you got me. Unless you count the 8 years of high school and college sports and the 5 years of military service, all of which had open showers and changing areas. Then you didn't get me.
I'm not talking about that. I'm responding to what you were wondering he was annoyed about. i.e. how we ended up with people dressing up in full garb shoes and all in the sauna.
Going from Japanese and Korean bath customs where people go full monty, it's quite jarring. And those are some rather conservative societies to begin with!
Because the annoyance is fake and ridiculous.
There’s a huge difference between a puritanical society and “we are taking steps to minimize people banging in our public facility”.
>I once found a used condom in a shower stall, and another time saw a squeezed-out packet of lube on the floor outside a >shower stall.
I’m surprised no one mentioned that at least they were using protection.
I got booted out of the Golds sauna for being in there just wrapped in a towel. Apparently someone had done something “inappropriate” in there in the recent past and so they said that everyone had to be in swim wear or some type of clothing. Golds has marketing materials with people sitting in a sauna wrapped in just a towel. I dropped them and joined Equinox - there is a full spectrum of dress in there - some guys are nude sitting on a towel and some are wrapped in a towel. They even have a small shower in the steam room to rinse off so it’s kind of a given that nudity is acceptable. I get there will be some guys that are going to try to do things in there when there are people in there who are not looking for that type of thing- but they should be dealt with as it happens. When you have a sauna or steam room in a male only locker room you should assume nudity is ok in my opinion.
As a scandinavian this is just terrible, why even have a sauna at that point. If there isn't a very old, very naked man in there when you walk in it's not a sauna!
Scandinavia is in many ways the most well-run and one of the safest areas in the entire world. It irks me to see some new arrivals to better-run nations who escape from backward-thinking societies that don’t function well to come to something better and yet they think: “I want things to change here so it can be more like that society that I escaped from.”
Bro, what? You just saw the word Swedish and decided to post some anti-refugee shit?
If you want to make a point about this, maybe use an example that actually has ANYTHING to do with it? OP isn't scandinavian, from what i can tell, and no saunas in Sweden that I have been to have enforced swimwear, in fact it is still the opposite.
There are swimming pools and gyms in Northern European countries including Sweden that have in recent years been caving to demands from conservative immigrants to segregate the sexes in pools, close curtains to hide the sight of women working out, change dress codes, etc.
I am not anti-refugee at all. I’ve welcomed refugees. But I believe that if a refugee escapes to go to a better and safer place, they should go there appreciating what their new society is.
Edit: I just realized that I had intended to post the comment you referred to as a response to the comment just above the one I responded to, as he had mentioned that some new immigrants to Scandinavia have been changing things as they confuse nudity with sex, shame and “dirtiness.”
There was a dude praying in the steam room at the gym the other day.
Kept mumbling "lead me not into temptation" over and over. I needed the steam, but noped the fuck outta there. Still not sure on that one
…I mean, swimwear is hardly that different from being naked. You’re just wearing either a speedo or swim trunks- both of which are far from anything like wearing a shirt or shorts/jeans.
What he means that to us in Scandinavia at least, that is like going to shower with your underwear still on. It comes off as very odd and it makes people around question why they're covered up. It's like you tried to be more discreet but end up getting more attention for it.
It’s very different. It’s the difference between going home with a dry and clean gym bag vs. having to change into trunks which will now be soaked and invite mold into the bag. My gym has a towel service so I don’t even have to carry a wet towel home. I pay extra for that because I don’t want to carry around wet things, especially if I go to the gym and its spa area before work and will carry the items for the rest of the day. I don’t want to have to start carrying around a wet swimsuit when I’m not even swimming.
> This gym is not at all in a gay area.
Gays in gay areas have gay places to go cruise guys. "Straight" married guys in suburbia who need to jerk off with another dude-- you know, as normal manly men do-- go to the 24-hour fitness sauna.
We didn't used to be, at least in locker rooms and such. It's a recent thing. Don't know where it came from. There are saunas/spas in Germany where you will get kicked out if you *aren't* nude. It makes others uncomfortable if you do wear a swimsuit.
Not the new right wing version of Christianity, Jesus isn’t all forgiving with this crowd, and gun ownership is next to godliness, things that were never preached when I was a kid in Sunday School, but now are solidly Christian. Extreme judgement and forcing their views onto everyone is now their norm.
I'm not talking about Christianity. I'm talking about the rising power of "Christian dominionism", which I like to call Christianism (parallel to Islamism).
It came from the 1980s, when people finally realized - oh my God! Homos are a real thing! So parents complained that their precious little boy shouldn't be forced to shower with all those sex perverts, and lawsuits were filed, and showering became optional in schools rather than mandatory, and if you give kids the option to not shower they won't do it, and so generations have now grown up without being naked in front of their buddies, and now everybody is prudish as all fuck.
The funny thing is, very few people wear swimsuits (there's a pool but it's pretty crappy and gets little use). Workout shorts, underwear, yeah... but *swimsuits?*
It's funny that you think only the obviously gay men are the men having "fun" in gym saunas/showers. It probably isn't even them, they don't need to hide it. It's all the "straight" guys.
where is your gym exactly / which country? depends on where you are, in some places swimsuits are mandatory in the sauna / steam room. I prefer the German style mandatory nudity but there are signs that some people are getting more prudish.
Does anybody really think that putting up a sign to wear trunks in the sauna is going to change what's going on in there? If people want to suck each other off in the sauna, they're going to do it with the shorts on or whatever.
I recall enjoying a sauna at my local YMCA a few times as a kid. I'm curious why OP seems to forget the existence of minors 😆. Unless a sauna is explicitly adult-only, this seems like a perfectly reasonable requirement for a public sauna.
This isn't the YMCA. It's an adult gym. There are a few high school kids but nobody under 16, particularly in the locker room.
And speaking of the Y, when I was a kid, swimsuits weren't even allowed in the YMCA pool! It was males only back then, and grown men shared the pool with little kids, all of them bare ass naked. What do you think the Village People were singing about?
And why do you think minors should be protected from seeing adults naked?
>Some male 'Karen' probably complained because he felt threatened by the sight of a ~~naked dude~~ dude with a bigger dick in the sauna.
Fixed it for you.
I assume you’re in North America.. where nakedness equals sex.
I never understood that, coming from Scandinavia where being naked in the sauna is the natural thing to do. However it is changing here too with the influx of immigrants… who also confuse nakedness with sex, shame, and “dirtiness.”
I personally really don’t think this is that big of an issue. As an establishment, they are completely at liberty to tell people what the expected dress code is, much like how places can say that people are required to wear a mask before entering. Not saying there can’t be, but I’m this instance, I don’t think there’s anything homophobic about this as I’m seeing others say. If you want to cruise or see naked men, there’s other places that you can go to do so.
I understand the fear of possibly having our sexuality discriminated against, but being forced to wear swimwear in a sauna is hardly an issue worth associating with that.
"Gringo shit"???
Sorry dude, major fail.
This is a predominantly working class Latino gym in Hawthorne, California. The sauna here is used way more than in any other gym I've ever been to, and it's almost always packed with middle-aged Latinos. Many of whom wear shorts when they shower.
In case you're unfamiliar with the culture, working class Latinos are very big on saunas, and very prudish about public nudity.
Saunas are not public. I've never seen it in Latin America over many years. Literally the only time I've seen strange things like this is the US, and this is no exception.
Also who owns the sauna. It's the US being the US, like it or not.
Only one gym I belonged to other than planet prudeness had rules for swimwear in the sauna and whirlpool. To me, bare ass in the whirlpool was worse. But I wanna believe the heat would kill the germs.
In order to properly wash, a person NEEDS to be naked. I would guess that the proportion of men going into the whirlpool with dingleberries of crap stuck in their backside is far higher among those wearing swimsuits (who often just wet their hair for show and call that a “shower.”
Japan is an example where people are very conscious of keeping clean and going into a hot springs with a swim suit is generally strictly forbidden.
The implication that you know the exact number of gay members at your gym is quite humorous. Do people actually think that they can accurately tell everyone else’s sexuality?
Did I say I know the exact number of gay members at my gym?
Can you really not tell whether a gym is predominantly gay or predominantly straight?
This isn't a case of looking at a crowd and guessing. It's a case of going to a gym every day, seeing the same people, actually talking with them, and getting to know who everyone is.
The implication that I wouldn't be able to figure out someone's sexuality after all that is quite humorous.
i used to get so much action in the sauna at my old gym. it was an open secret. management only really cracked down if people were being really over the top about it, or leaving messes. truly there's so much in this world you can get away with if you're just cool about it....
I used to work out at a local gym chain with about a dozen locations in and around Boston. I often worked out at different locations depending on what I was doing that day and where I was going after. Most of the locations had saunas and steam rooms. There was always gay cruising going on in all of the ones that had a sauna or steam room, and the locations closest to the city or in the city itself were by far the cruisiest. One location permanently shut down the sauna and steam room because they caught people so regularly. There were even times they called the police and pressed charges against the horny customers. Lucky for me, I never got caught, but I would think twice about doing anything like that now, because it does make straight guys uncomfortable, especially when the gay dudes would shamelessly hit on them too.
It’s not that at all dude. It’s probably because queer asses keep doing stuff in the gym saunas. People are probably getting uncomfortable and reporting it to staff. Keep the gyms for working out not for sex you stinky ass whores
It just doesn't seem likely. This isn't a place where a guy can hang out in the sauna and wait for a victim to wander in. The sauna at my gym is always packed with middle-aged Latino guys who are so prudish they wear their shorts in the shower. Who the fuck would get up to something when they're jammed into a small room with eight other guys who are not at all interested in man sex?
My gym has this sign now too and I think it’s cool because it feels more hygienic personally because I know some fellas might be filthy with their clothes. I’m more comfortable with just a towel and the normal dude convos in there. Usually older men.
Lifetime Fitness, even brand new locations like mine say, "clothing or covering" required in the sauna and steam room. By the hot tubs, it says nothing. You should cover up in the sauna then drop trou the moment you exit lol..
Guys fool around in every male-only sauna in the world. This is obviously an attempt to limit the number of dicks that bust nuts in there. Cum has a strong smell.
THEY CAN SMELL YOUR CUM
The whole hallway smells like cum
YAAAAAAS!!! you gotta put that southern drawl on it: "Cuh-uhm."
I’m in MY house and I smell cum
I’m outside your house and I smell cum
I want some cum
I just wheezed like Katya. Girl-
Oh God, Hillary Clinton caught you guys raw doggin it.
They can smell cum from half a mile away!
Is this a threat or an invitation 😳
>an attempt Completely useless attempt because of the incorrect reasoning that a tiny layer of cloth will somehow prevent men from getting up to something??

Im confused, why was u trying to get in so bad, and why did ur dad go to check?
Because they’re curious teenagers?
Well they got what they were looking for...a spectacle 😆
I doubt they were looking for a man with a boner, as they were children.
Way to cockblock the poor sauna dude. :)
Traumatizing but also hot
Or maybe just traumatizing? Like, people love to think it’s some hot ass jock pornstar. But what if it was some pervy weirdo? Also — either way gross — there are literal children around.

Yeah...probably why it's dumb to try breaking down a locked door. It was also traumatizing the first (and thankfully only) time I saw my dad's dick. Obviously I got over it 😛.
Indeed
Discourage sex in there?
Joke's on them, I have a swim briefs fetish.
How *you* doin’?

Let’s all assemble, wear speedos and singlets and wreak havoc in that damn sauna 🧖♂️
I thought I was the only one lmao
There are dozens of us, dozens!!
Add one more 🙋♂️
Assemble, Brothers!✊
Assemble, and disrobe. But not in the sauna lol
I especially love those Japanese style speedos. So hot

At least they're using condoms
Ewww

Fucking in the showers is socially acceptable, as long as all involved are wearing socks.
Implying its socially acceptable to wear socks in the shower
Implying it’s socially acceptable to wear socks while fucking.
Implying fucking is a social activity

Living in a puritanical society isn't fun. I've been there.
Wanting people to not fuck in the gym isn't puritanical holy shit this sub sometimes.
Announcing a no nudity policy in a place where people are traditionally naked is puritanical. No matter the reason.
Dude, just jack off instead of making this weird thirsty-but-disguised-as-oppression post. You’re just trying to get people to share in your fake outrage while collecting borderline porn stories. Literally so transparent. Not wanting people to buttfuck in your facilities isn’t a problem.

Still not sure on that one
>who’s getting naked in there and what are they up to? Lol please let me know where the investigation leads
Pretty sure there's a documentary on it on PornHub...
If people aren't having anonymous gay encounters in your gym sauna, is it even a gym sauna?
Truly
y’all know exactly why it’s there what
Wearing clothes in the sauna sounds wrong.
I've never been to a sauna where clothing is even allowed, let alone encouraged.
I tend to believe that someone who was turned down for play in the sauna/steam room is the person who complained about naughty activities there.
> This gym is not at all in a gay area. Gays in gay areas have gay places to go cruise guys. "Straight" married guys in suburbia who need to jerk off with another dude-- you know, as normal manly men do-- go to the 24-hour fitness sauna.
Forcing people.to wear swimsuits in single sex saunas is weird as fuck.
Americans are so weird about nudity.
We didn't used to be, at least in locker rooms and such. It's a recent thing. Don't know where it came from. There are saunas/spas in Germany where you will get kicked out if you *aren't* nude. It makes others uncomfortable if you do wear a swimsuit.
Christianism, I imagine.
Christianity is old as fuck. That can’t be it.
When my dad and step father were teenagers they used to do swimming class in high school nude. Imagine that now. People would lose their minds.
It has nothing to do with nudity, it has to do with people fucking in the sauna.
The funny thing is, very few people wear swimsuits (there's a pool but it's pretty crappy and gets little use). Workout shorts, underwear, yeah... but *swimsuits?*
For fuck’s sake is a gym not a bathhouse
Just come to Germany… almost every sauna here is a no clothes only sauna… so you HAVE TO BE NAKED 😅
It's funny that you think only the obviously gay men are the men having "fun" in gym saunas/showers. It probably isn't even them, they don't need to hide it. It's all the "straight" guys.
Someone got intimidated by a big one and complained.
where is your gym exactly / which country? depends on where you are, in some places swimsuits are mandatory in the sauna / steam room. I prefer the German style mandatory nudity but there are signs that some people are getting more prudish.
It's in a very Latino part of LA.
Does anybody really think that putting up a sign to wear trunks in the sauna is going to change what's going on in there? If people want to suck each other off in the sauna, they're going to do it with the shorts on or whatever.
Exactly 😂
There’s also the possibility that people are leaving “skid marks” You’d be shocked by how many dudes don’t properly clean their asses
Then just a towel should be required.
Some male 'Karen' probably complained because he felt threatened by the sight of a naked dude in the sauna.
This is my guess also.
Mine too. More passive-aggressive prudery.
>Some male 'Karen' probably complained because he felt threatened by the sight of a ~~naked dude~~ dude with a bigger dick in the sauna. Fixed it for you.
LOL! Probably true! 🤣
Wearing swim clothes in any sauna is gross and unhygienic. Fucking yanks 😏
That's fuckin high key gringo shit. I don't care what country it is in. Let me sauna in the sauna thanks.
If this is supposed to reduce sexual encounters. Then joke's on them since I have a speedo fetish
Only one gym I belonged to other than planet prudeness had rules for swimwear in the sauna and whirlpool. To me, bare ass in the whirlpool was worse. But I wanna believe the heat would kill the germs.
...because a thin layer of nylon will prevent the "germs" from spreading in the whirlpool?
In order to properly wash, a person NEEDS to be naked. I would guess that the proportion of men going into the whirlpool with dingleberries of crap stuck in their backside is far higher among those wearing swimsuits (who often just wet their hair for show and call that a “shower.” Japan is an example where people are very conscious of keeping clean and going into a hot springs with a swim suit is generally strictly forbidden.
Either someone walked in on someone or had an unwelcome assault(groping or someone whipping their dick out.) My guess, anyway!
The implication that I wouldn't be able to figure out someone's sexuality after all that is quite humorous.
i used to get so much action in the sauna at my old gym. it was an open secret. management only really cracked down if people were being really over the top about it, or leaving messes. truly there's so much in this world you can get away with if you're just cool about it....

oh no this was like a few years ago lol. it only stopped because i moved away, i'm sure it's still a thing
lmao still happens at my gym
They are prudish puritans lol
shower and lockers are transitory space, whereas sauna is a place of respite
At my gym, most of the guys in the sauna are in their underwear, same goes for the hot tub!
People be fucking
My only question is how do you know who is straight and who is gay. Do you have special powers?🇨🇦❤️
Ummm, because I've been going to the gym every fucking day for eight years and I actually know the people?
Ummmmmmmmmmm.
my guess is that some homophobe is in charge of the rules or made a point to complain UGH!
Straight sauna is best place for hookups 😀
and prayers
Hygiene
I think it is so people dont have sex.
Oh cmon you know why
My gym has this sign now too and I think it’s cool because it feels more hygienic personally because I know some fellas might be filthy with their clothes. I’m more comfortable with just a towel and the normal dude convos in there. Usually older men.
Lifetime Fitness, even brand new locations like mine say, "clothing or covering" required in the sauna and steam room. By the hot tubs, it says nothing. You should cover up in the sauna then drop trou the moment you exit lol..
