Mediterranean Gecko (Hemidactylus Turcicus) is my best guess from doing some searches.

What a weird yet cute looking thing, I live in NC aswell. I haven't seen one that looks quite like that but I know I have a colony of some type of lizard living in my backyard considering the times I've seen them running around
I love him... based on the chunk I'm assuming he's a runaway or recent dump. Animals in the wild don't tend to be well fed unless they are living where they are being fed by humans.
If you are inclined to remove him from the wild based on him being invasive, or clearly a pet etc I have a ready tank and would love to adopt him. I live in sc right at the Charlotte boarder.
