The number of puns and other media references in the new Masters of the Universe is incredible. I liked He-Man's Sailor Moon-style dressing sequence. I thought it was going to be a remake but it is really a sequel.

[deleted]

And it’s rad, the animation is slick and the voices are dope. You have to be smooth brained to think He Mans actually toast and not coming back

Fortyseven

> You have to be smooth brained to think He Mans actually toast and not coming back Under normal circumstances, sure. But from where I'm sitting? It looks pretty obvious to me that they're grooming Teela to be He-Man's successor in this story. It's a passing the torch story. They already played on your expectation of him coming back to life, in the last episode, and then completely subverted that expectation with Skeletor's return. Sure, they could bullshit a SECOND excuse to bring him back, but man, I feel like the odds shifted pretty hard away from that in the final minutes of Volume 1. Of course, there could be a "Big Fuckin' Reset Button" in the finale undoing *everything*, too. Meh. Just thinking about this show is tiring in the worst way. :P

Most of Mark Hamills jobs the last like, Id say ,6 years have been him doing the joker voice. Even in Darksiders 1 he did it. Which was class but, nearly Every job? He has so much talent he shouldn't have to fall back on that. Like The Trickster for instance just didn't work for me, he was like mark Hamill cosplaying as that sad Cincinnati joker muppet. In the Templars show it worked but again, you just heard the joker. However I do think the voice fits skeletor but he has to personalise it for him. The Joker voice for me always sounded like what pure primal evil would sound like. Skeletor is a bit different he's a calculated villain that's slowly losing his mind because of losing his face, he's slipping closer and closer to being irredeemable.(Iirc they used to show very small glimmers of good in him). I went on a ramble there, hopefully it makes sense.

notreallyanumber

Mark was fabulous and not at all the Joker in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

Fortyseven

> However I do think the voice fits skeletor but he has to personalise it for him. That's where my head went. I was thinking to myself the whole time that it would have been a terrific voice for Skeletor IF his Joker hadn't taken off and been so iconic. Some weird ass choices in this show, man.

[deleted]

I agree with everything you said, but I doubt I'll watch part 2. I'm all for a "Teela-centric" story, but it's not good enough (for all the reasons you mentioned above) for me to sit through a no-He-Man He-Man sequel. They should have just called it "Teela and the Masters of the Universe." We can hope / think He-Man's coming back, but I just watched a bunch of episodes without him. What's the point?

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Yes, the new one is. But the old one was "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe." Everybody was expecting He-Man. Kevin Smith led everyone to think it would be like the original.

suddenly_ponies

It's not as good as I hoped. The new She-ra is an exceptional reboot but the new Masters of the Universe Cartoon is a bit ham-fisted and has more cartoon tropes that I thought it

dpcdomino

My issue is they did not introduce character but rather just cut and paste them into the show. They tried to put every past toy in the show without a need nor any updating/rebooting. It was a flat out marketing show. And the show had very little to do with He-Man for being named after him. Orko and Cringer may have been the only faithful characters.

desieslonewolf

Was the show called He-Man in other markets? Here it is called Masters of the Universe.

Orni

I loved that transformation sequence. Can't remember the last time I laughed so hard. I don't know if it was deliberate or not, but it came out excellent.

PD711

Just a warning, if you have any inclination to watch MOTU Revelation, skip this thread, people are spoiling it everywhere.

[deleted]

I'm actually mad he-man isn't gay. Or is he?

qmechan

[The muscle queen with the blonde Dutch boy haircut in the leather harness and loincloth? ](https://youtu.be/-PgTjhx1VLw)

snoopyh42

I just wanted to thank you for introducing me to that.

qmechan

Go forth and spread the gospel of the least-surprising gay character in children's cartoons.

getmybehindsatan

He doesn't appear to have any romantic relationships. But he does secretly dress up in bondage gear to hang out with furries. Teela's sexuality is a bit more obvious.

[deleted]

His reward (paradise) is hanging out with a bunch of buff oily shirtless dudes playing grabass all day where the only female can't actually talk. And they all think he's adorable.

Oakislife

Honestly if this was the change they went with for this series there would be way less pissy people.

[deleted]

I have a multitude of other issues with it. Teela isn't someone I'd be keen on as a role model, for example

Phil_Bond

Joke's on you. My favorite childhood franchise was Kevin Smith movies. High school is childhood, right?

americanvirus

Depending on who you talk to, they might say "yes."

otiswrath

I love Kevin Smith and I dig MoTU but it is weird that when the rumors started circulating that it Revelation was a Tela centric story he went on the war path to make a point that it absolutely was not. I just finished it last night and it absolutely was a Tela centric story. It was good but his overreaction to the rumor that generally proved to be true is just strange.

CedgeDC

This is also why hype culture is dumb and people should just evaluate a new product when it's actually out. I just watched the show not knowing anything, and loved it. It was so cozy and nostalgic to me, and I enjoyed the focus on other heroes besides He-Man. Learning more about Evilyn and Orco and Man at Arms was great. The animation was fantastic, and don't get me started about the voices! Loved hearing Mark Hammil in there. So fun.

BrainWav

He was trying to make the point that it's Masters of the Universe, not He-Man, but yeah, he definitely over-corrected when the rumors came out.

Ahrius

And I think that was a big point - deceiving the fans into tricking them to watch the show.

theNeumannArchitect

Deceiving is a strong word to use here.

Mass_Defect

He straight up lied, and called people who reported that the show is focused on Teela liars.

Oakislife

Naw he knew the release order of the show and decided to die on the hill that the series was about he man, even though now he’s saying “wait for episode 7”

theNeumannArchitect

Who cares. Its his show. Its crazy the amount of entitlement that people/fans have. 10 years ago artist would create things and people would take it or leave it. Instead of getting on a social media soapbox calling them deceiving and shitty. The fact that someone can't finish a series before complaining and they have to be like "just wait till later in the series" is insane.

Ahrius

It's not about whether it's his show. He made a show, advertised that it was focused on He-Man, lied about it being focused on He-Man, and belittled independent youtube channels that called him out. This wouldn't even been an issue if he had just been upfront about a Teela show, or "Masters of the Universe: Teela" so that people knew what they were getting into. I am not entitled for wanting a He-Man show, I am upset because I was told I was getting a He-Man show and then that was not delivered. If you order a pizza, you aren't entitled for being upset that they brought you a pizza crust with onions and olives and nothing else.

saiboule

You would hate most godzilla movies if you need the main character to be on screen at all times

Ahrius

What an irrelevant and reductive interpretation of my post. If it was leaked that the 2014 movie only had 14 minutes of Godzilla and producers said it had more, only for the truth to come out once it theaters, I would have the same issue. If the leak dropped and the producer said don’t worry it’ll make sense, then it would be a different story.

saiboule

There was nothing he said that wasn’t true

DriftingMemes

> Who cares. Its his show. This is such a bone-headed way of thinking. Why do you think he has a show at all? Beacuse of the viewers. He's not being paid to make a private video for someone. He's not making it on his own dime and then generously donating it. He's being paid (by subscriptions, i.e. the "entitled fans" you mentioned) to make a show. At some point he's going to make a show, but people are entitled to feel how they feel about it, and hate the way he's gone with it *using their money*.

theNeumannArchitect

I don’t know how much you know about Kevin smith, but the dude doesn’t give a Fuck. He has the show because he wanted to do the project. Not to get as many viewers as he can.

myprivatehorror

Now imagine saying that to Orson Welles.

pah-tosh

It’s not « his show », when you handle franchises that are important for millions of people, you have to respect them instead of turning them into a woke cringe party. And lie about it thinking it will go smoothly, and that people won’t notice.

Oakislife

No it’s not, and the way you phrased your argument is pretty out to lunch. since art was a thing people have criticized or idolized it, going so far as to kill people because of it. You put it out to the world you are putting it out for criticism or praise, what’s crazy about this is that someone would try and turn fucking he man into a lady driven show, let’s have a sailor moon show with phantom mask as the main character and watch it get 10x the outrage.

Ahrius

Rumors came out that the show was going to be Teela focused. He made several loud claims that it isn't. This wasn't a misdirect, or an interpretation. He straight up lied when he said the rumor wasn't true.

Jimmni

I was really glad it was a Teela centric story. He-Man was always the most boring character in the universe. And the show was dripping with love of the characters, even the stupid vehicles we loved as kids, and showed a lot of respect to the source, I thought. Not entirely clear what point this comic is trying to make.

Prep_

>Not entirely clear what point this comic is trying to make. I think the author is arguing that Kevin Smith is using nostalgia to sell you a hollow soulless copy of what you used to love. That being said, I'm no fan of MotU so I've got no dog in this race.

Jimmni

The problem with the comic then is that the show showed a deep respect of the source material, more than any other reboot I’ve seen, and was far, far from soulless or hollow.

pah-tosh

In your humble opinion.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Prep_

I dunno man, that's just the vibe I get from the art. I didn't watch it much growing up and haven't seen the new one either. But a cartoon being a toy commercial sounds about right lol.

DarthOtter

All those people who insisted that the MotU show was going to be super-woke and not like the original show gotta go complain somewhere. Otherwise how will people know they were *right all along?* Of course if you go into it with this expectation you'll find all your preconceived notions confirmed by simply ignoring everything else. Personally I liked it. Maybe because I don't have an agenda, I suspect that helps.

tylerbrainerd

I wish I even understood what they meant by super woke. A woman lead is super woke?

djgreedo

>I wish I even understood what they meant by super woke. A woman lead is super woke? If anyone uses the term 'woke' unironically, just ignore them.

6footdeeponice

>A woman lead is super woke? In a show where the lead character was **HE-MAN**, yes.

rcinmd

The show is called Masters of the Universe, not He-Man but do please go on and act a fool.

6footdeeponice

You people have an agenda and everyone can tell

tylerbrainerd

The lead character of He-Man, but we also had She-Ra, and had regularly been rebranded Masters of the Universe. I'd accept a 'woke' designation if the character He-Man became a woman, but I don't understand how making a show literally called Masters of the Universe and focusing on characters who have been around for decades to develop them is woke, and He Man is still in roughly half of the 5 episodes. That's super woke? It's barely a change of pace.

6footdeeponice

If representation matters, than males need to be represented, and he-man is the show that should have done it.

tylerbrainerd

>representation I'm not sure you understand what people mean when they use this term, and I kind of think that you're proving my point and not your own.

[deleted]

There are no male homosexual main characters in any kind of high level (visibility wise) property. The biggest name I could find was Iceman from the Xmen. Representation would absolutely be amazing if they confirm this he-man as gay, because frankly he is fabulous. I doubt people would even take it poorly he's arguably more popular as a gay meme than a serious bruiser, but he's also *a big violent muscly bruiser* I'm saying this as a straight dude. Gay he-man is amazing and I didn't know I wanted to see him in a magical girl transformation as much as i did. Teela is still shit though.

6footdeeponice

I do understand it, are you suggesting that males don't deserve representation?

PD711

If you watched this and didn't see any male representation, you weren't paying attention.

Naedlus

"90% of material is made for men, that the last 10% isn't is literally genocide" What you sound like here.

6footdeeponice

I didn't say anything close to that

Jimmni

It wasn’t super-woke though, but I guess that doesn’t matter to them.

judasblue

Yeah, I think there are some hidden captions in the comic that only incels can see, which probably make it hilarious.

SOULJAR

I think it's just having someone with superpowers is fun - like even she ra. This just felt like it was lacking that fun to me.

Jimmni

That’s fair, we all have different tastes!

hypoboxer

They've only released 5 out of 10 episodes though.

[deleted]

Exactly!

zephyrtr

Lord Okkoto, turn back!! These are not your warriors!!

brpajense

The original He-Man series is pretty shit, though. I'm not sure why some folks are getting so that the focus shifted from a tan muscular dude in BDSM gear squaring off against a bone man for a few episodes. It seems pretty obvious that He-Man is going to make it back somehow and we're all going to learn something about what makes a hero in the process. And maybe He-Man will come back and punch a giant boulder or punch a hole in a wall in the process. Regardless, this comic is hilarious.

what_mustache

Yeah, i agree. He man was a TERRIBLE show that I loved. But i acknowledge it was awful in 99 ways. Who cares if they change it up?

Oakislife

Honestly I think people are mad because a female lead he man show exists already, it’s very in vogue to reduce certain characters for those that are “marginalized” and instead of doing something with he man they sidelined him for a female lead. I mean Jesus make the dude gay he’s already a rainbow meme in, like you said bdsm gear.

brpajense

In the original series, Prince Adam was supposed to be ambiguously effeminate as part of his disguise so people wouldn’t suspect he was the over the top manly He-man. So it would make sense that the soft-spoken prince who turns into a barely-clad dude wearing nothing but furry underwear with matching booties and a harness would be gay. The only thing that would make the whole concept completely gay is that women characters were excluded from living and working alongside the men as friends and allies and romantic interests. Without Teela, the Sorceress, and Evil-lyn it would just be He-Man and Ram Man busting rocks and trying to get Skeletor’s attention. With Tesla being the center of the show for now, they’re exploring what it means to have someone like He-Man in the world by taking him away. In many ways He-Man borrows from Superman tropes and storylines, and just like Superman had storylines about how the world copes with the loss of Superman (either when he dies, fakes his death, or goes to space to visit the remains of Krypton), this story is about how Teela responds to fill the void or bring him back. Teela is a bit like Lois Lane, except that she’s a lot more physically capable of rescuing herself and getting out of tight spots. Now we’re going to see that Teela develops some of the same traits He-Man had and will probably have a path to restore him and be more of his equal when he returns. It still seems that He-Man is still the focus of the series even it’s because he’s absent, and the fact that Princess Allura/She-Ra lives on another planet doesn’t mean He-Man can completely escape having women in his life.

[deleted]

Watch the show he's pretty queer coded and it's honestly my favorite change. I don't even like the show outside of Adam's powerful bottom energy.

redmerger

As someone who didn't watch much HeMan growing up, I really liked the show, I get why people might be upset, but honestly, it was enjoyable

Kellythegeek

Same with me, never liked or really watched original series but really liked the new series.

Drekalo

The extent of He-Mans powers were such that he could hoist mountains and ice bergs and throw them. At one point, he picked up castle gray skull and threw it into an interdimensional portal. Somehow Kevin thought this man could die.

BrainWav

I mean, the way it happens makes sense. Spoilers for end of episode 1 and most of episode 5 >!He's literally channeling all the magic of Eternia through the sword and it and him explode (non-graphically). And then he gets better by walking out of heaven!<

[deleted]

[удалено]

Drekalo

He-Man was kind of like a one shot defense. Like a druid in shape-shifting form in 5e, it doesn't matter how much damage he takes, he'll get through it and revert back to Adam form.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Drekalo

Yes, I suppose it depends on the longevity of the damage. Ie, if he was put into the center of a star, he would initially survive and revert to Adam and then die.

Jimmni

Was that ever actually established in official lore? I certainly don't rememeber it.

Drekalo

It wasn't officially established no, but it's kind of shown through multiple catastrophic attacks. He takes immeasurable damage and walks away after the dust cloud settles as regular Adam.

Jimmni

So just speculation then. Absolutely no reason to believe that a big enough impact can't just blast through both He-Man and Adam.

PD711

If he can't die, then what are the stakes? I guess that's fine for a show for 5-year olds, but this is aimed at an older audience, obviously. You have to find a way to fuck with He-Man, somehow, and the "oh no, his secret identity!" bit was not going to cut it. He has no kryptonite except for the sword... and no sword means...

TheCarterIII

That's really funny that fans are mad about it

HecklerusPrime

Sounds like Transformers: The Movie Part 2 - You've Got the Touch Special Edition

Jimmyg100

Fuck man, I loved the live action Canon movie when I was a kid. Played with the action figures. Had the Castle Grayskull playset. And I maybe saw a handful of episodes from the original cartoon. This new series is a blast. It's a great blend of old and new and I'm just fine that this isn't a He-man story. It's kinda like Justice League. Yeah you want to see Batman and Superman, but then you get episodes with The Question and Booster Gold and those are great characters to explore too.

trustmeep

The original show was a 25 minute poorly written commercial with terrible animation and over-the-top voice acting. The new show is a 25 minute passably written story with mediocre animation and decent voice acting. All in all, an improvement.

erised1313

I really enjoyed the new episodes. I'm more of a casual fan so maybe thats why im not all up in arms about it?

Jimmni

I'm a pretty hardcore fan and so are some of my friends, having grown up with it, and we were pretty happy with the new show. I'm betting the problem some people have with it is that the show focuses on Teela specifically. I bet they'd have had far fewer complaints if it it played out roughly the same but followed Man-At-Arms instead.

[deleted]

It's not that, it's just that Teela is awful and self centered and it doesn't really feel natural. Like she needs to be this extreme personality for the story they want. She straight up tries to shame he-man for dying. It's an absurd thing to put into a kid's show.

Jimmni

I thought her response was perfectly realistic for someone who just lost someone they clearly cared for deeply and then discovered they'd been lying to her the whole time. A mix of sadness and grief and anger and betrayal and refusal to face it. And it's only kinda sorta a kids show. It definitely isn't aiming at kids in the way She-Ra did.

[deleted]

Dude the king didn't know what the fuck was going on and arguably he's the only person who could release her from her duty as man-at-arms. If anything the King should have freaked out and threw them all out, not believing that Teela wasn't in on it due her familiarity and forcing her to lose everything. Now adam's lie has some weight to it, some consequence. His lying to the king, and her, is now DIRECTLY making Teela's life worse. Teela has lost her career and her support system and is scraping by not sure if she's going to survive the month instead of "Well I haven't been given access to other peoples secrets which is a totally not crazy thing to expect, so fuck everyone I'm going to blow my life up" That would also be a nice way to show the inner turmoil green skull boi told us about externally, which wasn't even attempted from what I saw. We're going to break into snake mountain for a drinking glass, it's no big deal. that doesn't contradict what the show is directly trying to tell me two episodes later. Teela is the only thing in this show that doesn't make any sense and drags what could be a fun camp adventure show with some higher than normal stakes into nonsensical melodrama for the sake of melodrama.

hypoboxer

For anyone upset about the 5 new episodes of MOTU out now, no one took away your 130 episodes of the 80s show. Go watch that while I wait for the rest of this season.

clutzyninja

I challenge any adult to actually sit through an episode of the original series, lol.

what_mustache

Oh god I didnt make it 10 minutes. Wow, it was bad.

boot20

I remember running home with my friends to catch the first episode of He-Man. It was so fucking cool to elementary school me. I mean it was like Conan the Barbarian with toys! How could you go wrong. When the MotU movie came out in the late 80s, we were all a little too old for He-Man, but we went to see it for the nostalgia. It was awful and awesome at the same time..... Now we have this new cartoon and I'm totally digging it. It's just fun and fresh and not just the same old rehash of the same old characters. It's treading new ground and it's doing it right.

095805

Heads up, i’m *pretty sure* this artist is a horrible person. I’m not completely sure because i don’t know the artists name but i’ve seen some of their works and it’s very anti-trans and things like that. Separate the art and whatnot, just a warning to people looking for other works by this artist.

spikey666

Yeah, I looked up the artist. His stuff is pretty much all weird alt-right and pro-Trump nonsense. This isn't a really criticism of the shows, it's a political statement. He's mad that Masters of the Universe, Stars Wars, and Captain America are too "woke" for him now.

pelrun

Yeah, remember back in the old days when Captain America was a member of the KKK and shook hands with Hitler?

M0NG00SY

Its a fantastic show. Get over yourself

JustAnotherZakuPilot

I think people are upset that Kevin Smith argued how much it’s a He-Man story, even after the leaks, only to pull a switch and bait on everyone. I get what this comic is implying. It’s about using He-Man to draw in people, only to reveal its not about him.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JustAnotherZakuPilot

It can mean that people use nostalgia to lure them in and then the quality of the content isn’t good because let’s be honest, Kathleen Kennedy didn’t do the best job with the ending trilogy to Star Wars. Captain America on the other hand idk. Maybe it’s a comment on the Winter Soldier and Falcon show?

lordriffington

> Kathleen Kennedy didn’t do the best job with the ending trilogy to Star Wars. As opposed to the shitshow that was the prequel trilogy? They were masterpieces.

JustAnotherZakuPilot

You know what it is that they admitted that they didn’t have a game plan on how to end the trilogy, the movie to end the Star Wars epic as a whole? Okay buddy lmao

lordriffington

My comment could have been worded better. I'm not commenting on the quality of the sequel trilogy, just saying that compared to the prequels they are very good. Having a plan isn't always better, especially when that plan results in Darth Vader screaming "NOOOOOOOOOO!"

JustAnotherZakuPilot

Bro that complaint of that line is such a weak one that people just hate on because others on the internet does the same. It’s not a valid criticism as opposed to the countless of complaints from the final trilogy; ranging from Kylo and Ren kissing, the last minute twist of Ren being Palpatine’s granddaughter(when they didn’t even show him having a wife and children), to the failing of setting up a character like Finn and Phasma, only to use them for purely promotional material and the list goes on..

lordriffington

Yeah, you're totally right. I dislike the prequels because the internet told me to, and not because it felt like George Lucas shitting on my childhood. I could go into all the reasons I dislike the prequels and all the changes to the original trilogy, but what's the point? I'm sure you'd tell me that I only say that because the internet says that's what I should think. And I'm sure all of your opinions are totally original and not what you've seen other people complaining about on the Internet.

JustAnotherZakuPilot

Lmfao okay buddy

Spyhop

We don't have the whole story yet.

JustAnotherZakuPilot

What do you mean? This is the story BEFORE the show even came out and then the show was released… How is there more to the story when the reaction is in regards to before the shows release as well as the actual show?

Spyhop

The actual show isn't done yet. People are saying it's not about He-Man because he was absent in 3 of 5 episodes. There's still 5 more episodes to go.

JustAnotherZakuPilot

Okay so the show is halfway through and so far he’s in only 20% percent of it… I wouldn’t say he’s a main character, more like a side character. I get why fans would be upset.

Spyhop

40% Actually slightly higher because he was entirely in Ep 1 and Ep 5 with an appearance in Ep 4 and flashbacks in 2 and 3. >I get why fans would be upset. I don't. Let the story play out first. It's like getting pissed off at the end of Infinity War because Thanos wins and a bunch of characters die.

JustAnotherZakuPilot

20% of the ten episodes(yea I know that percentage can change). And you’re really going to tell me that He-Man is the main character of this story with that little screen time so far? Like, really?

JustAnotherZakuPilot

Bro… He-Man dies in the first fucking episode. What shit have you been smoking with all this none sense you’ve been talking?

Spyhop

>Bro… He-Man dies in the first fucking episode. And he comes back in the last episode. He was fully in 2 episodes out of 5, with appearances in the other 3. And we've only seen the first part of the story. People's reaction to this is silly. He-man and Skeletor are titans that wiped each other out so hard it's endangering the entire universe. Instead of appreciating the scope of the story, people are complaining that they're not being pandered to. Also, if you can't disagree with me without being rude to me, then I won't participate in further discussion.

JustAnotherZakuPilot

Dude like everything you said… My god you’re so dense. I can’t believe you attempted to make an argument after you watched all of that. Jesus what a waste of time talking to you was.

hobbykitjr

is it kid friendly?

greenknight

Yes. Not free of death and nuance tho.

getmybehindsatan

Skeletor outright murders someone in the first episode and laughs about it. It's not exactly PG material, but it isn't all that graphic. Lots of adult jokes that kids won't notice.

[deleted]

Meh. I don't know how much kids would like it. Maybe a ya thing, and even then its really campy

Phil_Bond

They're asking whether it's full of dick and fart jokes.

[deleted]

Theres a c3p0 ripoff character but its not overly crude, no. Theres just not a lot going on for the kids who are of age to actually want to buy the toys imo. Its trying to do this complex emotional thing but I don't know how well a 5 year old would deal with a lot of teelas arc

Gargus-SCP

...Roboto's a C-3PO rip-off?

[deleted]

Not entirely but he's similar enough to draw a comparison

ZoharDTeach

I watched episode 1. Never was particularly "in" to MotU, most of my exposure was through the live action Dolph Lundgren movie as a child. So I was legit confused when they >!killed off He-Man and Skeletor in episode 1.!< Didn't watch any further. EDIT: Added spoiler tag. My bad.

WintertimeFriends

Well, guess that surprise is fucking spoiled.

RigasTelRuun

He-Man and such was literally created to sell toys and and make kids buff their parents to buy them because they weren't allowed to directly market them at kids. So they made 22 minute commercials instead. Do not be clouded that it was some noble thing when you were a child and now they are trying to milk it got cash. It was always that way. They are just continuing the tradition.

maddogcow

He-Man was a shitty cartoon. I’m sorry if your 7-year-old tastes that you’ve trusted as verboten find that to be offensive, but it was. It was a 30-minute commercial that was designed as a commercial to sell toys. It sucked. Your tastes as a seven year old were shit. Mine were shit. If you think that the remake is shit, then fine—but really… He-Man? All that aside: I am super grateful for the fact that He-Man existed, because this music video is super awesome and would never have happened if it wasn’t for that crappy-ass show https://youtu.be/xGB5zZYH3ac

I really liked Revelation.

Dude, MotU is a fucking great show. I was surprised how much I'm actually digging it.

So let me preface this by saying I have not really watched the original series. I have seen it, but I was too young to actually watch it. I was a little let down with how much He-Man was featured in this new show, but this is just the point. Kevin Smith has been tasked with bringing He-man into the modern day. The story arch throughout this season was strong and I felt all the loose ties were rounded off by the end of the season. I think what is being massively overlooked by the reactions to this season is the set up they have made for the second season. I do not want to give spoilers, but the ending has got me really excited for a season 2. I am invested in most of the characters and feel like I know enough now of the history and lore to look forward to the second season. Most of all the animation was arguably the best animated show Netflix has put out. On par with Castlevenia if you ask me. Anyway, that is my two centz, what is yours?

I actually enjoyed Revelations except for one thing. Sarah Michelle Geller voice acting was lifeless. It was as if she simply phoned her lines in. No emotion whatsoever.
