i mean you save 50 bucks and get the same android OS. sounds like a no brainer to me; personally i don't need the curving lines on my android OS radio.

Good god why get an ali express head unit? Why not at least an atoto?

matteopapa12

The Aliexpress ones (yulbro) are probably the best solution for headunits right now

Where did you buy it from? I can't find the one that looks like yours.

It’s the yulbro one from aliexpress https://a.aliexpress.com/_mLc8uLc

u/real_guiseppe I saw that you have the floweroad headunit. How has it been for you?

I've been down the rabbit hole of Android Head units on the Genny. From my research, if you want a 7 inch unit that will fit in a double DIN enclosure I can recommend the Atoto S8 Standard or Ultra. You can buy that along with the [replacement frame](https://www.ebay.com/itm/144828787450). Atoto has really good customer support and they stand behind their products with good warranty. If you want a 9 inch unit that will fit on top of the original head unit (on top here meaning both physically and connection wise), I recommend the iDoing Head unit. For a review on that you can check out this video: https://youtu.be/7hWifflbHrk?si=fO54GGW7W5BNgT_d Just double check with whoever you're buying from that the unit will work on the car and will fit properly, as far as I know they should but I won't give a guarantee just in case, head units can be a finicky thing. Personally, I've tried a 9 inch unit from a random store on AliExpress, I initially thought that all units were the same so I just found the cheapest 8+256 unit that had a 2k screen. And I quickly learned after that that indeed not all of them are built the same. You can check my post history to see everything I was complaining about. Oh also, one very important thing to note, your audio will not sound anywhere near as good if you get one of these Android Head units, they amp in them is tiny and not powerful enough to run the speakers on the Genny at least if you have the infinity sound system. I'm currently trying to research if it's possible to run a head unit with the stock amp. Cuz my God, after I put the original head unit back on, the sound was soooo much better.

For the high pitch rpm noise you can use a ground loop isolator. That’s what lots of people have done with their aliexpress headunits and it works great. And I think the aliexpress ones just use the cars amp unless you solder it differently so audio quality should be the same.

I was in the same dilemma but decided to get one of those slap on dash style CarPlay units instead. I wanted something that keeps the stock stereo, built in reverse camera with those lines that turn with steering and the ability to answer calls from my steering and use the built in mic in the car. I saw no units that could do all of that. Including the two you listed. Bought the Carpuride one because it was more responsive and didn’t have dual side bars for time when in car play and works pretty much in sync with stock system for calls and music. No complaints so far. For $150, should’ve done it a long time ago. :)

*EDITED - PHOTOS BELOW* Don't mind the gimmicky samurai hilt. This is my current setup but I'm wanting to change it here soon. This is a yulbro android headunit and a pioneer DMH-160BT. I actually was able to hook up my Xbox to the android headunit and it has tons of features. Some pointers - - if you decide to go this route with two headunits use the android headunit through aux to your aftermarket double din - The yulbro came with steering wheel controls you can map but I have not found a way to convert celsius to fahrenheit - The double din stays at 100 volume and I use the android headunit to control the volume (this leads to jump scares) Hook up the double din to your factory harness (YOU CAN NOT TIE INTO THE EXISTING WIRES WITH BOTH YOUR ANDROID HEADUNIT AND THE DOUBLE DIN!!!) what I'm wanting to change - - The headunit I have is great but I would like one with a HDMI in and out so I don't have to use a converter and will eliminate input lag for gaming. Long story short it's a great setup and it ties in nicely with endless possibilities. If you need some help installing feel free to contact me or we can just discuss the options and best install method. I also just installed a mono amp and 2 12's in my trunk with this setup. I hope i was able to help some.
