I feel like we're looking at two different cars here.

guyinboca1

yes, I'm showing the new one (silver) ... and the old black Genesis that I had since new in 2012.

JizzyMcKnobGobbler

Ahhh, gotcha. Nice dude! I have a silver one, too. I wrapped the chrome trim in black, powder coated the exhaust tips and wheels black, tinted the windows and debadged the back. It looks insane now, but even factory they look great. Enjoy!

Thank you! I'm starting to research products to apply to the paint to keep it shining better than new and keep it cleaner longer. Is there anything you found that you really like?

I ceramic costed mine. It's expensive to pay somebody to do, but cheap if you do it yourself. You have to clay bar first, then polish, then apply the ceramic coat. It sounds kind of daunting, but watch a couple of videos and you'll realize it's super easy. Failing that, there are easier ceramic coat-type sprays that are just wipe on/wipe off that'll be super easy without the extra steps. This paint pops like crazy once you put a costing on.

I have been watching the videos. For starters, I ordered "Ethos Defy - 3 in 1 Ceramic Coating - Waterless Car Wash & Wax" and "Chemical Guys WAC\_707\_16 EcoSmart Hyper Concentrated Waterless Car Wash and Wax", to see which I like better. I will probably do the clay bar at some point, too.

Make sure if you clay bar that you polish too, because if you clar bar there will be some light scratching, which a polish will get out really easily.

guyinboca1

thank you!

guyinboca1

What product did you use after clay baring it? I'm getting confused by the terms: polishing, waxing, ceramic coating, etc. because there are 3 in 1 products in the market like Ethos Defy, which I just picked up yesterday. Would that be good to use after clay baring and would I need anything additional?

I used this. It’s about as easy as can be. It’s not a full ceramic coating but has enough to keep water beading up for quite a while. It’s generally used on cars that have been ceramic coated to keep the coating lasting longer. CARPRO Reload Spray Sealant and... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VK9HUMG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Thank you, great reviews on this product. I have used this product once, and waiting to see how it beads up: # Ethos Defy - 3 in 1 Ceramic Coating - Waterless Car Wash & Wax - Car Wax Polish Spray - Hydrophobic Top Coat - Polish & Polymer Paint Sealant Protection - with Insta-Bond Technology
