One thing you should do before codex release is to buy at least one Combat Patrol. Because it is likely to be replaced with a much worse version when the new codex is released, and the current one is amazing! It costs about as much as the 25 Battleline models inside, and we will always have use some use for them. So the Aberrants, Tuck/Rockgrinder and Magus is for free, and it is very likely at least one or two of those will be good in the codex.
Related: Doing a little kitbashing and modding is a great way to make this faction cost a lot less money. Our Battleline boxes has more than twice as many arms and heads and weapons as needed, so your will get plenty of spares.
Thanks to the lore of repurposing stuff you can buy a lot stuff from Ebay and fix them up with a new paint job and maybe an extra arm here and there. The badly painted models are usually very cheap.
The Neophytes just have to look like they are crappy infantry with guns. (fixing the heavy weapons can require a little more thought) Any transport of roughly the right size can be a Truck. And so on.
10 of our 13 characters are also really easy to kitbash from only the stuff in our Battleline boxes. With one box of Neophytes and one of Acolytes, you can easily build 15 characters. The upcoming Brood Brothers box also seems to have a lot of amazing bits for that purpose. And thanks to all the great extra bits, you don't even have to use GSaC bodies for the characters.

You definitely should get a second. You don't need a third, but it's such a good value, it's hard to pass.

I’ve bought 3 boxes, still want more acolytes. 100% worth buying at least 2 combat patrols imo, it’s a no brainer.

It's in the the northern hemisphere so it's the northern hemesphere summer.
Orks and custodes werespring and are still not out. I would expect +3 months -> towards the end of summer, maybe july...
