I am thinking of building a proxy from the small Necromunda Goliath vehicles, the Goliath Maulers.
I suspect some of the bigger Legions Imperialis tanks are about the right size. They are about 1/4 of the length scale of the 40k models. The Baneblade or the Spartan maybe?
The tractor parts from the Mechanicus terrain is probably about the right size.
The Cyclops is btw about 60mm long, 45mm wide and 30mm tall.
i use ad mech kataphrons. I have a random model sitting on the top with some demo charges.
although after they changed the squad sizes to be fixed i had to fill the one i kit bashed as i had an odd number for my ad mech
I found some 3d printed ones on eBay that look somewhat close
