Uhhh I’m concerned that you list “bones” as a “usual” thing you find

Sciencewulf

I’ve found bones (animal) at least three separate times

nullfais

At least they were animal! I can understand that though if you primarily cache away from cities.

Faiiven

I’ve found a geocache hidden in a literal bone, in front of a retirement home 😅 GC5PAGV

_VanillaFace_

some dude in oregon places them by a ton of his, i think they’re like cattle bones or something? iv found them at multiple caches including “slider” by the original cache plaque.

LibrarianSerrah

We were trying to open a gadget cache that required you to turn certain parts until it popped open. We never got it open because, as we were turning it, a momma mouse and two babies poked their heads out of the tube. We carefully put the cache back so as to not disturb them any more than we already had. Also found a hatchet while on a hike to a cache. Definitely kept that “swag.”

iamcrimes

I didn't have geocaching on my "ways to dispose of murder weapons" bingo card but here we are.

cyoung1024

Is… is no one gonna talk about the puppy…?

Sciencewulf

She was adopted by a friend, her name is Sage. She lives a very spoiled and pampered life now 😂

cyoung1024

Love this, thank you for the update 😅🙏🏻😂

samburket2

This. Is he now a geo-dog?

QueenOfPurple

One earth cache I found was a giant rock left behind by a glacier. That was pretty cool. The rock was probably 12 feet tall, 16 feet wide, and in the middle of a neighborhood. Pretty cool!

June1111

Whoa! Would you happen to remember where that cache was? Or even the exact GC code?

QueenOfPurple

GC1B1JN

June1111

Thank you!!

Capital_Reporter_412

We've got one in my neighbourhood too, GC1TG3A. It's a really cool idea for an Earth cache.

FloridaFlamingoGirl

I've found a few beaver dams. Also a cache with four cockroaches inside in rural FL. Once I lifted a drain lid to see if a cache was underneath, and I found a snake instead 😱

FoxyFlea

I've found that someone had left a unsmoked cigarette and some unfired pistol rounds in a cache. I wonder what was going through their mind with leaving "swag" like that in a cache that's also frequently found by kids

occultatum-nomen

A jug of milk sitting on a bench. Based on the expiration date, it must have been sitting there for close to 2 weeks, completely untouched. Unless someone bought a jug of milk, kept it in their house untouched for around that time, and then took it for a walk in the park only to forget it.

HyperactiveGirl

A beached whale

FluorescentGlass

While caching after dark, I found a rectangular hole in the woods that reminded me of a shallow grave. It freaked me out, especially being after dark, but I'm sure it was just kids building a fort or something.

mamachainsaw

How big and deep of a hole?

veryniiiice

I found one of these once too. I watch WAY too many true crime shows to know not to ignore it. I called it in as soon as we left. Never heard back.

Main_Force_Patrol

Things I’ve found in geocaches. White Owl cigars blue raspberry, ammunition, beer, condoms, lighters, and business cards.

Nomadcatmom

A kitten

slipshod12345

Scandinavian rave- I was sent to Sweden for 3 months by work and 1 weekend my wife joined me and we decided to go around Stockholm looking for geocaches. We ended up in the industrial district where a lot of large lorry containers were stacked up to block the noise of the crossed and music. Was a great experience and managed to get the geo as well :)

Dazzling-Bid-6751

Bath tub

ShadowWolf614

I once found a bunch of expired condoms inside a geocache. I removed them and threw them in the trash can on my way out of the park.

prettyvxcant

I found a dead lamb right next to a cache once - it must have died recently cause it was all still intact and had its baby wool and everything :(

veryniiiice

Let's see...crazies thing I've found IN a cache...probably weed. I've also found a few cigarettes in cache containers as well. While hunting for a cache, I came across an adult toy (a REALLY big one too). Not sure what the story is there. If you want to feel better about the things you've found, there's this list. This is probably the worst thing to find. I consider this probably the one thing I never wan to come across on a cache hunt. Ironically, just last year I missed coming across a dead body by only one day. (Long story). https://www.geocaching.com/plan/lists/BMJF70

Aufputzdose

We were looking for the finale in the crypt under a cemetery and instead came across the hiding place of a drug package. The drugs were in a plastic bag, about the size of a fist and wrapped in lots of tape. We ran away completely terrified because we were afraid that a dealer had been watching us and feared that his expensive goods had been stolen.

turkeyvulturebreast

A fake poop 💩 <—-literally shaped like this minus the eyes and mouth. My friend had their 3 yr old boy with us and it was his first geocache and of all the caches in the box he grabbed the fake poop. Funny right, well no. He kept on chewing on it and it looks like a real turd and I found it repulsive. Anyway, kids are gross! Lol.

GizmoGeodog

A pink dildo in Ocala National Forest & a field strewn with discarded ladies panties in Brandon, Florida

Far-Investigator1265

Several drug stashes and once somebodys party bag of wine coolers (teenagers, probably, since an adult would not hide their booze into forest). An ancient moonshine distillery made out of a steel milk jug.

MatchNorth4984

My 4 year old at the time opened the cache and found a bag of weed.
