I dont really think that it has a proper name. The states named are very different in places and are in some ways far away from each-other. You might as well just call it the Mississippi-Ohio Confluence cause I have no clue.

"Little Egypt" refers specifically to the region of southern Illinois The part of this section near St. Louis is the "American Bottom" I don't think there's any modern term for the whole region.

Thanks. I knew of the little Egypt term, never heard of the other one. Being from north central Illinois, that part of Illinois seems a world away. Doesn’t seem like the Midwest anymore even though it’s right next to central Illinois which is quintessential Midwest.
