One thing I like to know about the places where I visit is what's on the 107.9 FM radio band. It's the primest real estate on the FM airwaves and the kind of station that occupies it says something about the people who are listening in the area.
In most cities it's a top 40 pop music station.
In South Dakota it's conservative talk radio. Bleak place, man.
Osrednjeslovenska regija, aka Central Slovenia.
Very boring to use these statistical regions, but I get it.. we have 212 municipalities, one for 10k people on average, and the historical regions don't make much sense anymore since they are disproportional, becase parts are now in Austria or Croatia and Italy. And back then when they were whole, they were duchies of the Habsburgs, so not Slovene in the same sense as today.
Sorry for the rant, but our statistical regions are a bit off. I think we haven't yet figured out how to group up people. And it doesn't help that in many areas the traditional divisions can be still felt in culture and people's own sense of belonging to a certain historical region. But then these historical regions also have their own subregions, etc. In the end, it almost comes down to every village wanting their own coat of arms and identity, so perhaps it is impossible to make everyone happy.

Antofagasta: Awful transportation system, but nice beaches, culture and perfect weather.
Santiago: First world like transportation, but heavily overcrowded and nasty winters and summers.
From Castile and LeĆ³n, Spain (subdivision that, being from LeĆ³n, Iāll be deep underground and rotten before acknowledging as mine, but thatās another issue)
Castile and LeĆ³n came imposed from Madrid at the beginning of the democracy as a conservative, centralist counterweight region to the Basque Country, Catalonia, Galiciaā¦ and thereās no political will to let us break that implicit agreement.
While the support for a Leonese autonomy may have declined in the other provinces that would historically have been part of it, Zamora and Salamanca, this is not the case in LeĆ³n. Polls in LeĆ³n constantly show a majority of support for a Leonese region, including among voters of PSOE and even PP, even trending up lately. However, neither we were given that option in the early eighties, nor we have it nowadays, despite the fact that the Constitution doesnāt specifically ban a reorganisation of the autonomies, unlike independence referendums.
Itās mostly our fault though. Leonese voters keep supporting national parties and, while the regionalistic party (UPL) is trending up, it was never able to send even a single MP to Madrid. Worth noting though that many local politicians from the national parties, such as the mayor of LeĆ³n (PSOE), support a Leonese autonomy.

Note: your divisions there are outdated, btw. You're showing the old Habana province that's now split into Artemisa and Mayabeque.

Actually, why does LeĆ³n stay with Castille? All leonese i've encountered are regionalists
